I must say, I'm starting to get a little excited now. Feels like early 2017 when BTC was in the high 2000s. I had a few friends wanting to invest in BTC at that time. Which they did, but got in above 4000. They hodl till this day and even accrued a bigger stash over the last few years. I'm happy for myself, but I'm also happy that I've managed to help others.

41k is awesome and all, but the best days are still ahead of us. Wish I could say the same about the direction of our societies.

Most societies around the world are mostly peaceful.
Most people I believe are mostly peaceful and want a peaceful life.

It's the extremists and mostly the media machines trying to drag people to the extreme edges of division.

Storming capital hill like an imbecile and taking selfies inside isn't right.
But stating that a bunch of idiots who did that are behaving JUST like kamikaze terrorists on 9/11 or an entire country declaring war at Pearl Harbour isn't right either (and also millions of voters were tarred with that same brush in some of the reactions I have heard from politicians - totally not accepting or even discussing concerns, instead just throwing more fuel on the fire and trying to marginalise people - and probably pushing others to an extreme).

The media are loving all of this and exploiting all the click bait they can get out of it.
Social media companies have made billions from politics, people's opinions, extreme reactions, emotions etc too and now saying they hold the moral high ground so know what's best for people to hear? Give me a break.

Most people in the world don't take part in any of this extreme behaviour from what I can conclude. We only see the loudmouths and the companies who profiteer from them.

That is not what I am talking about, that is a sideshow to distract you from the real issues, which are socio-econmic.

Most societies around the world are being destroyed by an ever growing wealth divide and a capital class that are activily undoing (with assistance of elected officials,) the hard won labor conditions acheived by our forebears. The labor/union movements have been gutted, Edward Bernays and his ilk have won the battle of manipulating the people by getting them to spend themselves into slavery, and much more.

The poor, working poor, and middle class (i.e. the labor classes), they are all on a road to destruction (mostly there in many countries). The young have no future, living expenses and housing are insane and will continue higher. Tell me where is the real peace in that? Are slaves peaceful? you bet they are because they are oppressed by their owners, but they are also unhappy and their children have no future.

Watching your altcoins dumping while bitcoin pumping is really a stressful thing !

fuc* those dumpers..

Hahahaahaha, its a thing of beauty my friend.

Except until you think about the poor souls who are losing their money. I'm mean its funny when its someone like jbear, he can afford it, and should know better. But, the people who can't afford it, the ones he and his ilk manipulated into buying their shitcoins, it's not funny.

An extra early good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day another obligatory ATH ($41530 Stamp). This time the $3k correction and rebound came first... currently $41350USD/$52420CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

How many new millionaires today? How many reaching 8 figures for the first time?

Go Bitcoin go.
___

Fuck politics.

Everyone is talking about how this rally is driven by institutional investors, but this should indicate that retail is getting onboard too.

All you have to do is step out of WO into the Speculation folder to see this.

The place is crawling with noobs.

A chart showing daily/weekly signups to this forum would be a good indicator of price I'm sure.

What the hell does the color of the person matter when the real issue is, and always has been, the labor classes vs the capital classes.
Color is a good predictor is all.

wealth is the best, and being born into said wealth, or lack of.

American policemen have no issues to use excessive force, and they're pretty sure to get away with it. Of course, it's easier when it's 3 policemen to a single man... usually black.

No, usually white actually, according to official numbers, more white people then black people are victims of police violence.

Source? The Daily Stormer?

fake stats.

the actual count is higher for whites because there are a lot more whites.

236.5 million (2019). whites

41.99 million (2019) blacks

close to 5.7 to 1. well 5.64 to 1

that is google numbers if you google search

but 34% of people in prison are black
and 29% of people in prison are white.

most on bullshit low value drug busts.

If usa law was busting whites on low value drug charges the numbers would be closer.

I remember seeing an article but I can't find it. The statistic is based on the percentage of people with police interaction. As a percentage of people who encounter the police for whatever reason, whites are statistically the victim of police violence in much greater numbers than any other race. Probably because they are hopped up on some drug or trying to kill someone.

Of course, the counter argument is why do blacks encounter the police at a much higher rate than any other race.

I see the misdirection is working well among everyone, even here in the WO. How about finding the stats on the percentage of the say top 10% owners of wealth killed by police vs those of the bottom 50%. Or maybe difference of those 2 groups in prison.

What the hell does the color of the person matter when the real issue is, and always has been, the labor classes vs the capital classes.

...BitCoin...

Learn how to spell, you fucking twat... referring to you, hv_.

You have been in the bitcoin space long enough to know that only diptwats capitalize the "C" in bitcoin.. either you capitalize the "B" or you do not, the "C" is not capitalized.

I learned 8 years ago that the "B" is only capitalized when referring to the protocol or the currency as a whole. It is not capitalized when referring to an actual unit. The "S" in Satoshi is only capitalized when referring to Bitcoin's creator, not the unit.

i.e. "The smallest unit of Bitcoin is the satoshi which is one one-hundred-millionth of a bitcoin".

Capitalizing the "C" is almost as moronic as making it into 2 words... "Bit Coin".

It's Bit Corn not Bit Coin, and it comes in shares, not satoshis.

shares? I would of figured kernels

30k, almost there.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 01, 2021, 12:36:07 PM
we're heading to reach $30K, personally I'm so much excited. we all hope there no dumps however, I have no clue. It might not happen at all. with so much momentum, BTC might keep climbing.

I expected a dump after hitting $20k, $25k and so on but it hasn't come yet. But there will be one for sure. This can't continue like this.

Institutional investors have strong hands. Get used to it.  Cool

Strong hands yes, and why do they have strong hands, because they are after wealth preservation. They are not looking at Bitcoin as a way to make capital gains. They are using it to preserve the wealth they have already achieved over the last several decades.

They'll only "take profit" when the legacy system has once become stable enough for them to go about normal business. This will take a while with the full blown MMT that is coming down the line. Monetary and fiscal stimulus to the moon, along with those looking to preserve their wealth.
1210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 01, 2021, 12:29:16 PM

That seems to be the case. I've mentioned it in other threads. Searches are up around the world but in countries with high inflation like Argentina or Turkey they are at an ATH. Add that to institutional investors' demand and see what 2021 will bring us.

This is more, earlier than expected.   Which leaves us with the question.  Is this a supercycle?  Or is it just early?

Thing to note here though is that every cycle is bigger than the last. So expect google searches to peak 10 times over the previous highs. Just as the price does.

So does anyone have any insight as to why hashrate is not chasing this rise?

Are the big miners caught with their pants down?

... the power supply in some regions of China are being seriously affected by the embargo on coal supplies from Australia imposed by CCP in Beijing, blackouts, brownouts, etc.

... might have something to do with it but who knows ...

Good news for our resident miners I guess.
1212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 27, 2020, 10:16:55 AM
We are grown ups no? Let's ask some critical questions. I know critical thinking is forbidden in our society. Everybody who thinks critical and asks questions is called conspiracy theorist. We see where this led us to in 2020.

Seriously, who is behind the pump? In 2013 it was mtgox manipulating the price up. As much as I remember in 2017 it were some autobots no? Now people saying now institutions getting in and pumping the price. Would they be this stupid to throw their money out of the window by buying huge amounts in one go? They could buy slowly to not pump the price.

Seriously man, go do some reading on supply constrained markets during a period of increasing demand. What you are seeing is textbook, and this shit can run for a long time. Some of the best markets to look at regarding this are property in places like California, Vancouver, Sydney, etc. Sure, they are supply constrained via policy, but the effect is the same. A never ending bull market periodically interrupted by temporary bear markets.

Here's the big thing though, those markets have previously been driven via private money creation (when private banks make loans). The boom we are seeing today, not just in BTC, are being driven by private money creation plus public, and ever increasing masses of it.

Well, what an absolutely fantastic 24 hours. I don't usually read WO where I left off from, I always limit myself to last 2 pages only. But this time I read over 20 of them. And, while I didn't really have the time to do that, it was worth it. Congratulations everyone, our trip to 300k has truly left the station.

When we are the new financial elite lets not fuck up the world like the previous lot though. Our aim should be to help reduce poverty and wealth division, not create it like the current fuckers.

humble & generous to pre-coiners
no mercy to shitcoiners

Haha, I hear ya.

To all family members and friends who didnt want to believe me.. take this! Cheesy

Screw that. Pretend that you don't even own BTC any more. It's much better that way for a host of reasons.

So I'm thinking if we do go sideways here for a while, all it will be is the small handle for our 2018-2020 big cup. When it breaks up from here, and it will, I expect a doubling in price before another decent correction/sideways movement. Kind of like the move from March 2017.

like 2017, I'm not worried if it takes a few months to achieve this. But with the continued destruction of sound money globally it might not even take that long before the bulls are recharged.

Buy every dip.

Highly time for you to gain Hero ---> Legendary status.... couldn't max send 34 as I already send 16 in the last Month your way

cheers

Well, hero status would be nice but I'm shocked by the amount of generosity, thank you.

Every bull run gets me more active in the comments section so I'm in no doubt that I'll get to hero with this run. Maybe next run, I'll even make legendary. Bitcoin will probably be near a million then. Problem with that though is that a simple loaf of bread will probably be $10, and I will be thanking my past self daily for having enough sense to not have listened to all the so called economic and hedge fund gurus saying it was all a scam in 2013.

yo, dumpsters...  Roll Eyes

your bet isn't working in bull markets. will they ever learn?

No, but they will go broke.  Grin

with this joke of a dump they have burned $12mio on stamp alone already. you would think gaining access to 12 mio rules out stupidity. guess not...  Cheesy

Desperate people do stupid things.

owning bitcoin that are on ATH - why should they be desperate? because they are so stupid ?  Cheesy

They want the price down for whatever reason. Probably to buy more coins, but eventually demand gets too strong, and the price never gets to their buyback price. They'll stop eventually and go with the flow. they'll have less BTC but plenty of dirty fiat, which they'll probably go pump into TSLA or something.
