The scourge of dignity that is tourism will persist until all national borders are little more than bitter memories.

Armchair American foreign policy is sometimes almost as grotesque as actual American foreign policy.

Why should the top percent give up any of their money, especially when they've (usually) worked very hard for it? Usually because they don't want to be torn to shreds by angry mobs of starving folks. Give it a few more years, you'll see what I mean.

Someone else just got robbed, another day, another bitcoin. I need someone who knows what they are doing to tell me if this somehow can work in the benefit of bitcoin,I know it takes a beating because of it but it rebounds. Any chance that somehow these robberies will make it rebound even greater because of the scarcity of the bitcoin?wait nvm, i figure they just sell it. sigh.
ill just keep this thought up for your amusement.

With the vast numbers of Bitcointalk forum members, is there anyone here who was one of the users of Mt Gox when they went down?
Found them!

If Ripple was much more user-friendly (for non-tech people), then they could have been a real threat to Bitcoin. The way they are (or were last time I checked), they will never grow past a small % of the potential user-base.
Wouldn't you class it as a payment protocol rather than a currency or store of value? I would classify it as a scam.

Care to give out some examples of such transnational corporation so I can get a better idea of what you're saying? Take your pick of any major internationally operating corporation. http://www.globalissues.org/article/234/the-rise-of-corporationsAlso what do they have to do with the "capitalist train wreck"? Corporations are the most advanced form of capitalist entity, the purest distillation of what capitalism creates. If a small business with four employees is a chimpanzee, Pfizer is a Homo Sapien in capitalism evolution.

Sentient true general A.I., but there's close to zero probability of such technology emerging in time to save fiat from the looming black hole that is bitcoin.

How is this a capitalist train wreck? It is. If you can't see it, your privilege bubble must be blinding you to reality. Congratulations on your good fortune. You know that the USA and the europian countries practice capitalism differently right? Each one of those is a very different case. Transnational corporations don't seem to give much of a fuck. Greece used to be governed by its loaners Now being governed by radical leftists who campaigned and won on an auti-austerity platform. Spain ans Italy didn't have to force as many austerity measures to their citizens Yet.

Safest place to be in collapse of society? A government bunker. Least safe? Major city. But it's revolution that's coming, not apocalypse.
Although it will feel like an apocalypse for the capitalist elite. Those people are very good at making you feel what they feel, making their political interests into your political interests, dear reader.

I think the system is fucked. Your world view seems very black or white, I don't deserve that much free money because of a diagnose that on paper says I have social faulties but am more intelligent than the avarage. If the top 10% gave up their 90% wealth, everyone else would have 9x more money. Reflect on that before being so quick to utter the words, "I don't deserve".

The USSR and the Nazi Germany were both leftist countries (yes, you read well: leftist) "fascist = leftist" -Snail2 Nazi Germany = Fascism = top right hand corner.

Same as religion, monogamy, gender, nationalism, authority obedience, capitalism, and so on. If you take a person's mind, they will give you their body.

States don't exist in Capitalism. States only exist outside of Capitalism. When states interfere with the way Capitalism would otherwise work When capitalism began the state did not interfere. Within a century that led to the gilded age, the great depression, World War I, and the new deal.

How do you know that you wont get bailed out again though? I trust my gut. I don't think it's a politically viable option in today's political climate, there's too much disgust.

I'd like to update my capitalism parasite metaphor from Dirofilaria immitis to Pleistophora mulleri. Perfect. Also, add Germany to the list of nations in which capitalism has begun imploding.

Maybe Russia should deprive USA of the Statue of Liberty - it no longer deserves it. Given the USA's recent anti-immigrant sentiment, you're right about that. Doesn't seem particularly relevant though...

worthless emotive nonsense. all the increases in pollution over the next 20 years will come from third world countries who chop down forests and burn coal and generally don't give a shit about the green agenda while american and european levels will fall or stay the same. we are making life difficult for ourselves for no meaningful benefit and at the same time helping india and china overtake us economically because we are pussies and they aren't.
Third world countries argue for limiting emissions on a per capita basis, which the developed world doesn't agree to. It would be meaningless to have an absolute level on emissions without taking into account the population. You should understand that China and India are the 2 most populous countries in this world. The United States' reaching 300 million people might not seem relevant at a global level. After all, the United States represents just 5 percent of the world population. But it consumes disproportionately larger amounts than any other nation in the world—at least one quarter of practically every natural resource. And because it is the only industrialized country in the world still experiencing significant population growth, this high rate of resource consumption is expected to continue. Every other industrialized nation has 3 to 6 GHA (global hectares) consumed per person, the USA consumes 8 GHA x 300 million citizens, by far the largest footprint for any major nation, and sixth worst in the world PER CAPITA. Anything that bring us more in line with the rest of the world is a good thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_ecological_footprintThe world is not yours to consume, fat american. You are borrowing it from your children, and their children.
