just run it at stock settings, maybe power -10-20%....

@philipma1957

Have you been able to get a good deal for the 8 GPU board with no 24 pin ?

Best quotation i got so far is 139$ , i am more interested in creating my own panda miner so i can use all my RXs and server PSU.

This is something I would like to pickup sometime in the not so distant future.

8 slots;  onboard CPU or socket (open to either);  No 24 pin (if able) and no pCIE connectors off the short edge such as the pandaminer has;  I really want them off the front or back of the board so that I can easily mount it inside one of my 26" shipping cases =)

One of them is going to end up being my home network hub on the ranch.  Cellular internet and VPN client/server, and all of my mining machines in one package.  Ill be able to seal it up and move or even ship it by simply unplugging it's power and any attached cables.  Eventually we will outfit these and place them in locations to be self contained satellite "off the grid"-like systems.

I just know ill be wanting to eventually fit my entire power allotment in one package, right now it would be two of them, and i'd like to make more dense, but still enclosed and mountable (4u framework) so I can fit it all... but since winter is hitting finally, I wont mind keeping my miners inside for the season.  I am accustom to the hum and background sound of fans.

is ddos today too? I think it's often connection lost for 2-3 min.

Been solid here myself.   Are you sure its not connectivity issues with your given internet routing?

do some traces and look for packet loss/issues.  I can't play one of my favorite game servers anymore because of a bad node between California and their server.  50% packet loss or more through that one hop.  Slowly degraded over time too.
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 06:55:08 AM

I love the layout of that board.  Card spacing looks excellent!

when normalizing, its all about being a ratio to each other.

with .1 being your chosen normalization for all algos:

because X15 [.1*(0.00051)] is less than quark [.1*(0.176959)];   so it will pick the algo with the higher profitability/result of function based on your normalization.... which in your example numbers as I have shown; quark has the highest sum after doing the math.

So to make the things work properly i should set something like
x11=0.0001,x13=0.1,x14=0.1,x15=0.1,quark=0.0001,qubit=0.0001
due to the fact that x11, quark and qubit value are calculated in mBTC per GH, right?

Yep... simplest way to see it, but just seeing the math problems always explained it easier in the past Wink  To use less chars, just remove a zero from the beginning of each number: x11=0.001,x13=1,x14=1.... etc.     Some devices/apps don't like long passwords with a bunch of algos and parameters.

Hey quick question (they all are arent they?)
I was wondering if there was an ability on zpool to tag a miner.  I currently run about 6 different rigs and would love to be able to easily distinguish between all of them looking at the zpool dashboard.  If not, are there currently any plans to implement that kind of functionality?

Thanks in advance!

example pf a typical ccminer launch string:
Code:
... -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p i7-7100-GPU,c=BTC,algoName

-p i7-7100-GPU,c=BTC,algoName

i7-7100-GPU would be the rig name.  This way, when you see the connected miners on the right pane, its password string starts with its name.  Pick anything, separate it from the rest of the password with a comma as shown.

Help mining dead

You should read this thread... you literally posted on the page after what explains the problem; and there is a quote of the pool admin's response at the very top of this page.

Please guys, try and read whats recently been talked about before repeating the same things already answered.
There was a DDOS or other host/datacenter issue.   Happened to everyone.

Where it should be red? Can't see any red coins...

http://take.ms/tWmv1
Why there are dots instead of Tx Id?

I have not received anything yet, because blocks are immature?
http://take.ms/5mGz5
I have received only 0.00773367 XCT.
WTF?
I stopped mining before red message appeared.
sometimes the message appears after you stop mining.... such as, the pool estimated the blocks to be enough to pay before the exchange magic happened; but not after it happened for the rest of the people who got credits on the same blocks you worked on.

The dots are a TX that has not happened yet; but it about to or in progress.
Those pictured blocks were immature.  until they get sold on market, then you get your final credit.  It's complicated, and that's why its called an estimate. you can only count it as a real number once it hits the "Balance" portion.  Anything else is a number that gets influenced by another [set of] variable(s).

You received what the pool was able to send you most likely.

I do not think these will run eight 1080 tis

im curious myself;  i wonder how thick/wide the traces are for the PCIE power through the board.

It looks like nice 2.2x slot spacing.  With active cooling, and the large coolers on aftermarket cards;  I think heat could be managed... but i yet have to personally cram two 1080ti's right next to each other and see how they fair.   Its bad enough putting my 980 next to my 1070; you can feel the heat radiating into the fan of the card behind it.

But with good airflow;  im very curious indeed... I would almost get one of those just to outfit it with 1060ssc's.  I remember them being $200 all day... should be that or less by now if anything.

I may buy up some 1080ti cards as soon as I get back from working.  I will be absent for ~2 weeks;  doing a ton of different chores/projects for my friends dad whom had open heart surgery not long ago.  Ill be up in the sierra mountains, other side of California.  The other week when I was up there to do some PC work for him, he gave me a 4x4 truck and also a CJ5 Jeep chassis if I want it.  The truck only needs a trans which is easy to change.   Good $, easy work.  Should be able to buy me some extra top tier video cards finally.  Cash has been tight for a while now and ive been eager to get back up to date on hardware...  And possibly be at the point of it paying the rent and re-occurring bills.... I was there during the boom, but you know how it all went... lol.

Hi Admin

exist some parameter for password field, which set minimal profit level for coins in the current algo mining?
and if at the moment no coins with bigger profit as a value of this parameter, pool will be like disabled or disconnected for my miner?
And otherwise, if after miner reconnection, pool have some coins with profit bigger as this parameter, mining will be continued on zpool.

Regards

im not an admin, but you can only set algo profitability based on hashrate.   Look up how to normalize in my signature's "batch file" link.

you can not select anything independent as far as coins.  the stratum code picks coins based upon a ton of variables.  you only have control of what you set at a more profitable algo based on how much hashrate your device(s) make.

Phil - i ordered from parallel miner today. Used your ref link and also slush code. Worked great !

thank you.

and the mobo from china came today  late right before dinner.

it is big  really big   bigly huuuuuuge!

about 20 inches by 10 inches.

I put in a 16gb stick of ram  cause I had on and why the fuck not.

I need to figure what cpu I have to put in it.
FWIW;  The i3-7100 is a pretty damned good performer, and not overly expensive.   I am able to mine and play games concurrently.   Sadly I havent had a chance to test more than 4 GPU with this CPU and a Z270-A, but it seemed to handle everything pretty damned well.  Since you are doing more GPU and [possibly] miner instances, the extra computing power might be beneficial.

I think citronick may have better insight than I Wink

ok my post above has been updated. thx for the help.

From what I understand, fee is taken from the funds once they return from the exchange.... maybe before... I am unsure.

when you got your payout, you still had unconfirmed earnings; part of the grand total not paid yet.

are you getting paid in BTC?

*edit* yobit is gonna hate me today for all these posts XD

is there something funky goin on at the pool with XVG? Last night I showed 55 shares earned. Yet today looking through immature/cleared non of the VERGE even are listed. I took a screenshot last night of the shares and now they arent in the counted list? WTF?

cant seem to post a screenshot here*

if you need to screenshot;  use imgur and post the link;  a member with more posts could quote it into existence on the page if necessary.

So, if you read back a page, possibly two, you will see the comments on what happened.

Now compound is missing from the x11 list? miners went to failover pool?

For some reason coins/wallets have been falling offline;  I am sure in the next few hours crackfoo will be back up and get it sorted out.  It happens from time to time;  wallet crashes, blockchain/node issues, etc.

If its still offline by ~10AM PST, send him a tweet;  they reach him a LOT faster than BCT thread messages.

Looks like a coin box crashed overnight. I’ll have to scan drives etc, will be a few hours before all those coins are bac
k.

those scans can take some time...

But, I looked right now, and XVG is online and fine.  Block was found ~57 min ago.  (Lyra2v2)

Also;  the block before it orphaned.

So I've been tuning my NemosMiner for zpool, which is why I've been watching it all day.

The other datum point is at 15:40, where my unpaid balance was suddenly down to 0.00115160.  So sometime between 14:40 and 15:40 is where I lost earnings.  It just happened to take another hour to get back to the 14:40 value.  Yes, I checked the algos I had been mining for orphans, nothing out of the ordinary that I could see.  My earnings were normal during that recovery period, so I called it two hours worth of loss (more or less).

I don't profess to know everything about zpool's inner workings, so when I see an unexplained drop I question it.

.earl
Was a block orphaned? You say no.  Did it sell under current market value at the exchange?  Did exchange price fluctuate?  Which exchange?

Remember; the initial graph is an ESTIMATE; not truth.  There are soooo many variables that can sway the value of a generated block.

Please don't treat the initial graph as truth, because its likened to counting how many unbroken eggs you will have [after]; before you throw them across the room at the wall.

You should read from page 1 up to this page...  The inner workings have been heavily discussed (especially this topic), as well as a whole thread about the "expected earnings based on what the graph says" or "I was expecting 20% more profit" stuff.... which the link to that thread is somewhere back in this thread.  All of it is based on what people thought, or expected, or whatever.... no real basis of evidence but hearsay for the most part.

@earlmo

the graph just stoped working between that time(it happens).. i don't pay to much attention to the graphs.. i just monitor my miners them-selfs (which have not droped connection at all in the last 24hour/s and the balance info which also keeped increasing even when graphs/frontend are down... thats why im working on adding balance info: to NemosMiner so you don't have to rely on the web front end so much...

Best Regards
Nemo
Yeah so at 14:40 my unpaid balance was 0.00157667, and at 16:40 it was 0.00157399.  Not a problem with the graph.

.earl

[edit] Understood JaredKaragen, but two hours worth?

you can't say that the miner would have definitely earned as much in those two hours as it did the two hours prior.  Profitability swings a bit;  especially these days.

Did the algo suddenly have 300% hashrate on it for those two hours?
Did exchange price flutcuate wildly?
Did the algo hashrate drop substantially during that time?

There are a LOT of factors that make it so you can't expect a certain amount of earnings in a certain amount of time.....  this is why we do 14 hour estimates.  they delta out the error and give more of a realistic value.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][HashTap™][FlexFee™][SegWit] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ on: October 30, 2017, 09:34:44 PM
Guys, my english isn't perfect but i make print screen tomorrow from miner and from nicehash. i think it will be better for you!

The pool graph isn't the "absolute truth".  The parts of the server that generate the graph can go on and offline sometimes.  and usually during very large payout sessions.

If your miner itself is still connected;  then you are still generating shares even if the pool graph shows no hashrate.

Also note;  your "Total pending value", and "balance" are two separate things.

"Total pending" can fluctuate based on price and demand on the exchanges.
"Balance" will not get smaller like the pending balance because it is all sold, and is actual final known credit for your shares.
All of these things are explained on the zpool.ca homepage, and at the bottom of your wallet page:
" * a general estimate from current exchange rates
 ** bitstamp 6 105.00 USD/BTC
*** Payouts 60+ days old are purged.
**** Total Unpaid is a combination of your confirmed Balance and your fluctuating total pending. This value will rarely be constant."
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Socket 775 for a mining rig on: October 30, 2017, 08:56:21 AM
775 stuff is getting pretty cheap;  as is the 1366....

I think the last similar system I ran was SLAED which was socket 771 3.0Ghz 1333Fsb;  Which used to cost a premium, but they are a pretty reasonable price now.   I had a lot of cpu mining machines in the past that were either Dell Precision 690, or a similar dual processor equivalent.   They were all pretty rock solid and handled multiple GPU as well... you should look into them since the price of a cpu went from $150 to ~$30 each now and a good second hand precision 690 chassis can also be had for pennies if you have the right sources... ~80-100 average on ebay now for a tower.  Most have a minimum of 750w power supply, while some of them come with 1000w PSU's.  I had no problem fitting a GTX980 and 960 in this machine for a long time running full blast, as well as mining xevan back when it was a young algo.

Food for thought.

I have no idea whos wallet that is.

My wallet is
http://www.zpool.ca/?address=CVoMLqgUR54rMoXib9xz3VAaghYwffp5Bw
it says centurion and paying out. but its a compound wallet so nothing is paying out.

cgminer/4.9.0   c=COMP   x11   84      22.2 GH/s

that is my miner that shows up
password is c=comp
but its still on CNT

please change my wallet type to COMP

same as if you changed a BCC to a BTC for other people. including myself

ok strange....  IDK why it was posted;   that is past the point anyways.

So;  Your address is CVoMLqgUR54rMoXib9xz3VAaghYwffp5Bw but it is still showing up CNT?

You should wait for a response from crackfoo.   Sadly; all payouts under "TX" are irreversable because they were already sent to a wallet.   I suggest trying a second COMP payout address;  this time with the proper password tag first "c=comp,x11" and see if it registers right.  IF it works correctly;  just chalk the other address up to a learning mistake on initial config. If it doesn't work, switching to a different coin like BTC for the short term until it is figured out is a smart idea.

If your first initial connection was using the wrong password string, it's not the fault of the pool, and is a strange thing because the pool has its DB records for CNT, and can't just swap over to another coin AFAIK;  especially with the same address.   Maybe crackfoo can transpose, but its complicated for even myself to wrap my head around how it could be done for things like earnings that are already on the exchange to be sold...

My EVGA 1070 FTW DT3 in a sealed up Define R5 case with 100% gpu load at stock clocks sits at 66c.  Low cfm fans in case, and the system is rather quiet.  It sits about 6Ft in front of me and I rarely notice its sound.....

You'd be surprised at how efficient those EVGA ACX3.0 coolers are....

DT3 is one of the 3 fan models though, as I recall - the SC is 2 fan.
Still good cooling, just not quite AS good.

typo; DT*

Its two fan.  But, its slightly over 2x card spacing.

Hashtap seems to be a source for exploitation by hackers so I doubt I will bring it back unless I'm able to source a developer to create a completely new frontend.

I havent been online.... it's sunday...

Did you read the replies above this about the exchange TX's?  This could factor in.

So you are saying in a block explorer you see the TX in 1NWzDxVQ8QEr9JrcjUfp1ukXLXNcypCop1, but then you check your QT wallet it does not have the balance?  None of that makes sense, so lemme look a little deeper:
