1241  Economy / Lending / Re: Willing to lend out 10btc on: February 27, 2012, 07:20:14 AM

I'll take it for 3% to be repaid on 03/05.. If you agree, send to:

16k9LgpXx4K4aWFYXqkHKm5cS6EwBJ89Xh

Can you clarify for the rest of the world that uses proper dates - 3 may or 5 mar.  (sorry, being picky - one of those is my birthday, and it's not march)
1242  Economy / Lending / Re: Willing to lend out 10btc on: February 27, 2012, 07:14:51 AM
Watching - yes, we have done a loan to malavita with no problem recently.  I have done a second loan today for a longer term/larger amount/better rates.

Hashking needs to start somewhere, and there is no particular issue with his approach or rates - it takes time to establish a loan book and work out who is good for repayments or not. (in fact, I would encourage them as it is forefront of the BTC economy for early 2012, but it still sucks big time to have a bad loan)

1243  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan Application to grow mining operations. [Closed] on: February 27, 2012, 03:27:45 AM
Loan repayment confirmed.  Thanks for making this an easy loan - better rates for next time.
1244  Economy / Lending / Re: 180 BTC Loan until Mar 29 on: February 26, 2012, 09:02:40 PM
Thanks - funded.

1246  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 1200 btc loan for mining hardware (w/ collateral) on: February 25, 2012, 08:58:35 AM
You would not believe how much work it takes to get 30Gh up and running, let along running 24/7 without issues.

I have a HUGE amount of respect for anyone who takes on this challenge and succeeds.
Sorry for my ignorance, but my PC hashes everyday without issue. What can be so hard about running a mining farm?

Try running a few boxes at their sweet spot and you'll learn about hardware as a consumable.  PSUs, hard disks and other drives drop out frequently.  I almost did a HD today (dropped it while running, but salvaged it via another box), burned/flame-out on a DVD drive and two HDs this week.  Even had a mouse that decided it didn't want to work, so out it goes with a doubious keyboard.  I've been lucky with GPUs, and haven't dropped one for a month or two, but I have replaces a fan or two.  Last week it was some ram/hd/graphis card.  Reinstalling a RMA gpu and mobo with stuff lying around and updates. Waiting on some kvm cables to load balance some circuits (pulling 2400 watts through a circuit tips sometimes due to the +/-5%). blah etc blah.  I only have about 6Ghash so nothing large, but I spend time keeping things ticking along.

You would be surprised how a minimal install machine can throw problems.  One I have that runs weeks on end, another resets for no reason at random times.  Some just freeze and need a kick.  First thing in the morning, check what's running and what stopped.

Roll on winter, then I can run another box or two.
1247  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 100 BTC loan over 28 days on: February 25, 2012, 08:46:42 AM
not sure what you mean patrick Smiley
so is anyone interested in helping? will be willing to do whatever required to prove legitimacy
Lol
I was thinking of a banana rather than a shoe, but the fruit reference is something different (and not Time Bandits - also probably obscure).  Don't worry, watching in any case.

(Being sensible) I'm guessing you have a penalty interest at month end or something similar.  However, in the interest of openness it wouldn't hurt to explain who this non-loan shark entity is and what the deal is.

(But for now, I need to sleep off some wine and get up early for a semi-competitive run tomorrow (stupid event) - much easier being lazy.  So I'll check back again tomorrow.
1248  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a loan. Have collateral on: February 25, 2012, 08:40:53 AM

 - it is possible to convert coins to cash fairly quickly, but it wasn't claimed that he actually did.  Maybe they went to the store with a credit card.

Of course he could have, but then he could have done it anyway without signing up to a forum, practically lay his life story in front of everybody, ask for a small amount of bitcoin, read and answer a bunch of replies from skeptical (rightfully so) people etc etc...

I'm not saying that this is a scam. Don't forget I wrote this:
If this works out there is still hope for humanity.....

I wasn't being sarcastic. I do believe there are good people and maybe just this time two managed to connect (the milkman and patrick).

But after I was burned on my very first loan here -and I admit I did no checking, I trusted the judgement of  veteran lenders here- Every deal here looks suspect to me. I would be very happy to see this loan work and restore a certain amount of trust in people.....

I too have some hope for humanity, but I leave most of the charity stuff to my wife because she is nicer than I am.  Sucks that your first loan went bad, but then that's the nature of the forum and the lending "game".  My preference is to help some, not get ripped by to many and earn some decent interest off others to fund the first and cover some of the second.  That's not an invitation to pick on my good-will, and I am known as "Mr Hold-a-grudge" to some.  (Ask my dead mother in law about that if you don't believe me.)
1249  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 100 BTC loan over 28 days on: February 25, 2012, 08:36:45 AM
oh, I would have appreciated it.  I was thinking of a random piece of fruit, but there is a subtle difference between a pineapple and a punnet of raspberries.  Beware the pointed stick (and if you understand the reference, I might fund some of this).
1250  Economy / Lending / Re: [OPEN] 50 BTC Loan - 14 Days - 5% Interest on: February 25, 2012, 02:14:44 AM
I can confirm that, fwiw. I'd do another loan with MMM if I had the coin.

Funded.
1251  Economy / Lending / Re: [FUNDED] Looking for 100 BTC Loan/Advance on mining proceeds. on: February 24, 2012, 09:31:51 PM
2nd instalment received - all good.  Thanks bitlane.
1252  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a loan. Have collateral on: February 24, 2012, 09:24:30 PM
I suspect betting on loan default might provide some people with an advantage.

Referring to some of the above comments:
 - yes they are new and never claimed knowledge of rexcoin - Matthew and Psy appear to have missed the mark with their responses.
 - it is possible to convert coins to cash fairly quickly, but it wasn't claimed that he actually did.  Maybe they went to the store with a credit card.
 - I still find it "interesting" that people are always looking for the bad in every deal that occurs, often when working with a very small amount of information.

?? So, the profile show he last posted in August 2011.  Why is this here six months later?

for the reading impaired, "I'd like to hear what all of you think."

I don't mind being called impaired, it goes with the "retarded" comment I've received elsewhere.

What I think is it is odd that we're being asked an opinion of a forum member that has not posted in the last six months.  I think I'd like to know why my (and others) are being polled for their opinion.
1254  Economy / Lending / Re: [NEED LOAN] 120 BTC for 15 Days on: February 24, 2012, 12:43:28 AM
well said Patrick

Lenders have a lot to gain by being honest and professional and I think as more and more lenders come into the market we will start to see more competition and better service, borrowers have a right to shop around and only take loans from the best lenders! Smiley

Thanks.

I had 60 coins sitting in a wallet I could have sent quickly (and pull in the rest from elsewhere), but wanted to see who else wanted to jump into the lending frame.  Nice to see znort provide the coin.

1256  Economy / Lending / Re: [NEED LOAN] 120 BTC for 15 Days on: February 24, 2012, 12:02:39 AM
To add to the comment, it helps if both sides can agree/discuss issues sensibly.  I would not wish to borrow from someone that changes their mind, is annoying, or excessively demanding.

As an example, I did a loan with Electricbees a while ago - He was good and let me know what was happening when he was scammed, and I gave away the interest payment.  In a similar vein, I was contacted this morning by someone who asked for an extension in time that we reached agreement on.
1257  Economy / Lending / Re: [BITCOIN LONDON] Looking for an 150 BTC loan! on: February 23, 2012, 01:49:26 AM
We could send something, but Goons might be welcome - they were very funny and popular in England and other parts of the Commonwealth.  How about the Knights who say Ni?
1258  Economy / Lending / Re: [FUNDED]: Need a 100 BTC advance. on: February 22, 2012, 07:40:11 PM
I have received the repayment so that end of it is all fine.  I haven't funded the 100 yet as I'd like to get funds back from DoubleIcarus first.
1259  Economy / Lending / Re: 5 BTC Loan on: February 22, 2012, 06:20:29 PM
I assume you want to start lending coins for income - got to start somewhere.  I could loan you 5 coins for a 5.5 payback, but that would take half your capital.  There are a few deposit takers around (including myself) and it's a case of looking for what suits.
Maybe not necessarily for income, but I'd like to build my reputation so I could have the option to borrow money if I really need it.

If you could loan me 5 coins I will gladly pay back 5.5 bitcoins in 24 hours, my address is in my signature if you are interested Smiley

i'd like to take up the offer and have sent the 5 btc.

(sorry patrick usually people jump in ahead of me... gotta be quick Wink)

bitcoinhero, please repay to 1KJF4eLE12sSZkHP7eDzyYKMy6kGjWYr6A

@payb.tc - No problem.  Happy to watch from the sidelines.
