Its a waste of time to watch it  though.....  Grin

They can only grade 5oz coins that are 3" in size, and this one is 2.5" which makes it thicker than their case can hold.

I'm assuming typo?   Cheesy   Last time I checked, 2.5" fits inside of 3"?

Nope, no typo.  The smaller diameter makes it a thicker coin.  Too thick for their cases.
Ah got ya, I didn't realize the diameter directly corresponds to the thickness of the coin, thanks for the clarification!

EDIT: Seems like US Minted coins go up in thickness as the diameter increases?... I guess I'm showing my noob nature to physical coins again.

The whale is relatively a small animal compared to how big some things are. You should really take a step back and reevaluate your life. You should do some research before talking nonsense.
There is no correlation with those 2 sizes, nor is there probably going to be one. The biggest star (known) is ~1700 times bigger than our sun. You should stop talking numbers that are never going to happen.

Based on your next reply I'm going to evaluate if I should ignore you.

If anyone is interested, for $50 I will have them ANACS graded for you before shipping out.  PM me if that's something you want to participate in.
It doesn't appear ANACS grades this size of a coin, but if you confirm that they will grade it, I'd be interested.
(Sorry for not PMing, based on prior experience I'd rather keep communications public at this point!  Wink)

1246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Cop just told me, "Freedom doesn't exist anymore." on: June 18, 2015, 05:48:36 PM
Again, time of day had nothing to do with it.  Weird that people are so focused on that.  Perhaps most people don't understand the need to get yard work done early when it will be 115 degrees outside.  I'll say it one last time, this was not an issue of noise or had anything to do with the time of day.  If it was something so trivial, I wouldn't have felt the need to post it.  This was a cop probably 10 years younger than me who made a bad judgement and used the threat of jail to cover his tracks and intimidate.  I just wanted to highlight that.  If you want to take the police officer's side for why I'm at fault for clearly not breaking any laws, I'd venture to say you are what is wrong with America.  Even police officers have to follow the laws and can't threaten people with jail based on their opinions.

Edit: I was blowing dust off my driveway which a rake wouldn't help.  Quite normal in the desert.  I heard 2 neighbors do it this morning at roughly the same time I did.  It is so common that me being confronted by police for doing it and then urged to install cameras on my property gave me such a strange feeling I felt the need to post it online somewhere.
Did you get the impression he actually thought you were breaking the law and got aggressive when you corrected him?  or do you think he was just making up a false charge just to harass you?  ....I guess the latter is what I thought you were saying with the OP, but the bolded statement makes sense to me and this is definitely not a good reaction to the situation by any police officer, or human being for that matter.

I'm also curious what the 'other discussions' mentioned in the OP were that went on before he made the comment?
I just want to clarify that you didn't come up to him throwing up gang signs and saying "wha wha mother$*#$, I know the law $*#*$, get out of my face!" and had some level of respectfulness?   Wink

In any case, I would hope this is an isolated incident... I'm not sure how old you are, but it sounds like the cop might have been a newer police officer?

If it were me, as long as I am within my legal right to do so, I'd be out there the next morning leaf blowing, with a recording device and/or witnesses, but would still have a level of respect in the situation... the same level of respect I would give to any person, not just a cop.  Grin
1247  Other / Meta / Re: Help!!! Loan repaid but trust ratings not removed on: June 17, 2015, 02:22:40 PM
It doesnt really work like that. It took you almost a year to pay back a loan. Looks to me like you've only paid it back because you've realised your account is worth more than what you scammed.
i was not much active on bitcointalk during this time, and had no money to repay, after i got some money i decided to repay my debt
i want to be active on forum again and want to keep this account  and join signature campaigns

my account is member and i repaid 0.005btc, I also promised to donate extra 0.01btc to any non profit org. that accepts bitcoin donation as soon as i get my first payment from signature campaign

i am just asking for second chance to be a good member of bitcointalk

It is a great day when a scammer is convinced to send the coins back to his victim, even a small amount, but unfortunately its based on his own self-motivated interests. The account has age to it, which adds value, and gives the scammer the potential to increase his activity count easier, skipping up through the ranks to likely scam for a larger amount.

Nevertheless, this repayment doesn't erase the 11 months that it was defaulted with no communication. You clearly had no intention to send the coins back until you realized your account could be used to make much more money than the loan amount, the *promise* of a donation on top of your loan repayment is to gain sympathy, but until your *potential* giveaways start equalling the value of the account, I can't take you seriously. Not to mention, your word/promise at this point means nothing.
All of this makes you extremely untrustworthy.

And on a personal note, I would rather not have an old scammer account posting crap to increase activity and trying to get $$ for a signature campaign. But that's just me.  Grin

this post history appears like he actually repaid the loan back in 2014... when in fact, we all know that post was edited recently (June 16th, 2015). Just seems like something that should show up in the post history  Undecided

Your telling me a cop just walked up to you and said this without no official noise complaint from a neighbor or someone around you?

---snip---
I wasn't doing anything illegal or breaking any laws.  The police officer was 100% in the wrong.  You don't have to believe me though.  There will inevitably be those who are ignorant and short sighted who will support a police state.  I just wanted to share this story.  I guess without a clip of the cop saying it though, this is just the ramblings of an irritated citizen.

People who support police are not short sighted and ignorant. They are worried about their safety and want someone to protect them, their family, and their community from bad people. That being said, there is a correct way to have a police presence and an incorrect way, and unfortunately a lot of police departments are swaying towards the incorrect way (all with "good" intentions, but failing badly and jeopardizing freedom in the process). Politicians are a large part of the problem.

Your situation is a little hard to believe without a complaint from someone else though... unless there are details being left out, like did you forget to get dressed before you went out and started leaf blowing?    Lips sealed

1251  Other / Off-topic / Re: IS UFO or ALIENS are real ? on: June 16, 2015, 05:53:23 PM
I don't know why this thread continues... its obvious to me that there are aliens, and not only bacteria sitting on some distant plant, but full-blown intelligent species of aliens. Multiple species across the universe. There are enough credible witnesses, videos, and physical evidence provided by soil samples, plant/tree samples, unknown foreign material in abduction victims, etc. to attest to this. I would hypothesize the Government has known about extraterrestrials since the 40s/50s and gained a lot of knowledge, information, and technology in the 60s-70s, also the time that smear campaigns and discredit techniques were refined and perfected.

Prior generations were naive and accepted the Government's explanations because they believed they were listening to someone they could trust. We need to INDEPENDANTLY question and fully investigate every report of UFOs, abduction, and other supernatural occurrences and all will come to light.   Cool

1252  Other / Meta / Re: An apology... on: June 16, 2015, 11:16:02 AM
Well people can say that they think that they "know exactly what I am thinking" but that does not make it true.

Obviously if I really thought what you are saying I did then I would not have posted unless I actually *wanted negative trust*. Cheesy

(or do you believe that was what I was actually after?)

I have no doubt that anger, and *maybe* a few beers (alcohol is no excuse), clouded that part of your judgement - the part that thinks about getting negative trust and the long-term effects, but it seemed clear to me that people were believing what you were saying, and you continued, in order to reach your end goal of getting the posts removed (extortion).
1253  Other / Meta / Re: An apology... on: June 16, 2015, 11:09:44 AM
To be honest I never thought completely knew that my "stunt" postS was were actually going to be *believed* because BadBear called me out immediately for extortion and I continued the story, but perhaps that was because I had drank a few too many beers that night.

The offline storage is actually on USB "flash drives" so the "offline PC" isn't really important at all (apart from it staying offline).

Anyone who actually knew about the CIYAM Safe (which is what I had publicly stated before I was using to hold the forum's funds) would know that it is a Live OS but seemingly @theymos and the mods were not aware of this and took my "stunt" post as being "for real".

FTFY. You wanted people to believe it, that's obvious, whether it happened or not. And insanely enough, your plan worked because the posts were removed, and now I can never fucking know what actually pissed you off so bad. Thanks mods.

Don't take offense, I don't know you personally, but it wasn't just one post, you carried the story along several posts and maintained that you lost control of the coins due to a rogue wife (which is completely believable). There is a certain type of character that reacts like this when they are angry, and there is a type of person who doesn't. I am glad you came to your senses, and impressed with your release of the coins and I would hope the trust would be converted to neutral with a full explanation, but IMO your actions show you should not be trusted with large sums of the forums coins.
1254  Economy / Lending / Re: need a small btc loan on: June 12, 2015, 09:20:58 PM
Can you show the blockchain transaction for the payments mentioned in this thread?   and can you sign a message from any of the addresses used for this prior loan?
1255  Other / Meta / Re: Member list columns on: June 06, 2015, 06:19:25 PM
That is not needed. You shouldn't judge a person by looking at trust score.
You shouldn't judge a person by looking at the post count, but that's on there... there are other reasons to have the column listed.  Wink

Maybe we should judge people by their ICQ number. Old ICQ numbers certainly show some maturity.

I think the problem is that the information on the member page is the same for everyone and can thus easily be cached. The trust score is greatly dependant on your personal trust list and thus would need to query the entire database every time you view the page. Thats probably a bit heavy on the server.

For my intents and purposes, it could be based on the DefaultTrust list and could be cached. I didn't want to shout this from the rooftops, but my hope was to be able to zone in on higher-up accounts being sold/bought. Trust count is a value that usually has to be partially disclosed by the seller in order to inspire buyers and add more value to their account, and could be cross-referenced with the memberlist to at least narrow down what accounts could be sold/bought, and then monitor those accounts more closely for scams. I could go into further details on my thoughts, but I'd rather not.

I realize a lot of people seem to be fine with allowing accounts to be bought/sold, but when accounts with high trust, legendary status, etc. are being sold, I really think it creates a bad atmosphere on this forum and opens up a high potential for *large* scams when someone smart enough buys out one (or multiple) of those accounts. Escrows could be bought/sold, so don't give me the "just make sure you use escrow and no worries".

One fear, if this isn't already happening, is that this will evolve to people starting alts with a new wallet, building them up, then selling their 'wallet.dat' files with their account to allow someone to 100% take an account as if he IS the original owner.

I think I understand Satoshis goal of a "trustless" system, but never being able to establish trust, even with someone you've dealt with numerous times, IMO stifles trading volume and the market in general, and creates more potential for large scale scams.

The forum can't stop it, but what about just a rule that says you can't sell your account through an alt, only the account being sold is the one you can post the sale from?... to try and open up transparency a little more?  I realize they could just goto another forum and make the sale but I'm not sure its great having full support from the forum for buying/selling forum accounts.

Any chance on getting the trust score added as one of the columns in the 'member list' ?
1258  Economy / Auctions / Re: LEGENDARY ACCOUNT FOR SALE on: June 05, 2015, 05:20:34 PM
Account registered in 2011
I can't say more for privacy reasons (I could by PM for really interested people).

Yes I know how to sign a message. I can do it in case there is anyone really interested in the deal.
I am interested in any details you can provide, please PM.
1259  Economy / Auctions / Re: LEGENDARY ACCOUNT FOR SALE on: June 05, 2015, 05:14:24 PM
You have not mentioned the most important part either how long ago can you sign a message from?

I don't know what you mean. I don't find any option to sign anything in my profile.
But feel free to make a low-ball offer. At worst it will be ignored.
It sounds like you are not the original owner of the account?  I would assume most actual legendary members know what it means to sign?
1260  Economy / Auctions / Re: LEGENDARY ACCOUNT FOR SALE on: June 05, 2015, 05:11:16 PM
When was the account registered/created?
Can you provide an actual trust count?
