Now my Cube is working properly (new PSU fixed the issues I had), I can confirm that it hashes quicker through Slush's Proxy than it does through BFG's proxy.
Through BFG it never reports more than 30GH. Even after an hour it was still stuck at around 30GH. It's running a 37.5GH and still rising through Slush's proxy, and only been running through that for about 10 mins.
Both BFG and Slush's are running on the same machine (Celeron NUC running Windows 7 x86).
I'm curious if -q fixes this. Can you let me know?

Theoretically, an address and a transaction are just different ways to refer to the same thing. An address is an identifier for a transaction that may not have been created/signed yet.

Previous Bitfountain (aka "ASICMiner") products did not support long polling, but it is certainly beneficial and perhaps worth adding to BFGMiner.

I'm getting a lot of reject (30%) from eligius. I have a BFL SC 7GH/s, Arch Linux and bfgminer 3.8.1, What could be wrong? Thanks!
what kind of rejects?

Is it possible you implement stratum proxy for cgminer connections? I get H-not-zero errors and it looks like more people ran into the same. You would be a hero of a lot of people if you implement that This is a bug in cgminer. Any working stratum client can handle the proxy fine.

I'm not sure you want to fix this, or if you want to support this. I suspect it is not just PPC issue, all alts pools will have the same issue.
You can't run different blockchains at the same time. BFG loads whatever coin's chain on startup, and won't change it, so you can't flip between BTC and whatever other SHA junkcoin Just wanted to put some official acknowledgement that HellDiverUK's response here is correct (mainly because I get asked it often). This is clearly stated in the README since forever. *gminer has never worked with multiple blockchains in the same instance. Maybe some day I'll get around to rewriting enough code to make it work, but it's not really a priority. If someone else wants to try to do this, I'll consider merging the code - but it's definitely far from simple!

Not to take away from Peters wonderful challenge to the world but shouldn't this have been better directed at the ECDSA weaknesses implied by Schnier assuming of course this was his motivation for posting this?
All of Satoshi's coins are a reward for breaking the ECDSA, since they are not protected by the RIPEMD160 hash function. Stealing someone's coins by breaking ECDSA is not the same as a reward specifically for breaking something. Also, this has nothing to do with "Satoshi's coins". All block rewards generated by bitcoind's internal miner or getwork are at risk.

I'm using bfgminer to mine litecoin, but it keeps showing me the speed in mhs or ghs instead of khs , is ther any way to set it to show khs , im mining on give-me-coins and it does show that i am mine scypt.
I don't care to investigate or fix this. Patches welcome from anyone who does... (there's also an opening for official BFGMiner scrypt lead maintainer)

wizkid057,Luke-Jr,
Can you share instructions how to install bfgminer on KncMiner Jupiter? Temporarily or permanently?
https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer/blob/bfgminer/README.ASIC#L153There's a suggested workaround in that github issue until they fix it. If anyone wants to share a known-working workaround patch, I can setup a branch to make it easier... Any chance of getting a pre-compiled bfgminer like we can get for cgminer? Bertmod has been distributing binaries. Problem is either they or I would need a known-working workaround patch... I don't have a Nov unit to test on.

Luke-Jr, I can't see what you wrote, but please respect my wishes and stay away.
No, you don't get to demand this while continuing to slander me.

My impression is that Luke-Jr isn't really interested in a new tech, more convenient though it may be. Continuing to troll does not help your case. I said nothing of the sort.

For example, using the challenge-verify mechanism that Luke-Jr showed above, you can use an unsigned transaction as the challenge and the user would sign it and send the signature to the malicious attacker. No, you can't. First, the challenge must be an understandable message, not just random-looking data. Second, the message is internally prepended with a prefix before signing, to ensure this very thing doesn't happen. Finally, it is not valid to sign a message with a key that has been used as an address in a transaction already, only unused addresses.

Addresses aren't identities.
Let's not get pedantic. An address is something that can be used to identify an account, which could be used as an identity. That's how social security numbers, driver's licenses and the like work. No. An address does not identify an account. Side note: social security numbers are also not to be used for identity purposes. Of course an address identifies an account. That's what the whole blockchain is, a list of accounts and who owns what. If you're just going to troll, I'd rather you not do this on this thread. No, perhaps you should learn how bitcoin works before trying to extend it with functionality that mostly already exists anyway... sigh

The point of them using secp256k1 was so that people could use the same keys from bitcoin. This is a useful thing? How? Not sure, you'd have to ask them, but I'd imagine it's because your identity is the same in both blockchains and some applications that use both can be made. Addresses aren't identities.

1. I'm trying to get an MSI Z87-G45 mb running Win8.1 to mine with 7 cards but it only mines with 5. Windows Device Manager recognizes all 7 cards. Any ideas on how I can get cards 6 and 7 to mine Use Linux, Windows doesn't support 7 GPUs. Funny then, why are there several motherboards made expressly to run 7 graphics cards??? Maybe because not everyone uses Windows?
