1301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoins vanished in one day when we woke up? on: April 20, 2023, 04:18:43 PM
To eradicate the bitcoin's blockchain network the governments have to shut down the internet all around the world or have to destroy each and every operating node which is practically impossible to happen so the direct and actual answer to your question is NO.

But your wallet may be drained overnight and the balance will be zero when you wake up which may happen to anyone if their device is infected or they gave their private keys unintentionally to someone, etc.
1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your tips and tricks to orange pill your family and friends on: April 20, 2023, 09:56:38 AM
I guess that many of you have already tried to orange pill family or friends. Personally, I've totally given up on the idea.

Some people have asked me to invest a few hundred euros for them, in which case I would have to be their banker... They don't even want to know how to install a wallet or even buy a hardware wallet. In short, I refuse to be a banker.

And you, have you also given up? Or are you persevering with unstoppable tricks?

Actually I don't want them to, you may call myself selfish which is true somehow but the main reason is I don't want to mix up finance with relationship because it mostly will end up in bad situation so just let them what they do and if tou feel they are doing something wrong then you can give your suggestions about how to succeed from it but its their choice to decide what to do and we can't analyse or force someone to invest in something what we are interested.
1303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin to cash with simple steps. on: April 20, 2023, 07:26:53 AM
The simple step is just sell your Bitcoin for fiat that's it and you can use any platform which suits your criteria for example if you never want your bank to know where that money came from then use decentralized exchange/p2p but it only works with small amounts cause over certain limits you will be under the radar if income tax and blah and when you file tax compliance then you will stuck if a big stash has no actual proof where it came from so you will he either paid the highest tax slab for that money or in worst case it can be seized until you provide the proof of its source.
1304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 19, 2023, 06:44:01 PM
So I have to pay $9 ETH to transfer 70 USDT I just received, out of my wallet? And worse, transferring any amount of ETH will set you back $3 in gas fees.

I've just converted most of my ETH to BTC, and have $0.5 left in metamask. It claims to have an "advanced gas control" when you hit Send, but it's not showing me that.

Is there a way for me to lower the gas fees from metamask, or otherwise import the wallet into some other software?

There's a small edit button that people often miss when you send eth.

( Pic source is a screenshot crop from some youtube instructions so don't let the price fool you. )

After that comes a window with all kinds of settings. You can set your gas limit manually or choose from advanced options or just click from 3 send choices: Low, Medium And High priority. If you don't know what you are talking about it might be better to choose from those 3 options.

I admit that edit button is too tiny and i didn't click that before either.

Possibly this is the solution but I haven't used metamask for long time and even when I use I generally use the high priority because I don't like to wait too long which makes me frustrated. Anyhow even with ETH2.0 the problem still exists which is kind of worry for the future of ethereum because the alternatives are offering lower transaction time and fee but decentralisation is the only difference if I am not wrong.
1305  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 19, 2023, 04:30:39 PM
It can work in both ways depends on what is our strategy to pay it back with the money we borrow but practically someone can't take a loan when they are already in debt cause there credit line will show the instructions about pay back power of a person so they can only get it from someone they know which is hard to get as well nowadays.

Change your spending life style, don't trap into the lifestyle inflation that is where most middle class working people get trapped.
1306  Other / Meta / Re: AI-generated post discussion thread: how to identify & report on: April 19, 2023, 03:28:09 PM
Honestly the best tool is yet to be found since we are at the beginning of AI so the existing tools are somehow inaccurate especially when the spammers use to spin the AI generated post. Also read that next version of open AI launched already which is more capable of its previous version so the creative industry is going to stumble due to this AI evolution.

Now let's talk about AI posts on bitcointalk the only possible way is when we think that someone is using AI tool for making post then we should use AI detectors also seek community help for further discussion.
1307  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification on Plagiarism Rule and Policy on: April 19, 2023, 10:33:19 AM
To help clarify this important issue, I would like to start a discussion about the plagiarism rule and policy on bitcointalk.org. Specifically, I would like to address the following questions:

What qualifies as plagiarism on the forum?
What are the consequences for violating the plagiarism rule?
How can users ensure that their posts are original and do not violate the plagiarism rule?
Are there any exceptions or nuances to the plagiarism rule that users should be aware of?

1. Copying an article of someone and post it as yours is generally people tend to follow on bitcointalk
2. Permanent ban.
3. Don't copy anything from internet to post it here, you can take reference before posting but don't take credits for someone else content.
4. Pictures that seems the possible exception to my knowledge.

P.S if you really want to post an article which you think it maybe useful for others then simply copy the post and use
Code:
[quote url=(copy the original link) (copy and paste the article that you want to post) [/quote]
1308  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: April 18, 2023, 03:24:11 PM
Can you make bets on horses that are AI vs making bets on real horses? I see a new gambling project that focuses on horse racing only and I am surprised that those horses are not real live horses, I went deep doing research and it kinda looks like players will be the ones fine-tuning their horses 🐎 for better performance and go ahead to head with other players.

Do you think that gambling have a place with the metaverse in the future? I had a dream about being able to gamble online with people that aren't living close to me, we meet in the metaverse and it looks real, I know that sometimes when you think positively about something it is possible to dream about it.

It's more of a gaming than we say it as gambling because it involves skills of the players so I think it's some kind of eSports activity. Metaverse is a technology which is still being developed and with the evolution of AI its not that far to achieve and there is no doubt that it will give us the better experience compared to online gaming/gambling.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we should play on minor gambling platform? on: April 18, 2023, 02:10:40 PM
Hi there guys,

Since I've seen what happened to Coinplay, my question was: Why we should play with minor gambling platform, and not use only gambling platform like Stake, CloudBet, fortunejack ecc. which ensure us good games, 100%

of safety in terms of withdrawal and provably fair (about games)? This question is also for the owners of gambling platform, maybe they can help to reply it.
Not every company started with billion dollars so the same goes with gambling sites too, they start from scratch and if they are giving best user experience and customer satisfaction then they will become a potential candidate to grow up in future. If you just want to stick with the reputed site alone then its your choice and its safest option too but don't forget monopoly on anything is bad for the future.
1310  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is shutting down on: April 18, 2023, 09:35:37 AM
-snip-
Binance is a good choice but I don't prefer centralized exchange's p2p because when we cash out from the platform the funds will be deposited via exchange

What do you mean by that? It's not really any different than Paxful or LBC.

I'm not sure if I understood you correctly, but when you deposit, you can deposit directly to the Funding wallet (the one used for P2P trading) and when withdrawing, you should be able to withdraw from either (Spot/funding). You're not required to move funds between accounts and then withdraw.
I don't do crypto to crypto day trading, I am only doing crypto to fiat and vice versa.

So, I am concerned about withdrawing fiat which is different from p2p, ofcourse we can use Binance p2p but the offers are low and also the tranders are known or atleast under the radar of cryptocurrency activities via their bank account which I certainly want to avoid because I remember your funds in bank account can be frozen because the trader you conducted a trade has a connection with funds received from a hacked bank account.
1311  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is shutting down on: April 18, 2023, 08:27:00 AM
The news is shocking to me as well because those two P2P which are LBC and Paxful operated for years now shutting down one by one, for me it's still hard to find the alternative after LBC since I used to be a day trader. So what are there real alternatives now?

If you don't care about KYC, then Binance is a good alternative and it doesn't have any fees.

Binance is a good choice but I don't prefer centralized exchange's p2p because when we cash out from the platform the funds will be deposited via exchange which I don't prefer for some reasons but I want to state that cryptocurrency is not banned and Binance also available. When it comes to p2p I still prefer the traditional p2p exchange whether it needs kyc or not because I am comfortable with KYC and I do trade for big amounts so certainly I have to atleast do ID verification to get decent limit.
1312  Other / Meta / Re: Too much post deleted result to tempo ban on: April 16, 2023, 04:31:29 PM
Maybe it's not spammy but it may doesn't add any value to the thread or discussion for that reason your post maybe deleted, I do remember my posts were deleted on one of my thread created while replying to someone but the post of that person is there so the system is not 100% perfect but it's the best of what we have.

AFAIK, getting 20 to 30 posts getting deleted in a row can get you a temp ban but it's just approx and as mentioned above it depends on the mod who handles it and as per case by case.
1313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How true is this statement? on: April 16, 2023, 07:36:50 AM
Wicked said! Lol, that's someone's name, he said the longer you use bitcoin as your unit of account, the more you begin to realize that it doesn't make sense to make any long term investments with your bitcoin savings...not even in some the best performing stocks from the past few years. They're all down in terms of bitcoin.

How true is this statement? I thought bitcoin wallet is best for storing long term investment, since no physical companies are to be trusted 100%, people uses bitcoin wallet to established good investment plans but seeing lead to ask questions of why and how true, which means no where is safe for life investment.
If I am not wrong Tesla stocks were performing good compared to other well known tech stocks after 2021 but if you compare the ROI of best performed stocks with bitcoin the numbers have huge difference so it means more longer you hold bitcoin then you can expect higher returns than stock investment.

Moving on to next question whether we can trust the bitcoin wallets for storing of bitcoin for years, of course you can since you are in complete control of your wallet unlike stocks which is in account of centralized platforms you only access via that third party.
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Speculation & Gambling" - Warren Buffett Critisize on: April 15, 2023, 05:21:27 PM
As said many times the usual stock market traditional investors can't accept the growth of bitcoin especially the ROI which is atleast 10 times higher so they realise that they missed the train and few managed to invest even later cause they understand in future the value will be too high compared to current value but few like Buffet stubborn to change his views no matter what but it's his choice and he doesn't understand the blockchain technology that's it.
1315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be more useful in this forum on: April 15, 2023, 03:57:18 PM
I just wondering, how to be more useful and productive on this forum.
I am determined to do a contribution in here but no matter how hard I try I failing to execute my determination.
So dear seniors and good peoples, can you please give me some simple but effective Direction to improve me?
It will be honor to have some Direction..

I am not sure that you really have the intention of contributing because you're trying to get merits and joining bounties.

Just be yourself and learn about everything from others which can be about anything not just crypto and if your really wanted to rank up and looking for financial benefits then you also need to change your posting behaviour.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tilt in gambling on: April 14, 2023, 08:58:11 PM
Almost every gambler and gamer might experienced this just out of frustration when you lost a bet or game and it's a very common thing nothing to be worried even in worst cases we might end up breaking our device whether it's a smartphone or laptop.

But on professional level it may happen in their mind level but they won't be showing cause it may damage to their name/ reputation.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 14, 2023, 06:02:20 PM
Yes that's an unfair term but we can't call them as scammers for such terms since it's our responsibility to go through all their terms and conditions before making any deposit but honestly most people don't realise the importance of reading it until they stuck into a situation like this.

There is nothing wrong by exposing the name of the site because it may be helpful for others to do the right thing at their initial deposit.
1318  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🛑 Be aware from these type of scammer 🚫 ☠ on: April 14, 2023, 04:20:07 PM
So the take from the thread is don't do any trades related to bitcointalk members outside the platform because it's easy to impersonate via telegram like apps so anyone really want to send any message will make us of PM feature available on bitcointalk and then proceed using chat apps for convenience purpose.
1319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 13, 2023, 06:41:35 PM
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?
Tha name Satoshi is coming from Japan if I am not which is an Asian country then how can you simply throw people apart drom EU and USA don't know what is bitcoin which isn't acceptable.

Maybe more people invested on bitcoin from that region because they had money to invest but as of now middle class of third world countries are considering bitcoin along with gold for long term investment which shows how much they realised about bitcoin but when we are talking about majority of people nowhere its happening so time will let us know everything.
1320  Economy / Economics / Re: Automating your savings will help you save more on: April 13, 2023, 03:31:13 PM
It will not work for long term because one who maintain financial discipline and follow their 70:30 or whatever they decided to save will save it no matter what so since we are talking about the people who doesn't have such discipline will simply use the savings for something they wanted over time that is what immediate gratification. To achieve delayed gratification one must go through most difficult stage of their life then they will know the significance of money and why they need to save it instead of spending it some something that is not really beneficial for them.
