I hate bitcoinica for using mtgox, but I love bitcoinica because of Zhou, and his professionalism. Who would you rather support people ? I love that you listen and act Zhou.. dont stop.

I will just say this, not letting the market move in whatever direction, and hitting the * wall, will cause repeated explosions..
Not to mention mtgox is a Vic 20, and bitcoinica is a supercomputer in comparison.. Why dont we all use the fast computer ?

How about you just untie yourself from MtGox. You've become a dog wagging tail and while I personally find nothing wrong with it, so long as you advertise very clearly your lack of funds when people deposit money (rather than when they attempt to liquidate), if you want to make people here happy, you're going to need to operate more like a dark pool.
Im glad im not the only one that sees this need.. I will launch a poll about that. It wont be easy, but if you care about the community as a whole, mtgox needs competition, they are getting fat and lazy from your site, and its still a single point of failure.. Your the only one that has the potential volume!

Nice guys, nice. Amazing how stupid people are... New term, Kim Jong Unned (owned)

I will start using bitcoinica again when bitcoinica stops using Mtgox for its trading..
This is the problem.. Zhou, your the only man out there that can compete, better to do it now, then wait for the compitition to catch up.

those walls are meaningless
vaporwalls
Ya, after the last two days, good point... Im in awe, truly...

Im really unsure of where we are headed on this one so I am sitting on the sidelines right now. About 70% in cash and 30% in BTC. If we spike below 5 again I will grab up all the coins I can..
All cash here, waiting. At this price, it would seem we're right back to where we were before the massive dump/spike. But that depth chart on the bid side is a long flat wasteland with nary a wall. Here's the view in the other direction. Hahahhahah, exactly! At least the view is nice....

This all adds up to 5 to 1 on avg for everyone..
I fail to see how this will help volatility.
Is not a delayed liquidation one way to go ? albeit hard
The liquidations happen because of the faux liquid market you are building here..
On further thought, its more like 4 to 1 levy for everyone
Liquidations happen because irrational people overleverage. There is a big warning about this when they sign up. I was long 100 BTC during the drop, but I still had enough margin to buy 50@$5.15 before it recovered. I'm back in the green already. If you don't like bitcoinica, fine, but let those of us who use it communicate with Zhoutong instead of slinging insults. Im not slinging insults, I made a modest 3 bitcoins from this mess, no complaints.. But I see a bigger issue here, you should open your eyes..

Their equipment is older than apollo 13

With the big drop we just had I think my question is more relevant than ever.
Changing my opinion on Zhou after watching this manipulation... I will not be using bitcoinica, and I have lost NO money, but I can see how this is hurting us..

Stability comes with more educated speculators / more money in the system. I guess today was a good lesson.
I think it suffices to transfer the money to the more sane speculators. The bottom peak order that got the last Bitcoinica liquidations was mine. Om nom nom. I'm selling the coins again right now lol. Already got over 2k through, instant profit is instant. And it was just so predictable. I was laying out the pieces in the forum, am I supposed to tell people where to place orders for free money now? Pff. After I saw the depth shift dramatically yesterday, I got out fast... bitcoinica was a ticking time bomb...

Everyone is in denial...
Zhoutounged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so... Zhou sold a gigantic stash of BTC on MtGox... in huge lumps. It was leveraged at 120,000 ASK-BTC, vs. 28,000 BID-BTC, for a couple hours. Then I would see 128k, jump to 60k, and think "phew", and then in the next 30-sec reload it'd be back over 100k again, so someone or some program was literally just shovelling on another 30k, and cackling demonically, right? Would it even make sense for Z to do this? Financially? Or are there old miners left hoarding their 400,000 BTC stashes? Or was it a coordinated panic? What d'you guys think?
How is tripping the liquidate levels for tons of people Bad for Zhou ?
|
|
|
now that exactly what I have been talking about happened...
Any questions as to why bitcoinica is not doing us any good ?
Why do you think that swing was bad? People who had buy orders at 4.6 disagree Hey rape away, I just want to see some stability.
