1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: November 01, 2014, 01:54:20 AM
Could someone post an example of a the proper api string for Poloniex's trading api "returnBalances"?

From the info gleamed off https://www.poloniex.com/api I know I can get an error message by using the following:
Code:
https://www.poloniex.com/tradingApi?command=returnBalances

But I don't know where or how to add Key and Sign to the headers. This is the only description given on the site:

Quote
All calls to the trading API are sent via HTTP POST to https://poloniex.com/tradingApi and must contain the following headers:

Key - Your API key.
Sign - The query's POST data signed by your key's "secret" according to the HMAC-SHA512 method.

Additionally, all queries must include a "nonce" POST parameter. The nonce parameter is an integer which must always be greater than the previous nonce used.

I'd love an example showing the proper inclusion of the Key and Sign string.
Forgive me, I'm just learning some of this stuff.

you are more likely to get a faster correct response if you pose the matter to poloniex via the chat area.  It's a long question so you will need to be creative with but I think that will be more effective

good luck

Mintpal is still down! But you can trade Aricoin on https://cryptex.biz/market/70

I also hope Mintpal will be up asap.

I like how the cryptex site looks but given how Mintpal went down I want some hard facts about any new exchange to the marketplace,
who are you and what are all of your names, photos, and references.

I agree! but still I have learned my lesson! Smiley I have almost all my coins in my wallet on my computer... that is the safest way! when I fill selling bigger amounts I just send coins on the exchange. same with buying.

but for now I trust Cryptex more than 100% (more that I have ever trusted Mintpal) admins there are awsome!

my friend your coins are not safe on a computer, put them on a multi-sig paper wallet and place the wallet in various places then your coins are safe.

I have few coins on exchange, I don't want any of them lost, but that's not the main issue, the CC industry has tremendous potential it is going down the tubes specifically because of the massive number of scams.  The last Gox matter was actually his third strike, he managed to strike out and hit a grand slam at the same time.   1/4 billion dollar scam.  The CC industry can't support all of the fraud, it needs safety, security, trust, fidelity, and integrity.

References from individuals are no longer enough.

A Brighter Future For Einsteinium

Early in this administration I expressed the importance of volunteers in my plan for the successful redevelopment of Einsteinium, sadly we didn't get the response we needed.

Given our extremely limited resources we knew we had to create vehicles by which the ongoing care and maintenance of the coin is secure; we knew that we needed to create a reliable system whereby Einsteinium could get increased and sustain exposure; and we knew that much of the future increased value of EMC2 was likely outside of our current community's walls.

We knew we had to expand our horizons, not just to think outside of the box but also outside of the community, our radical thinking rendered a truly ambitious endeavor.

Key to this plan is The Einsteinium News.  The Einsteinium News is a cryptocurrency-community generated  publication.  Each story is self-written meaning each author is writing about his coin, her company, their product, her service, and/or himself; some are pros most are not, all have a message to share with the larger community.

The Einsteinium News will provide increased and sustained short and long term visibility to thousands of cryptocurrency enthusiasts,
The Einsteinium News will create a revenue stream that will provide for some care and maintenance of the coin,
and
The Einsteinium News will enable this administration to be sufficiently connected to the larger community such as to make EMC2 a stable force.

The publication starts with 7 expandable sections:
1) Current news & info - the first 3 pages
2) Shopping - a place to buy/sell goods/services using any currency w/automatic escrow
3) A conversation - valuable resource for coins undergoing rehabilitation and redevelopment,
4) Cause-coins -  a space just for the cause coins,
5) Giveaways -  a place for special promotions for our readers,
6) New crypto - for coins newly introduced to the CC industry
7) Safety and security - tips on how to keep coin investment safe

The site is located at www.Einsteinium.biz, although it is currently sparse for content you have a good idea of our intent for the site.   We will conduct a soft launch in a couple days to share the site with a larger audience after that we expect an abundance of content, once everything is filled in nicely we will likely conduct a proper launch.

This publication will give EMC2 the effective marketing power of 3 people, and the fundraising power of 1 person at no cost to the coin -- support the site in every way you can.
1324  Bitcoin / Project Development / Crowdfunding Project For High Strategy Board Games At Public Libraries Worldwide on: November 01, 2014, 01:13:27 AM
We are organizing a crowdfunding campaign in conjunction with Gamercoin to provide Armis board game at public libraries around the world
http://game4commit.gamers-coin.org/projects/37

"Free Armis Board Games To Public Library
This project is for the funding of 1 free Armis board game to every public library with a game room.

This is a crowd funding project is created to fund an initiative that would fund the purchase and delivery of one Armis board game to every public library that has a game room and wants the game.

The cost of each game is $35 the average shipping cost is $15. As such the total cost per game is expected to be $50 to any library in the world.

To learn more about Armis visit www.ArmisGame.com

All coins are accepted for the project, if any donations are made this opening post will be updated with the particulars.

Once there are enough funds to donate a game, each donor will have the opportunity to vote their equivalent USD interest for the library of their choice.  For example if you donated $3 worth of BTC you will have 3 votes.   If you library isn't the winner, you could used your unused votes for the next library selection.

Although a tie is highly unlikely, the library in the larger of the involved cities will get the game.

Total Donated Oct 31st: 10,000 GMC   http://game4commit.gamers-coin.org/projects/37/donors   currently equal to $0.03
Total Donated Novr 4:   50,000 GMC   http://game4commit.gamers-coin.org/projects/37/donors   currently equal to $0.15

[edit]            Jan 16 2015 the balance of 59.400 GMC is now worth $98 instead of 18 cents.  That's some good appreciation even after BTC's nose dive.

Critical Thinking With Armis

Strategy games rely on a player’s mental capacity to outwit his opponent, this differs from most other games that primarily rely on luck (roll of the dice, and/or pick of a card) to win. Brain games are often distinguished from strategy games in that they focus on static information you may know, and how fast you process it. Strategy board games are affectionately called brain games because they are often accompanied by lots and lots of meaningful thinking.

Checkers, and warri (also called mancala) are perhaps the most basic of strategy board games, these games are played more for fun than competition so they don’t often get to enjoy the ‘strategy game’ cache. In both games all of the individual player pieces essentially have the same power, duty, and movement ability.

The board game called “Go” is very similar to checkers and warri in the power, duty, and movement ability categories, however it is often played competitively as such it is often called a strategy board game.

Chess is the most well known of all strategy board games. In our opinion it rises above the previously mentioned games in that various player pieces have different powers, duties, and movement abilities, these differences add a layer of complexity to the game.

Armis is the newest member of the strategy board game family, it is distinguished from the others in many ways, so much so that we believe Armis is the first HIGH strategy board game. Here are some major distinguishing characteristics ... (continued at above link)"

I appreciate the support.

not sure why you want to revive it. Dead is dead. no Zombie coin (and I was a bagholder... for too long actually, didn't made a lot with these free coins... I left after the second multipool debacle... )

What I continue to find comical is how a coin is pronounced DEAD long before it ceases to have value.  Cloak was pronounced dead when her value was about 10K sat.

If a coin has a purpose, and functionality it should be used, as long as it is used it is alive.  Too many people associate high short-term exchange market profitability with 'life', so that once a coin is no longer expected to reach three digits figure profits the coin is dead.  Well if that is the case then BTC is dead and died long ago.  Life is in the utility of the coin.

That's more believer bull, this thread is about getting paid for work, there's no way I'd ask to get paid in a currency that has every reasonable expectation to go down the same day I get it.

In August EMC2 was 15 sat now it's 50 sat If I was looking to get paid in any cryptocurrency that would have been the target crypto at that time.

hahahahaaa, yesterday EMC2 was 50 sat today it went as high as 80 sat on Cryptsy and 138 on poloniex

When is the last time BTC had a 100% rise in a day?

We are currently repositioning EMC2 in a way to make her stronger, more attractive, and exceedingly more valuable.

Do not sell your EMC2 until you see a profit level you are happy with.

As you may have noticed EMC2 rose to a high of 80 sat at Cryptsy, and a high of 138 sat at Poloniex today,  if those are satisfactory profit levels for you fine, otherwise please do not sell your EMC2 for anything less than a profit you are happy with.

There is a major game changing situation coming that at first glance might not seem like much but will certainly put EMC2 on a solid and responsible path to success.

Now is the time to buy EMC2 while you can still get it in double digits.

According to CoinMarketCap info, Einsteinium recently rose in ranking (from 163 to current 147 since my last post on the ranking matter):

#   Name              Market Cap     Price           Available Supply                Volume (24h)        % Change (24h)
147   Einsteinium   $ 38,960            $ 0.000257          151,343,776          EMC2   $ 437                   38.72 %

Again, please do not sell your coin unless you are HAPPY with the profit you receive.

1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: EBT on: October 31, 2014, 02:43:54 AM
If the dev can be gotten ahold of and will turn over the domain ebt-coin.com to the group I have a friend with a hosting company that can set up a site for the relaunch.

do you really need the old domain?  Just create a new one. perhaps with .org

Could, they're cheap enough, but still, if you're keeping up with EBT then there would be 2 sites for people who've never heard of bitcoin talk to get confused by.  Plus whoever currently owns ebt-coin.com, it won't expire until 2016-01-27

Personally, I don't think saving the coin as it exists is possible.  We'd need to create a new coin code/wallet and there are too many of them out there already.  Then there's the whole branding issue and EBT has already put a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

Talking about community takeover, look at quarkbar.  They're having very slow growth after the community takeover because of the original dev's scam.  They're doing a great job with it, but it's difficult.

Personally I'm just done with EBT and sticking with bitquark as my alt of choice that's not one of the big 3's.

EMC2 is going though the same experience, we are turning a major corner in the coming days.   We are creating a publication that, in part, will provide information to coins in CC rehabilitation preparing for redevelopment.

Although what you said is true -- that it is not practical to revive EBT, IMO if a coin has a true purpose, not for scamming, and not just for getting to an exchange, but actually for real use as currency it should be saved / redeveloped.

Very Very interested in working for Bitcoin,but the problem is :how can I work for it?will you or anyone offer a chance of it?
Introduce myself: I am good at Market Promotion( Bitcoin& Altcoin),Drawing,animated drawing(Flash),and anything else!
Maybe I can sell  Product for you with Twitters Smiley.

You do realize of all of the coins out there BTC is one that is essentially is in steady decline right?  It started at $800 this years and never saw it again, went down to $700, $600, $500, and even $400 but can't see to find it's way back.   I sincerely hope you have a very very long term plan.

Look into other coins, at least widen your perspective.

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. BTC's market cap is ~1/2 down, compare that to some altcoins.

Start of Year Value --> Current Value
NXT: 86m market cap --> sub 20m market cap  NXT is under 1/4 of its market size since the year began.
BC (took off in April): 17.8m (Really 30% more, coincap states its price at 54k satoshi when it really hit over 80k) --> 2.4m ~1/8 drop
Doge: 90m --> 22.7m ~1/4 drop
Dark: 60m --> 8m ~1/7.5 drop
Litecoin: 619m --> 125m ~1/5 drop
Peercoin: 153m --> 17.6m ~1/9 drop
Namecoin: 61m --> 9m ~1/7 drop
Mastercoin: 106m --> 1.6m ~1/66 drop
Ripple: 215m --> 138.7m ~2/3 drop

BTC has vastly outperformed any alt-coin by miles.The only coin to do better, is Ripple. Coins that started up in the past month or so don't count. As with all of the coins before them, they get hyper inflated and crash and burn shortly.

So according to your data he should get paid in BTC or Ripple?

What's your book say about Gridcoin?

You do realize of all of the coins out there BTC is one that is essentially is in steady decline right?  It started at $800 this years and never saw it again, went down to $700, $600, $500, and even $400 but can't see to find it's way back.   I sincerely hope you have a very very long term plan.

Look into other coins, at least widen your perspective.

If the dev can be gotten ahold of and will turn over the domain ebt-coin.com to the group I have a friend with a hosting company that can set up a site for the relaunch.

do you really need the old domain?  Just create a new one. perhaps with .org
