1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: July 18, 2023, 10:03:35 AM
Well, you din't buy bonus feature for $0.06 , did you? As far as I know the price of the feature ranges from 50 to 200 times your stake. So, I assume with the base bet of IDR 1000 = $0.06 you paid $6 for using the buy bonus feature. That's a $6 bet, mate, and nothing else. And my advice is to bet $0.20 at once, and never more than $0.40. It is more entertaining to hope for some big luck than making your potential win bigger at the expense of bigger bets.

As I mentioned, back then I didn't betting with normal spins method, so I always used the bonus buy feature on every spin. $6 for one bonus buy, and I do it repeatedly and often only get under 50% of the purchase.

So, you did bet $6 at once. I'm glad I got it right. Smiley

As of getting only 50% of the purchase price, yeah, I've noticed that too. It happens so often that at some point I've stopped being tempted by that "Bonus Buy". To me it's like an invitation to lose several dollars now.

Well, in the end its doesn't matter how many bets I made, my control was really bad at that time. Even though I followed your method, with a bet of $0.2 per spin, my mindset at that time was "free spins = jackpot" LOL. So i think i will run till get the free spins, even I have to take a risk my balance is burned.

Correct me, guys, if I'm wrong here, but I think buying free spins isn't increasing your chance of hitting a jackpot. You have the same odds of hitting it with your regular spins, no?
1322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 18, 2023, 09:08:26 AM
It's a stereotypical way of seeing women that they are less educated and more inclined towards mysticism and stuff like that. For the last hundred years, or so, women are getting the same education as men in many countries and they are no different than men in those places, and there are more and more of such places in the world. I believe soon the question of differences between Women and Men in Gambling will be absolutely irrelevant.
In this era, almost all countries around the world have the same civilization regarding women and men, even for education a woman is not far behind from men.
But sometimes status and culture differentiate between women and men.
For gambling itself there is no difference between the two, so assuming that men are superior is also not the right thing because there are not a few women out there who have become quite reliable professional gamblers.
I don't know why there are still questions like this which in my opinion are actually not quite right because they can be the start of a debate.

Yeah, with the civilization around the world most of it already have an equal rights. Both women and men can do things accordingly, but I agree also with your statement about religions and the country origins it's also affects those gamblers, as from some conservative places they still practicing that women can't be seen in places like this or they still have that discrimination when women has been a spot in the casinos.

You mean land-based casinos, but what about online gambling? It is believed that approximately 25% of people around the globe gamble online. That's almost 2 billion. True, today statistically more man than women are engaged in gambling, but the difference isn't very significant, and we shouldn't forget that in some places, due to cultural issues, women are less prone to admit that they gamble during surveys.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: July 18, 2023, 08:35:38 AM
~
People who believe in strategies and think that they might be able to maximize their wins using strategies tend to lose more money than those who don't believe in them, take the example of a person playing dice who believe in strategies, he will get a loss and start using martingale strategy so that he can recover every loss and don't lose anything, he might get his losses back once or twice but eventually, they will lose everything back to the house because of a loss streak.

Just a small correction here: if they'll lose, they will not lose everything "back to the house". What they are really losing to the house is the house edge. The rest of their money will be won by other players.

Now imagine someone who is gambling but doesn't believe in strategies, he might face a lot of losses and might get a lot of wins as well, but at the end of the session, he might be at a loss but he won't be out of money but his bankroll will still have some balance because he didn't use any strategy.

I agree with that. Surely, if you are using a "strategy" where no strategy can actually work, you will lose more than a rational person who's playing just fir fun.

Those who created these games were obviously not idiots they would design games that would work based on patterns so that gamblers can identify those patterns and then win significantly high amounts of money using those patterns. Of course, there are no patterns whether it's about roulette or any other gambling game, it's just our mind that tells us that there is a pattern and you should act accordingly but in reality, there is nothing like that.

I know that there are some people who think they are too smart for the casinos to handle so they keep looking for patterns and other stuff that they can use to win more bets, and when a few of their bets actually work, they become overconfident and eventually lose everything only because of their patterns.

I remember when I only started to play dice online, I used to "see" those patterns too. For example, I "noticed" that if you hit something above 100, something below 1.00 will follow soon. Not like right away, but within 10 bets for sure. So, I started using that "knowledge", and it "worked" most of the time at first. Then, of course, it didn't work one day and I lost all my balance during that day. The good part was that I didn't deposit more after losing it, and that my balance was only around $20. It was still painful, but it was bearable. Don't experiment with your strategies, guys, having big balances. Try them out, if it makes you entertained, but don't risk big money with that.

Roulette is like dice in the sense that the previous outcomes don't affect the following ones in the slightest. And yet I personally knew a guy who was taking notes of which numbers hadn't show up for a long time, and then betting on those numbers.

I have always seen greed as part of emotion, that is a type of emotion, I don't really know or understand how and if emotion and greed are two separate human characteristics, but I've always considered being greedy, as a type of emotion rather than see them separately..

Anyways, you are right about some gamblers who never listen until they've emptied their pulse, it is something that is normal mostly for gambling addicts, I have a friend like that, I always make reference of him in most of my post on this board, he's an addict and never listens, and I also have stopped advising him, when we meet such gamblers, it is better to sometimes leave them, what ever mistake they make is to their own peril, they will learn the hard way when the time is right for them to Learn.

That's right, I agree. If we are not professional psychiatrists, we can't do much to help them. The thing is that the brain of a gambling addict is ready to react to any advise against gambling. They may not be telling you, but the reaction will always be negative. You'll only turn people like that against you, and that would be it.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: July 17, 2023, 11:25:55 AM

That's right because they only care about getting more people to join using their referral link and even recommend those shady casinos instead. We as users must always be careful if we follow that streamer and don't need to watch the video if we feel that the casino it promotes is casino shady. And fortunately, we already have the right source of getting the casino in this forum so we don't have to worry about the casino. But those who are still looking for a casino by looking at those streamers can get scammed after registering through their referral link. But if the people watching the video are willing to find more information about the casino, they will not be scammed because they will know which casino is right for them and that casino is trusted.

I'm wondering what could be the reason of posting a link to a scam site for a popular streamer or blogger? Firstly, many people would stop following him if the casino turns out to be a scam. Secondly, how is it possible for him to make profit from his refs?

I'm not saying you should trust every link posted by a famous person. Always be careful. But, theoretically, what could be the point of posting a malicious link?

Congratulations, you are lucky, in my case I have not been lucky when I have been playing some game of chance that depends on luck, but I am thinking of playing with little money (deposit or faucet) just for fun, but when I think that there is only 1 month left for the main soccer leagues to start so I change my mind because in my case I see more advantage in waiting for the main leagues to come back and place a bet and I have also been watching the price of the fun token to see if there will be any opportunities for me to buy, but in games of chance like lottery, multiply btc I have been so unlucky that I even gave up on that a while ago. I keep wondering if the people who are still in these multiply btc games and lotteries have been able to profit

Have you managed to make any profit since you started to get involved with the freebitco.in lottery? I've been using the faucet since yesterday to see if I'll play multiply btc again just for fun when I have nothing to do, the maximum I can claim is 0.00000003 BTC and 2 lottery tickets, 10 reward points, I'll raise that amount with time, I'm still starting, but I have no hope of winning anything, games of chance that depend on luck haven't given me luck, that's why I've always chosen bets

Never managed to win anything with the lottery, but I won the second prize on FREE BTC recently, and it was $20 plus $5 for posting about it in the particular thread in Games and Rounds. Just bookmark the page, https://freebitco.in/, and visit it from time to time. You can be lucky too. No one has exclusive rights to good luck. Wink

~
Congratz, I have won that too. In fact if i remember correctly it was more tickets back then.

While that increases changes it doesn't really change them in any significant way because the amount of total tickets is such ridiculously high that you need to put it in context. Changes of you hitting with lightning in your total lifetime is 1:15,300. Now count your changes winning in any lottery. We are better off hoping we would get hit by a lightning, but somehow people won't believe that would happen to them.Instead we want to believe in lottery win.

Yeah, and that's a good thing, innit? We shouldn't be thinking all the time about the possibility of something something bad happening to us. But we shouldn't be careless either. We should stay away from open spaces during a thunderstorm to decrease the chance of being hit by lightning. And it's better to have a lottery ticket so that the chances of winning weren't zero.

About the Bitcasino price prediction contest , anyone in any of the contest make after they finish a estadistic research about how bad or good the people from bitcointalk make his predictions ?

I mean if the mean, the standard deviation and other statistical issues were ever calculated. I know its a nerd thing but it can be funny to see how far we are in the sum.

People participate might not care about what prediction they drop since majority think about random numbers and not base on their own technical analysis. Its free contest so most provably they never think about bad or good about it since the main purpose of the participants is to have fun with their prediction and to the numbers provided by other participants.

No, no, but everyone of us wants to to win, right. I just looked through the latest thread, and no one is just writing random numbers there. The highest number is 38,100 and the lowest is 26,298. See? No crazy predictions like below 20k or over 50k.

I think it's an interesting idea to calculate the average and the median when the current contest is over, and check how close it is to the actual price. I personally think that the median is going to be pretty close.

~ Personally I think that if at some point a gambler develops an AI like this and eventually they get banned by casinos due to the edge they get, eventually this software may make it to the hands of gamblers all over the world, and if that is the case then you will find yourself at a massive disadvantage, compared to those which are willing to use such tool.

How can you ban something like this? Although, maybe we see how to use AI to predict outcomes differently? I see it like this. You promt it to search for the needed info, like injuries of the main players, health and legal issues, their probable replacement, everything that affect the outcome of the game, and then you ask whether making a bet with a certain odds makes sense, right? And you either accept its advice or you don't. How can you ban such an adviser?

<snip>.
Not everyone gets bored playing Plinko, there are even those who solely play that game. Personally, I also find it enjoyable and not boring. However, if you play it for a long time, it can become repetitive and boring. The main point is that everyone has different preferences, so we can't say that everyone dislikes this game. On the other hand, slots are specifically designed to be entertaining, which is why most people find them enjoyable to play and don't get bored easily.

That's what I'm talking about. I'm not trying to say that Plinko is so boring that I hate this game and never play it. No. I used to play Plinko a lot in the past. I even hit 1,000x multiplier twice, although the win itself wasn't that big because the stake was around 1 cent only. But, as I see, you agree yourself that Plinko can become boring with time. There are many online slots that can become boring too, most of them, I would say. But I think there are more than twenty of them that no one would call boring.

Nice!
What was your biggest hit on Stake?

My biggest hit on Stake was on The Bowery Boys by Hacksaw Gaming:

I was hunting for 40x+ for a similar challenge on the Stake Forum, and hit this, accidentally> Smiley

I have tried this slot for last 3 days but still no decent hit. My luck is good usually on either PnG or NLC slot providers.
Imagine hitting 300,000x on Tombstone Rip slot by No Limit City and changing your life standards. That is just my dream tbh.

Tombstone Rip is one of my favourite slots. I simply love the accompanying animation. I remember hitting something around 400x when I was playing the slot for the very first time, and although there were no big multipliers since then, I keep returning to it from time to time. Let's hope one of us hits that 300,000x one day and post about that here.
1336  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: July 16, 2023, 10:54:50 AM
~ I don' agree with your opinion, we should take the reference as the basis for this topic, based on the Oxford Dictionary, it says that Gambling is "The activity or practice of playing at a game of chance for money or other stakes".

So it means that, all activities which allow us to earn money by playing like guessing scores or guessing anything is an activity with the opportunity to earn money, so it means that it's still gambling, even if it's without money (for this case is Superpicks.com) or capital at all or playing for free on that site.

I'm actually not sure about this. If you look further into the same Oxford Dictionary you can see that to gamble is "to risk money on a card game, horse race, etc." I think this is very important part here, "to risk money". In this thread we heave agreed on that by "money" we mean anything of value, but if you put nothing of value at risk, it's not gambling.

With the people going wild as Trump walks with Dana in UFC 290, it just shows how people support Trump. He walks there like he owns the people cheering up. Even Joe Rogan I think has set up Trump in his podcast it may happen sooner. It's a tectonic shift toward Trump as polls swing 10+ points to Trump and voters choosing the populist.

Biden in Peril as No Democrat President Has Survived a Recession Since FDR
https://www.newsweek.com/recession-joe-biden-inflation-economy-obama-reagan-1728850

One analysis I have read is that if people are going to elect a new president with the potential to be reelected, this president may concentrate more on his re-election and do more for his image. But electing a president that has no other goals but his legacy will do his best to do good for the people.  There is just got to be Biden and Trump.

Well, the president of the United States isn't elected only by UFC 290 attendees, is he? Looking at the odds on different sports betting sites

I can only say that Biden is still bettors' favourite. Yes, for those who bet on Trump there's a good multiplier on their bet if Trump wins, but, as always with good multipliers, it is kinda unlikely.

I don't know why more people does not mention their 0 confirmation policy for bitcoin. I don't know any other site that is letting players bet in the same second they send tx before it even confirms once. Great thing with no actual risk attached (you can't withdraw winnings if your tx does not have 3 confirmations).

It is hands down the best feature for me, very easy to implement and yet only Sportsbet has it.

It's a great feature, and more gambling sites should implement it as soon as possible. By accepting a zero-conf transaction you show your customers that you trust them. And it's a nice feeling when the people you are dealing with trust you. You want to do business with them again and again.

As you have rightly said, they are covered against losing money. And that's good, because not all people can be trusted. But for honest people it's a good bonus: to not wait for a confirmation.

Also, just after reading your post I decided to try my luck on Roo Bonanza and I hit this nice 16.55x multiplier from the 5th try!

Kudos for cooperating with Pragmatic Play, Roobet! They create amazing slots for you. Smiley
Nice luck mate , congrats to that big multiplier though hoping that you put bigger bet
so you can take much from that wins so you might be taking a food for the table  Grin Grin
the last time that I win 2 digits in Bonanza is last december in which I got to win x28 with 4 dollars bet .

Wow, man, that's something! Congrats, @kotajikikox!

I do win over $100 on slots soemtimes, but I need to hit a 500x+ multiplier for that, because I never bet more than $0.20 at once.

Roobet is an honest site and they will not make you lose your big bets on purpose, that's what I'm sure of, but still I want to say, be careful with those 4 dollar bets of yours. It's too risky to bet so much at once, in my opinion.

I bet 20 cents and it took me 5 rounds to hit it. I know I was lucky, okay? Smiley

when trying to access the site. And I deposited $250 on the platform just before that(I got sponsored for playing in poker tournaments recently). I hope everything will be alright soon, because I want to play poker on this amazing platform. Smiley
All you can do is hope for the best. I remember only two days before Chipmixer disappeared I mixed some coin and I was lucky to be able the get the coin back. If I was a day or two late then I could lose a larger amount of bitcoin. You never know what can happen with a centralized service anytime.
Yes you never know and sometimes they are honest and make their best to avoid to completely scam their (past) customers. For example Hotbit had a rather bad reputation but when they closed they gave several weeks to their users to withdrawal their remaining funds and they even extended the deadline at the end. So Betwrong could maybe get lucky and get back his funds.

I really hope that things will be better for Betnomi in the nearest future than a situation when they, as honest people, will just allow users to withdraw their funds.

I hope they will be back soon with even more nice features. As for their poker platform, we all know how great it is. Online poker players would miss it big time if it wasn't there any more.
