1321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 15, 2021, 08:10:42 PM
I have doing this from past two months now and planning it to carry on for long time as i know that my returns will be high in long run
You'll probably be inflationarily secure, but I'm just adding some wise words from John Maynard Keynes:  “In the long run we are all dead”.

Maybe there's going to be a lesson bitcoin's price doesn't always go up in months, But the OP is planning to HODL for 6 months, There's a good possibility price might go up during that time like last year but it's not guaranteed, not trying to be a duche bag but... OP tell me will remember the french fries and burgers you could've eaten if the price of bitcoin goes down under 10k USD?  Grin
1322  Economy / Economics / Re: Strange massive Btc transfer in block 690755 on: July 15, 2021, 08:01:34 PM
This is actually strange,
The wallet owner had the pump of 2018 to sell their coins but they didn't sell even after the unexpected rise in the price action of bitcoin during that time.
Either the owner has more Bitcoins stored in other addresses or they completely forgot about the bitcoins they own (since 2012)

I don't think it's Satoshi, what's done above could be done by anyone if they forget that they own something or intentionally not selling no matter the intensity of Pump & Dump, But it does red flags when there's a revival of a bitcoin address with 100s of bitcoins in it, especially when the price is this high.
1323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some millionaires hate Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2021, 06:48:32 PM
When you are wealthy, you automatically hate any changes and everything that might cause those changes. Millionaires want to maintain status quo forever, but, unfortunately for them, that's not how things work in this world. The wisest from them are aware of that, of course, and now actively buying BTC at low price.

Well, that's one of many reasons, Most of the millionaires spend their whole life to keep on making the same or more amount of money so that they don't have to bring low-status lifestyle. This is what I've seen with most of them.

Some are millionaires for their hard work and they reached that height doing a single work and bringing change to that work will lead to re-learn or master another skill to remain at the same height which is not desirable for each and every one of them.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: July 15, 2021, 06:39:58 PM
Indeed. It is difficult if we become ambitious to win, especially if we do not see our chance of winning because that will make us unable to see enough. Gambling is part of entertainment so we should use gambling like that and not use gambling as a source of income. By doing that, that is a small part of being responsible for ourselves in gambling.
If we don't see ourselves have the chance to win, we're only throwing money on it. We have to make sure that it's going to be valuable with every bets that we put.

There are YOLO bettors and that makes sense that even if they see no chance of winning, they still put bet. But a responsible gambler, he sees more of the advantage than YOLOing.
Many gamblers are doing it like that because they think they will have a chance to win and lose their money. But when we can become a responsible gambler, we always calculate the chance to win and if the chance is not big, we will decide to stop gambling. We only continue gambling if we do not think too much about winning and only want to enjoy the moment to have fun playing the gambling games.
We can calculate or assess the risk but we're not going to be accurate with that. And if someone thinks of both about losing and winning, the balance.

Well, the YOLO mindset sometimes really comes to us.

Actually with house edge you've got 0 chances of winning against the casino, obviously the odds are against you and you're going long run, maybe you'll win big in starting but continuing to gamble will result in negative profits in no time.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: July 15, 2021, 06:36:50 PM
I think that if a person is at least minimally socialized, then he will definitely receive a signal that his gambling addiction is destroying his life. This information can be provided to him by relatives, work colleagues or neighbors. How he will perceive this information is another question, if he ignores it, this means only his conscious choice.
I guess his relatives, work colleagues or neighbors will feel that he slowly becomes an addiction but he might do not think much about that and only accept what they say. If he can introspect about what is happening to himself, that is good for you. Otherwise, he will still play gambling without listening to their relatives. However, some of those people can turn back to the right path and can realize that they have a bad habit that slowly destroys their lives and never come back again to gambling.

Yes, a person's ability to correctly understand the signals from the outside world is very important. If his wife tells him that some habit (not necessarily gambling) begins to negatively affect their family life and the gambler ignores such information, then this is a serious problem. And, by the way, the root cause of these problems is often incomprehensible - gambling or problems in the family that encourage someone from the family to go into some kind of addiction in order to get distracted.

That's the problem of some, because of their ego or pride, even so many people are already telling them about their addiction, they won't accept it, because for them, their bad habit is just normal, nothing to be worry about, but that's not true. Gambling addiction is a real problem, especially if you have your own family already, as a father or a mother, you should both act as a good example to your children, give them everything they need, provide their daily needs, and raise them well, not let them see you getting addicted to Gambling.

Most of the time people with that pride or ego have a false sense of self, If they're gambling with the money they can afford to lose then it's all good but the moment they get into gambling with the attitude "I'll double or triple my salary through gambling every time" Then that's the problem!, with gambling you cannot do that every time.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 14, 2021, 05:51:45 AM
https://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/31732427/london-based-bettor-wins-136-million-six-leg-parlay-harris-english-putt

This is the most insane winning parlay I've ever seen.  And with the last leg resting on a golf match that went deep into a playoff.  Would have had a heart attack watching myself

Best parlay ypu ever won or seen a story on?

I've seen other wins that are greater than this but definitely not on sports, He must have had placed a bet while laughing and thinking "Let's see if we win against the odds" and then realizing it later on that he won, lol. This is would it much more interesting if he won this bet and lost 10,000 USD bet on other odds.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: July 14, 2021, 05:45:22 AM
For a business to build a reputation, it takes a lot of money and time to be invested to achieve this through marketing, brand awareness and all other activities.

But my question is why would they risk all they have invested to a few players by scamming them? I for one know the forum will side with the player that have been allegedly being scammed in most cases but how do casino's/bookies  protect themselves if not terms and conditions?

If people buy reviews to paint a picture of a good standing business,  what would stop the competition from buying people to tarnish a competitors reputation to have an advantage in the business?

This reminds me of Adkinsbet situation where they bought accounts of people or paid them to post negative reviews about their competitors but that attempt failed after they getting caught,
I think in most cases the guilty one Either Casino or Customers will leave a trail behind them unknowing to prove they are guilty and people who are good at catching these subtle cues will know.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: July 14, 2021, 05:41:21 AM
After reading the OP I'd say he's not the only one.
I used to be like him, Gambling and emptying my wallet, depositing again, and repeating the same cycle.
Even after making some money remembering about past losses and looking to cover all losses with my present luck of winning and ending up over pushing my luck which resulting in losing everything, So yes it's not good to push your luck a lot, However gambling with money you cannot afford to lose is not the way to go.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: July 14, 2021, 05:34:17 AM
There are many variables included in this, I'll explain some.
- In slots people see the Jackpot, FreeSpins, Number of Rewards, etc.

In slots, most people also look at the graphics of the slot game of which they're playing, however, that's the initial point while selecting the slot game after they look at the points I've stated above.
1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: July 14, 2021, 04:40:34 AM
in the last few days, I see more and more people posting they won from the lottery which is in pancakeswap
what surprises me is this account that claims he won 37.583 $CAKE or the equivalent of $548 (sorry I saw it wrong before)

what do you think, have you tried?

Recently I participated in 1xbit's lottery by betting on their site the lottery tickets were given after betting a certain amount in Euro2020 games, I, however, didn't win anything.

I'm not sure if it can be called a classic lottery system where you buy tickets rather than getting them for free.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: July 14, 2021, 04:38:03 AM
Gamblers don't realize they are addicted to gambling until it's worse which they've done unthinkable already like breaking the piggybank of his kid just so he could gamble again. But you as a gambler can also notice it to yourself before you get to the worse situation like selling valuables like jewelry so you could play again.

Is seeking a new strategy or thinking of betting while you are sleeping signs of addiction? If not, what are little signs that unfold you are becoming a gambling addict?

My experience -

- When I used to gamble a lot in past and lost the money I earned through my services, then after losing it there will be an unbearable pain in the middle part of the chest, So it's a natural sign people should stop and don't continue in gambling with money they can't deserve to lose but most of the time it gets worse, I'm glad I'm out of it.

- Addiction is mostly not being able to stop gambling no matter what happens, and people lose everything after going on a losing streak including their homes.

1334  Economy / Services / Re: 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) on: July 12, 2021, 04:58:02 PM
My New Review -

Deposit/Withdrawal - I've done multiple deposits and withdrawals and didn't seem to have a problem with it, Withdrawals are processed within 5-10 minutes which is quite good and there's no fee associated with them, I haven't tried any other withdrawals other than Bitcoin.

Website Performance - The website has gotten fast recently compared to what it was a month ago, It could be different factors like latency, cache, cookies, computer performance, etc. But I'm having an easy time using it now.

Suggestion(s): It's better to disable the 1click bet option in sports betting by default, By mistake, I made multiple bets on sports betting (without knowing confirmation prompt will not occur and I was just messing with the odds by clicking on them) and had to cancel those bets after paying some fee. So I think you should be disabling it on users that are betting on sports for the first time it'll make a good impression.

UI: I think you should really consider a new UI for 1xBit.

1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: July 11, 2021, 06:38:47 PM
In my country also many who do not know bitcoin. But I still explain as best I can. They mostly still don't trust bitcoin and blockchain technology. I'm sure there are still many who are not familiar with bitcoin. I also believe that one day bitcoin will be more accepted and more popular.

If you want people to listen to you then change the way you present or say something if it didn't work in the start.
"How you say something matters more than what you say" that's human psychology.

I wouldn't go into details because it's very easy to exploit people if you pull their right strings, everyone can be exploited including me (which I wouldn't recommend and is morally wrong)

Tell those people - Future is cashless, You don't need to rely on Bank's network to make a bitcoin transaction, You don't need a bank to store Bitcoin, Bitcoins are stored on your computer or ledger wallet ~~Explains ledger wallet~~

Tell them honestly how volatile the bitcoin marketplace is if they're here to make a quick buck after being new then they'll most likely be a victim of a Ponzi or lose their money trading on 10x leverage on the trading exchange because it's tempting to trade bitcoin and people who're new into this space most of the time are victims of Hype.
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Crypto bans are temporary, we are on the right side of history. on: July 11, 2021, 06:21:06 PM
I guess most of you have noticed the rise in the number of banks and Financial commissions and Governments in different countries announcing bans on crypto purchases using banks, crypto exchanges, and in some case Bitcoin mining crackdowns.

Governments have banned bitcoin seeing the popularity of crypto as they consider it a threat to their governess if all people invest in bitcoin & crypto. Once they will realize it that they can't stop bitcoin, they will unban it and it will be so bullish for bitcoin. As i told many times, this is the best time for accumulation. Anything under 40K is a good buy for bitcoin in mid-term / long-term.

I don't think every government is smart enough to know about bitcoin instantly as they did and banning it or at least trying to ban it and only the ignorant people were the victim of this  fear caused by the government to panic sell bitcoin and another crypto, and then government buys a chunk or crypto and removes the ban and people cannot complain about it, this is quite retarded and proves the point "A fool is bound to lose the money and continues losing it without learning anything"

What I also think the governments of different countries were guided to take this action against crypto just like news channels were, I'm sure now no one will dare to call Bitcoin a bubble-like some used to, and the reason being 'they're either paid to or they're ignorant' both reduces their survival chances in this world.
1337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who to Trust, Fiat Banks or BTC? on: July 11, 2021, 06:12:13 PM
The issue of Trust is not only evident in relationships, it is applicable in our daily endeavours. People are more committed to system they trust than the one they don't trust. Even in this forum, you can easily do business with someone with a positive trust than one with a negative trust.

As the saying goes "wherever ones treasure is, there his soul is". So, in this article we would try to establish if ;
1. If people have fallen out of Trust with the Traditional banking system.
2. If people can trust BTC than banks.

The thing is you cannot completely removing the Banking system without causing huge damage to the economy of a country and multiple sectors of income sources.

I'm not saying to trust the banking system and let them have their way every time, if you don't fight for what if yours in this world including money then there are many who'll take that from you either by hook or crook, the banking system is no exception.

Bitcoin cannot transact money instantly like UPI payments and multiple instant payments to locals so that's a drawback, even if you pay with bitcoin you have to rely on the security of the transaction which is none if the other person double-spends while the shop-keeper is waiting for 1 confirmation and it never came, In the banking system, you can at least file a case that your credit/debit card was used without your approval and you may get your money back but not in case of bitcoin, There're pros and cons in everything so it's better to find a balance in things that you use to get maximum output.
1338  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: July 11, 2021, 05:44:19 PM
Theymos wants the new forum software tested for security flaws. I think this is the primary hold up.

This shouldn't take 9 years...

Actually yes 9 years is a lot of time even for testing, Maybe theymos hasn't made up his mind as to if there should be a new forum.
This forum is already meeting all the needs of the users, most likely new forum will be for aesthetics to adapt to the needs of a new generation that sees eye candy first and information provided later.

Some questions - Will the new forum replace the current forum, Will it share the database of this forum so that we wouldn't have to start our journey again?
