1341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 04:34:08 PM
Yes, but not with gambling, unless I won the lottery or something, and in any case I would give it back to a charity or several charities, I don't think individually, unless I knew of cases directly, but I would try to keep it as secret as possible. The thing is that I don't gamble large amounts, so there's no point in giving back to the community if I win $100. If I won the lottery it would be a different story.

Haha winning little also requires giving as little as it can be but the point is, it is almost like tradition for regular gamblers or addicts to give when they win. They see it as a social responsibility to other bettors to encourage or lift them up also. Sometimes that little money in gift go along way in the life of a gambler at least I know this for off line gambling.

However, a non regular player like you might not see it as some obligated impulse to do because you may not have received from others too. More like it is a routine thing for people who gamble regularly.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 03:43:10 PM
The act of giving is what is imbedded in persons to persons so it is relative and may not be tied only to gambling winnings and that is why you see people winning big and giving out very little while some one else can win relatively small and give relatively bigger to the proportion of his winning. Some people are givers and could believe more will come when they give while some don't have that kind of mentality. In the state of joy I will give irrespective of how much was lost before the winning.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For sports bettors, are you attracted with bet builder feature? on: November 15, 2023, 03:19:07 PM

So I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding this, is it also profitable or just a waste of money?

No it is not a waste of money but it has only limited your chances of winning on the bet. If you have taken higher risk in a game or a particular game, that will increase the odd for you and increased odd means higher profit from the usual but you have lesser success rate if you had taken only one chance.

For example in a soccer match where you bet on goal/goal and over 3.5 , it means both sides must score a goal and the total goals must be above 3 goals. So you should get a score like 3-1, 2-2, 3-2 but where all above 3 goals was scored by only one of the teams, you will lose the bet. Therefore, if you have a result like 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 , you have lost the bet since the other side didn't get a goal because you predicted that both side must score and that the goals will be above 3 goals.

In the same light, if the goals were below 3 but shared between the teams, you still lost. Like if you have a score line of 1-1, 2-1, you also lost the bet .

There are so many examples that can be given with your enquiry. Like if you bet 1& ov 2.5 , 2& 2.5 etc, they are of two different bets in a game and they deserve increased odds and it limits your winning chances.
1344  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [ECONOMICS] Yesterday's Price Nor Be Today's Price on: November 15, 2023, 02:44:34 PM

My pipo una fit help me with some strategies wey una dey use to take manage una self incase of buying. Even if you suggest bulk buying, where the money dey to take do bulk buying?

Bulk buying Kee.... Grin

Anyway, I don watch some videos online about the way naija people suppose cut down on expenses including the video from psquare (rude boy abi wetin be him name self). Him say na to cut down on unnecessary expenses and people wey dey carry girls wey dey task Dem should dump the babes.

On a serious note, recently I go buy Colgate (toothpaste) and the price na double of what I bought before, I buy am 400 before but dem tell me 800. So the thing wey dey there na to cut our cloth according to the size of material wey we get. If we enter market, there are big sizes and there are lesser price own, so na to just pick the one wey we fit buy and apply economic inside am. Like now even for restaurant people no dey waste food again talkless of for house. We need to economize our money and the thing wey we buy.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: November 15, 2023, 12:24:17 PM
Although this is just a pastime game which is purely for fun, who knows in the future if this could be introduced more formally in a competition or a tournament and betting sites would release odds and fans could bet on their favorite players?

You can bet on it for money or other benefits just like other gambling game. I have seen some people in relationship playing the game and even couples and they would bet to rip off their clothes one after the other. There are some videos on Facebook or YouTube on it. So it could also be turned into a tournament game.

Whenever I see games like bags or cornhole, I'm reminded that any game which is fair and requires a certain amount of skill or practice could indeed become some kind of sport.

This game is fair enough and may not be manipulated. It modus of play is understood by both party. It is just to flip the plastic container and for it to stand back on its bottom and if it doesn't it means it is a lose. So it is fair enough to understand and bet on.

In fact, I'd like to see bottle flip introduced as a popular competitive game than that butt slapping contest.

There is possiblity for that, it only requires creativity to properly organise the game and make it rules more detailed.

1346  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 15, 2023, 11:53:07 AM
Are the newbie gamblers not being misleaded already because they have mostly the kind of gambling for earnings these days, what are we telling them about gambling when we first introduced them to it, what is the major thing on their mind for gambling, are they interested in gambling because they wanted to make money or because they wanted to get the best of being entertained through the means.

Somehow the newcomers in gambling have double understanding both for negative and positive but the positive which is the profit angle is more than the negative and most times the newcomers hear what they want to hear because everyone likes to have money and when you tell someone the possibility of making money faster, they fall for it and that is what happens everywhere. The truth however is that gambling is not an easy way to make money and newcomers need to be properly educated on this to avoid them over staking and regretting afterwards.
1347  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The importance of taking Beer ( Alcohol) in moderation on: November 14, 2023, 10:53:00 PM

Me wey no come dey drink nko, for where i base na so one of my neighbor anytime i come back from where i go she go come dey tease me say neighbor you no buy beer come back and when i come open mouth tell her say my dear me like this never taste alcohol as i grow up to this age ni she shock she come say na wa oh, you be PASTOR, lols i wan ask shey na only pastor them no dey take alcohol.  Grin Grin

If you no dey take beer well e good pass say you dey take am because of the risk factors wey dey involved in taking of beer.

But to your question whether na only pastors wey no dey take alcohol, e go shock you say some pastors still dey drink wella. So no be only pastors, na upbringing dey determine those things. If you no start am from you young age then you fit no show interest in it at all except you con get friends wey dey take am and dem influence you. So you are good not taking alcohol.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inquiry about FortuneJack - KYC and Withdrawals on: November 14, 2023, 09:45:41 PM
If you didn't do KYC before playing in a casino that requires it and you later win before doing it because you require it before withdrawal then don't expect that the casino to speedily verify it and especially if they have something to recheck and whatnot. I just believe that should be the situation. I have not played there though but maybe you should give more time for them to get back to you. It is always better to be cleared and verified on KYC before playing.
1349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The common saying Health is wealth on: November 14, 2023, 09:29:31 PM
The cure for most illness and condition is said to be sleeping well. I mean, to sleep in satin sheets, in a mattress full of 1000 dollar bills in a little mansion in a country with good private medical practice. Warren Buffet, the Queen of England, ... you know, people who always slept very well and have the right mattress full of the right materials and live in countries with excellent (private) care.

I mean, the rich will always remember how they live comfortably and luxuriously, they will be sure to take care of their health to sustain them for more healthy living so they keep enjoying all the good life.

Yeah sleeping is a good recipe for good health and to sleep in more comfortable mansion with suiting beds that strengthens your nerves and give you a baby tender feeling keeps you looking to do more to preserve your health to live longer.
1350  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why Nigerians value burial ceremony more than other occasions? on: November 14, 2023, 09:03:13 PM

I go say make we try imbibe the white man's ways in things like this no be only to dey copy bad things from them...Una Weldon

This is more rhetoric than wetin you want try raise for your post. You suppose know say know be all Nigerians dey do that burial thing and you don generalize am. You know say na mostly the christian communities dey do that and Dem dey see am as giving a "befitting burial".

When people contribute to the dead dem dey feel say na last respect, at least dem no go get anything to contribute for the person again and culture and tradition follow join.

You know say Muslim no dey do like that, especially core Muslim and northern Muslim.
1351  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The fall of shitcoin/altcoin, the rise of bitcoin on: November 14, 2023, 08:03:37 PM
Wetin dey increase bitcoin adoption na the trust wey people don get on it as them don hodl bitcoin from beginning till now making like 13/14 years thereabout wey dem launch am. So people don hodl am after e drop e go still rise and keep increasing beating previous ATH

That confirm bitcoin as store of value, decentralized and deflationary, not affected by inflation.
1352  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: We should control our tongue at all time. on: November 14, 2023, 02:59:15 PM
misguided statements should be avoided in this country now as body dey pepper almost everybody now with the condition of the country, talk less of uniformed men wey no get joy right from the beginning.

Omo notwithstanding say the girl speak out within dey all of us mind including una wey dey that moto, because una self no like as the police people take dey delay una movement as e be say if dem see bad people dem no go do their job as dem dey do for innocent vehicle and people. Wetin that girl talk na passive word wey some police people no go react like that because dem too sabi say na true.

Me I dey tink say na just intimidation as usual. Okay if that girl sabi one small Navy officer now, you wan tell me say one small call no go cause wahala for deir head?

My brother las las, na number dem want still collect and begin run package with the babe but dem no wan make una sabi how e dey go.

Those people stupid no be small. And na those uniform men fit savage the country out of these politicians wey don impoverish this country. Them no dey see how other uniform men dey take chase out their ogas for office wey say dem be president.

Na dem go restart this country because dat na wetin the country need.
1353  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: bitcoin affecting altcoins on: November 14, 2023, 06:36:07 AM
My brother there are 101 reasons wey dey make anything wey happen for bitcoin dey affect altcoins and I no go fit exhaust am finish.

Apart from say bitcoin na the foremost cryptocurrency, bitcoin dey totally decentralized and that means there is unshakable trust in the coin and the community keeps rising. So you go hardly see someone wey get altcoins for him wallet wey no get btc but you fit see person wey get btc without altcoins. Those wey been get only altcoins because no increase in the price without bitcoin increase, they move to bitcoin.

Bitcoin dominance of cryptocurrency na around/above 51% while altcoins share the rest percentage, so imagine that.

Bitcoin Maximum supply na 21 million and can't be manipulated.

Bitcoin halving na bum as it reduces the reward for mining bitcoin every 4 years into half and that keeps demand high. The trust is high and it is decentralized, has larger community who hodls it more than altcoins.
1354  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bullish momentum - Breaking through the $35,000 mark on: November 13, 2023, 05:16:52 PM

It's better for us to enjoy the current Bitcoin price movement and remember to keep accumulating more Bitcoin. That is if you still want to use this time to collect Bitcoins. But if you feel you have had enough, you just have to wait for the time to sell Bitcoin and take the profits.

It can only be enough to accumulate bitcoin if you don't have money to buy more but for those who have money, it is time to keep DCA on because the bull this season is really expected to either hit the 6 digit area.

However, I won't advise taking loan to invest in btc If you don't have enough just invest as little as you can ride with the bull next year.
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: November 13, 2023, 04:27:16 PM
All the negative things and everything are a different matter, but there is no denying the fact that billionaires help an economy prosper because of the businesses they run, and the taxes those businesses pay to the government. I know that a lot of people say that billionaires don't pay their taxes, or even if they do, they don't pay enough, but they ignore the fact that the businesses that they own pay their taxes in full and there is no exception for any business in that matter.

One more thing is that the businesses of these billionaires are the reason why so many people within the economy are employed, if there weren't any private companies in any country, a large portion of the overall population would have been unemployed because governments can't provide employment to that many people.
It is true that the taxes paid by billionaires will be able to increase the taxes received by the government from the businesses they run and this will really help the government and also the economy of the people who work in the businesses they run because without billionaires it will reduce the number of unemployed because the government has not Of course it can provide employment opportunities for everyone in that area.

Billionaires are very instrumental to every country because they help investment to grow as a result of the liquidity they circulate in macro and micro capacity. These businesses generate employment to teaming population who are also taxed too , so apart from taxing the billionaires proportionally, they also generate taxable people for the government through the labour force.

Apart from the fact that they are friends to the government and their supposedly tax rate may be reduced through corruption but government carry out so many projects through their organisations and business. So they also help to stabilize the business environment and generate IGR for the government.
1356  Economy / Economics / Re: Foreign reserves on: November 13, 2023, 03:41:25 PM
I think foreign reserve refers to the value of a country's worth in financial instrument like bonds apart from the currency. Maybe savings that a country have with another country like bonds, Treasury bills, foreign banknotes.

It is also in form of savings that a country have deposited officially in another country bank for savings, reserve or to be used but at the time it has not been used then it will be referred to as foreign reserve.

A country might execute a project or contract for another country and decide not to be paid and reserve the debt as reserve.

So it may be referred to the worth of money a country has outside it shores including financial instruments. It increases trust on the country or decreases it depending on the worth and financial strength.

1357  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on abortion? on: November 13, 2023, 02:59:38 PM
As much as I want to take sides on this one, I'm looking at the midst of it. While there's so much poverty feeding and growing up a child can be tough. A couple, if they don't have a means of doing that then at least practice safe sex. If they can't take the responsibility of giving a good life for the child/ren that they're going to have then at least put that protection on and enjoy. But in some cases, it's true that it's life, a form, that soon will walk on Earth just as we do. Given the fact that the baby is already there, we'd say give the kid a chance to live and let things work on their own while you work hard to provide for them. So, it's case to case basis and hard to pinpoint or direct someone when I'm not even a woman and I don't even know how they feel when they're about to make the choice of their lifetime, either to pity themselves, what they are carrying and or a regret forever.
Exactly,  to me I don't see the reason why a couple will not be able to practice safe sex in their marriage and have to have for abortion at some point this is pour negligence of responsibility,  and the only time abortion should be allowed is when the futus is unhealthy and can't survive,  only then should legal abortion be allowed,  because as a family both partners need to agree that they want to have children before they start coming and when the pregnancy will arrive it should be at the expectations of both parties.

Anything outside that is a total violation of the child's right to live,  and any unmarried person who becomes pregnant must be forced to take responsibility, for the child,  so abortion should become a highly jailable offence

About the married people and being responsible to their action of unprotected sex regards to creating foetus and try to remove it through abortion, I have heard that majority of the time that the men don't want protected sex or they don't want to be responsible to safe sex or meeting the wife during her free time or unfertile period. However, I believe that couples should be responsible to their decision if they can't manage themselves.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 01:00:58 PM

In the online world, everyone prefers to be anonymous, due to which the sites without kyc are more exposed.  Submitting your personal documents anywhere creates a panic in itself.  But we are forced to kyc against our will in casino sites, crypto exchanges and other online platforms as kyc is very important to keep our funds safe there.  Otherwise, our account may be restricted or funds frozen at any time for any reason.  To avoid them, we are forced to kyc

I don't believe KYC is forced on anybody though. It is just a requirement to go through to register in certain casinos especially CEX. There are rules on that but the unfortunate thing is that most casinos are regulated and regulation come with obligated know your customer (KYC) that is a major reason you see the rule otherwise. But the decentralized casinos are still alleged not to be favourable in the area of its disadvantage to be a den for scammers and your funds can be withdrawn with a blink of an eyelid ones the right parameters for withdrawal is triggered since it runs on smart chain and blockchain, no regulation or restricted or checks may be verified before coins are withdrawn unlike KYC enabled casinos.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 11:50:57 AM

5. KYC requirements can be used to restore accounts after it has been hacked. (Using the documents that were used by the original owner)

7. KYC requirements can be used to reduce gambling addiction. (Identifying people that self-excluded or people trying to create new accounts)

I think for a reasonable, responsible and honest player who keeps to the rules of casino would not bother about all those points that you raised because he never tries to beat the house illegimately, so he doesn't concern himself with all those scam and money laundering whatnot. Therefore, he is to play genuinely but only fears his privacy disclosure otherwise whether KYC or not, he should fear nothing and is why he would consider the points above.
1360  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: As e dey hot, MTN clear debt owned by their users on: November 12, 2023, 10:05:11 PM

But one thing i go let una know say be say MTN no fit do something for free to people because I know say e get another better place them wan use milk am from people wey them help clear debt, don't be surprised say them fit dey charge am from every calls wey una dey make without knowing the reason why una airtime dey quickly exhaust make una fear them oo.

No be lie. I still doubt say dem withdraw people debt wey dem own them abi na to clear their debts because MTN no dey give person free stuff and so I no go surprise if them slightly begin charge those people higher during calls. We know say Nigerians gullible no be small and them no dey check to monitor the amount wey the calls be. So it is very possible them fit increase their tariff to take back the debts.

But if them intentionally wipe the debts off, na for their own business strategy so that make people for begin recharge dey go and them go begin make fresh profit.
