141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin with low market cap of these .... on: November 07, 2017, 12:14:09 AM
How or why did you narrow it down to those five? There are hundreds of coins within your parameters, like kore, artbyte, coss and swarm city, just to name a few of the better known ones. If you’re willing to go just a bit higher there is patientory and shift.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Palm Beach Confidential- would you join on: November 06, 2017, 07:15:30 PM
Is Palm Beach Confidential the Oracle of Altcoins or just an overrated overhyped P&d group?

If you listened to the pbc webinar the other day, you’re probably getting spammed with emails to join pbc. Now they’re even offering a payment plan (which frankly makes it more realistic than paying $2500 outright).

Thoughts?
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've compared Syscoin, Bitbay & Particl - Decentralized Markets Comparison Table on: November 05, 2017, 12:32:35 AM
Thanks for putting this chart together. It’s so well done. I love sys and I’ve neve looked at bitbay more than just a glance. I will take a second look now.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x and Qoinpro (Possible Scam?) on: November 05, 2017, 12:25:30 AM
I’ve been doing qoinpro for a coupleof months. It’s not a scam so far but it loks better than it’s advertised for sure. It’s like a faucet where i accumulate like $0.01 of btc every few days for signing up to their wallet. Yay. Really it’s a promotion for their wallet.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How good is the ZRX team? on: November 04, 2017, 10:57:10 PM
They’re all really young and inexperienced, including their technical people. I’m not sure I’d put that much faith in them, but maybe I’m just an old fashioned curmudgeon. They do have a couple of great advisors, like the co founder of coinbase, but advisers are not always very involved. Personally, I’d stay out. It might be a good project in the very long run.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Palm Beach Pick is Ripple on: November 03, 2017, 03:14:10 AM
I kind of doubt that a leak would happen again, two months in a row. That pretty much kills Teeka’s value proposition. Why pay $3k for an issue of the Palm Beach Confidential when you can stalk bitcointalk and see the pick before the issue even comes out   Roll Eyes

I like ripple and own a bunch and hope it does well but come on. It’s not the next pick.

He didn't say it was the next pick, he said it was one of his picks and it was the one they mentioned for free in the webinar. He also hinted at another 'private' crypto currency which we found out was ZenCash.

I’m listening to the webinar now. It sounds like a really bad infomercial. How long does it run?

149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO standard for absolute investor protection ?? on: November 02, 2017, 02:05:43 AM
I actually think it’s a brilliant idea. You can put it all in a smart contract so investors will know when money is released improperly and that money can be released when x% of investors agree. Trustless system.  It would motivate developers to have to show progress if they want more money.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CME GROUP FUTURES = BITCOIN OPTIONS on: November 02, 2017, 02:00:47 AM
CME group inc, the worlds largest derivatives exchange operator said the would launch futures contract for Bitcoin later this year....

This is big news and really a conformation Bitcoin is here to stay. Very Happy to see this as I enjoy trading options......

I think this is awesome news. This is a good sign of crypto going mainstream. Bitcoin will get noticed and institutional money will hopefully start pouring in. Then hopefully the alts will catch on. Time to buy before it becomes big!
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the first thing you consider before investing in an ICO? on: November 01, 2017, 06:13:58 PM
Personally, my very first filter is if I am familiar with the industry. I won’t invest in an industry I don’t understand how it works (like supercomputers) because I won’t be able to tell if the white paper is good or a bunch of garbage.

Then I look at the quality of the white paper and of the team
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They Must Evolve or Die! on: November 01, 2017, 02:01:50 AM
I agree. It’s almost like they don’t know they have competitors now and people with good projects hot on their heels. If they don’t keep innovating someone will come soon with a better product and overtake them. Technology moves so fast and there are lots of great ideas out there. These coins can’t just sit on their past achievements and they can’t stay quiet about their new achievements either. Marketing counts. See Apple vs Blackberry. BB used to be a giant. Now what? It’s dead because it didn’t innovate
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH - will it go lower on: October 31, 2017, 02:33:30 AM
There are three guarantees with any asset: the value will go up, down, or sideways.

Speculating the price of Ethereum in the short-term is pretty difficult. There's a lot of expectation riding on Ethereum, and hiccups are likely to be met with extreme periods of volatility. Any investment in Ethereum should be an investment for the long-term. If you don't believe in the long-term prospects for Ethereum, don't invest.

Except that you need Eth to participate in ICOs so you have to buy even if you don’t believe it’s a good investment Wink
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins have a decreasing circulating amount over time? on: October 31, 2017, 01:59:43 AM
Datum will burn tokens used in each transaction. The Datum ico is live now
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Let's talk near-future possible scenarios for top altcoins on: October 30, 2017, 12:55:33 AM
I think these alts, Ripple, Monero and Eth will be stuck in their prices for a while, for different reasons. I don’t think they will massively dump though. I think what would make them go higher is for Ripple, a big announcement, Monero has a lot of competition and it needs to show it’s taking it seriously. I’m not sure what ETH needs. There are so many ETH based icos and yet the price is steady.

I don’t think these three coins, which the possible exception for ETH, are a safe harbor for investors when they get rid of Bitcoin.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OMG Releasing Road Map Tomorrow on: October 29, 2017, 11:33:14 PM

Thanks! That indeed is an “interesting “ roadmap. It’s very  unconventional. I don’t know if they’re trying to build a “culture” around some of their lingo or if they’re being serious. There were a lot of words in that roadmap but very few dates and targets for deliverables. It’s a bit of a pity.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are coins accepted by the Exodus wallet a safe(r) bet? on: October 29, 2017, 09:37:56 PM
Exodus doesn’t have that many coins. There are more coins that are legit than those in the wallet. So if you’re only relying on Exodus for research you’re missing out potentially.  Also Exodus makes no claim these coins will be profitable. Dyor.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good ICO there? on: October 29, 2017, 08:46:34 PM
The Datum ico is just starting. I think it’s a great and novel idea (obviously since I picked Datum for my sig campaign). The ANN thread is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2049312.0
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: OMG Releasing Road Map Tomorrow on: October 29, 2017, 08:41:33 PM
I can’t even FIND the roadmap on their site. Anyone have a link?
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GNOSIS and ARDOR. Are they the sae thing? on: October 28, 2017, 03:42:23 PM
I think you means Gnosis and Augur?

Ardor is a development platform, like NXT and ETH. Not a prediction.

Regardless there are many reasons why similar ideas can vary in cost. That’s true for every thing in life. You can buy a car for $2000 and you can buy a car for $200,000. Why? Isn’t a car a car?
