Nope sorry for the confusion, I was just giving some details on my hardware setting, each Avalon is slightly different, I have also replaced the TIM with paste on each module to allow it to run cooler allowing me to run at 360 Mhz stable. From my testing the hashing indeed remains constant, however H/W increase over time e.g. over 48 hours without restart, after running for long periods I see 6 - 8% which is just wasted electricity, so a quick cgminer restart solves all this Smiley

My advice for your setup is to have cgminer restart every x amount of hours keeping H/W errors low, use whatever Mhz setting keeps your units hashing high as possible and stable. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry for budding in here, but are you saying the HW on the status page is the errors? And when you mention keeping it low, what's the magic number? Smiley

Thanks

what i realised, was that my units was running (b2 3u) at 83-85gh for 3-4 days on eligius. then all of a sudden, they drop to 75-70gh.. for no real reason, hashrate seems same on machines, but hw rate increases. Basically, if you see 83gh on eligius or in your pool always, you don't have our problem. if you see it dropping, add reset script line.

Thanks yes i understood that. super. I mean, the line you gave, maybe ill change it to every 20 hours, as it looks quite stable and high for even 70 hours.. but keeping a restart on a daily basis should be fine.
As for 360, maybe i will try 350, since they are in 20dgr ac room, but no hardware mods at all.
144  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: October 17, 2013, 07:57:58 AM
I have tried the latest official and reverted back to the last CK firmware version as it was more stable for me, I run at 360 Mhz with H/W at about 1.4%

However after running cgminer for days the H/W error rate would always creep up, so now I just run a cgminer restart in scheduled task, below will restart cgminer every 8 hours. Keeps my H/W rate low.

0  */8 *   *   *     /etc/init.d/cgminer restart

so you are suggesting to set fixed 360 instead of 340? and add the restart each 8 hours?
I assume that its H/W that goes up for me aswell, as hashingpower seems to remain, and all boards are hashing at next to identical numbers.
145  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: October 17, 2013, 07:09:24 AM
Hey, i realised that my units are much stabler, on -avalon-auto and chip freq 340 fixed. (without --avalon-freq 340-375, if i had this on, it defaulted on much less than 340 after a few days).

however, now it went down to a default again to around 330 after 4 solid days.
Anything i can do? or must i put a cron job to restart every 24 hours to keep it solid?
(i'm running latest ckolivas, have not tried the latest official yet)
146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 16, 2013, 07:45:37 PM
so on a 2.x order placed.. how much will these payback really until electricity is too much..
if i put on btcinvest, 1 jump and 60GH, its lifetime when starting to hash on next increase (20% increase, with a 3% lower) its lifetime is 8 btc..
Month of February (1100MM diff), it will barely make 1btc. i believe thats the month it gets sold or powered off? pending on value of btc, if its $300, it can be kept another month or 2 maybe..

147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 16, 2013, 07:38:09 PM
jup, just got email aswell. order confirmed, shipping soon.
148  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 16, 2013, 03:56:08 PM
lets see about shipping. i calculate on it being included for sure. as yifu website, all is shipping included. and he mentioned this is his first test. and if its a success he will do more.
he had orders of more than 650 units at times, so for sure, with 500 instock, its a success. Price is ok, not GREAT.. I mean, if they launch an auction on gen 2 within a week or two, maybe we are all sorry here for going all in on the mini's when we could have faster/more efficient gen2's in a few weeks time.
Time will tell. i'm sure here to find out.
149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 16, 2013, 03:52:48 PM
Tradehill has returned my unused BTC back to my account today, I was worried it would of somehow disappeared YiFU style....

i got my extra back also, funds i didnt place inside bids.
150  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon's Second Gen / october release on: October 15, 2013, 05:56:58 PM

151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 14, 2013, 02:35:15 PM
any idea how screwed I am with 128 chips?  Looking at mining calculators looks like I'll only make $700 in a year, am I way off or is the calculator flawed?
http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/e41625025c
I doubt the percentage will remain 100%+ per month, but im new to this, any updated predictions guys?

It won't make you a single dollar. The miners makes bitcoins! Its an important difference..  that some people seems to neglect.
If you believe the coins will go up, invest in coins. If you belive you can buy mining hardware for less than cost of coins, buy mining hardware.
It seems according you your calculation, if you remove extra fees and the 2% silly mining pool fee, will make a total of 7.44 btc, not including power costs.
The value of those coins, are worth as much as they are worth when you sell them and only then.
From the looks of the calculation, your last month of mining will be in the month of January, if difficulty by then hits 1361MM you will only make 0.5BTC, which should be similiar to your electricity cost pending on the value btc/usd at that time.
Then again, if the difficulty increase slows off which some people dont think it will, you might make more, maybe 10BTC until then or that it happends later that hardware becomes obsolete.
Or , that you are able to sell it on ebay for a lot more than buyers are willing to pay for it here while you have already mined with it for a while.
On ebay, dont show TGB link, only show this link http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/, which does not calculate difficulty updates..
152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: October 14, 2013, 09:03:42 AM
can i use 2 original avalon power supply 750W for power one avalon 4 modules. if yes i need to buy only 2 power supply 1000W

I tried asking about this aswell. Seems like a few is able to do that. However, it seems as some PUS's shorts GROUND with 12v when they are powered off. So should one fail, it might for sure burn the entire unit (i have no idea if this "functionality" can be disabled easily).. It would be optimal for me aswell, to be able to use 2 cheap psu's instead of one incredible expensive one to add another module to the units.

when you clic on tradehill actions i obtain Tradehill Moving Forward. impossible to see actions

Correct, until you are verified.
154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: October 13, 2013, 07:26:32 PM

I was refering to Tradehill not Yifu concerning the Identity theft, Tradehill is not a good place to leave your ID unattended.

Interesting. Why would yifu use such an untrusted source? (if he's now making a mense, and selling his avalon minis for cheap, using tradehill..)

Why would he use them if they are dodgy, and all he wants is ship his stock of 500 minis?

There are about 240 new Avalons, 2 module, 60 GH/s, at auction for 2 BTC.

When I go to the line all I get is a blank screen. Sad

I'm registered & logged in.  Perhaps that matters.

What's the main URL then silly?Smiley

tradehill is dead and close

Tradehill Moving Forward

Many of you have come to know Tradehill as the digital currency exchange of choice. We have suspended trading on the Tradehill platform, due to banking and regulatory issues. This decision has not been made lightly and we regret having to take such action. However, we embrace the silver lining of our situation and plan to take this opportunity to upgrade, improve, and polish our trading platform.

Tradehill registered with FinCEN in August 2013 and is actively engaging with banks and regulators to continue development of future business products and practices.

We would like to thank our clients, current and past partners, supporters, and advocates for all their continued support. The Bitcoin space has proven to be an exciting and dynamic environment. We are proud to have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this new domain.

For those eager to stay informed of our trading platform and new product releases, please sign-up for our e-mail list below and we’ll keep you updated.

I think you misread something. Likely in the not so distant past Tradehill was a digital currency exchange site for bitcoin, now they are no longer that but probably still receive emails from people asking them, so that that's why we are seeing this message.

It has nothing to do with them becoming an auction outlet.

its overclocked to 375MH each chip. not 275MH.. Since they are 2 boards only, they could never get 60GH without high OC.
My worries are, if you look at winning bids, it seems that all our bids ranging from 2BTC to 2.2BTC show up as NOT winning bids.. It could mean he has a minimum accept.. Which would be sad.

As for the identity theft, that would be pretty interesting of yifu to at this stage, with thousands of chips left over, to somehow try and steal passports? it seems he is ready to ship his leftover gen1´s (i hope at starting bid price). And willing to "do right" and start fresh when gen2 is available.
If they needed my eu-passport for some intricate online scam, i wish them good luck. Seriously doubt it though.

I believe tradehill used to be an online e-commerce site. Now recently "restarted"..

On the basis you can buy NEW Avalon 2 module 60GH units for 2 BTC now this would be worth no more than 13-14 BTC...

false for avalon 2 modules. price is 9BTC and not 2 btc
its correct.. they lowered recently on tradehill to 2..

I sold something
person paid.
escrow held money
I sent product
guy got product said it was bad or not what he wanted
I said ok
sent back a box with a brick in it
Escrow returned his money.

And who did you use as escrow?
159  Economy / Auctions / Re: 11 Terahash/second for auction on: October 12, 2013, 10:42:53 AM
this is hashing now? pm me the eligius account you are mining on.
EU?
You are familiar with the workings of escrow? Escrower receives funds, you send goods. Only when goods are verified in hand you receive the funds..
