141  Economy / Economics / Re: Imminent DOW Meltdown on: February 09, 2018, 03:28:32 AM
So...doesn't look like anyone took it seriously when I posted this a few weeks back.

Right now we're seeing a "correction", however nobody knows where the real bottom will be, and whether the reprieve will be long or short term.

If the major indexes tumble, do you think cryptos will become a safe haven?

Do you hold both traditional (securities, commodities, precious metals, etc.) and digital assets, and how would you disburse your holdings in the event of a major meltdown/try to plan ahead?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't panic! on: February 08, 2018, 06:42:47 AM
I think we've probably hit the bottom, and are back on the road to recovery. If you read the crypto press, the analysts are still very bullish, predicting BTC at $50k and a combined market cap in excess of 1 trillion dollars by EoY. Hold tight my brothers and sisters, and buy while it's low, if you can spare the cash.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: February 08, 2018, 06:34:58 AM
Don't feed the trolls, it just encourages them. A fool does not accept correction, for a fool is just a fool. Their stupidity is self-apparent.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hadron Cloud - Browser mining that's fair from the start on: February 07, 2018, 07:33:55 PM
It can be interesting if we see their token listed on an exchange and start trading too, we should see the value girst and not work for pennies, i hope it will be good for miners.

Even if the tokens trade for pennies once they get on exchanges, it's still worth the effort, given the low power requirements required to mine this token. On my PC with two tabs running (mining), my Chrome CPU usage is at 0.6% max. That leaves a ton a free resources to either mine other coins, or get on with your day-to-day gamining/work/web browsing etc. The cost of mining Hadron in the background is minimal. If you're using your PC for regular tasks or other mining, you're basically making pure profit.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HADRON.cloud Discussion on: February 07, 2018, 07:28:29 PM
It's a self moderated topic, and I don't like projects associated with those. The dev can delete any awkward comments instead of addressing them.

Self moderation shouldn't necessarily be seen as a negative. When an admin gets too trigger happy deleting negative posts, users are free to start their own discussion threads, such as this one. Self-moderation is useful for keeping out scammers and FUDders that are just out to manipulate markets/discredit the product in order to boost competitors. I haven't seen anything in the team's behavior that would suggest that they can't take a little criticism and respond professionally to genuine questions and concerns.

From my personal experience to date, the platform works beautifully, consuming minimal system resources, making it an ideal background mining application. Meaning you can either mine and multitask with your day to day applications while keep your electricity bills low, or combine with other traditional CPU or GPU mining to max out your rigs output. Either way, it's a win win.

Glad to see this project is still alive and kicking. Is there an iOS app on the horizon?
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: February 07, 2018, 06:25:08 PM
It amazes me that people are still spewing mindless, unfactual FUD on this thread. Unless these folks just have too much time on their hands, sitting in their underpants in their mothers basements, you have to ask - who does it benefit? Working for a competitor maybe? Trying to make the price drop to buy more? Either way, it would be nice to see the mods taking a more active roll and whipping these charlatans back under the rocks they crawled out from.

Project looks pretty interesting, are there any territorial restrictions for the ICO, and what will the KYC requirements be? Sorry if I missed it while skimming over the site.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $ 100,000 will be in 2018? on: February 05, 2018, 06:45:29 PM
$100k is unlikely, however there are numerous analysts predicting $40k be EoY. Might be hard to believe at the moment, but if there's one thing we've learnt about cryptocurrencies, is their resilience and to always expect the unexpected.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: porn/sex industry and cryptocurrency on: February 05, 2018, 06:42:32 PM
Anyone can create and market a sex services coin, but unless it's super easy to use via a mobile app, it ain't going to go anywhere, which is why they all fail. Also, while you can market them on crypto forums and the likes, how do you get the word out to the actual sex workers? In the US you could do a sponsorship at the Player's Ball, but then you'd be promoting it to the pimps, not the girls. No adoption, no market, no use.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Don't believe the FUD.

152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5k to invest in crypto . on: February 02, 2018, 09:38:55 PM
Getting to $500k by mid 2019 without a lot of trading might be little unrealistic. If you buy $5k of BTC or ETH and they go x4 current prices, that would still only be around $20k.

I'd look for coins with bigger potential, and more towards coins with AML compliance than high anonymity. If governments really start to crack down, they'll be safe havens.

Here's a small handful that you should probably take a look at...

XRP - it's cheap right now, and will moon again soon due to the real world applications within banking.
QSP - is an auditing platform for Ethereum smart contracts, which is likely to be in high demand given some of the recent security issues
Ploy - PolyMath has just launched the first securities token, and can only be transferred to KYC validated wallets, making it one of the first fully AML compliant tokens on the market
WAVES - Waves is an upcoming competitor to Ethereum, without the barriers of entry. No need to spend days/weeks trying to sync the block chain with a buggy client/wallet, and you can lease your coins to a master node straight from the wallet, and start earning WAVES and a bunch of other coins/tokens at the same time.

Good luck.

Couldn't agree more, and like I've said before...

154  Economy / Speculation / Re: My bitcoin prediction for 2018 on: February 02, 2018, 06:23:08 PM
Bitcoin will probably drop more over the coming weeks before starting to rebound. Lightning network has processed over 1000 transactions over the last few days, so once fully deployed, BTC will become a viable medium for small payments, which should send if soaring again in the next couple of months.

BTW, can you post your research/data?
155  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: February 02, 2018, 06:15:19 PM
It's pretty simple...a couple of glasses (especially with food), is actually good for you (do the research grandpa). Drinking 12 pints on a bender with your mates isn't.

The only drink containing ethyl alcohol which is beneficial for you is red wine. Red wine is rich in Resveratrol, which prevents certain types of cancer and vision loss (that said, raw grapes are an even better source for Resveratrol). Other alcoholic drinks are not beneficial to the body, in any quantity.

Sorry mate, but that's simply not true. Red wine is good for preventing cancer and helping with blood pressure/flow. Aperitifs are good for aiding digestion, and just about any alcohol (in small doses) appears to greatly reduces the risk of dementia - so all you t-totalers, have fun rocking back and forth in your chairs when you're old and grey.

Jeeze, you guys must be fun to be around at a party.

Getting a little drunk once in a while at a party? Fun...As long as you don't get out of hand, or drink so much that you blackout.

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AML BitCoin Token Sale is now LIVE ! on: February 01, 2018, 09:46:52 PM
After a month's silence AML Team finally responded on my demand for a refund with an email with newly constructed refund policies that didn't exist when I made the purchase on OCT 6th 2017. The documents say offer to give me the dollar value of ETH on the day of purchase so NAC Foundation can keep the 5x market appreciation of Ethereum in that period.

They're forgetting that I downloaded every document on their site that day. These documents did NOT exist on the site so they are NOT binding to investors who made a purchase that day.

If you're in the same situation as all of us early investors who have been badly screwed by NAC Foundation, Amlbitcoin and their team in this ICO, PLEASE DOT NOT accept to be cheated of the market appreciation on Cypto currencies you contributed. They either give you the exact units or nothing more or less!

If you gave NAC USD, they should return exact amount of  USD.
If you gave them BTC, LTC, ETH, they should return exact number of units you send them!

I'm having my legal team deal with them.

WHY DON'T THEY JUST LIST THE COIN ON THE EXCHANGE SO WE'RE OUT OF THIS ENTIRE MESS!
I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE YOU THAT DAYS FROM NOW, THEY WILL EXTEND THE ICO TO MARCH 15, APR 15 and even OCT 15 2018.

GOD! WHAT A MISTAKE INVESTING MY LIFE SAVINGS AND BORROWED MONEY IN AMLBITCOIN!

It took a while until the coins are in. I think this Coin will rule because of it is identify based.
You may be thrilled about it but I'm totally against it for a lot of economic and scientific assessments I have made. I'm one of the early investors on OCT 6th that is pissed for for how poorly this ICO has been run. Since investing on OCT, 6th I have done lots of personal research on the economic viability of this project versus others on the market===the result is nothing but REGRET!  Most of  my findings have been heavily negative and for now, I will keep the PDF report to myself.  I wanted to get out when they promise to end the ICO on Nov 15th--they instead extended phase 1. They then promised Dec 15th to list on HitBTC, NAC team changed their mind again  and decided to push this further. AND DOES ANYONE HERE FEEL STARVED FOR INFORMATION?  This thing my go a full 12 months of crowd funding! I can almost guarantee it!  But the promise will be next month and the next.
I sent 3 separate emails to Info@amlbitcoin.com over 24 hours ago and they have still NOT been replied!  I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS PROJECT! I WANT ALL MY ETHERS BACK! PLEASE RESPOND TO MY EMAILS . THANK YOU!

I got the same refund form, which even though it has a 'No Admission of Guilt" clause, opens with a statement saying that you have have commited acts ranging from defamation to extortion. The more time goes on, the shadier this project looks.

The first BIG red flag (aside from the constantly shifting timelines) was the request to send KYC via email. How are we ever supposed to trust a company with our PII if they don't even understand the fundamentals of data security? It's worse that Equifax, which is hard to beat. They might as well have put up a big poster saying..."Hey identity thiefs, come and hack our email servers for a bonanza payout!!!"

There are automated API driven services you can use for KYC, as recently demonstrated by PolyMath, who incidentally are fully AML/KYC compliant and conducted their launch within 6 weeks. NAC appear to be little more than con men.

I've refused to sign the agreement, and would like a full refund in ETH. The fact that they want to refund in $$ also begs the question...have the already cashed out, or are they just trying to creme the profits from inflation? Any above board ICO puts the funds in escrow until the sale is completed, so why can't they refund in the original currency? Oh yeah, I know why! I don't even have to say it. You already know.

I'm glad I only invested 2 ETH in this project. At this point I don't give damn about the loss. I want to see some justice.  If any of you feel you've been truly wronged by AML Bitcoin's dubious business practices, I suggest you report them to the SEC: https://www.sec.gov/tcr

159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FLiK on: February 01, 2018, 09:22:42 PM
That is nice.. Smiley
Now , keep entertaining  people with daily news..otherwise ... people will again start to think that project is dead and scam..

Sad to think that people have the attention span of a goldfish and the staying power of a blind lemming. In real world finance you don't have to give people an intravenous drip to keep the shakes at bay, just a QBR (quarterly business report). Which unfortunately, all the more underscores the naivety of the FOMO speculators in the crypto community.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SALE] GEENS - Privacy Focused Blockchain Timestamping Office on: February 01, 2018, 09:14:37 PM
How we can use/trade/send your GEE? How can send them to our wallet? Your GEE is ERC20 token? I have more than 1.000 GEE but don't know what and how I can do with them!
I am also interested in this issue
They answered a page back.
Hello,

Because soft cap was not reached, now GEE Tokens have little value, you will not be able to sell them. They are still reserved in your wallets and we are continuing with referrals, bounties and bonuses.

We plan to unlock GEE tokens some time in the future, when they gain their value and can be actively traded on the exchanges.

Expanding on this a little...If memory serves me properly, you can use them on the platform and make use of the Geens service, which in my mind is pretty valuable in of itself. Hopefully they'll relaunch the ICO at some point and give it a little longer to run. I think the timeline was too aggressive, even though the product was available to test. If the team ever wants to do a second run, I'd be happy to help with marketing in any capacity I can.
