Looks like the wallet occasionally reports the wrong amount of coins available also. After a rescan it works itself out. We need some serious bugs fixes.

Restoring windows on the notebook maybe this will help

There's definitely some compatibility issues in this release. My little netbook running windows 7 is running great. Can't get it working on my xp build. It was working (the xp machine) for a few days after "tricking" it with 2.1.1 then upgrading with a fully synchronized wallet, but it crashed and went back to not synching up properly again. Looking for a patch soon.

Angry Angry Angry

I understand that claymore has used some of the code to another developer, but it seems exaggerated to make a controversy and point the finger at a person, I remind you that if there were no developers we could go to extract money with crappy programs that create , not optimized, then I remember, and also the fastest miner that there is at this moment, I have not tried the silent miner, but I tried just to Genoil, I get 25 hs per card, while I get claymore 52 per card, then I saw that claymore and the only updates its miner, others do 1 max 2 updates and then stop, so do not always complain and thank those who work to make the miner home available for us fans ,.
Unfortunately, the human being does not understand what it means to be a community, and help each other, greed is rampant in our Veneda centuries, so I'm not surprised at all, find me some other miner for windows that exceeds 52 h / s of 390x on a single zcash. I say it does not exist.

sorry for my english.

google translador rulezzz   Grin Grin Wink

You are missing the point.
Claymore is using his good reputation (because of his other good miners) and he is stealing, and rebranding someone else's code.
It makes no difference if there is no other Windows miner at the moment (genoil called his own miner "a piece of shit"). You are still paying 2.5% of your hardware and electricity bill for a global replace and a compilation... to someone who admitted that he stole the code when he was caught...

And do have a look some posts before... some are reporting some "strange" behavior of his miner

Newbie account.

Claymore directly took control within 24 hours. New version is in the works with copyright notices included.

This is no longer an issue.

Sounds to me more like professional jealously.

Absolutely not. Some users discovered it and simply told me about it: https://forum.z.cash/t/silentarmy-v3-now-a-full-miner-multi-gpu-stratum/3580/629

Smiley Right on. Live and let live. I stand corrected.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.1 on: November 06, 2016, 06:22:17 AM
Keep calm people. It may be just a rumor.
It isn't a rumor when the author of part of the code clearly says his code has been infringed without due credit.

The author of the code can't know if it was infringed without seeing the source.  The authors solver is slower, uses more VRAM, uses a lot more CPU, and PCIe bandwidth, runs on fewer cards, and crashes a lot. Why would you want to copy that?
The author of the code was able to see part of it. Claymore got in a rush to release a linux version and didn't secure the release from partial inspection. That inspection found direct copying of code without permission from the author of that code or credit given under the MIT license.

Sounds to me more like professional jealously.

SWEET CHRISTMAS!

You've done it again @Claymore Smiley

thanks!

Hey guys is there a linux miner yet?

If yes can someone point me to the instructions to set this up on linux.

Download link is on top page. All docs are included.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.1 on: November 05, 2016, 08:54:50 PM
MSI R7950 Twin Frozr cards are running on average 38 per card. I'm happy. Smiley Thank you Claymore.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.0 on: November 04, 2016, 06:08:16 PM
Wow  hitting 320 sols/s with 6 390x.  Thanks for this
same issue as others with nicehash.. upon disconnect of dev fee the miner rejects shares..  and nicehash runs the diff sky high on the shares so its an abnormal amount of work lost.
Thanks again
The stability is amazing thus far.  I applaud your skills.  you seem to have a way with the bits;)
best regards
d57heinz

I will check it, probably I will release an update in a day.

Linux version ETA?

One day.

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Claymore, you're an asset to the community.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.3 (Windows/Linux) on: November 03, 2016, 09:32:19 PM
I own 15 pcs of 5*R9 390x and 5*480x rigs.Installed V7.3 version and mining ether solo.

3 days ago I asked for a static IP from my telecom operator.

Yestereday, my rigs quited mining.I changed my pool (from coinotron to coinmine.pl).My static ip rigs gave up mining however my internet connection is fast and seems stable.

Do you experience such a problem?I connect from Serbia to Europe servers. The room is a well cooled room, with low humidity, electricity understructure is a 3 phase and grounded. So the temperature and power are eliminated among the possible causes.

You really are mining ethereum NOW? Cool.

ETH profitability jumped a fair bit when ZEC went live.

In the absence of a decent LINUX/AMD miner, I've still got my 3 primary rigs mining ETH at the moment.
(No, I WON'T support xxternal and his propriatary pool/miner BS - and given the MASSIVE number of comments about held or non-existant payouts, I'm VERY HAPPY with my stance).

I prefer ethmine over ethpool, but the only major difference between the two is the payout method, and I don't have THAT massive of hashrate available.

you have Smiley

I installed zog, and I can't get it to recognize more than one card.

Hi guys. I have been away for a while.
Do we have to update the wallet? Mine seems to be working just fine.
I am contributing 250,000 to Lyke. Is anyone else doing this?
Cheers

I would contribute also, but I never heard back.

I appear to be having trouble synchronizing on windows XP. Windows 7 works okay however.

Yes after the update I am having syncing problems with windows 10,  no problems prior to update.

I have tried a fresh install and removed all left over files from previous version but still not syncing so i have now gone back to version 2.1.1 and again no problems.

Any idea guys?

Looks like I got the wallet running under XP. I let it synchronize using version 2.1.1, then I reinstalled 2.1.6. When it asked if I wanted to install the config file, I deselected it. The installer then informed me it detected a config file already installed, I clicked next and it proceeded to uninstall 2.1.1, then install version 2.1.6. Everything is trucking along smoothly.

*Edit: Everything was working well until the application crashed on the XP machine. Now I'm having the same problems as before. It's not synching up properly. Win 7 still works great.

A reminder to backup your wallet before you upgrade.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin | PoW to PoS v. 2.0 | Solar Proof of Generation (§1 = 1MWh) on: October 26, 2016, 12:16:38 AM
I'm having an issue updating with Windows 7.

Updating through the wallet appeared to be successful but after the wallet reopens version 2.1.1 is still displayed in the bottom left corner. If you select the Check For Update option under the Help tab it will try to download and install 2.1.6 again.

I retried installing 2.1.6 again but this time I downloaded the file using the download link on the website. The installation process completed once more but with exactly the same result as when installing through the wallet.

I haven't tried a complete uninstall at this point but if others are also having issues I will wait before trying again.

Uninstall 2.1.1, and reinstall 2.1.6, it should fix the issue. I had to do that with my windows 7 machine.

Compatibility issues. Looks like this release needs a little tweaking. I can confirm it works great in windows 7.

Just FYI. I will be in attendance here as an invited guest in the audience sharing the SolarCoin story with folks: http://www.wef2016.org/event-schedule/#pane-0-3

I wish I could be a fly on the wall for that.

The reload blockchain option has worked on the desktop, so I'll copy this back to the laptop and see how it goes. Not sure why it didn't work on the laptop directly though, maybe it's just slow and old, like myself.  Grin

Thanks once again for the assistance.

You can try deleting everything except the wallet file in the %appdata%/solarcoin folder then reloading the blockchain. It's sometimes required. It's a little buggy, but the workarounds always work.

Hi all,

Looking for some assistance, hope someone here can help. I've been staking for a while now on an old Windows 7 laptop of mine but Sunday past the region in which I live suffered a power outage for around 10 hours. The laptop has been running off mains power as the battery is no good, consequently the laptop was also down for these 10 hours.

Once power was restored I fired up the laptop and the SolarCoin wallet successfully but the wallet has been stuck on Syncing ever since. I've tried a rescan but this still results in the wallet remaining in Syncing.

I've tried installing the current 2.1.1 wallet on an alternative Windows 7 PC and using a wallet backup, again the wallet will not sync fully and seems to get "stuck" at the same point each time. Both the PC and laptop have network connections, so connectivity does not appear to be the issue. If I copy the contents of AppData/Roaming/SolarCoin from the laptop to the PC I also get the same result.

I've disabled staking on the wallet to see if this has any effect, the wallet still remains as Syncing and all I see is the Blocks Remaining count slowly increase as other nodes find blocks.

Looking at debug.log I'm currently showing a consistent stream of ORPHAN BLOCK messages for a number of IPs - not sure if this is related.

Using checkwallet in console shows "wallet check passed" : true.

I'm stuck for ideas, so any suggestions are greatly welcome and appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Reload the blockchain, that should clear things up.

To improve the UX (user experience) we are looking at lightweight wallets that don't require downloading the entire blockchain, sometimes called SPV wallets.  Does anyone have preferences or biases/experience with any of these or other light weight wallets. These would be non-staking, but helpful for many.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/#/overview

The coinomi wallet works pretty well. It doesn't download the chain, yet still functions as expected. It's still in beta for Solarcoin, but I haven't experienced any troubles. The only thing I don't like, you have to either write down, or take a photo of the very long encrypted keyword for the generated wallet so you won't lose your coins in case of trouble. It is however very secure which I do like, but it's also a bit cumbersome. If there's no better way around that I could live with it.
