141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Boring Ethereum on: September 07, 2018, 10:32:21 AM
Ethereum really has taken a battering the past couple of months and even more so the last week or so. Quite annoying for me as I exchanged some bitcoin to Eth early this year and it's lost half it's value and looks like it might keep falling.I still believe in eth long term but it's always annoying and alarming when a currency falls so much and especially for no serious or identifiable reason.

Last time, the ethereum loses its price and it upsets the holders. I think the 1k mark is insurmountable for the ethereum this year, but I believe that in 2019 he is able to do it.

I doubt eth will get back to 1k for a very long time, just like bitcoin probably won't hit it's all time high again any time soon, but I think looking longer term both btc and eth can get back there eventually. We just have to have some patience and keep doing our part to spread adoption.
142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops sharply by about 300$ today! on: September 07, 2018, 10:17:36 AM
Many people are linking this sudden fall in the price of Bitcoin as a speculating  news which states that CFO of Goldman Sachs was planning to drop a plan to build a Bitcoin trading platform, causing the price of the cryptocurrency to crash. I mean,  I guess some investors might have held in to Bitcoin because of this plan. Now Goldman Sachs has clarify this as a false news,  hopefully the price will recover back.

This is news to me, but that doesn't make any sense to me at all. Who said that? Why would someone building an exchange cause the price to fall, especially the CFO of Goldman Sachs? That sounds like good news to me so why wouldn't the price go the opposite way?

what investors are speculating however is that they believe the ETF rejection by the end of this month can cause some drops so they want to be ready for that opportunity to buy in the dip.

Possibly. I just hope if/when it is denied (which it probably will be) that it doesn't fall any more.
143  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 22 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: September 07, 2018, 10:11:10 AM

We probably blocked access from his country because our licence does not cover it.

We have several countries blocked from accessing our site.

Do you have a list of countries that are blocked by PrimeDice/Stake or what countries your license extends to? It's weird. I can use PrimeDice and Stake fine, but sometimes I get ads for other sites and they say they're blocked in my country (not bitcoin gambling sites but other sportsbooks or casinos).
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency? on: September 07, 2018, 10:03:08 AM
Just some bad news about Bitcoin as well as electronic money like scam, people may have a different perspective on it, even they can ignore its faces. They can not invest in it when they think their money will always be lost.
So, in order to create the trust of others, the thing to do is create their knowledge and trust in Bitcoin.

FUD IE Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt will be a big factor. A lot of people I encounter fear bitcoin because they don't understand it properly, but also because they believe all the FUD they hear about it that it's a scam or when it's in the media these days it's usually for something negative like losing value or someone has been arrested or somebody has scammed someone with bitcoin etc. These all contribute to the negative image bitcoin has and scares a lot of the skeptical users away.
145  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best movies you have watched in 2017? on: September 05, 2018, 06:46:59 PM
Blade Runner 2049. Thought it was much better than the original, which I watched right before it. Was way ahead of its time when it was released but seems a little dated now,
146  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: September 05, 2018, 06:41:33 PM
why are all terror activities carried out in the world are by people of muslim religion? Why cant muslims let peace be there in the world? Are people of only muslim origins terrorist?so trumps decision by banning muslim is 100% correct?

What sort of unholy nonsense is this? 99% of Muslims probably don't commit terrorism or any other acts of violence.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Satoshi sell his bitcoins? on: September 05, 2018, 06:22:14 PM
Why would Satoshi want to sell his Bitcoins? I would hold on to them if I were him at least until they will reach 1 million dollars valuation per coin.

For the same reason anyone else would. Have you never sold any bitcoin you've ever had and are holding out for one million dollar price tag? You might be waiting awhile. What if that time never comes and bitcoin goes to zero before it gets anywhere near 7 figures? You've lost everything then. Have you ever thought that maybe satoshi doesn't really care about fame or fortune either?

Who the hell gonna sell those and buy fiat money. Satoshi is working the economy to help the poor to bank and unbanked surpass other emerging market especially those tangible product. Still Satoshi wants us happy to help other people

Umm... how about the hundreds of thousands of people that are 'buying' fiat money everyday and selling their coins for cash. Anybody would be pretty stupid to keep all their money in one asset. I don't think you know what satoshi wants either and anything you say is just speculation based on nothing.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Satoshi sell his bitcoins? on: September 05, 2018, 02:10:44 PM
If Satoshi really exists, I think he has no problems with bitcoins. He can sell them as much as he likes. But no one knows if he really exists. It would be interesting to get acquainted with such a person.

That's not really the question here, but of course "he" exists. Who do you think created bitcoin? Magical bitcoin elves or the technology evolved out of nothing? Maybe AI or aliens created it?

Satoshi might be a single person or a group, but he or they definitely existed. Personally I think it was probably one guy but that's just my opinion.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Satoshi sell his bitcoins? on: September 05, 2018, 01:56:19 PM
Supposedly Satoshi holds over 1 million bitcoins, do you guys think he will ever end up selling his stash off?  At one point he was worth over 20 billion dollars and at current prices he is worth over 7 billion dollars which is a staggering amount.

Asking whether satoshi will ever sell his coins is like asking if Jesus will come back from the dead. Nobody can say for sure, but probably not  Cheesy. I think if satoshi was ever going to sell his coins then he would have  likely already done so by now, or maybe he's just the worlds longest bitcoin hodler?  Grin. I think satoshi is either dead, lost access to his coins, or maybe just purposely abandoned them to make it fairer. If he does ever come back though I hope he's wise and fair enough not to just dump them all and sell them off slowly and bit by bit as to not cause a panic. Probaby best for everyone of they just remain dormant however.
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin drops sharply by about 300$ today! on: September 05, 2018, 01:51:47 PM
What is interesting is that the price goes up very slow right now but falls incredibly fast, even though it was not a large drop but still 300$ in few minutes means someone sold a whole lot of BTC.

The gravity of reality can be a bitch and what goes up must come down. There's always resistance on the uptrend and a not as much when it comes crashing back down to earth and this has a spiraling effect when weak hands start panic selling. I wouldn't sweat the small stuff though as these ups and downs are just part of bitcoin and we should learn to ride them out as there will be a hell of a lot more of this to come.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Boring Ethereum on: September 05, 2018, 01:23:11 PM
who else notice the boring part of ethereum for the past month now?
I'm actually fed up for it day by day losing out price.
Who else thinks or notice that ethereum can make it to $1k in 2018 again, or what do you guys think.

Lol. How is it boring? Just because the value is going down instead of up? Are you new to crypto or something? Nothing is crypto is guaranteed and all coins have their ups and downs. If you believe in eth then you should keep holding, but if you don't then maybe you should get out whilst you can. Personally I think eth is one of the better alt coins and actually has some real-world uses with smart contracts etc, so I think this is just a temporary lul. It's probably even a good time to buy some more because I think it will reach it's all time high again at some point in the future, but that's just my own personal opinion and speculation.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I give up now? on: September 05, 2018, 01:20:01 PM
It's better to earn real tokens, not fake ones as most of these ICO's are scams and they promise in any method to scam people. I joined so many Airdrops, bounties, but only 2 to 3 paid me and they were in less price. I wasted my time by promoting them on Social media sites.
I suggest you to discover much, but after all these also they don't pay anything for us.

What exactly are "real" tokens? Personally I wouldn't do any work for anyone on here if it wasn't paid in an established coin like bitcoin or eth, but giving away free tokens is how these ICOs work. Most ICOs are ways to get rich quick which are just based on crappy ideas in the first place and in turn they give you worthless tokens for your effort. I would advise you to stop advertising for them if you don't believe in what they're saying or offering because you probably are just going to be wasting your time.
153  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-04] Roger Ver and Jimmy Song to Debate Bitcoin on Blockchain Cruise on: September 05, 2018, 01:11:40 PM
Interesting... what is exact this cruise ship? maybe other people can go and listen too Smiley

Why don't you spend five minutes doing some research on this? If you clicked the link above you would find all you need to know about it. It's basically like bitcoin conference but instead of renting out a venue you rent out a cruise ship and it sails around a few places.

You can buy tickets for it here: https://coinsbank.com/cruise-europe?#section-home

Quote
On Friday September 7, Coinsbank’s Blockchain Cruise will depart from Barcelona with 2,500 cryptocurrency enthusiasts on board. Among those present will be a number of the industry’s leading figures including such mavericks as John McAfee and Brock Pierce. On September 10, the cruise liner will dock in Ibiza, where one for sure highlight of the trip is scheduled to take place.

At 1pm, Roger Ver and Jimmy Song will face one another in a debate that has been framed as Cash vs Core. Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver is a passionate advocate of Bitcoin Cash and its low fees, on-chain scaling, and focus on real world adoption. Jimmy Song, on the other hand, is a proud Bitcoin Core evangelist. Through his writing and development work, he has been a tireless source of support for all things Bitcoin. Both men were preaching the gospel of Bitcoin before it was cool, and remain staunch proponents to this day.
154  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-03] Tom Lee: Bitcoin to Hit $20k in 2018 Despite Struggle of Emerging M on: September 05, 2018, 01:03:55 PM
Already September and it's a few months to the end of the year, the price is currently at $ 7300, we only have a possibility of a price increase in the range of $ 10,000, I speak of a possible approval of ETF on September 30 , but see that even if an ETF were approved on September 30, I do not believe the price would reach $ 20,000. no chance to see $ 20,000 this year. I think Tom Lee needs to give his arm to cheer that his price forecast is very exaggerated and has no chance of becoming a reality this year

Tom Lee missed a point with Consensus 2018 correlation prediction...

A lot of analysts failed their price prediction for this year, just see that a lot of them do not show their faces on the bitcoin news channels.

Am I the only one becoming bullish in the forum? Whenever I bring up Tom Lee's prediction, everyone appears to be skeptical about it. Less bearish, but very skeptical. There is nothing negative or wrong with that, but maybe this is the best time to buy when there is blood on the streets.

Predictions are dime a dozen and anyone can make them. They're just wishful thinking and not exactly science. It just gets tedious for me to read every day this guy says bitcoin is going to go to X and this other guy says bitcoin is going to Y and then fox news says bitcoin is a bubble and NBC says something else.

May be in december, I think it's possible, like last year.

What do you base this on? Just because it happened last year doesn't mean it will this year. Without anything significant happening I can't see any significant rise in value either.
155  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-04] Is the future of Bitcoin in ETF? on: September 05, 2018, 12:58:24 PM
Don't get me wrong, I think ETFs are potentially huge for bitcoin and a big step in the right direction for mainstream acceptance and will surely open up doors to more investors and the general public which will obviously all come with financial benefit due to increased demand, but we certainly shouldn't pin all our hopes and dreams on them. What if they never actually get the go ahead? Maybe they will and maybe they won't, but they're certainty not the entire future of bitcoin that's for sure.
An ETF approval is only a matter of time, really. The only point I don't agree with, is the fact that most people blindly assume that an ETF will have a significant impact on the market.

I don't see anyone here ever point out that there might not be much demand for an ETF at all. And then we don't know if the ETF that will be approved will be backed by Bitcoin or not, which is quite an important factor too.

If it's not backed by Bitcoin at all, there will be next to no actual effect on the spot market, even if the demand is significant enough to consider it a successful ETF launch. That's definitely something to keep in mind.

I don't want to sound all that negative, but there is no point to hype up something with no proven track record either. I want Bitcoin to succeed based on legit user demand, and we can definitely work towards that goal slowly but surely.

I'm not so sure it's only a matter of time. They might just think it is too risky and volatile to allow. Why haven't they accepted one already as there's been several requests and all have been denied so far. I hope this isn't the case and one will be accepted eventually but I wouldn't put all my money on it.

I also disagree with you in that I do think it will have a significant effect on bitcoin. We already saw a drop in value when a couple of them were denied before, and I think one finally being given the green light will be very exciting for people and cause increased demand and a price spike. It's probably not going to go to the moon again because of it and I don't think we'll see a new all time high or anything because of it but I think it will be very significant.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: September 04, 2018, 06:56:55 PM
Only 80%? I'd say that's a conservative estimate. I prefer 99%  Grin. Seriously though, it depends how you define a scam. Some are straight up scams from the get go and just want to run off with your money whilst others just seem to be some project someone has halfheartedly dreamed up and hopes that people will just invest in it to get it off the ground. Most people who run ICOs will have absolutely no idea what they're doing and the project may just fail due to incompetence or inexperience, or once they have the money they spend it badly or just figure it's best to keep it without throwing it away on some shoddy idea that will probably just fail anyway. If most of theseICOs were legitimate businesses or ideas then they would likely just go the normal route to get funding or their ideas off the ground, but these days it's much easier to just quickly throw together an ICO and hope people bite.

Saw this study on twitter... https://twitter.com/Zeex_me/status/978981735101878272

I've seen a lot of people asking about how many legit ICOs there are, so I thought I'd share

Quote from the article: "The study begins by breaking down ICOs into 6 groups: Scam, Failed, Gone Dead, Dwindling, Promising, Successful. “On the basis of the above classification,” they wrote, “we found that approximately 81% of ICO’s were Scams, ~6% Failed, ~5% had Gone Dead, and ~8% went on to trade on a exchange.”

"Scams were defined by researchers as “Any project that expressed availability of [an] ICO investment (through a website publishing, ANN thread, or social media posting with a contribution address), did not have/had no intention of fulfilling project development duties with the funds, and/or was deemed by the community (message boards, website or other online information) to be a scam.”

DYOR people ...
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people selling below ICO price and the future of ico ? on: September 04, 2018, 06:46:15 PM
Why many people selling asap below ICO price when the token/coin listed on Exchange.
If they can sell below ico price why they buy it from ico ?!
when you buy coin/token from some ico, do you have trust in them ? i saw many ico listing below ico price.
Price = 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 ico price.
No one can take a profit except the ico owner. They have all ethereum and don't do anything ? not scam but don't do anything.
Where is the future of ico ?

People sell because they're cutting their losses and getting out whilst they can. 99% of ICOs are just pump and dumps to enrich either the creator or the very first investors and once everyone starts cashing out that obviously has a knock on effect and down goes the value. People really need to start understanding the norm of ICOs because 99% of them are the same and follow the same pattern. I wouldn't bother with the majority of them and just wait for the right one that actually offers something that you can get behind long term and those are the ones you should be trying to back, not just another pump and dump scheme.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever stop depending on fiat currency? on: September 04, 2018, 06:26:11 PM
I don't see that happening now,  unless there will be a physical coins of bitcoin. Most bitcoin transactions are done hand with hand with fiat currency. If I sell my bitcoin am expecting a payment in fiat currency as bitcoin is not yet world wide acceptable unless this happen, bitcoin will still depends on fiat currencies.

There are already physical coins of bitcoins, but not sure why we would need them to stop bitcoin being dependent on fiat. Bitcoin to me is the evolution of currency and going back to paper or physical coins is a step back because they're antiquated technology in terms of a monetary system. Even fiat currencies will almost certainly ditch paper and metal  eventually and go fully digital. Physical cash is already used less and less and plastic is becoming the norm but even that will likely be replaced by people just using their phone to pay with things.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency? on: September 04, 2018, 06:20:05 PM
I think the most deterministic factor keeping people away from entering crypto is the mentality and fear that its a scam combined with the belief that its just a passing trend.

I agree. Ignorance or at least naivety is probably the biggest factor that puts most people off. Many people seem to think it's too geeky or beyond their reach because it seems too technical for them, but it's really not at all. It may seem like that especially with a lot of the technical language and big words people use (decentralized and blockchain etc), but it's quite simple to use if you don't scare yourself off with all the buzzwords or by trying to look 'under the hood' to see hot it works behind the scenes which isn't needed for the average user. I think a lot of people are very weary of 'get rich quick' scams and they unfortunately lump bitcoin into that because of how it's often sold to them by fanatics which doesn't help. If you encounter someone who's skeptical of bitcoin or believes all the negativity just explain it to them in laymans terms and why you think its great and let them make up their own mind. We can't convince everyone to get on board but at least we can try fix some of the misconceptions about it.
160  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-04] Roger Ver and Jimmy Song to Debate Bitcoin on Blockchain Cruise on: September 04, 2018, 06:10:33 PM
I'm surprised Ver would go on something like this. Seems like these sorts of cruises would be a security risk to people who hold millions in cryptos. I'd imagine they'd be good places to rob or even abduct people. Or maybe I've just been watching too many heist films  Grin

With that being said, I think I'd quite like to go on one of these cruises if it was to a nice location, but it would have to have the right guests. I bet they're complete sausage fests though LOL.

Seconded.

I really wish we could get Ver to stop talking about Bitcoin once and for all. He shouldn't even be allowed to have bitcoin.com

Why don't you jump on the cruise and give him a piece of your mind?  Grin. I don't like Ver either but you've got to hand it to him for purchasing that domain when he did because it's worth a lot more than the one million he paid for it now. I'm sure he's made his money back from adverts and sponsorships already.
