Thats it.....I am bringing the big guns.  We need to break this block.

What we need is a solid company to manufacture and put out a super efficient miner lineup and give Bitmain a run for their money.  Competition is what will put them in their place.
Well that's easy, it exists already and is called Caanan Creative and they have a miner called the Avalon 6 that is just as efficient as the S7, is quieter and cooler, and costs basically the same.

Don't blame the manufacturers, blame the people that support them.  Competition exists, people vote with their wallets.

If you are looking for a quality miner that is faster and cheaper than the S7 who would you expect to be able to undercut a massive Chinese company?  That's about as low operating costs as you can come.

Totally agree and I just purchased an A6, but it is way easier to get an S7 than an A6. I also bought an A6 at a significant premium versus the S7 (with current coupon push).

I am all about voting with your wallet, but I made a decision that I would sacrifice ROI for principle and that isn't an option for large mining operations.

S7 is dogshit when it comes to reliability, and it consumes more power than they advertise.  Bitmain is complete shit, take it from someone who owns hundreds and hundreds of their machines.  Do yourself a favor and buy Avalon's.  Superior in every way.

Started mining yesterday.....haven't seen any payments yet.  that normal?

What was the first block hit by the pool after you started and what is your approximate hash level?

check your rewards page for the lowest block number there.

sounds potentially normal, this early on.

payout is done a little while after the block is matured.   at the moment, last confirmed payout is for block 404998.
if this block is on your rewards page, and the "your btc" column is > 0.0001, then it not normal.

if the lowest block listed there is higher than this or you are dust mining, then it is normal.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Stratum for Ethereum. Increase earning up to 20% compared to getwork. on: March 31, 2016, 02:12:23 PM
One proxy for all or you can run multiple if you want redundancy or different pools.
It can be on any computer/Pi on your network.
The proxy config file is already setup just add your wallet, pool info.
The workers run ethminer with the proxy address ie local 127.0.0.1:8080 or ip of the machine its running on ie 192.168.1.12:8080.
Start proxy first then rigs.  The proxy is started by $ python eth-proxy.py.
I had trouble understanding it but once you dig into the conf file its easy.
It works really slick and provides hashrate of your seperate workers.
Recommend the computer running the proxy to be a static ip.
Enjoy!

thank you so much for the explanation!

Sorry in advance for what is probably a really stupid question:

do I need to run the proxy on each local machine?  I have 4 attached to a network, and would think that just one proxy could handle them all.

How can I make that work?
154  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] - 50x+ SP10 on: March 16, 2016, 02:45:20 PM
Bump!  MAKE AN OFFER.   I want these out of my space!

Hey now.  We have not implemented a proxy at it DC.  If and when we do, I will absolutely pay the bounty.   My honesty in unquestioned around these here forums.

I don't think VirosaGITS cared much about the bounty anyways.

I reply to many thread that offer "Will give X bounty for Y solution". Then i give a solution and then a Caveat appear "Thanks for the solution but i'm not paying because i did not make use of that solution/I came up with something else".

Either that or they never reply in the thread, and i don't chase them down. I'd rather not argue over terms of a Bounty. It'd be nice to actually receive but i stay active on the forum for learning/keeping up nowadays.

Same thing I said before.....we haven't implemented any solution at this point.....been more focused on cooling for the rising temps of spring.  I assure you, if my site tech sets up the proxy server you recommended, I will pay the bounty without hesitation!

stay tuned.....

You are buying dead units?

Dead bodies? What? The heatsink, husk or the boards? I got some dead boards, i could sell one and the other with Sidehack's permission i guess.
If I understand all the things correctly than I need units with working controller and dead or better partially dead hashboards

to Notlisted and VirosaGITS

I do mean S5+ and chickens was about golden eggs they make))

I have a couple that have some bad boards that I will sell you.  How much are you offering?

consider selling individually?

I don't have 500 I want to spend but I would like to grab at least one.

Also, I'm still having buy issues trying to get freakin BTC, I can never get enough. Would you accept paypal from me? Either that  or squarecash would be good.

I would prefer you buy BTC, then use that.  Just too many issues with Ppal over the years.

Which card are you most interested in?

let me see what I can do as far as how much btc I can get right now... I've the money via square or pp right now, but for some reason coinbase won't up my instant limits because I didn't used to buy there, and circle closed by good account for whatever reason, so it's suddenly a pain for me to buy instantly -_- but yea...

The 280x, but I was thinking of offering 300 shipped for one 280x and 1 7970 or possibly 440 for all 3?

475 for all?  I would be willing to do a mix of BTC and Ppal
