141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 40% of coins have no broad usage? on: August 15, 2024, 11:30:36 PM
BNB, XRP, Solana, and Toncoin are in the top 10 based on market cap. However, it seems that tiny numbers actually accept or spend these coins, such as posting them in their donation links if they are a content creator. It seems like these coins represent a large fraction of the market but don't have even a fraction of their purported value of extremely small use cases. Is the value of these niche coins speculative or is it just market-propping?

Those coins that you mentioned looks solid in my opinion. So I don't understand why you say that tiny numbers are being used by people with this coins. You will have to look at the trading volumes and see for yourself that there are usage.

As for donations link by content creator, yeah, why not? I mean as I have said, they have use case and so it could be one of the cases, as means of payment. So you might have a wrong perception of those top 10 coins and you can used it whatever you want, store of value, means to accept payment and others. Definitely there could be element of speculation as most of the coins are even Bitcoin.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remittances on: August 15, 2024, 10:32:04 PM
This might be a little off-topic, but... is there any project in crypto that is suited for remittances? ( for example, Australia to the Philippines )
Bitcoin itself could be used for this, but lets not forget, if the recipient gets a fractional Bitcoin in his crypto wallet ( assuming he knows how to
use one of those ), he still needs to convert it to cash ( in this case, PHP pesos ) Doing this conversion will incur fees, and I use the plural
because there might be multiple fees involved if he's using a centralized exchange. The recipient likely also needs a bank account, and probably will
need to convert Bitcoin to Dollars and Dollars to PHP Pesos in the end.
So to me it all seems highly impractical if you're using Bitcoin or Ethereum. Is there any other option in crypto or are remittances still better
handled by Western Union ?

Have you tried the local exchange from the Philippines which is Coins.ph? So from Australia you can send your let's say Bitcoin to a account Coins.ph account from the Philippines and then the person can cash it out to PHP.

I think coins.ph also offered a lot of crypto as well, so you have other options not just Bitcoin. They have USDT as well which is very fast as compare to traditional banks or other remittances services.

The person who is going to received the money though will have to go to verifications from Coins.ph just like any other crypto. You can't remove fees though, so along the way you will really need to pay something, but it is just a fraction, if you used Bitcoin, right now it's just less than a dollar or like 20 PHP.
143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: People underestimate things what matters my opion about btc price on: August 15, 2024, 01:37:23 PM
I just noticed though that in the last couple of days, there seems to be some account that really trying to spread FUD and wanting to see the price going into <insert their lowest price here>.

And so I guess the OP is just one troll in the long lists of trolls that we have been in this community.

I haven't seen indicators or technical analysis that indicates the price going into $1000.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most used option for crypto passive income right now? on: August 15, 2024, 01:20:19 PM
Hey guys, The market is all acting up again. Probably because of US CPI data. And so bitcoin dropped to 59-57K again. Do ya'll think it'll go for 70k price target? Because I believe we won't be stuck on that price for so long.

Others mentioned that we are in the ghost month, so yeah, historically August doesn't like to be a good month for Bitcoin and the rest of crypto. And with that, I don't see the price getting into a $70k range, we need a lot of money to push the price to that level. And with so many negative news around, I doubt that investors are willing to pour their money in the market.

Anyways, I believe some folks are looking for some passive income right now. It's not an uncommon thing to do, we'd earn by staking, giving liquidity in a dex and etc. but what can be a really good passive income?

Well everyone has to look for other ways to make income, it could be that we have online business. But for crypto, I think it's staking is good, however, you should know that your money is trapped with this kind of staking for at least a year.

So I am assuming that many investors are holding USDT due to market uncertainty. I believe we can stake USDT at any good staking platform. Platforms like Bitget offer attractive rates of up to 18% APR, while Binance provides a more modest 1.91%, so y'all know what's best.

Staking though is not the same as before, initially the APR is very high, but due to the competition, and more exchanges offering it, the APR has really gone done. Although still very high as compare to banks so yeah, why not as long as you are willing to take that risk.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops and earning events can be a best way to maximize your crypto returns on: August 15, 2024, 12:55:48 PM
We've been buying the dip recently, but the market continues to decline. Crypto is very unpredictable, and the current market seems no different.

However, there are numerous airdrop opportunities and events for crypto users to earn rewards. Examples include Telegram DApp airdrops, testnet participation, and exchange events. I believe these events can be beneficial in various ways. And I expect some airdrops to become claimable before the 20th of this month. And I'm sure everyone knows that. Lol

So, It seems that participating in airdrops while buying the dip might be a more effective strategy than simply buying the dip alone.
Would also love to see if there are any recommendations for airdrops or earning opportunities to complement coin purchases.

Depends on the airdrop itself, although I don't know, I haven't been in any airdrop for the last couple of years but suddenly it wake up my curiosity as I joined one recently. But not sure how it will be though, but let's see if I made the right decision or not.

As for buying in the dip, yeah, that could really be the case for the majority of us. We have been thinking that we should be in the bull run, but so far the altcoin market is relatively quiet and the best thing to do with this kind of situation is to really go and buy at the dip and accumulate.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to avoid stress in a market crash on: August 15, 2024, 12:16:58 PM
I guess despite of those suggestions listed above, the fact that we are investing in such a volatile market, it's normal to be stressed at some point but as long as you can manage them and overcome those pressures, then there will be no problems at all. We are humans with sensitive emotions, and what we don't like to see will certainly stress us, but we all know emotions are hard to control, so learn to manage them on a positive way so that it will also create a positive scenario.

Yes, there will be a time that no matter what we do here, we will be stressed out and it's really hard to cope with it. We all know though that it's all mental, so you will really need to fight it out yourself and it takes time to master that self-control on how not to be affected negatively.

Let's say though that the market makes a huge correction, it might have help if we are going to focus and look at the bigger picture. If we see have that prediction that at the end of 2025, the price could be $100k+, it might calm our nerves because that is our long term goal. Focus on the gains itself and not the losses that we are going to suffer if the market crashes.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Find New Meme Coins: Strategies and Insights from the Community on: August 14, 2024, 10:58:25 PM
I wouldn't go around looking for ideas to try to predict the next meme coin boom. I think if you want to try to find one, invest in several of these types, since they come out of nowhere and go to nothing quickly. The ideal is to always invest in solid projects that have something behind them.

True. There are more random in memecoins than anything else, trying to predict something is even more pointless than with all other markets.

But aren't they at all worth exploring? People do post about the positives that they see in meme coins and how they can still be worth considering as part of a broader investment strategy.
I've also heard that meme coins often benefit from strong, enthusiastic communities that can drive their popularity. This community support can be a powerful force, sometimes turning seemingly obscure coins into major players in the market. Engaging with communities and following trends can provide insights into how to find meme coins early and potentially capitalize on their growth.

All can't be scam? yea?  Shocked

It could be worth exploring as you have said, but there are two sets of investors here,

a. those who invest on solid coins and stay away from meme coins because of the risk
b. those investors who are willing to take a big risk to invest on them

And with that, I think those who are answering here are mostly on the first category. Maybe they have been in the market too long enough to understand that meme coin is a big risk and they could have experience a huge lost.

My only advise is just be careful about those meme coins, it's just like gambling and you really don't know how it will end, as you might take a big lost, just saying.

So best of luck hunting them.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A New Crypto Trend for Telegram Users on: August 14, 2024, 10:36:47 PM
Tracing back to my experience in crypto mining, it's clear to say the trend has evolved dramatically over the years.

Crypto Enthusiasts are finding this as the latest innovation in this space - the integration of mining through gaming on Telegram. After the launch and success of NotCoin, more telegram minable projects are emerging from Hamster, Tapswap, and now the newest I've found Dogs.

For DOGS, which is open for all telegram users. It analyzes how long you've been using telegram App and rewards you with appropriate amount of DOGS tokens

Not sure where all this is leading to in the crypto revolution. Are these precursors for Bitcoin Bull run or one of those trends that sweeps the blockchain ecosystem

Yeah, at some point developers in crypto market will have to find a new way to make money or evolved, and so they go and turn to Telegram. Even crypto gaming platforms as well and Mixers have their version on Telegram too.

I wouldn't call this a pre-cursor, it's just the revolution of crypto, before we have ICO->IEO to whatever the latest is around 2020'ish with the P2E and Meta and now. It's just the way it is, evolving and now we have Telegram. Although I wouldn't be surprised that they were able to develop and move to Telegram as we have been using this platform for many years and it's just about time that someone take advantage of it.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it easy to teach crypto to beginners? How to? on: August 14, 2024, 12:49:28 PM
to become a professional investor must have a lot of knowledge or experience in business or trading, when someone takes action that will be done for the future, he will definitely think first before doing it and he will look for more information about the project he will follow so as not to fall into the wrong project. recently I posted about crypto on my social media account and many people asked me how to play crypto then they asked me to teach them how. can we teach them without having to meet? I think it's difficult! maybe friends here can share ways to solve the problems above.

It's not that easy though as you have to prepare a lot of materials for starters. And so you have to research what you want to tell them. Of course with the advent of technology, you can do face time or whatever the latest technology that we have. Remember that during the pandemic, everything is done in the internet so obviously, we have experience teaching people thru online.

So it's just the question on how deep your knowledge is as well to be able to partake it to people that are interested. Or in the contrary, if you don't want to face time them, then maybe send them reading materials and tell them to message you if they have any questions.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reliable ways to Earn yourself Tokens without Trading on: August 14, 2024, 11:59:49 AM
Yield farming is gaining popularity everywhere. So I decided to try it out. I guess I have learned a valuable lesson for trying. I discovered a risk many are not aware of, which is the reason they get disappointed with the reward amount they get out of it at the end of the farming duration. The fact is, if you don't invest a good amount of assets for sufficient liquidity, you can't get a good amount out as a reward.

I may have been driven by predictions that TON is one of the tokens that will rise in value in the shortest future given the support of its ecosystem by different Backers. That drive hasn't changed, instead I'm interested in your recommendations for some good Staking options to Stake and accumulate TON as reward.

It'll be great if you share an option you've tested and it's rewarding, not some referral hunt. Cheers!

Yeah, the way I see it, it's just Staking 2.0, or worst others call it Ponzi scheme. As for TON, I don't know why you still be jumping on it's hype as it is no longer the hottest crypto. And with that definition, sooner or later, the hype will be over and that's what happen to Yield farming.

And to be able to make a lot of profits, you really need to invest a lot of money as well. And for sure, there are average joe like us here who are not willing to take that risk to invest our hard earn money on them.

With that, if we have choices like buying strong Altcoins as compare to investing on Yield Farming? I would rather put my money on let's say Ethereum or BNB or ADA, just saying.

152  Other / Beginners & Help / Malicious crypto stealing Solana library in Python Package Index (PyPI) on: August 13, 2024, 10:14:07 AM
A cybersecurity group recently found out a rouge package on the Python Package Index (PyPI) repository that hides under the disguise as a library, but upon closer inspection, it's a malicious package and it's main goal: crypto stealer.

And it's uses the old method, trying, typo-squatting, but this time they are very clever as they put their package to like one version up of the original to look like they are the real and legitimate library and so it was downloaded 1000+ already.

And I know that there are a lot of developers here specially that Solana has been hot and there was a lot of hype around it, and so cyber criminals take advantage of it once again and there could have been victims already.

Recently , there was a big hack in Indian crypto exchange WazirX but the Bitcoin prices were not affected by it. So, do these exchange hacks have no impact on Bitcoin prices ?

Perhaps it was just local to India, or probably it happen during the week when there was all hype about Trump's specially on him going to talk on the Bitcoin conference that no one really care about the hacked.

And if others want to know what happen, you can read the blog here: https://wazirx.com/blog/wazirx-bounty-program/.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2024, 07:10:01 AM
I am presently watching Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Angelo Leo for the world IBF featherweight division championship. The champion is Lopez from Mexico and anyone who is watching this can be quite certain that if Inoue can increase his weight for this division, he can certainly win against Lopez hehehe.

I predict that next year, Inoue will leave super bantamweight and begin unifying the championships of featherweight with the last fight of the unification against Brandon Figueroa in Las Vegas heheheheheh.

Lopez has had some very good wins and was looking like the guy who would get the opportunity against Inoue. Unfortunately, he has always been careless with his defense and tonight he got knocked out cold. That payday against Inoue has vanished and that is perhaps why he was in tears in his locker room after the fight.

Same thoughts, Venado Lopez is good and he could give Inoue a great fight, however, that potential clash might be shelve as he was upset by Angelo Leo who I think is a great boxer as well but since this division is pretty much stacked up, he is just rated number 10 by the IBF and so he was given this fight and Lopez thought that it's going to be very easy for him.

Featherweight is a stacked division. There are around a dozen fighters who would all be considered credible opponents for Inoue. If he can become undisputed, it will elevate his legacy even further. It will not be an easy task because these fighters have size and power that he is not used to.

We will give Inoue his props even if he gets 2 belt in this weight class. Rey Vargas, Brandon Figueroa is going to be a nightmare fight for him as this two is very tall. And then others like Lopez, Leo and not that tall, but physically they are bigger than Inoue as this could be their natural weight class and they are very much comfortable at 126 lbs. And that's why what Pacquiao did, going up in weight won 8 divisions, skipping 2 divisions, (so there is a possibility than the can be 10 division champ) is hard to dupicate.

This could be KOTY and then the Ortiz vs Bohachuk FOTY in one card, that's crazy.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Basketball) Olympic Games Paris 2024 - Betting discussions on: August 08, 2024, 09:43:54 AM
I'll go with France +5.5 against Germany here at 1.85.
Great pick. They are at home, so they’ll likely play more inspired basketball in the semi-finals. However, in terms of maturity, I find Germany more composed, having won a championship together in the FIBA World Cup. That's why I trust them. I don't know if I'll be able to bet pregame; I think I'll just watch and wait for the line to drop or for Germany to become the underdog and that's when I'll place my bet on them.

The maturity comes from them playing for so long now that they know each other, and in basketball we call it chemistry. And as you have said, they won last year's FIBA and so they are in a hot streak and now that Canada has been eliminated, they could be the 2nd rank behind USA right now as far as the golds. But they will be against the home crowd so I expect that they will get a lot of boo's when someone touches the ball from them.

In the last game, France beat Canada, but that was due to their hot shooting. I don't think it will happen twice in a row.

And in their last game, France didn't play their twin towers, not sure what their coach is thinking, but it could be one of the surprises that why Canada was not able to adapt in the run and gun type of play of France and then their tough defense specially on Murray who had a very poor performance.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: August 08, 2024, 09:18:45 AM
Anthony Edwards is showing that he’s the best basketball player in the world right now. He’s got the 3rd least minutes played in the Olympics so far for Team USA and is leading the team in scoring while shooting 63% from the field and 54% from three point range. I think next year will be a breakout season for him where he’s discussed in the MVP race.

Isn't it what he said though before the start of the Olympics? That he will be their first option and we just have to laugh it out because we all know that there is Lebron and Steph and KD in the lineup so how  can he be the best offensive weapon?

So I guess ANT really wanted to be the next superstar isn't it, starting here in the Olympics and then when they got home, he will be the biggest superstar. Anyhow, it might be better if he can bring his team to the golds and then this season, becoming a NBA champion, that will be fitting for this young fellow.
It starts with his self-confidence because he truly believes he is the best NBA player right now. He demonstrated his skills and significantly helped Team USA win by dominating their opponents. Now, they are in the semi-finals against Serbia. I don't think we can expect much from Team Jokic, as they cannot dominate Team USA by playing a physical game. Team USA can match up well and could even outperform them. However, ANT has the freedom to do what he wants because his teammates are superstars, and their wins are by huge margins, so less pressure.

He is really full of self-confidence, but for sure in the Olympics, I think Lebron and other veterans have something to say on ANT. But yeah, I mean he is young and flamboyant and very athletic and in the first game against Serbia, he has that one steal against Jokic and you can see that Nikolai is frustrated as in the other end, ANT has a dunk.

Speaking of his NBA careeer, I think the talent is already there. What ANT needs to learn is to be more mature and have full confidence in carrying his team. If KAT gets traded, ANT would become the sole main go-to guy, which would surely make him better.

Last year was his break out run, and the team are still intact next season and so they wil go for sure for another run this October and then his full confidence might have spill to his team mates. So we will see how ANT will be, but I'm seeing him really improving and maybe we can insert his name in the discussion for the MVP this upcoming season as the leader of the Wolves.

159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dull moment in gambling on: August 02, 2024, 08:40:46 AM
I was browsing on casino last night to find a game to play after my long inactivity on casino action due personal reason. I realized that I just keep browsing but can’t find a game that interests me.

I’m not sure what’s wrong. I think I lost my motivation to gamble due to my long rest from gambling. Right now, I’m just playing demo mode to try games. FYI, I

Do you ever feel dull moment in gambling too?

Yeah, sometimes I will go online or even go with my friends in land base casinos, and then the moment I was there, I will suddenly be gun shy. I mean I don't know what games to bet or even thinking that I don't want to lose money.

And so I will just stay there, watch their games or watch other games. And when I feel that I have the guts to put money on let's say a slot machine or in a roulette, then that is the time that I will go and bet but it's not like that I really wanted to. So I'm also at lost at my emotions or mentality that time that when we go home, some of my friends have lost money already and they will ask me if I won, and I will jus say barely.

Perhaps at one point in a gambler, there will be times that you will question yourself and like having a dull moment in gambling.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surge in the last 24hrs on: August 02, 2024, 08:12:47 AM
Bitcoin has suddenly springed in the last couple of hours breaking the 65,000$ Mark. This was observed to happen immediately after the attack on Donald trump, the Presidential candidate of the United States of America.
Without drawing much attention, could it be because he is fully in support of cryptocurrency?. I would like to hear others opinions.

There are times when we will be shocked again with reality that is not in accordance with the price predictions that have been taken because of an action taken by someone who has an influence.
I support Donald Trump's ideas related to Bitcoin and because of Donald Trump's campaign, the Bitcoin price market has good support in terms of price. Hopefully what he says is not just political nonsense.
Do not 100% believe in the factors that have the effect because we could just one day the thing that was thought did not happen.

He could be the one that might push this Bitcoin rally to $100k or higher this year and to the next year. But not going to be easy and there could be a lot of surprises a long the way. The Trump campaign will take months, election is on November, so there could be news that will push the price again or market just really going up because of the economics of Bitcoin, law of supply and demand.

So again, we should be really going long or look at the bigger picture. Currently after peaking at $70k during Trump's speech, the price decline again to $64k. So there are still people who sells and try to make profits instead of HODLing so we can't blame them for that. But at least we should stay in the market and I'm expecting that we might see $80k-$85k at the end of the year and for sure others too have this prediction in hand.
