Like you, I’ll like to see him perform against Liverpool but for Nunez, I don’t have him on my team though, he wouldn’t have been a bad asset but, the DG isn’t one that comes with much promises with Nunez as, his widely known to perform just above average in a game and can’t even average others.

Shush now about king Nunez. I wouldn't have him in my team if I played real football, but would love to have him in a 5v5. Just the way he smashes at every ball without thinking, I sort of miss that. I'll lose him from FPL once I've figured out my midfield. Slowly been clearing using the one free transfer a week. Maybe as soon as he hits his hattrick (he's due one, isn't he? haha).

Nobody is taking about Buwaytress he's been low-key building from the back and now in second position from 4th position.
Buwaytress is waiting for the day to be the champion and mock all of us. I was waiting for much better returns from my Liverpool players this week however I couldn't become successful about this.
[/quote]

Nah, I used my bench boost chip, so I was always going to score the most points -- but I did luck out on settling for Raya as DGW keeper. 16 points I think is a really good return for a keeper. I actually have Everton's custodian on my bench and also lucked out with 3 VAR interventions for a rare Everton clean sheet. Don't expect much tonight but if Liverpool blank, then he offers me some consolation.

I think anyone looking at my team sheet this GW would be shaking their head. Backing Liverpool to the hilt but also having Everton there? In defence? Hedges don't mean much in FPL do they? Crazy first 5 minutes at Goodison already... #Idontknowwhatimdoing

CLS63 just reminded me this pool isn't even half done. Definitely one thing to look forward to during the off season once May is done and dusted for football. Who knows, I'll actually start paying attention to F1.

More silly sprint races coming I hear?

I think the twin cities are forever, but maybe im wrong. Anyways always make me laught that thing of "twin cities" becuase i always read that and think to myself " and this what give us ? "

I used to feel "proud" my little shitty town was twinned in some place I'd never visit. I'm not sure I'm any wiser these days Wink

Im doing like a piece of shit in the pool, but well we all know we only play for the fun right?  Wink

You mean it's not serious? Why did I put in some mbtc here?! Haha.

^ Well, that went to hell quite decisively. Was very close to putting money on Saints but it wouldn't have mattered as I'd have paired it with an equally unimpressive Chelsea.

A bit of a pity, really, as even a draw would have painted a pretty table at the top, but as it stands, Leicester is back in the driving seat. One win away from confirming promotion, think they'll just about cross over the line for 100 points.

Southampton also now is virtually confirmed for the playoffs -- they would need Ipswich and Leeds to lose all remaining games by huge margins, while winning theirs with equally huge margins. Best to just rest their players and prep for the playoffs. Not sure their players survive this crushing defeat mentally unscathed...

Thiem actually hasn't qualified yet, he still has one more qualifying game to win in order to make it to the main draw, and his next match is against a better ranked player Kokkinakis (no. 93).

The draws aren't random by any stretch they happen according to rankings or seeds for the tour, even for the qualifiers they do have seeds for it as well. So whoever wins the last seeds position from the qualifiers by default gets to play the 1st seed for the tournament. For ATP 1000 events like the Madrid open most are usually a 64 man tournament with the top 8 seeded getting a bye for the first round (some have expanded to 96 players, meaning more bye for more players in the first round, e.g Indian Wells Open), meaning there are supposedly 58 players in total, the seeded 32 players are default by their atp rankings for those who are eligible for the tour, so the remaining 26 slots are battled for in the tournament qualifiers, in some cases it could be fewer, if the tournament features Wild Cards (WC) or players with protected ranking (PR), the latter as the case with Nadal currently is. Nadal are surely going at loggerheads again, provided Nadal wins his first game  Grin

Thank you for the detail. I know I could look it up myself but it's nicer to get someone who knows explain it. I did watch a lot of tennis when I was younger, but never really got into the details of competitions.

I got lost with ranking system already recently, and can't be bothered to catch up. I knew seeds were important (and ranking) but I thought this was only for the protection of top seeds. I always thought qualifiers anyway were randomly drawn. So now I understand this is not like a football group draw. Got it.

Oh yeah and Thiem didn't make it. Goodbye.

You can't keep a good man down. And you can't keep a bad gambler away. It's my worst season by far, and while common wisdom says to quit while not so far behind, we might as well continue in the fashion of the thread. Plus, hey, good value is good value, no? And I really like tonight's selection with Team Palmer hopefully getting the better of Team Saka?

Chelsea, better make my day/night worthwhile as I'm watching you. Torn about wanting Arsenal to drop points so Liverpool have a better sniff at the finish line... because if we don't, then it's another title to City. Can't bear either, but maybe less unhappy if Arsenal wins.

Deduction derby, relegation derby, Everton finally came up on top with some good goals and a clean sheet. Not the player I preferred to see scoring but they won't care.

It probably shouldn't have bee a clean sheet though. A lot of controversy around VAR as Forest should have probably had three penalties that weren't given and two of them were handballs.

Didn't realise that until later actually, read the reports myself and they do have a point. The VAR official also having questionable alliances? Not  good look for VAR or for the FA. But they have been mucking around with egg on their face all season really.

I had no idea what I saw in Salah; he's been nothing but a headache since I got him; he's my captain, and he just dropped a stinker; I can only hope he returns with a brace against Everton's awful defence.

Nobody is taking about Buwaytress he's been low-key building from the back and now in second position from 4th position.

It's just taking a while for Salah to understand his role with whichever striker is partnered up there, and he's not getting enough minutes or consistency I think. He is playing all right, just he and Nunez are my vice and captains and didn't get enough minutes... Salah's low cross to Nunez should have been a goal usually Nunez just throws himself at it but this time he weirdly lost pace.

And shush, no one needs to know about my mini-renaissance, hoping the Everton game makes up for the 3 Liverpool piddling returns. My captaincy on Nunez is killing me but... I will persevere for now.

BTW - 10 Rags is not going to drop Bruno even if he loses his legs. I mean look at Rashford right now. He's playing like dogshit this season and he still starts every game.

How am I hearing these names only on the forum haha. Rashie is like that little nonce at school the teacher refuses to punish just because he did one cute project that got him a medal.

Yesus my goal difference. Consolation? I'm in tenth, so don't need to qualify for cup. Small blessings or just filler for the meatgrinder? I can actually believe how shit I am this season though.

As I wait to see who between yassinmanai and Renato297 I'll be meeting in the first round, welcome Flokiii!

Thiem almost not making it past qualifiers... going to double down on de Minaur, he gets to meet Nadal yet again. Question (truly want to learn), do the early draws happen very randomly or are seedings heavily determinant in the draw? Just wondering what the chances really were on a de Minaur v Nadal rematch.

Bastards left and right, well done, you slimy slickers cryptofrka and Slissy. Hammie in 2nd place is a big chance, so at least you deserve yellow cap. I didn't do too badly, off the pace of the leaders as usual but any day I get 2 correct positions sans Verstappen I consider a good job.

Oh and who's BlockchainWizard?

I cant see so much of the GP because of my time zone, im on the opposite pole from China. Well is better to say im in the antipodal point of CHina, i dont know if anyone know that but China and Argentina are in the antipodal of each one. Only a funfact.   Cheesy

If I recall, my small town used to twin with some rural town in South America just below the equator for the same reason. Don't know if towns/cities still twin, but we also have my city named weirdly in Canada, but for all different unknown reasons.

Sorry for the OT =)

Think part of the problem (I don't like using that word but) is that the guys behind them are the same type of people behind BRC20s. A sprinkling of original Bitcoiners who have just enough technical knowledge to build the products, as well as wealth lying around to create and maintain their own market for months, if not years.

I really thought the BRC20 hype would die quicker than it has but it's still hovering. So people think the market cap staying high is an indication that it's sustainable but that's really just the creation of new tokens to prop up cap. Runes are the next iteration.

It's the bull run, I guess. We just got to live with the hype cycle every few years. Who was it who repeated that phrase I like about freedom? It ending where others' begins.

Those didn't work, Chelsea did stand a fair chance but City as usual found a way, or do we say Chelsea found a way to lose?

El Clasico and it's down to the end of the season. Real have a hand on the trophy, but can Barca throw an early spanner in the works or place Real's other hand on the trophy?

Spurs have Arsenal and Chelsea in their DGW, Chelsea's got Villa and Spurs. I'll be happy to skip them all, I went for this week's doubles (Liverpool and Arsenal).
Long-term Spurs have a horrible schedule, LFC does not. IMO you need Chelsea players in GW36, and City and Newcastle players as soon as possible.

My non-expert opinion leans here for Spurs and Chelsea -- I didn't throw out any players I already did have -- oh wait, no Spurs players, so it's just Palmer on my team, so not sure I'd do anything different.

Liverpool and Arsenal I already packed up anyway but I actually did the dumb switcheroo and also packed Everton players but, left 2 on the bench (Pickford + Branthwaite). They're already 12 points together, and will probably score 0 in the Merseyside derby, so I'm happy anyway and if Liverpool somehow fail, I get some consolation points.

My Raya already has a nice 10 points so I don't mind if Chelsea win narrow.

Deduction derby, relegation derby, Everton finally came up on top with some good goals and a clean sheet. Not the player I preferred to see scoring but they won't care.

I would say this just about earns them a bit of breathing room, and if they get their 34th match as a win, I daresay they need only one more win after.

I don't really give a damn about this group anymore—age is never an excuse. Lampard, Hazard, Terry, and Drogba were all responsible men by the age of 21. Our team has an average age of 23 and is still incapable of taking responsibilities. Everyone is acting like children. I hate this 2000s kids man!! I don't enjoy football anymore.

Snowflakes, eh? I get they have to plug their ears with music 24/7, I get they have to do Tiktard, I get it all, it's a generational thing. We were idiots when young too, but you're right, they seem to have shirked on responsibility. No one cares what silly thing you do in your generation if you answer and stand up to be counted.

Ah, I get it. I thought that you were writing about the whole round. I thought I was going crazy Grin Anyway, if I manage to turn this around, it will be my biggest comeback in the entire competition Smiley I need Real to win with over 3,5 goals in total and London marathon record not to be broken.

London men's just finished. 3 whole minutes below the current record, so we both got what we wanted. I felt this was a 50/50 -- records in marathon fall all the time as elite runners get better and better, women's set a new one today, but I thought that it needed a gap year. Guessed right.

I do need Barca to not lose tonight though!
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: April 20, 2024, 08:52:16 PM
If somebody else was running the competition, I'd be calling them scammers now Grin
I was sure I picked 7th and 8th teams from NBA to go through, I even openly discussed that nothing else made sense. Not sure how I ended with Bulls instead of Heat in the spreadsheet then.

I remember you commenting on my post about simply picking upper bracket style, so yeah, surprised your picks were Heat -- that precious play will earn me a fighting chance for this round. City didn't get the second goalscorer I needed, I knew Chelsea would make it tough, still wish they won since 1-0 City win means I didn't get BSFL right nor did my Chelsea bet win, so I still need London marathon to NOT have a new record and Barca to overcome Real in El Clasico.

On any other day, I'd like my chances but I have a feeling mitchr4 is the one happier with things as Real are the favourite after all.

I would say I'd be really happy with a draw...

Speaking of Chelski, Vitesse in Eredivisie just got relegated with an 18 pt penalty. Used to be Chelsea playground club but apparently Abramovich still putting in millions in Vitesse.

They haven't been getting any kids from us since the sanction and the takeover as we're the ones keeping these kids now. We're more like Vitsese now. I don't care what they did but 19 points deduction on a middle of the season is crazy, the players must be feeling really down for effort waisted all season.

Chelsea don't deserve Jackson - he's the most toothless striker in Europe. Sames old story about this group of players; miss tons of chances and lose at the end. I can't even blame Poch on this one. Lol I just looked at the spreadsheet....Danm it!!!

I agree. I really feel that these penalties happening in the middle of seasons punish fans and players the most. Owners pay a fine, no problem, they just drink a few spirits and they get on with life but the careers of players and hardworking fans who pay season tickets? Football is getting really hard to stomach it's not funny.

Damn Chelsea indeed. I make money from them every now and then but then when I actually feel confident in them (and they looked better than City at first), they cheekily rugpull my bets.

Have to say, the past couple of seasons my betting is disastrous. Back of my mind, I'm saying it's my lack of focus but front of my mind is reminding me I've always been shit and this is a reminder of that.

I'm glad you were able to capitalize on Arsenal's defeat, if you weren't biased towards Liverpool then perhaps a multi-bet on the defeat of these two teams would have turned things around this season  Cheesy I don’t understand this ridiculous odds for Liverpool qualifying. I wouldn't look in this direction even if it was 15.00.
Indeed, it would have been a 130/1++ acca, and ordinarily, the Villa one was never a problem for me, but Liverpool's curse is no matter how bad they are, I just can't bring myself to bet against them. I'd advise it to anyone though, 10/1 versus Liverpool, you could even cash out when Liverpool concede first haha.

The odds were shameful, agree. At least I remember, for Liverpool to qualify against Barca all those years ago was 20/1.

Anyway, today is another weird slightly below value odds for Arsenal to lose, only because it's away I guess. And then FA Cup's Chelsea have Cole Palmer vs tired/injured Haaland. Still, I will take both.

City's winning the league, don't let their Champs League exit fool anyone, Arsenal and Liverpool can't possibly win all their six remaining games. I'm saying this while hoping for a different song from a different fat lady, but it doesn't hurt to stare down the well of things you can't change.

There is one dynamic though; by the time City return to league action, both Liverpool and Arsenal would have played two matches, and could be 4 points above City both. Shouldn't matter, but you never know what that kind of pressure does to a team who's just lost to City -- and if they lose to Chelsea as well?

Igebotz, stop trolling with Chelsea's team age haha. You can be 25 and have very little senior experience at the top, or 19 and have many seasons in elite football. It's not just about the age but the years in senior football. That said, Chelsea should have a team that can excel for an entire decade, so let's hope they play better footie next season. Start with Citeh tonight!

NBA turned out to be exactly good, predicted as if this were Dream League upper bracket. No idea about teams, and hit all four. Must flex like this more often but t won't matter if Chelski lose later as I got a bet on them, hedged by bsfl of course.

Speaking of Chelski, Vitesse in Eredivisie just got relegated with an 18 pt penalty. Used to be Chelsea playground club but apparently Abramovich still putting in millions in Vitesse.

Poor Girona, is all I can say. Even Athletic has been having more headlines, Inaki still a bit drunk from the Gabarra spirits, scoring a goal for the away side before his team equalised (I didn't watch, just doing blind commentary haha).

Still think they should feel proud of themselves though, they still just need to win 4 of the last 6 games to ensure they are in Champions League (not sure actually how it affects City but it shouldn't, should it?) or is there some drama left for Athletic to steal a spot if Girona freefalls?
