Don't mind saying I've been on a great run of freebet luck, last weekend took home 3mbtc from NFL prediction and then $40 from BSFL. Spoilt for choice but sharing one of my bets. You can count on the sharing more if/when I hit some Wink

Wales aren't crap but counting on some away distractions.

@notblox1: Sad to see you didn't get your win yesterday, Armenia were almost there.
It was crazy!
They had to hold only few more minutes to win, but I think even a draw away from home is good for Armenia.
Today I had the same thing happening with Switzerland, they had the lead but they conceded goal in stoppage time  Cry
But I think even bigger surprise for today was Italy draw against North Macedonia.

Yeah, I'm not having any good wins so far, but I took today's 14/1 special on Lithuania to score first and over 3.5 goals. Yes, yes, I know it's throwing my money away because it's hard enough to ask Portugal to concede first, harder to ask both teams to score 4 goals!

Hey everyone! Thank you to all who've paid. Just busy finalising sponsor, and tweaking the odds-based event form with the expert hand of joker_josue. I'll try and give a quick response to some qs:

@notblox1 deadline, preferably, is 18 September, a week from now. However, I've already been asked if late payment is possible, and I'm going to say yes, on case by case. We don't want a situation where people "test" their performance and decide not to pay when they don't do well. Generally, if you've got an account in good standing, I'll accept late payment. Let's say no later than 2 October (Matchday 2). Anyone who commits but doesn't pay will take a hit to their reputation. =D

@slaman29 Last season we had 34 participants. ATM, we have 25 confirmed participants and 2 tentative. Feel free to spread the word!

@1miau For now, it doesn't look like we'll get yellow cap bonuses, but there will be other promotions, hopefully. Will be sure to update the details of that.

Nothing left for me to warch for except the issue of the freebet, but for once I can enjoy the remainder of this round with gnashing of teeth. Let's make it a good fight, CLS63!

@slam leea's not won yet. mv is hot on his heels with a win!

If I don't win that point, buwaytress and me will be tied for the last rounds freebet again. I don't remember what is the second rule to settle the freebets. I checked the first page but I can't seem to find this new rules for settling the freebets.

It was discussed and now freebet tiebreak is decided by the person who submitted first. In this round, that's you, so if we really do end up on a draw, well done to you, double whammy for me =) I like this, we always wanted to see more advantage for early submissions, and I think it's a great outcome =)
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 10, 2023, 03:27:03 PM
@buwaytress referred me to the thread so to join in the pool if I wished too, and if my bets come in green then I will certainly put in my fee payment in for the pool

Saw your reply and welcome to the pool! I'll post an update there a little later in the evening or tomorrow morning. I hope it's something everyone will like. Meanwhile, I've been absent from specials too, for some reason slipped my mind to check them out.

This one is right up my alley though, even though I know Portugal are goal shy...

Indeed, indeed, I have finally Arsenal'd myself and lost the top spot to Manchester CLS63ity. No hard feelings, it was won fair and square. It completely figures that Coco gets her stage and sucks in all that glory. WD!

Congratulations to everyone who's already won the round too, I don't believe this is a normal round at all. So many 0-0 ties after mid-week, then winners decided before Sunday.

Bad boy Ige's going nowhere. Even if he drops, it'll be a Bielsa tactic to work on some ultra secret experiment without the media spotlight... but if Trofo writes about him again, just make sure he doesn't catch you on the stands or it'll be a modern Spygate scandal.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: September 09, 2023, 04:03:16 PM
Rando news flashing past me reminds that even Hammie thinks Max has a "weak" teammate (compared to his earlier seasons).

I think there is just perception bias here. Neither Max nor Perez is quite as noisy as others have been in the past and now with amplified media, the difference becomes starker. And then a subdued presence is associated with weaker performance. Rubbish.

Wait what?  I don't see any thread or announcement about any UCL pool.  That's the only football pool I wanna join this year.  Tourney format, midweek matches and the best clubs all over Europe.  Wink  Where do I sign up?

Right?! I sent you an invite earlier actually, but I'll send it again!

@notblox1: Sad to see you didn't get your win yesterday, Armenia were almost there. I've got a hopeless 17/1 bet on Azer today and as expected they have their backs against the wall with 35% possession and conceding 5 corners, owning all the fouls and down a goal. On the bright side, odds dropped every 10 minutes (to 12/1), and up until the goal, they had the game's 3/3 shots on target, so who knows?

@CLS63: I like when they don't get results like this, then books put their odds up against n inferior team next time. Gotta keep betting on good teams with bad form in internationals =D
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +90170 units on: September 09, 2023, 01:28:58 PM
I came home late but the match is still 0-0, you bet now you get OK odds heh heh. But here's my outlier of the day. A decent Azerbaijan against a weakened Belgium side, I think the odds are underestimating the home side.

100 units at Sportsbet on Azerbaijan to WIN vs Belgium @16.95. Odds then: 16.00
Units advantage: +95
Bet ID: 64fb67bf4969d00001691c03

Running advantage after 8 bets: +720 (+95)
All-time cumulative: +90,770
Running units after 7 bets (0W|7L): -700 (-100)

Most of us getting absolutely murdered this week. I have a grand total of zero points, as does casperBGD -- what's unique is that we actually had different answers on 3/4 duds, yet still both managed to avoid the right answer. Either picked the right outcome but missed the btts/over/unders, or just wide off the mark.

In another weird twist, all our remaining answers save tennis are the same, so it's going to be a draw only if Sabalenka wins in straight sets!

-snip

I thought that either of this team would go easy on the first game but it turned out to be a bloody game with cards I guess.

I thought this as well, it is first round and there is much to play, but mentality is mentality and turned into bloodbath

buwaytress, we had three different questions last night, but no points for anyone, so we have one question left, Gauff or Sabalenka, or draw if Sabalenka wins 2:0
interesting round, but I am not feeling good regarding tennis question outcome, home turf or not, Sabalenka is a bit of favourite

Edit: what's more the moment I clicked Post, you had the exact same thoughts!

Canada served me well last week, kinda wanted them to go through but I'm equally pleased to see the final happen like this.

Serbia is at +13 on HT, good thing that we both have Canada, so I can cheer for my countrymen's without thinking about points

Looks like Germany repeated the trick. I didn't check odds but I'm sure both finalists were underdogs -- like you said, I'm relaxed on these games, where we aren't hoping for any outcomes.

Fernandes kicked off scoring finally. Seems really tight with few chances. You need 1 more, I need 2 =)
1132  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: September 08, 2023, 06:31:49 PM
I am expecting few surprises in this rounds of Euro Qualification, maybe one of the big favorites will lose of draw a match.
Following good examples of buwaytress I am going to try and catch big underdogs, and I think we are going to see lot of yellow and red cards in Turkey vs Armenia match.
Turkey is big favorite to win but there is always a lot of tension when they play against Armenia.

I'm definitely in agreement here and I happen to like taking bets on teams from the Caucasus and Central Asia so this time I've got something riding on Azerbaijan instead. Georgia normally makes my cut but I skipped them as Spain's too strong. Feel the same way about Belgium really, too strong for Azer but why the hell not?

Turkey-Armenia is always, always a sizzler with the fans...

I see the leaderboard has finally shifted at the top, great job all you chasers as we approach the final quarter of the season. I'm still maintaining my position in 8th, just hope I'm more of a Piastri climbing up or even Leclerc, and not ending up like a Yuki and going out when the going gets tough haha. I had some people over at my place (Dutch) and while they're pleased with Max, they all seem to really like the way Tsunoda rubs off on them. Not sure if it's the same reason I liked him from last season (I have an underdog bias though).

Concur though that "best driver" is an argument that's as futile as GOAT drivel in football/sports/etc. I enjoy athletes, I love them all.

tokeweed man why isn't your ass in UCL pool?
1134  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 1miau special deal on: September 08, 2023, 01:14:45 PM
I confirm agreement!

I don't know how much details we can share, but I'll leave that to 1miau's wisdom. Personally, I think it's a really niche endeavour, but completely aligned with the type of risk I'm comfortable with.

I've sent my details over, here's to our success!

So is this address bc1q3rrxzuknzfvlclprprjshqruvjhp5tettcthea still valid?

Yes! It's the same as last year! Do you have VPN issues for Superbru?

Pool is now open to accept fees. I'll finalise sponsorship details this weekend.

Address is the same and updated in OP [bc1q3rrxzuknzfvlclprprjshqruvjhp5tettcthea]. Once you've paid 2mbtc, pls PM me with your TX details and Superbru username Smiley

As of now, we have 22 confirmed and 1 tentative participants. Feel free to invite people you know. The more we have, the bigger the sponsor incentive to sweeten the pot.
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When are we going to see the mempool empty again and 1sat/b confirmations? on: September 08, 2023, 11:45:44 AM
1 sat after the bull run, so that's 2025 Wink I don't have much reasoning to contribute to this. Other than the memory of 2017/18 and how crazy things were for the longest time.

Ordinals is dying... if volume and market cap suggest otherwise, it's only because of the sheer number of new entrants, propping up marketcap with hyped interest. The original tokens have never recaptured their May highs so it's just a wave that needs riding out. If BAYC took 2+ years to finally deflate, then that's 18 more months for ordinals to see out their death knell.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: * | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: September 08, 2023, 08:34:02 AM
@Trofo Agree, and I'm in no position to judge a sponsor on merits, if they have no outstanding reputational issues, money in escrow is good enough.

I've reached out to joker_josue, whom I hope also joins us again.

@slaman29 @Harkorede I thought to keep it simple with 1x2 -- as you note, we can expand "markets" but the point is not to turn this into an Excel book, but to try a new system that rewards risk in predictions. At the time being, I'm calculating points manually so it will be as Trofo observes exponentially more work for every new market. If we're successful with automation, then maybe. But we also don't want to overcomplicate. We'll keep the feedback and see if we can implement later!

@BitcoinGirl.Club I'll make submission section more distinct, thanks for the feedback. That's the whole point of the trial Wink Test as often as you want. Actual sheet will not be visible until form is locked Smiley

@bullrun2020bro I agree every new pool takes time, so I won't hold it against you if you don't join. However, I believe that there is demand for something different, something more challenging, less passive, and less random. This demand is not only from players but is also appealing to sponsors, who might prefer a thread that has more challenging interactions (therefore, higher quality exposure by brand association). In other words, if we want big prizes every season, with big sponsorships, we need to ensure we return value. I really hope you join. I believe even focusing on the classic pool (half the prize pot) is worth the fee. I'll work on unambiguous tiebreakers, great comment!

Superbru leaders are there generally by luck (you can predict the right outcome but get from 1 to 3 points depending on score). An odds-based system rewards risk, if you get more points, you did that not only by getting the right outcome, but by taking riskier picks. We also have to consider

1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: September 08, 2023, 06:56:05 AM
Looks like Coco's exceeded expectations and got to her first US Open final. I guess this is a rare WTA final where top 3 seeds are in. Sabalenka dropped the set I needed her to (0-6 on the get go is NOT how I foresaw that though!) so this is finely poised. Coco wins and casper you get the point. Sabalenka needs to win 2:1 for me to get the point.

Coco fell to Swiatek last year... but she's on home turf and a year older now. Tough!

I feel very much like an asshole for not backing Shelton despite already saying it multiple times which is really weird af of me, I would have gone with him, I knew him defeating Tommy Paul was never a fluke, he was in great zone and shape mentally right now, and I would backed Tommy Paul against definitely. I really just didn't have the balls despite my concern for the overly clumsy Tiafoe.

I actually was thinking to comment on that yesterday and forgot. But I get it. I'll always bet money against Chelsea, United, in their games but I can't quite get to commit the same when it comes to H2H picks like in the pool or BSFL. You know almost for sure your opponent goes for the favourite and you win equal points for the underdog. Better to go for the same pick, and get a draw.

I think not as usual when I am somewhere with you  Huh #BadLuckCharm

1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 07, 2023, 08:36:17 PM
You do know that even investment and trading options banks have on their apps are just different forms of gambling right? In fact, many financial activities involve you betting on an outcome. Even insurance is a bet against outcomes, if you think about it!

That said, agreed. I love a bet, but those have no place on a banking app. You're using what they call a superapp (app that does everything). Popularised in Southeast and East Asia, extremely slow in coming to Europe. I'm a fan of those apps, very convenient. Use them to death in Asia for everything. No betting though, but African superapps pushing the limits Wink

@logfiles why Haaland no captain? A waste!
I actually thought he's going to blank more often because of the Kevin De Bruyne injury, but it looks like he is starting to do well with the Like of Foden. Not having him in my squad earlier on paid off only once (game week 2)  Grin

Pointless to have him and not captain, like Trofo said, he's the only sure way to compete for top places!

But you're right... I also think Salah will be on a roll this season.
Also - a big part of my decision to go without Haaland is the freebets for the round winner. Whenever Salah outscores Haaland, I'll be a big step ahead of you guys in that game round.

Same reason I didn't Haaland up! I'm poor at FPL but I'm gunning for an outlier week where my picks smash everyone. Nunez-Salah combo? Salah's entering my squad at some point, I'm still moving budgets around a restructure. Probably sacrificing Mac Allister (easy choice).

It's all about timing. I had Darwin for the first 2 weeks, rage transferred him out after GW2 when he was subbed for 4 minutes and then the next game he scores a clutch brace. And then nearly every other midfielder I got out with my wildcard got an assist. Now we have players like Watkins, Nketiah, Wissa and even March who are hung dry. And Chilwell has blanked since GW2 as in, no goals or assists. Again, timing is key.

I played the timing game last season to disastrous effect. I'm being much more patient now. Darwin will pay off, right? Right???
