@buwaytress
Just paid for the pool. Here is tx id: 1db8957f79b7345a6604407587bfe45940547a7b661214c5424026c47c84db12

Champions League was for years my golden goose when betting and then I totally got dumpstered in last 2 seasons both on bookies and in our pools. Hopefully this season will be a comeback season and I will be competitive Smiley

Thanks! You and some others here I would never worry about paying, when it comes time to chase on Sunday I even know mentally who not to ask Wink

Oh and about performance? You're yesterday's news. It gets worse every year with old age, trust me =p

In the event of a tie at the end, how will the tiebreaker be done?

A question for the 40 participants: Do you think it would be too complicated, instead of indicating your username, to indicate your user id when filling out the form?

Tiebreakers are explained in OP. Pot A is Superbru's tallying. Pot B is person with most points won in single match. I'll try and think of a final tiebreaker in Pot B.

I don't mind forum ID but I suspect most might find it hard...

Yep  Cheesy I came in because buwaytress sent me another reminder to join the pool on Superbru (thanks to him) and I decided to clarify the forecasting rules for the second part of the poll, but here everything was drowned in discussions.

OP has the explanations, is there anything in particular you want to ask about?

I definitely noticed jayce and IIRC he wasn't a contender before.

I'm old so my memory doesn't really extend far beyond current season (but yeah it's KTC who sticks to mind a lot). Pools are luck, we generally agree. But for some able to maintain and even widen gaps, that truly is collective balls to go for unexpected scorelines.

but I mostly blame the problems with the VPN for making it hard for me to read the analytics.

It's really important you get VPNs that have servers near you, especially on TOR. I had VPN problems until moving west...
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: September 14, 2023, 08:07:59 PM
The prize for 1st place is really very good. I'm sure that the prize would be much more valuable at the end of the season by increase in Bitcoin price. I'm very happy for sharing the yellow cap with Leea-1334 this week. Even though it is just the 4th round of the season I got my first yellow cap. I hope this is a sign of a beautiful season for me.

Eh, leea is first in  lot of places in my mind, and he keeps all his wisdom to himself. Milan derby's got to be the most interesting thing and the best part for me is they aren't even really the same teams at first impression.

Did you manage to make anything out of the yellow cap prize, dear BSFL Div1 title contender? Wink
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: September 14, 2023, 04:22:22 PM
~
Next week Bayern vs. Bayer Leverkusen will be interesting.
After what we've seen so far from Leverkusen it might be a competitive game.

This will be an interesting game, but I’m more interested in the bookmakers’ quotes - they give 1.64 for Bayern to win. Am I the only one who thinks there is some value here? The only argument in favor of the generosity of this bet I see is that the game will be after international games and because of this the randomness will, as always, be above average. Under normal circumstances, I'm sure Bayern should beat Bayer at home even with a -1 handicap.

You're not. In fact, their status as favourites have only gotten stronger over the week, pushing Leverkusen's odds to above 5/1 (with some help from a price boost). That's where my money's gone. I definitely believe in the restart factor of international breaks (so worry now if it's time to back Mainz). Form disruption works both ways, yeah?

Thanks cygan too for the ping. Champions League pool not your thing? Wink
1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: September 14, 2023, 03:21:48 PM
Hey all, a bit confusing for me to come back and read an entire page of off-topic. I understand the discussions, I think suffice to say we will never be on the same page with trust, but my interest in this pool is purely the protection of players. I have all the funds in escrow -- it is only I that you need to worry about for all practical purposes Wink

TY Hhampuz for the freerolling. I'll register the players you mention. I'll refund Bitcoingirl.Club (and consider his fee as mine paid) -- no harm done, I've known you since Pamoldar days, maybe you don't recall our past interactions, but I wish you luck! Pls PM me with an address =) Edit: I re-read and I'll send you now to your address

That swells our group to 40 players.
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: September 13, 2023, 03:35:27 PM
Congratulations on the win. I'm very sad for being able to maintain the lead for only 2-3 days. On the final week I will need to win against jayce and wait for mitchr4 to defeat you. This is a very difficult possibility unfortunately but not impossible. It would be consolation for me if I manage to keep my presence in 2nd place at least.

Thank you! Shame it was over so quickly, but at least we guarantee a final day potential for drama, eh? Everything is possible until the final whistle, but I'm giving my players the week off. No alcohol allowed, but no need to train. It worked out this round as fresh legs blew your team out of the blocks!

Nope, I sad we still have enough different answers for our duel to be interesting.
I hoped he had a different answer for Argentina, because the news that Messi is struggling came late - but he was either lucky or on top of that.
I assume he knew, because if Messi was playing, most of us would have chosen him to score or assist.

I saw the news earlier but Messi still played MLS games he was supposedly too tired to play, so I wrote it off. Thankfully, didn't need that point!
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping or recovering seed phrases during or after a natural disaster. on: September 13, 2023, 09:53:04 AM
Metal, but easily concealable, light, and easy to access, while at the same time not easy to detect as a seed phrase is my personal best-case scenario. I try to think like a refugee (with the understanding I've never been one) and try to think of scenarios we already know.

Long travel by foot over land and sea, fraught with personal risk, metal sheets and other valuables like rings are easily robbed (or in parts of the EU confiscated) so these make it extra vulnerable to risk (not just of exposure but loss). It'd have to be inscribed on tiny items concealed in clothes.

And, only because of that situation, committed to memory. I do note that memorising mnemonic phrases is not so difficult for me, but could pose a language difficulty for most people.

1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollbit | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: September 12, 2023, 09:01:21 PM
Man, I'm just expecting that we will have a bull run and thus less amount of BTC lol. I would be happy to see a BTC conversion right now. That's how I see it.

It's a sponsor requirement. I see nothing wrong with knowing a near-fixed dollar value. I personally prefer BTC, but I suspect it's not so early to the next bull run Wink

I would love to stay on Superbru 100% as we have always used that format here and in many other pools, except the Euro or World Cups where we have used the UEFA/FIFA one time and then used UEFA/FIFA as a side bet,so you can put that with the odds as an additional prize to play for but not split the prizes, you can give that like 1000 dollars as prize as the guy who makes the most correct predictions wins that side quest prize.

I think this should be much more fair than using a dual system for the main purpose of this pool.Waiting to see how will be the final decision before sending in the fee in the next few days.

It's been decided. 70% of the prize still goes to Superbru style. If you follow earlier posts about this, then you know we're trying out an experiment. I like classic pools too but they are much more passive and random (guess the outcome, precise scores are luck), Odds-based favours risk-taking. Sponsors want more value. Players want more engagement. Let's see how it goes end of season. So far, most people are on board. If you don't like the B pot, I'm sure people taking it seriously will be happy to hear. Good luck, and try it anyway! Might end up enjoying it Wink

First time seeing this pool and just trying to get clarity before joining...

Playing for Prize Pot A is easy to understand, but for the Prize Pot B, is this going to be played on Rollbit site as I saw this writing " paid Bitcointalk participants of this pool will gain exclusive access to Rollbit's UCL sportsbook specials " So are we required to place bets here [Rollbit website]or everything will be done on the special spreadsheet  Roll Eyes Hope am not asking questions that have already been answered..

Check OP. It has instructions that I'll update. I quote below. No bets are required.

Separately, there will be other Rollbit sportsbook promotions exclusive to the pool, these are optional, and will be mentioned as they come =)

You can test the sample form at this post.

Scored-based prediction event
Score predictions will be made using a Google form each Matchday. This post will always be updated with the current links.

1. Each Matchday, all participants will be assigned 10 points. Think of this as your bankroll to bet on football. They "stake" these points on Moneyline outcomes on any of the matches in that Matchday.
2. You can stake 1-10 points per match, or spread the points over many matches, but total staked points cannot exceed 10. Unused points don't carry over, each Matchday starts anew with 10 points per participant.
3. Leaderboard Points are earned on winning outcomes, according to the odds of those outcomes. Wrong outcomes earn 0 points. Tiebreakers are won by the player with the largest points accumulated in a single match.

Matchdays 1-6 are Group Stage legs (home + away). 16 games each.
Matchday 7 and 8 are the Last 16 legs. 8 games each.
Matchday 9 will be the QF. 8 games.
Matchday 10 will be SF legs + Final. 5 games.

Looking forward to this one, bro.

Hopefully I can do a bit better in this pool than some of the others I’ve been involved in for the last couple of seasons. Congrats for running this and attracting a great prize pot. Many of us are going to have our eyes on dat monayyyy.

You're one of the constants, and I'm sure you've just been a victim of variance. Guys like you are why we keep this pool prediction tradition alive =)

Wow! Great news! I was already starting to worry  Cheesy
I remembered the nervous tension I felt last season and since the prizes are very tempting, I will continue to experience it now  Grin Hopefully I can take my mind off things and make predictions without being under pressure (which usually hurts the results).

I would still play these pools without a sponsor (and there was always going to be one, even if it was going to be modest Wink
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: September 12, 2023, 07:53:02 PM
Even though I'm the leader now I haven't been able to win any free bets this season. The match between us is really very important this week. I'm becoming champion if I win. I'm losing the lead if I lose. Before the match we held a meeting with the whole team. Everyone is very excited.

And just as it happened with casperBGD last round, we rely on only 2 games tonight to decide where we go next, as all of our other answers are the same! HT result now means nothing. Italy look hungry for more, Sweden stalemate. Good luck, friend, I can't bear to watch...

Congratulations to all of us for took part on this. And most of all congratulations and thanks to Trofo and Cryptofrka for do this possible, and SB for the always support on this and the sponsorship.

Yeah it's my bookmarked forum page/sheet for sure. I actually enjoyed it more in Season 1 when I wasn't worried about my position -- who am I kidding? Of course I like this season much more haha.

Long live BSFL!

I'm almost guaranteed to take 3rd place this season  Undecided

I'd have taken that spot if offered on day 1. You're a topper 2 seasons running... think you got gas for Season 3? Wink

Yeah, I don't admire him, and even if I harboured some sympathy, it's all gone when he did this (if true).

Ten years is a lot of time. I hope he comes to terms with it, hope he moves on, realises he's lost a good part of his youth. No need to waste more. Hire a company, pay them, get a move on.

Easier said than done, of course, I'd probably have wasted years doing what he did.

Thanks for the mention!

@GxSTxV UCL pool is still open for a week, so go ahead and register your interest! It's pretty easy to learn, we have newcomers every season, and I think regular gamblers should slide right in. Even if you have questions, plenty of experienced players to help out =)

You should explore the forum more. And the quality ones (which, after a while, you'll easily tell).

@leea1334 @tokeweed @swogerino @ajiz138 and others, I'm really glad you all decided to join.

I'm pleased to announce our biggest-ever prize pot of $11,000 ($10,000 crypto + $1,000 in freebets) in sponsorship funds, courtesy of crypto casino and sportsbook Rollbit!

OP has now been updated with new guidance while we continue to work (I say we, but it's really just joker_josue haha) on refining the form submission for the odds-based event.

Summary of this season's new points:
- 70/30 prize split. 70% to Superbru classic pool, as that's the most popular, 30% to the odds-based event, which is experimental. Use this week to read the rules and test out the new system!
- 20 prize spots, not 10 -- but you can win in both events.
- stablecoin, but BTC payout, end of season. This preserves the dollar value, per request of sponsor.

We now have 33 confirmed participants (13 paid, marked below with asterisk. Paid but no asterisk? PM me!), and 2 tentative (marked in brackets). Can we see if we get the numbers to cross 50? Invite your degen friends!

1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smart contracts on Bitcoin...Are they worth it? on: September 12, 2023, 01:58:11 PM
Generally agree with DaveF and others -- it's going to be great short term but for permanent users, probably not much value on top of what it's already useful for.

I would say I've been waiting years for a no-brainer user smart contract to enforce escrow or even time-locked release. Something I believe RSK was supposed to work on even back in 2017. But I guess there isn't as much demand as I'd have thought.

For some reason, I have no gut answer for many of the football questions. Italy... aren't Italy of late. Sweden, favs at home but Austria aren't pushovers. Messi on a streak but it has to end... but I sent it all in early. Team is fatigued, they lost the last game, I gave them the training day off.

Free Bets have been credited!
Make sure you use them before they expire.

Well received and promptly put to good use! Will share as son as they settle with a nice green shade.

Never seen this, now I know what it is called, but I figure you got the intent right. I've been guilty of double-triple-checking addresses only by checking with the first and last few characters, but it's rare for me anyway when sending to myself, to not mark the receiving address first from my own wallet.

I even make sure I choose an address in my list that I can easily recognise (usually a string of characters inside in my own language).

"Nice" to see people still haven't exhausted their creativity when it comes to trying to game Bitcoin... "not nice" that some people could very easily fall for that,
