1401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to know where to post? Had one post deleted. Help please. on: September 25, 2018, 07:37:26 AM
I don’t have some knowledge about this forum and how it works but recently I had a post deleted because I might have posted in a section where I shouldn’t have. I try to read as much as I can to learn about bitcointalk but the thing is that I don’t know what happens if another post of mine gets deleted. A friend of mine told me that if I get two posts deleted then my account will be banned. Is it true? Can I appeal for it to unban if it gets banned?

Kindly, help because these questions are confusing me. I have tried googling them but nothing came up that could clear my mind.

Thanks!

Did you received mail of your post get deleted?  if yes, then it means either Moderators considered it low quality or off topic.
If you did not received mail then it means whole topic is trashed.

Did you posted on "Self Moderated Thread" where OP can delete your post without  any moderators help.

below is the list of forum rules

1402  Other / Meta / Re: Number of Merits generated (mathematically) on: September 24, 2018, 06:45:56 PM
But why all those merits were not shared every month? even half of them are not shared yet per month because we still have lot of airdropped merits under circulation so merit sources need to be more active at finding the posts? or there are not enough worthy posts to get merits. Huh

You can refer to Merit Awarded Data here.
I think you are wrong in claiming that Merit Source are not distributing Merits. Majority of air dropped merits were exhausted in a month.

To get the ideal value , Only Merit source are not responsible. If you got Merits and you did not merited others, you just stopped a part of chain and further generation of merits.
1403  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: September 24, 2018, 06:36:26 PM
I welcome this new merit and rank requirements. It will improve quality posts but abuse will be in the same line. Many Newbies will try to beg 1 merit even with purchasing merit.

I find people like you more irritating than newbies. You earned 0 and you spent 0. Fully involved in facebook-twitter-shitposting  and welcoming the system with 0 contribution.
1404  Other / Meta / Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members on: September 24, 2018, 06:14:22 PM
Alone055 is now a Full Member. There is increase in current Merits of BTCHadzija and kaisa.

I think it is better if you remove the Members from the list after they reach that rank, instead of updating "Now ------ Member". It will cause list to be short and to the point.
1405  Other / Meta / Re: Writing a welcome message on: September 24, 2018, 05:31:56 PM

I think in welcome message  we should advise them to "Read the stickies" in the board in which they are posting/reading. Stickies already have answer to questions that newbies ask.

I created a One Pager   few days ago outlining what can be our main points.
1406  Other / Meta / Re: A formula for determining Worthiness of Poster (WoP) on: September 24, 2018, 05:18:32 PM
If this is what you're looking for, why don't you just divide Merit by Posts? Add one to give Newbies an unbiased chance, so:
WoP2.0 = (Merit earned + 1) / Posts. That would give:
satoshi: 2.10
theymos: 0.33
LoyceV: 0.17
soniclord: 0.00

The drawback is that old posts may be good, but didn't get merited because they're old. Over time, this will become less important.

Best way might use the formula like  (Earned Merit+1)/ (Activity gathered after Jan 24 +1) but I guess it will be difficult to calculate the activity generated by user after Jan 24 due to concept of potential activity.

Concept of number of post created after Jan 24 will fix the calculation for everyone.

(Earned Merit+1)/ (No. of post created after Jan 24 +1)

Very nice reply, We cannot argue with the people here that think ICO are created for their bounties and shit posting.
ICO are created to gather fund  to work on implementation of their ideas.
Working on the whitepaper and roadmap should be their priority.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Donations To UNICEF France Can Now Be Paid In Cryptos on: September 24, 2018, 04:49:38 PM
I find below article is much better written, providing all the relevant links.
https://www.ccn.com/unicef-france-accepts-cryptocurrency-donations-for-humanitarian-activities/

It is indeed a very welcome move and bring some global recognition/acceptance to crytocurrencies.

1409  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust for an opinion? on: September 24, 2018, 03:56:42 PM
I received negative trust for an opinion by a legendary member.  Is this allowed on the forum?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1053331

Don't you think you are breaking the below rule by your Post

Quote
3. No trolling.

You can follow AdolfinWolf suggestions, but I will say  talk to Vod before about it and ask him what behavior might get it removed.

One of the Vod quote from the topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=887515.0
Quote
In certain situations, it's appropriate to remove negative trust if the user has shown they understand they made a mistake and they won't do it again.

1410  Other / Meta / Re: [List] of Campaign Managers accepting shitposters. Report here > on: September 24, 2018, 03:36:23 PM

I am aware about this list, It is more about against SPAM, less about accepting Merit.
I will ask pugmam to review Zapo . current bounty manager of BQT.

Since a bounty manger can pop at any time using Copper Membership or can operate outside of this forum, so we should not concentrate on them.
We can work on strengthening  SMAS initiative, further more managers are encouraged to participate in it and contribute in this list.
Anybody feature in SMAS list will get the signature disabled and a neutral trust for spamming.(Theymos help needed.)

Not only bounty managers, every user can contribute to it by using "Report to Moderator" , if somebody reported for spamming then Mod also put them in spam list if they agree.

I think it will be more effective than merit in reducing spam.

1411  Other / Meta / Re: [List] of Campaign Managers accepting shitposters. Report here > on: September 24, 2018, 01:50:24 PM
+1 with  Coinlocket.
There are so many Copper Member manager also, that might be active for that particular project. Creating a list of shit Managers will not help until Theymos decide to ban them.
It will be hard also because some of them created there own sites to manage bounty here.

Better we can go in creating reverse list, list of manager accepting quality poster(Merit requirement). Initiative to bring SMAS back to life. I think if all bounty manager start contributing and referring to SMAS list, spam problem will be solved.
I think , just like Merit source, Theymos can assign some user to run this initiative and anyone recruiting users from SMAS list will be banned.
If spammer do not find any bounty, manager fearing ban will ultimately cause both to mend the ways.
Disabling the signature of the user who featured in SMAS list is also a good solution.
1412  Economy / Reputation / Re: A red trust for absolutely nothing on: September 24, 2018, 01:23:37 AM
Why not try pleading with vod to take the red trust off..

@OP , Vod  has described his negative trust removal policy here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=887515.0

-ve trust given by Vod is only removed by Vod. If you keep arguing that your "shitpost" is a very constructive post, I think other DT might also tag you.
Delete that post, go though some Posting Tips.

You should be happy that you are not reported for Plagiarism , which brings permanent ban.

1413  Economy / Services / Re: who wants to contribute writing crypto related articles and reviews on: September 23, 2018, 08:49:42 PM
Currently we are accepting volunteers only , thanks

Why on Earth would anybody want to waste their time contributing articles to your site, when they could create articles for their own site and keep 100% of the advertising revenue?
Valid point, if somebody do not have site will use Steemit and Medium. The question you are asking is already replied by Stedsm in avobe post. Nobody is going to give work to newbie and if site become successful , then the user can get paid for all previous work too.
1414  Other / Meta / Re: Discover new title(rank) introduced by Jet Cash- "spambies" on: September 23, 2018, 06:31:38 PM
Spam is not directly related to rank nor do the plagiarism.  It is just matter of fact which rank is contributing how much percentage.
Earning 10 Merit and reaching Member rank is not that difficult but they are finding 1 is also difficult. Users who are contributing/discussing got the 10 Merits and progressed to next rank leaving  more spammers in the rank of Newbie/Jr. Member.

Spammer who are already in rank of Member and above, do not complain because they know if they complain they will get only bashing and complaining is not going to give them 90+ Merit or more.  But newbies ad Jr.Member take chance if someone get caught in their emotional drama and they have a chance of rank progression.

Maybe Bitcoinforum also requires some guidelines (i.e. rules) on how to set up bounty campaigns and what's allowed and what not? Wouldn't it be simpler for mods to just approve/disapprove a campaign before it's posted in the first place than going through hundreds of posts and cleaning that mess?

We have all rules and guideline in place, you just need to check the stickies of that board. Forum just giving the space for free to advertise(Creating ANN and Bounty thread). They are neutral party to every campaign running here so Mods checking anything about campaign  is out of question.

 Hi All.

Few days ago Theymos demoted Jr. Member that do not have any Merits and suggested to buy Cooper membership.

Quote
Many of these limitations can be eliminated with a copper membership. In particular, you can set a signature at Member level if you wear a copper membership.

I just checked  few bounties but did not find any that is accepting Copper membership.
My idea is to create the list, so if you know any then reply here.

PS: Copper membership will not give you right to spam and post low value  post.
1417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Help About Forum Rules. on: September 23, 2018, 03:40:45 PM
Meta is a correct board if you need any help for forum rules.

Anyways Theymos change the Ranking Rules again.

Reason for change is described here.

In short , you need 1 merit and 30 activity to be Jr. Member. All of those existing Jr. Member who did not earned the merit were demoted.
1418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Motivation] A little extra effort will pay you in long run on: September 23, 2018, 03:25:06 PM
What to avoid in reading : Speculative topic, Price discussions and thread after first 3 pages **.

The Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion fits all three criteria to avoid (speculation on price, price discussions, 21279 pages long), but is actually a pretty interesting thread for discussion, especially since signatures don't show up in that thread. It's a good general rule, but I think Wall Observer might be an exception. IIRC it's also the thread that has the most merit given in it.

Few exception always exist.  Thread that you have given as example here is a very different world. They share some random pictures also and discuss on them.
Do you really think that thread is good starting point for a newbie to learn crypto?
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crowd Machine - CMCT exit scam??? on: September 23, 2018, 06:04:51 AM
That address just brings up an office building with rentable space.  If he exit scammed then there is no one there at that address anymore, they will be long gone.  I doubt the FBI will do anything, but reporting is your only option at this point.

Another question also arises is they ever been at that address?  They just given an address and people believed it that it belong to them.
Last time I checked the impressio.io address, look like address is registered with name of some company impressio providing software consultancy.
