Sup with DGC? Multiport is on it and we are reaching 4hrs since last block.

Here is a screenshot of my cgminer connected and mining to us multiport. You can also see EU server being reported as dead. Same happens for general ltc pool.

Now after multiport switch the cgwatcher cant even successfuly restart cgminer. Hope you can help me with that when you have time flound Wink

I'm not sure man, what version of cgminer are you using, can you post your config and screenshot?

3.3.1 but the same happened with 3.5. Let me repost the miner log:

As you can see before each switch I am getting a getwork failure and then pool is going dead for me.
Moreover I was never able to successfuly mine through multiport(started 2 days ago) so the solution maybe too obvious to see.

Then cgwatcher tries to restart but cgminer just wont connect to pool as if pool was dead, or more likely rejecting my connection on purpose.

Edit to clarify: CGwatcher is able to start cgminer but it just waits at startup showing only version info. Like it was waiting for connection. Since no connection is made in 30 secs, no api is started therefore cgwatcher kills the process and starts over. If I wait a certain amount of time it will connect me in few secs(sometimes takes 2, sometimes 10 attempts).

Edit2: I am not using conf file, so there are no hidden switches that could crash cgminer. Just command line:
"--scrypt -o pool1.eu.multipool.us:3336 -u fredeq.1 -p 1xx --intensity 13 --worksize 256 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192 -v 1 -g 2"

Flound any idea why my cgminer hangs everytime multiport switches? I have posted before.

Everytime multiport switches cgminer reports getwork failure and hangs. Then it tries to restart 3-4 times before it kicks in. Miner log(recent switch from MEC to LTC):

I started to mine at multiport yesterday and it happens everytime. Earlier I mined pools at multipool without problem.

I cannot connect to ftc pool.

E: It is working now, but was down from around 6:30 AM. Yesterday same happened to dgc pool. Both EU.

Something bad is going on. Site is partially down and I cannot connect to dgc pool.

What dustcoin is showing is exactly your earnings(though inaccurate right now) so I dont understand the question Wink

Making around 80$ each month.

I believe that with newest proportional round time is set to 7 days for all coins.

Could you post some details of exactly how the new scoring system works?
The Help details on the webpage still refer to PPLNS.
How does this affect people mining on one of the dedicated pools, rather than the multipool?

+1

My solution was to only mine dgc, wdc, ltc, nvc, ftc, cgb. Today I disabled nvc aswell.

Whoa, how does one disable coins in the multipool??

I think it would be very useful information for many people if it works and show you how.

That would be indeed cool. Anyway reality is I use cgwatcher(It helps with autorestarting cgminer when it fails too). In this program you can add coins to profiles. I have added profiles for coins that interest me and made a scheduled task to switch to "most profitable coin". This way I mine only what is interesting me and majority of time I am mining the same coin that port 7777 is.

If you want to meedle a bit with cgwatcher take note that multipool uses "most profitable coin(adjusted)" values to find profitability.

Some people complained about their profits with 3x7970. I have the same rig and average around 0,045 per day.

My solution was to only mine dgc, wdc, ltc, nvc, ftc, cgb. Today I disabled nvc aswell.

H2 can you bring back btc/mhash per day reporting?

This will be the main reason for ppl who left to go back to middlecoin.

Also, DGC has a mandatory update:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=289818.0

They are hard-forking at block 476,280 (currently on block 418,821).  It will be about around the end of the month.
They are changing their retarget logic to limit the difficulty adjustments to deal with prof hopping.  I will dig into their code tomorrow to see exactly what they are doing.

From his post, it sounds like he's taken the FTC algo and tweaked the numbers a bit.  I predict this will have approximately zero effect on our ability to profit from DGC.
Dev's like to get clever and sometimes through weird things in there (like the WDC coin value change).  I just like to dig through it and see what they have done (or what bugs they introduced like with WDC).
There isn't any updated source available yet, so I would not download or update anything yet.

There is on on the unocs forum. I admit its strange that main download is down...
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switch][1.5%fee] multipool.us:Always mine the most profitable coin on: September 06, 2013, 11:38:40 PM
Can you post your cgminer config?

Here it is! About an hour ago I added the no-submit-stale just so I don't see the stales rising constantly.

Difficulty is set at 16, the GPU's are 5x 7950's.

Nothing's really jumping out at me..  Can you do me a favor and run a traceroute to the pool from your IP address?  Maybe there's some kind of asymmetric route or something that's causing network issues.

Here you go (note that with whatever coin it's on now, it's at 10% or so it looks like. It jumps up considerably on some though. I attached CGMiner to show the GF/RF's as well):

What's weird about your output is it doesn't say "stratum from pool 0 detected new block" before the stales..   So why are they stales?

I have no idea on that one. Usually it does say a new block was detected. I'm not sure about the above though; that was something I noticed after the screenshot.

I did have a few rejects that said they were below the target difficulty as well. As far as I can tell, all of them in the R pile in the image were from that.

Seems you have no-submit-stales enabled. If you combine it with low scan and expiry then oh-golly we have a pickle Wink Check the settings.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switch][1.5%fee] multipool.us:Always mine the most profitable coin on: September 06, 2013, 11:35:31 PM
FWIW, I'm showing a profit of 0.021 for the last 24 hours with ~1.2MH.  That's about 3x Bitcoin profitability.  I don't see how I could have possibly made 3x that on Middlecoin, that would put them at 9x Bitcoin.

LTC also had a jump in price and a lowering in difficulty, which is the reason its profiability went to 4.  It was around 3.4 this morning IIRC.

I'm going to disable LTC from the multiport for the next 48 hours and see how it affects profits.

What does this mean for ltc direct miners? Ltc is currently most profitable. If I switch lets say in 2 hrs to another multipool coin and no block is found till then, will it mean that all my shares go to oblivion?

"A: PPLNS stands for "Pay per Last N Shares." It means that whenever a block is found, payouts are given to everyone who submitted shares before a certain cutoff. Due to the coin hopping nature of the mutliport, this pool uses time-based PPLNS, rather than share-based. You can view the time cutoff for each coin on the Pool Stats pages."

So after I switch i enter this cutoff time right? When it passes, all my shares are lost?

Second thing I cant find cutoff time on pool server stats for LTC.

Maybe I should clarify that my post was not a whine but clear hunger for knowledge Wink Was not mining multipool at the time of your disabling. Thanks for the answer.

1479  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGWatcher 1.3.0, the GUI/monitor for CGMiner and BFGMiner to prevent downtime on: September 06, 2013, 12:29:38 PM
shacky: There are already plans to provide phone/tablet support with CGRemote, which allows remote control of miners with or without CGWatcher running on them. Anything that can be done in CGRemote you will also be able to do through the (coming soon) CGRemote website and/or phones/tablets. (http://minerremote.com)

fredeq: I've been spending most of my time on CGRemote, but I have started adding support for event-driven actions in CGWatcher. I hadn't yet thought them all out (most were miner-related), but I'll make sure your suggestion is added.

Thank you very much, keep up the great work.

I know the values are low but they are sitting there for over one day, so I wanted to check on that Wink
