Did anyone calculate the difference in power consumption between scrypt jane and scrypt?
My cards run a lot less hot, it must be a drastic change in power consumption.
I am estimating that for every 380W of scrypt, scrypt-jane is running 330W. Those numbers are average values for 1Mhash of scrypt power. |

nah, just 90% and that makes stuhlman sad I think he should make nitro 3 so other pools can go away I don't mine anymore(I mined at leet) because you can't, even nitro2 gets shitload of orphans and has a 2% fee... :| Yeah it seems that only people from other pools joined nitro 2, instead of peopel from nitro 1. Damn you selfish bastards. |

Right now mining with gpu is not giving you any profit. I think this is a good sign that someoen wants the coins so bad  Either that or someone is mining with 750 Tis or asics  |

My r9 290 dies more or less 5 hours after launch with these settings. It runs smoothly at 140kh/s and then suddenly dies. Any suggest? Thanks in advance If you know how, increase your virtual memory from "windows managed" to double your ram and try with gap of 2. Some people reported that it helped, I havent tested it though. |

Getting HW is not normal.
How did you calculate your estimate? Maybe formula was using old block reward - we halved recently.

dcGirl and xwebnetwork once again speak common sense. I'd love to be more involved but have just taken on a role in a Community Energy Co-Op to get things off the ground and raise money for a solar array, plus I have a demanding full-time job and family.
The Crypto-Trade offer raised 32,500 UTC, which even at the very lowly rate of both UTC and BTC is around $3,500. So why not use this money to recruit a marketing manager if Bumface doesn't feel he can do it alone. Offer a $1,500 competition to recruit such a spokesperson with a further reward of the remaining UTC if they raise the price three-fold in three months?

Can you make a hard fork and reduce the total amount of coins from 500 billion to 350 billion and change the reward system?
There is zero reason to change again. Zero, none, notta. Any reason you can give will be fueled by greed. Hell why 350 billion why not 220 billion. That way none else can mine and all of us hold all the coins? This. We could as well propose to end mining as of now, logical right? |

Tips was mined by multipool 3% of the last day, so I wouldnt say they are keeping us down.
We are high enough to make appearance on the list - always some advertising and yet not high enough to be mined and dumped.

--lookup-gap 2 does not work on 4GB machines depending on how many 280x you have. I have a 4 x 280x rig with 4GB RAM and it hangs/crashes when I set to 2. It works with 3. Once I upgraded to 8GB RAM, it worked and I got about 20% higher hash rate. (from 110 to 135-140) Hmm, on my rigs 7970/280x with 4GB RAM --lookup-gap 2 works perfect But it is helpful information, it may be useful to someone. Maybe you have not enough virtual memory or disk space? You were right! I increased virtual memory (Windows) from system managed (default) to 8192MB and now I can use lookup-gap 2 just fine. Now I get 140KH/s across all my 280x cards even on 4GB RAM rigs. Virtual memory is one thing I didn't really think about for mining. Thanks! Yes. Virtual Memory in windows is very important for scrypt mining, on 290/290X cards too. I will add this info to my posted settings, it may be useful to someone. I'm glad you its ok now If I only knew that before I bought new RAM. Many thanks for the info though! |
