1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 06, 2015, 12:38:14 AM
wish to see Mr.Spread to add more fancy features into this great coin~~  Smiley
Mentioned to M Spread earlier, since no pools and stats, maybe we can add some other kind of graph or informations to Qt to monitor mining.
What kind of stats would you like to see? Local hashrate will be mostly constant I think.
I strongly recommend Dev to add P2P chat funtion like talkcoin (which is dying for its dev is a scamer).https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=619210
Since SPR has no pool,mining means the wallet is online ,which is the same with talkcoin.
Dev,plz consider my advice.
BTW: I appreciate your efforts made in the past months,thanks.

Very nice. P2P chat. And instead of having usernames you just "talk" to SPR addresses.

So when someone sends me money, I can personally talk back to him (even without really knowing who he is) and thank him etc...
Wouldn't this bloat the blockchain? Unless the chat is not recorded into the blockchain I don't think this would be very good.

i hope you have nice tits

(no man boobs)

 Tongue

to stay on topic:

free: open broadcast software

fee: xsplit

professional: wirecast
I used to use xsplit (free version) and you can easily switch between the computer screen and yourself. You can even have yourself in on of the corners of the screen if you want. Unfortunately it only works for windows. Sad

Looking at Open Broadcaster Software it seems to be the best one for mac. Accourding to one reviewer he used to use xsplit but now likes OBS better.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: January 05, 2015, 09:41:42 PM
There are some big volumes on c-cex today. I dunno who need this dead coin now (i think it's impossible to pump: first 'new' bot owner presumably is big bag holder and likes to dump it... but maybe it's he who's trying to pump it now?..), but anyway. 4 BTC vol today and max price was 1100 sat. Moto is on 6th place among 'hot' coins. So i hope more people will know about MOTO. Maaaybe even human mining makes some sense now. You know. For poor counties or something. Maybe MOTO becomes more healthy because of more bots. But i must say again that i am just vaguely wondering about more bots, i have no proofs. We need some tech savvy like HunterMinerCrafter to refute or confirm it.
At that price it's $2 for 50 blocks...
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIND] FindCoin | Community Anti-Scam Token | Faucet Distribution on: January 05, 2015, 12:19:47 PM
Since the last Findyoucoin trade on c-cex is 19 sats and the trade-in is 10:1 then Findcoin is currently worth ~190 sats! Yay!
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 05, 2015, 11:15:57 AM
If I don't have a static ip and my upload speed is 30kb/s will I still be able to become a masternode?
also want to know the answer to it,though I have some VPS at hand.

Having ran darkcoin nodes for about 6 months I think it's absolutely necessary to host these on a VPS, if only to provide 24/7 availability for the network. Unless Mr Spread has a trick up his sleeve I'm pretty sure that static IPs will be a requirement.
Ok and how much bandwidth should a masternode have per month?

10GB per month transfer should be plenty, the network demands aren't that high - screenshot from my management console: http://i59.tinypic.com/rvardv.png. Vultr gives you 1000GB per month for $5
I was going to use this: https://bitcoincloud.eu They aren't located in Australia but I can pay with bitcoin and they won't know that i'm only 15. Smiley

I guess this is a really good deal then:
1 GB RAM     1 CPU cores   50 GB diskspace        3 TB bandwidth   0.03080443 BTC
Buy now

Just some small questions before I go to bed;
Have you ever been ddos'ed while running a masternode?
Do you have multiple masternodes running through different proxies?

That 'dump' really is more healthy than detrimental, increasing volume, transactions, and adding new investors to SPR.

Ive made it to the Rich List now and dont feel as anxious praying SPR didnt pop off while I was standing on the dock.

Another baby dump is what Im really looking for. Top Ten, here I come.

Where can you find the rich list again? I know I'm not in the rich list but I would like to see who is holding what lol

Also who here is super excited for the next time Mr. Spread announces something? I know that he has probably been hard at work fine tuning whatever the next feature he is gonna announce is and then we won't be able to buy SpreadCoin cheap anymore Smiley

Looking to get into the top 100 myself...

I think the title is pretty straight forward.

BTC = BlameTheController
"Because it's never your fault."

All I can remember is that that guy was on an episode of The Shaft Podcast.
1472  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get an "Avatar" on the forum on: January 04, 2015, 10:06:14 PM
That's cool! xD
But it would be better if we could put that in the personal message part instead. At least the new forum should be out soon and we will all have avatars lol.
Yeah, a few months ago I found an exploit where you could type way more characters in the personal message sections but I don't think you can change the font size.

The exploit got patched btw.
1473  Other / Off-topic / How to get an avatar on the forum right now! on: January 04, 2015, 09:56:13 PM
First find some ASCII art of whatever you want to be your avatar.

Then add this:

Code:
[font=monospace][size=1pt]
<ASCII avatar>
[/font][/size]

And you get this:

         7O
   @     GGG
  7R   CQGGQ
 SGR  GGGGGQ
7GGR #GGGGGQ      3GGGGGGS    SGC

SpreadCoin

Truly Decentralized
In Bitcoin mining power is centralised by large pools. This puts the whole network at risk if these pools become malicious or if their security is compromised. In SpreadCoin there are no pools, mining power is spread around many solo miners.
Just a small fix...

Edit:

Does anyone ever wonder if Mr. Spread is satoshi? Smiley

Who likes my signature?

SPREADCOIN

You might be able to get way with taking out most of the spaces to save some characters. They're in there to force the table's cell as wide as it can go so that the signature sticks to the right side of the screen and not the cell (which ends up being in the middle of the screen). Wink

Thanks for your imput on the signature, great job.
But...
I think it needs to be more of an original Spread Signature.
Now it is a combination of GAW and Primedice signatures using other colors.

Could an S be made out of the blocks?

I guess that'd be easy, i'll just need to change the font size. BTW I used http://tektek.org/color/ for the colours if anyone was wondering.
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 04, 2015, 06:45:35 AM

Thanks Snogcel. I'm not sure if it will work on a full member. I think it'll just have small letters and you might have a smaller signature character limit. (4k characters for me)

Could someone explain who Chuck Norris is? Is he supposed to be amazing at everything? Is that what these jokes are about?

Seriously, I don't understand this generation. So much technology at their fingertips, yet too lazy to lift a finger.

You can edit if you want to include a tip address or something. You should create a new cell in the table to include your address.

Edit: You will not believe how long it took me to get my addresses (with colour) in that right hand corner. Smiley If you want the code for that then here it is:

You might be able to get way with taking out most of the spaces to save some characters. They're in there to force the table's cell as wide as it can go so that the signature sticks to the right side of the screen and not the cell (which ends up being in the middle of the screen). Wink

Hello All,

I'm happy to report that an automated script is now available for Linux users to get started with!

This package can take a bare installation of XUbuntu/Ubuntu and prep it for Spreadcoin mining. It can also be used to upgrade an existing rig for Spreadcoin mining. It is split into 5 different scripts that are triggered individually by the end-user followed by system restarts. It contains checks along the way to see whether or not an operation needs to happen (specifically, it checks if Catalyst drivers are already installed in step 2).

  • sgminer1.in - installs common dependencies and other updates
  • sgminer2.in - installs Catalyst driver (14.9)
  • sgminer3.in - installs AMD APP SDK 2.9
  • sgminer4.in - compiles SGMiner (spreadcoindx11-sgminer)
  • sgminer5.in - creates batch file for mining

The daemon is quite easy to configure - just copy & paste the following into a terminal window:

Code:
mkdir ~/spreadcoin64
cd ~/spreadcoin64
wget http://spreadcoin.net/files/spreadcoin64.tar.xz
tar -xvf spreadcoin64.tar.xz
mkdir ~/.spreadcoin
cat >  ~/.spreadcoin/spreadcoin.conf << EOF
server=1
rpcallowip=*.*.*.*
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
EOF
cd /usr/bin
sudo ln -s ~/spreadcoin64/spreadcoind .
cd ~/
spreadcoind

Be sure to read the whole Readme at https://github.com/snogcel/sgminer-install-scripts. I recommend installing the daemon between steps 4 and 5, then grabbing a sandwich / beer and hanging out for 15 minutes before proceeding so that the blockchain can sync ;-)
