1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: June 12, 2023, 11:05:56 AM
~

I don't think that the A.I could be useful in predicting outcomes of the things that's going to occur in future. The worst thing with A.I is that it changes its predictions every time and that's why someone who purely relies of such predictions could end up losing a lot of money. Even if someone who's the master of those A.I based predictors couldn't get a proper prediction with very good prompts. Even A.I won't be able to predict the future price of a crypto-currency like Bitcoin because it's totally dumb when it comes to predictions.

I agree that A.I can be very useful for somethings, but most of the time A.I would cause more damage than good to humans and that's why many entrepreneurs are trying their best to stop further research on A.I because they can see that it could be very harmful for humans. I have used A.I software such as Stable-diffusion and I must say it was incredible in generating some images that were of low quality. However, it was still useful for the purpose.

See, You said it yourself, it can be useful. As for predicting outcomes of the things that are going to occur in future, you can ask "How to cook a tasty cheap soup?", and AI will provide you with a recipe, and it's kinda prediction of the future, innit? It's basically saying "Do this and this and you'll get a tasty soup in the future". In sports betting it could be "Bet on this and this, and you'll be in profit in the future." Of course, it's never guaranteed. You can be allergic to some ingredients in the recipe, or you might just don't like the taste, same as your profit might be negative after following AI's advice in sports betting, but we can try several times and see whether we want its help or not. AI has been doing well so far in many fields.
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: June 12, 2023, 10:21:37 AM
There are no smart gamblers in slot machines which are programmed exactly to take our money but in a gentle way. They don't take all our money by giving us 100% losing spins, they or most of them has an hit accuracy of 20-35% meaning every 1 in 4 or every 1 in 5 spins will be a winning one.The same logic goes to the people like myself who can't wait and go and play buy in feature/bonus games, the slot machine will give more losing bonus games than winning ones but it is the hope that in one of these winning one we will hit it big.Of course we win a big prize rarely and this is what keeps us coming back.

There are smart slot gamblers, they are those who can control themselves while playing it. The same as in most other gambling games, smart gamblers does exist although the number is low. As long as we know how to deal with all gambling situation wisely, we are smart already. Smart gamblers are not depending on what games they play, but more about how they play it in all related aspects such as emotion, money management, time management, etc.
I believe there are obviously some smart gamblers who can profit from slots by using effective strategies.

No strategies work on slots, that's the thing, it's totally random, there's no pattern. The only strategy, if you can call it that, is your money management. It won't help you to win, but you can last longer, months instead of days, with a proper money management. During this time you can win big, it is not ruled out, but it's never guaranteed.

~ When you win, it's easy to become greedy for more but this mindset often results in huge loss streaks.

It's important to understand that your mind set and the outcome  of a slot spin are not related to each other. You can be greedy and still win a huge amount, or, you can be calm as Buddha and lose everything. Just stop when you've lost 10% beyond what you can easily afford to lose. There are no "smart gamblers" who know more than that.

Guys, what is your progress in this [$3,000] Royal Club of Originals Week 34|Video Poker contest?

I was saying previously that I got 3 full houses but no four of a kind, but couple of days later I finally hit it:

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/06/05/w38E8.png

As I said before, hittting four of a kind in Video Poker is easier than in a real poker game, and yes, it actually didn't take me long. Smiley

Hurry up, guys, the promo ends in 40 minutes. Good Luck!
22x, that's a nice multiplier there buddy,

Also, just claimed the money I won with that in the Stake Forum contest:

$0.88 + $5.88, it doesn't look that small to me. Smiley

~ I am here just thinking what a good winning this would have been if had you stepped up with a wager of at least $50, that would have been an easy $1,100..

But anyways, not a bad thing though to gamble only wit the amount of money we can comfortably lose, because at the end, it's all about being happy, it doesn't matter how much won, as long as we are happy and comfortable, it's all that matters.
Congrats though, and better winning next time.

Every time I hit a big multiplier, especially if it's around 1,000x, I'm thinking "What if ...?" Yes, it's tempting to try to win a life changing amount through gambling, but, apart form lottery and slots, you have to risk an amount that you can't afford to lose for that. And that's what we, as responsible gamblers, shouldn't be doing.
1467  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: June 12, 2023, 08:34:11 AM
What the OP is saying is also a form of gambling, because participating in a game by predicting its future is also gambling. It is also not correct to say that only the game involving money is gambling and all others are not gambling.

Sometimes I used to see the police around my region arresting people publicly playing shot card games and the label it as gambling even though those playing this game don't stake money but the law enforcement agency still categorized it as gambling, so I believe whether or not you stake an amount or just playing for the fun, it all gambling as long as there is a game to contend for the winning unless it sports games if not it all gambling.
Card games are considered illegal in countries where gambling is not legal, causing police to arrest players even if no money is involved. According to the rules of the country, if the card game is considered illegal to play publicly, then the police will arrest the players. I myself have seen many players get arrested just for playing cards in public places, they were just playing the game for entertainment.

Those are strange rules, but if according to the country's laws playing card games publicly is considered illegal, citizens should abide. If most people don't like it, they should do all they can to change the law, or move to another country if they find out that they are the minority. In most places gambling means staking of something of value, but there can be some odd places where anything resembling gambling is illegal too. To me it's like pressing charges on someone for carrying a gun when it's only a children's water gun like this one

saying that it will lead to using real guns in the future.

But from what I see, gamblers give DeSantis less chance than a week ago

Actually, the chances of all of them above have dropped a little bit since a week ago. Do people think that someone else apart from the trio will have more chances eventually?

I am not surprised. Ron DeSantis is unable to gain any momentum so far in the race. Even the launch of his campaign in Twitter got botched up (due to some technical issues from the part of Twitter). His numbers are more or less the same before and after the announcement. In short, he didn't got any boost after he launched his campaign. It was expected that he will be able to rally the anti-Trump faction within the GOP. But that hasn't happened. That faction is still split, with Haley, Scott, Ramaswamy and Pence still polling numbers that are not too insignificant.

Ron DeSantis is still referring to the Ukraine-Russia war as a "territorial dispute". That's one big mistake of his that I can see, but it's very likely that there are more. American people support Ukraine in their majority, and they want Ukraine to succeed in its war against Russia, meaning, taking its territories back. Nikki Haley, a member of the Republican Party, criticizing DeSantis for his stance on the matter, may start getting more sympathy from Republicans in the future, so I place a small bet on her while the odds are still pretty good

1469  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: June 11, 2023, 11:02:26 AM
.....
I agree with everything you said except the last sentence. There is a saying in economics: "If there's no growth then there's no life in it." If we are not making things better then our life will not stay the way it is, it will be getting worse. So, basically, we have no choice but to grow. We should be improving our knowledge, our income should be getting bigger, and our living conditions must our living conditions must improve along with it. We must be moving forward, we can't afford to stand still.

I may not have conveyed my thought very accurately, but I meant exactly what you said - if you want improvement - change, become different, change your habits, improve your knowledge and skills. Without changing yourself, your life will not change.
~

As I was saying, it will be getting worse, not just staying the same. Some people might think, "I don't want any change, I like my life as it is." And my post was for those people. I know we, you and me, mean the same things, we just put it differently. I know that, mate. Smiley

Guys, look how close was I to a really good win recently:

It's cases like this that make me want to place bets with such high odds more often. Only one win would justify hundreds of lost bets. Actually, I haven't made hundreds of them yet. Prolly more than one hundred, but not over two hundreds, that's for sure, so, I have lots of tries ahead.

How about you, guys, any success with 200x+ multipliers?
1471  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: June 11, 2023, 09:32:11 AM
~ I really doubt what this guy says, I don't believe there is a country where 80% of them invest in crypto. We know the percentage of people who know about bitcoin is still very modest unless he is from El Salvador.

I was surprised myself, but look what Google gave me to my query "how many people invest in bitcoin":

Seriously, I think that number was 10 times lower couple of years ago, no?

Anyway, looks like things in this department escalate faster than we might think, so, 80% investing in crypto in some countries may be not far from the truth these days.

Guys, what are your achievements on The Roo House by Pragmatic Play? I just played it for 20 minutes with $0.20 base bet and here's what my biggest win was:
<snip>
Woah, a new Roobet themed Pragmatic Play slot, is this newly launched? The last time I've seen them having their themed slots from Pragmatic was the Roo Bonanza slot.
In total, there are 2 Roobet themed slots available, correct? Or there's more?
Does this game has exactly the same RTP and volatility, or has it been adjusted?

There are two Roobet themed slots by Pragmatic Play

but there are 2 more Roobet themed slots, one by BGaming, Roobet Gems of Fortune:

and another one by Betsoft, Rook's Revenge

I played Roobet Gems of Fortune today and got some nice wins with my 20 cents bets:

But Rook's Revenge was "Temporarily unavailable" for me, so, I'll try it later, I guess.

1474  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: June 10, 2023, 01:57:34 PM
The definition of saving is setting aside some money from income for future financial needs, including for emergency needs, converting to assets to focus on annual profits, financial independence, and avoiding debt when we are in a financial crisis due to unexpected events such as the pandemic last year.

The picture above is called the "50/30/20 Strategy", the most ideal financial management strategy that anyone can apply regularly and disciplined from each monthly income, the explanation for the term 50 is to use 50% of monthly income for the utilization of funds for routine needs and expenses, the second term is 30% of income for the allocation of funds to realize your desires (not routine needs) because your hobby is buying collectibles, funds for holidays and etc. The last of the 20 terms is to set aside 20% of your monthly income for future beneficial savings.
~

I'm sure, saving 20% of your income is a good strategy when you have all your needs met with the remaining 80%. I mean shopping, dining out, and even hobbies are presented in the picture in the Wants section. What else do you need? Of course it's better to be saving money for the future than spending it on the things you don't need. But we should not forget that many people in the world don't have money for dining out and hobbies, let alone saving beyond those expenses.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: June 10, 2023, 01:20:56 PM
Any comment on this?

https://twitter.com/robertsepehr/status/1662917294379655170

The US media has been largely silent on this story. The released pictures and videos are extremely graphic and if it was anyone from the GOP, then that individual would have been arrested by now, but to jail and his political career would have been finished. But then it is Hunter Biden, who belongs to the left-wing political spectrum. The only platform that is covering this story is Twitter and any related posts are being removed immediately from other platforms such as Facebook.

Well.. I got one article from Fox News:
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nearly-10k-photos-hunter-bidens-laptop-hit-web-truth-transparency

There about 40 people in the category "Next President" on sports betting sites, and there's no Hunter Biden in there, so, I don't understand why is it relevant. Oh, the FoxNews. You know that Fox News is pro-Trump propaganda, right? And they are so desperately want to denigrate Joe Biden that they resort to such dirty methods as citing Russian media known for their constant lies. FFS!

If it where Trump's wife ormson has those things inside the laptop, the media would tirelessly flash all those things to keep the votes down on Trump. Its just the way it is though. Biden was not asked like they were pressing him to answer. The media was more interested on what ice cream flavor did Biden bought.

If there were many options, Trump probably may not win as well. But he is more popular among any other candidates.

You mean, he's more popular among the other Republican candidates, or what? Because the bets are going on Biden:

and I think we have these odds for a reason. It's not like gamblers decided to support Biden this way, oh no. They bet their money on the most popular candidate because they want to win their bets.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: June 10, 2023, 10:42:33 AM
Those who are scared of Chat GPT just admin that you suck at poker. It is 52 cards in deck, that is not a race, you can also take your time and calculate all the combinations and possibilities. Or you think Chat GPT can look through cards and cheat? Or it has more luck than a human? I just can imagine what advantage AI can have over human in a game where luck is one of the most important factors to win. There is only a disadvantage that AI has - machines can not bluff, they can only calculate.

I wonder how can we calculate the combination and possibilities when all we can see is jut the cards on the flops and card in our hands.  There are too many variables to calculate the right combinations and possibilities.

Looking at the statistics, I don't know if we are able to calculate it manually while playing.

Regardless, I still think that chatbot has no capability to destroy poker on-online gambling because all these chatbot can do is just give a suggestion.  Besides, card distribution is random and that makes the result undetectable by bots.

However good you are in calculating the probabilities, you have no advantage whatsoever if you start playing with unfamiliar to you people. But after playing many hours with them, especially if you are an AI, you have stats on them, you know when to call their bluff, when to fold, how much to raise to make then fold and stuff. Yes, luck is still involved and your win is never guaranteed, but you do have an advantage, and you'll be winning in the long run.

Online poker won't be destroyed, though. You can't force the same people to play with you all the time.
1477  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: June 10, 2023, 10:08:16 AM
Everyone wants financial freedom but a small minority achieves financial freedom. The foundation of financial freedom is family for me. If you don't have any inheritance or money from your family you have to work hard for financial freedom and luck should be on your side. Financial freedom cannot be achieved by working hard. The biggest obstacle is the lack of sufficient inheritance. There may be exceptions but these are the facts.
Yeah. I can't deny what you said regarding inheritance. But in the end everything will depend on how we can manage our finances and all the assets we have. Even if we get a lot of inheritance from our parents, it is not certain that we will be able to multiply this inheritance and make us achieve financial freedom. if we do not have enough insight to manage finances well. Because even having a lot of wealth will not guarantee that someone can live rich until old age if he is not good at managing finances.

But if we have enough insight and strict self-discipline in managing finances and can generate more income with the right business strategy then of course we have an inheritance and make it capital so we can get more income faster and save and invest some of it. it can bring us closer to realizing our dream of achieving financial freedom

I agree, I think the importance of inheritance in your ability to achieve financial freedom is overstated. People who don't have rich parents, or, were excluded from the inheritance for some reason(and the reason can be their desire for freedom, by the way), these people are not doomed to poverty. There are tons of examples of them succeeding in life and achieving financial freedom. Yes, it's hard, but it's possible with good education and hard work.

did pragmatic give big wins this week?
i saw some people win big multiplier from pragmatic. only 650x multiplier but satisfactory results.

https://replay.pragmaticplay.net/TXSB2kIPq4

Amazing win, @len01, congrats!

I've never won anything better than 20x on Pragmatic slots, but maybe because I'm avoiding them remembering that they don't deliver much to me. Of course I know it can't be like a rule, so I'm trying them from time to time in hopes of winning something good one day.

You have missed the diamond in search of gold Grin. I have also similar experience like you, I rolled the 99.99 and 0.00 number several times while playing on 100× to 990× multiplier. I never hit the 9900× multiplier on Primedice, but I got it several times on other crypto dice sites. I was trying to catch the 9900× multiplier on Primedice when the VIP challenges was available on their forum.

That's right. That's exactly how I feel.  Still, gold is not bad too, innit? Smiley

And how about this

It's not even gold, it's 4 cents, it's nothing money-wise, but nevertheless it feels good.
Normally I do martingale with this kind of bets. I start with extremely small amount, and double it every 10 bets or so, but this time it was only 7th bet when I hit it.

Claimed my prize from the PD Weekly Heroes Wk 56:

so, $2.50, not that bad, I'm happy. Smiley
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: June 07, 2023, 10:13:24 AM
I try as often as possible to remind myself to expect the worst while making plans for the best when gambling, it's not easy, I know, it's even more difficult as a newbie when you're on a consistent loss but Don give up, you can take sometime out to up your game and retry again.

These "Don't give up" words are dangerous if applied to gambling. Those are good words of encouragement when you are trying to create something in real lfe using your skills and efforts, but for gambling it's more like "know when to quit" are more suitable words.

~
These tips are helpful. We can minimize our losses by playing in moderation. Because there's no strategy that can work in gambling however we can use our knowledge if you're playing a skills based game (depending on the games you prefer). Nevertheless, gamble with main desire of to have fun and not to win huge. So you're not after winning but to satisfy yourself.

Good words, @lienfaye. And your satisfaction is worth something, innit? In fact you are paying for it with what you lose to gambling. Just don't lose more than you can afford to lose, and you will always be a winner.
