14981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins are good for bitcoin adoption? on: April 02, 2015, 12:50:32 PM
Dogecoin for sure.

I don't know why so many people are supporting Doge here. Doge is just another shitcoin, which had a pump and dump. It tried to steal users away from BTC and failed in that.

And moreover, a lot of people have become bankrupt as a result of Doge. In January 2014, it was going at BTC0.000002-000003. Now its price has been reduced by some 5-6 times.

I think you miss the point.  Cryptocurrencies are here to empower us first and foremost.  It is revolutionary.  Profit and everything is come secondary.  So if people are bankrupt because they invested in a crypto or in real estate or in a stock, then that's their own fault.  But calling Doge a shitcoin pump and dump is kinda harsh in this case.

Instead, take a look at what it has achieved...  http://dogecointimeline.com

Not bad for a "shitcoin pump and dump".  And I am pretty sure Satoshi himself would agree.
14982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins are good for bitcoin adoption? on: April 02, 2015, 02:06:37 AM
I think Dogecoin helps it, its a friendly way to get people into crypto, the community is nice, the coin is fun.

I don't know why people think its Dogecoin vs Bitcoin.

bitcoin has much big community and adoption than compare with doge, so in my opinion bitcoin do not need any alt coin for its adoption.

True. Tbh, there isn't much of a competition between Dogecoin and bitcoin. Dogecoin is meant to be a not-so serious coin after all, whereas, bitcoin is designed to be the currency of the future because of its innovative technology. Imo, bitcoin can still see worldwide adoption even without the help of other altcoins. It's just a matter of good pr and any other good stuffs relating to/related to bitcoin.

True.  But I think the bitcoin community and even the Bitcoin Foundation should start embracing some of the legit altcoins (ltc and doge come in mind), to build a ecosystem between these coins.  That's where we're headed anyway.  Why not make it official?

I agree.  They have an awesome community.  And Dogecoin has done a lot more helping others, more than any other altcoin... maybe even bitcoin.
14984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will Fizzle to Nothing.. on: April 02, 2015, 01:56:19 AM
I love Bitcoin I really do but I just can't see businesses adopting it like I wish they would.
Bitcoin is a 'thing' of the moment like the Harlem Shake.

I hold over 4 bitcoin and spend weekly although it's only about £12 worth. I usually buy from takeaway from takeaway.com although I also bought from bitstickers this week.

I would love to know I can spend bitcoin anywhere, supermarkets, taxis, buses, local shops but I just can't see it happening.

14985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: April 02, 2015, 01:22:32 AM

I think jokumat was asking if there is enough BTC from the IPO to continue.
14986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: April 01, 2015, 11:19:55 PM
As recently as less than a month ago not only I was here but providing specific advice and actions needed to push this project forward.

But some of the evident facts you CAN'T see -nor will ever- pass by the sad reality that drak is NOT a smart man at all. And neither are you.

What did I told you, Mr. barabbas? That I can prove you are being smartass (and troll), but you can't prove that I'm stupid. I can even call you stupid if you think that I am sitting here 25/7 craving for VIA's success. Now... let me show you something.

1. You can check here who I am. You can find my personal phone number (if you want to call me and talk about your issues) and even my address (if you want me to buy you some vodka and take care about your problems).
2. Cryptoventures LTD. is VAT registered company and it use official domain name extension of Bulgaria were it is located. The company is dealing only with cryptocurrencies. Do you know what that means? It means that I am PROFESSIONAL and not some yada yada troll with 2 GPU's in his basement. That doesn't always mean that I am taking right decisions every time, but it should mean that sometimes I know what I'm talking about.
3. If this is not enough for you (I'm sure you want some more), this is who I am:

Should I explain this one as well? No worries! It means that I am standing here with my name and everything! Now... tell me WHO YOU THE F* ARE YOU AND WHAT IS YOUR CREDIBILITY, EINSTEIN?!

Yes. I shall also post my ID for credibility.  I am now standing here.  For the rest...  where's is your credibility Albert Mr. Einsteen?
14987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stay away from monero on: April 01, 2015, 11:39:20 AM
dont buy into this scamcoin.....

Yes stay away from Monero and all of the other rising coins.  Hold BTC so together we ride all the way down below 200
14988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT could merge in QUBIC before it dies !? bright future !? on: April 01, 2015, 11:36:26 AM
For me it's enough if Nxt doesn't die before I release Qubic. Then (if Nxt community doesn't mind) all Nxt coins, assets and other stuff could be transferred to Qubic. Qubic is planned to be released in 2016 when we (Jinn Labs) complete development of its hardware backbone.

looks like nXt future could be dependent on dem company 'Jinn Labs'

here's what could happen :

it will empower NXT in a way that it can even surpass Bitcoin within days.

So with his proposal NXT actually has a brighter future than any other cryptocurrency today.

u see, with Jinn NXT might actually have brighter future than any other cryptocurrency today.
it might even surpass Bitcoin within days !

14989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I keep MYSELF from spending my BTC in the next 5 years? on: April 01, 2015, 07:36:56 AM
Is there a way I can make BTC unspendable in the next 5 years?  I know it's "programmable money," but can I do this outside of a 3rd party app?

I can keep my BTC in cold storage, but the temptation will always be there to take it out of the safe and spend it.  What's the best way to store it for a given amount of time if you don't trust yourself?

Think of it like a CD.  Is there a viable option that exists now?

Send them to me. I'll keep them for you.  Grin
14990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see BTC over $1,200 again? on: April 01, 2015, 07:33:46 AM
True.  We do not know exactly.  It's a good idea that we should because there was clearly  price manipulation that went on at the end of 2013.  It was somethng that would set alarm bells if the SEC were regulating cryptos.

... Not that I would mind it happening again.  Grin. I hope it does.
It's all speculation and theory. That's why we should stop acting smart, because we won't know what happened. We should focus on the future, rather than remember the dark times of Mt.Gox.

I say if the ETF doesnt happen, I would see similar to how facebook went public on got more public funds.

It wouldnt be facebook obviously, but I`m referring to companies such as SF location esp silicon valley raising funds then selling out at IPO is old news.
So companies like Coinbase for example, would effect traditional investors thus having more skin in the game for price movement.
or it may not be so public at 1st, it would be in on sites like this https://sharespost.com/private-market-insights/sharespost-100-list/
The price is being manipulated, so nothing should surprise us there. Bitcoin is volatile as ever. The times are hard for bitcoin, with media focusing on the bad, markets being manipulated, the upcoming fork and such. Hopefully everything ends up as supposed to.

True.  Just pointing out that a parabolic move late 2013 was manipulated rather than the market finding bitcoin's true value.  The crypto-scene has no regulatory body looking out for it.
14991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: April 01, 2015, 12:42:12 AM
pretty obvious to me that drak is satoshi nakamoto !
VIATOSHI DRAKAMOTO.      0.00000001VIA is 1 viatoshi

Hahaha...  That's where we're heading.  :p
14992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the Federal Reserve Issue Their Own Cryptocurrency? on: March 31, 2015, 02:19:02 PM

Since the invention of Bitcoin some have thought about cryptocurrencies issued by central banks or governments. Recently the idea of Fedcoin stimulated a lot of discussion after David Andolfatto from Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis presented the idea at P2P Financial Systems 2015. David also discussed the idea in a post. As a concept the idea is intriguing, but soon a flurry of questions about details have been raised. Among those are issuance, distribution, peg to the dollar, miner rewards, restriction on users and miners, monetary policy and others. I will attempt to address these issues as I see them.

Read the full post on Diginomics.

They will probably use Ripple.
14993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you fools pathetic - or what? on: March 31, 2015, 02:17:48 PM
C'mon guys - this is just crazy.  The poor guy went to JAIL yesterday.  He has done so much for the community.  His crime was TINY!

This is all we managed to scrape up for him?  (.6 BTC)  What!?
https://blockchain.info/address/1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93

C'mon you cheap bastards, give the guy a few bucks.

I challenge you, no, I demand you pick up your damn android and kick down a few bucks.  Just to make his first day feel a little better like someone actually cares.  I am sleeping in nice sheets tonight - he is sleeping with four roommates on canvas.  To answer this challenge, please send .111 bitcoin to 1NEgShr962NMHXet3WTVzwuW2189JRrP93 so we can see who agrees.

Who's wallet is this?  Yours??
14994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you fools pathetic - or what? on: March 31, 2015, 02:16:42 PM
Wasn't he a pedo or something like that?

and I doubt he is sleeping on canvas he is able to tweet from jail, pretty sure it's low security.

Nah.  All he had were a couple of jailbait pics in his laptop.
14995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you fools pathetic - or what? on: March 31, 2015, 02:15:30 PM
Two questions.  Who is that?  Why did he go to jail?

You mad bro?

(Sorry couldn't resist. Grin  hihihihi)

And yes, people start asking questions when they lose money.  That's how it usually is.

You high bro?
(Sorry... I couldn't resist either.. yada yada)

You proved several times that you are like broken radio. There is only one thing, which matters to you and that thing is the price. You don't care about what VIA is and such. I am losing money as well, but I never cried like you people do. You guys need to calm down and think if you can contribute with something. In the mean time Drak and Todd will do their thing.

Yes.  Grin

And yes, I was asking questions and wanted the answers with links and written responses if there were any.  But no, I never whined.
14997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: March 31, 2015, 12:01:37 PM
People continue to ask same 1-2-3 questions, but IMHO they first need to answer some questions for themselves.

1. Where were you when the price was 71k satoshi? Why didn't you asked questions then?
2. Where were you when Drak asked for suggestions about future of Viacoin wider adoption?

You guys are like broken radio which stuck on one station. Don't you understand that Drak and Todd cannot influence on the price?! They can just work on what they can and when they create something innovative, then people will eventually value it. There are 10s of SHITCOINS, which currently worth more than VIA and do you know why it is? Because of you! When the price is high - it's ok.. no matter if some guys dump it, because some new coin will be launched. It's how the game is played.. I am profiting from shitcoins as well, but ask yourself something. In what exactly way you are protecting coins, which actually matters? Don't you think that eventually there will be no coins to support at all? If you think you can make some difference, and you are VIA holder, why didn't make some actions?

Why do you think Kennedy said: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."? I will answer for you: BECAUSE HE'S STUPID AND YOU ARE SMARTER!

You mad bro?

(Sorry couldn't resist. Grin  hihihihi)

And yes, people start asking questions when they lose money.  That's how it usually is.
14998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: March 31, 2015, 11:33:49 AM
The beauty of open source projects is that anyone can participate in taking the project to the next level, not only btcdrak & co. It was not Satoshi who made bitcoin happen - he just layed the groundwork, other people continued and built on top of the foundation.
Via needs something like that exactly.  But so far, there's nothing.  So we can't really blame the people who invested in this project for getting mad because via isn't really going anywhere.  People invested their hard earned money in this.  And the only thing that makes this project look good right now is Peter Todd being on board.  So imagine if he left... Confidence in this project would plummet faster than it is now.

Yes, this is exactly what VIA needs. Viacoin has a bunch of features which can't be found on other blockchains, VIA needs people who are willing to experiment with these features, VIA needs people to build on top of ClearingHouse and VIA blockchain. However, it is not drak's responsibility to 'recruit' people to do this. Drak (along with Todd, etc.), is a developer laying the basis on which others can build applications.

We can't really blame Gavin Andresen either, when bitcoin is tanking. Smiley

Yes.  But so far there's nothing.  Sad

That's the whole point.
14999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Monero-Dark wars ?? on: March 31, 2015, 11:28:47 AM
Why the "wars?"

Here's what happened:

1) Monero and Dark supporters mostly ignore each other.

2) Dark's Dictator-For-Life suddenly attempts to buy the rights to another Cryptonote coin called Dash, in order to rebrand and shed DRK's reputation as an instamined scam coin for criminals.

3) Many Darkcoiners are upset at being victims of this bait-and-switch fraud, and drama ensues.

4) Amused by the chaos and controversy, Moneroans chime in to the discussion.

5) Feeling picked on in a moment of vulnerablity, Dark-cum-dash-coiners go absolutely mental and fly into a frothy rage.

6) Moneroans laugh at and make fun of at their immaturity and insecurity.

7) Dark-cum-dash-coiners respond to this mockery by closing ranks into a parnoid cult-like formation and use Scientology's 'attack-the-attacker' strategy to seek revenge.

Cool Moneroans enjoy more lulz at the expense of the poor suffering Dark-cum-dash-coiners, who now find themselves being asked uncomfortable questions about obfuscation, instamining, Masternode backdoors, autocratic rebranding, insufficient grounds for trademark grants, and their Bus Factor of one.

9) Dark-cum-dash-coiners grow tired of lavishing attention on visiting posters they have ostensibly ignored and complain this forum "isn't fun" anymore, expressing a desire to take their ball and go home to pout in some obscure venue created exclusively for their groupthink.

10) Moneroans enjoy more lulz.

11) 2/3 of Darkcoin core devs are fired or quit.  Vertoe returns to confirm DASH is Digital Trash:

darkcoin or however it will be called next year is not a decentralized entity.

this currency is lead by a single person.

darkcoin is like an old conservative company with strong hierarchical comamnd structures and a single person on the top of the pyramid.

fuck this i tell you.

darkcoin is not decentralized as it still relies on a single person.

the core devs were just a bunch of volunteers exploited for the big thing.

the things going on here are fishy, intransparent and rely on a single entity.

i will get out and and will contribute to something decentralized and anonymous.

you are probably investors trying to win a gold donkey. or you are simply trying to exploit every possible vector of profit in the coins space. whatever. you are not here because darkcoin is something it claims to be.

what if evan duffield suddenly announces he quits the project tomorrow morning?

12) GOTO 10

Where can we view such entertainment?

I'm surprised by how many threads people think need to be dedicated to the exact same discussion (or to just promoting Monero).  Roll Eyes

Seems to be working though...
