1501  Other / Beginners & Help / Is there any progress Release by bitcoin development Community on: September 09, 2018, 03:27:13 PM
There re so many technological implementation like Lightning Network  and Schnorr signature will take place in future. I understand the repository is available at "https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin"  but is there any weekly or Monthly update by Bitcoin Development community that announce about the progress of projects or expected go live of a implementation.

In short, how Bitcoin Development share the progress to the general masses?
1502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [for merits] How will the introduction of Schnorr signatures affect Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2018, 03:15:21 PM
Schnorr Signature allow the users to sign all the input with one signature if they are part of the same output. Signing the message requires space so the space will be save by using schnorr signatures and more transactions can be accommodated  in the block.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: September 09, 2018, 06:12:04 AM

steem is a coin that I find that has use and transactions are really fast and can be done 1/1000 of Steem, that will make a 1 cent transaction if steem value reaches $10.  I think steem is undervalued but what makes SBD more valuable than Steem?

I cant believe steem is as weak as shit. Steem falls to just another shitcoin.

I will get rid of this shitcoin. Nothing but shit.

I will take 10 on Coinmarketcap price, provided price stays less than 12300 satoshi per Steem.
1504  Other / Meta / Re: VOTE PLEASE > [Request]Use of Homographs to be forbidden. on: September 08, 2018, 09:35:11 PM
I guess if homograph character set(cyrillic characters) support is disabled in this forum where primary language of posting is English then it will be very easy to detect the homogarphs, They  will convert to gibberish and everybody will understood that cyrillic  character are used to hide copy-pasting. I guess it will reduce the work of everybody.
1505  Other / Meta / Re: Question about thread reporting. on: September 08, 2018, 05:47:39 AM

How can you report a thread? I ask because I only know the normal "report to moderator" feature, but in this case it's the individual post that gets reported - you punish the OP for something he isn't the culprit.

OP is culprit of not closing it own thread after gathering enough responses and left the thread to grow on indefinitely. I believe in  most of these thread OP just start the thread and never return back to check answers or comment back.
1506  Other / Meta / Re: User nominated names of possible moderators for forum. on: September 08, 2018, 05:36:47 AM
My quick glance shows that below Forum section do no have Moderator.

Skandinavisk
(Korean)
Nederlands (Dutch)
India
Hrvatski (Croatian)
Off-topic
Economics
Project Development

First we should prioritize the section where we have no Moderator.

"Beginners & Help" moderator MiningBuddy was last online on April 04,2018. Leaving B&H  without a dedicated moderator is not at all good choice.

"Offtopic"  can be made "No activity Generating forum" to reduce some spam there.
1507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Storing data on blockchain on: September 06, 2018, 02:02:06 PM
Like the title, is it possible when we could storing data on blockchain ?

Read the full thread "https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4554177.0" in development and technical board. You will get the idea how expensive is to store the data in blockchain and not at all advisable at all.
Blockchain is not created for storing our documents leave them with the transaction data.
1508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Good And Bad Of ICO Listing Sites! on: September 06, 2018, 01:55:52 PM
Do you have experiences with ICO listing sites?

How do you differentiate the good from the bad?

If you are investing in ICO then make sure to do your own research, You can follow the guidelines in the below post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5004397.0

As people earlier already pointed that these website are now become paid/promo website so they cannot be trusted.
1509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice on creating a decent [ANN] wanted. on: September 06, 2018, 01:50:33 PM
If you are intimidated by the ANN designs and signature design then you get paid help too in this forum ANN/Signature design creation.
You need to pick someone from "Services " https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 section or you can create a new post there stating your requirement.
1510  Other / Meta / Re: Just A Crazy Thinking. on: September 06, 2018, 04:40:10 AM

And in addition, who will take the place of the current position if theymos will quit from this just like satoshi does from back then. Wink
Drop your suggestions below Smiley

Just a crazy thinking Grin

Really a good question. Might, we have a decentralized forum afterwards and the Byzantine generals here find a consensus of Proof of working together to solve the at least 51% of the problems in this forum.  They might quickly ban the dust members and might take some step that might increase the current TPS of the incoming funds in this forum.

1511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get started anonymously? on: September 06, 2018, 04:21:59 AM
I think OP can choose any of the wallets listed in the site "https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet" depending upon the platform what OP is using as well as the type of device that OP intend to use. It is better to take segwit enabled address to save some fees.
1512  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Perfect trading on: September 06, 2018, 04:14:26 AM
First take aside the money that you are comfortable in completing losing it. (Do no trade by taking loan or money that you might need to pay upcoming bills). Divide this money in 3 parts . Invest the first part in some 5 good projects or you can take 5 top coin from top 20 list if you do not want to dedicate yourself in research. Now put second part for the same coins but target to buy in 10% discount from the first purchase.  Now put your third part as reserve and to use it when you believe that coin has now tanked and cannot go further. Make sure to make some profit guidelines like 10% profit, you will sell that coin and invest in other coin that look like trading in bottom.

But if you reached the state where coins have tanked below your lowest expectation and you have used the third part of money too then in fourth step you need to pray the god "Oh God! Please help me get my investment back, I am not going to trade again " and simultaneously you need to tell the world that you are "HODLING".
1513  Other / Meta / Re: Advisory for Altcoins Boards and request for sticky thread on: September 05, 2018, 07:24:03 PM
I am agreeing with the point that serious user is supposed to do the all the research but I do not see any harm in re-enforcing the research thought again in the user mind. I personally believe whenever it comes to money people some time act foolish.  I also believe there is some kind of generation gap happened in this forum in which older generation joined this forum to understand the usability of bitcoin and feasibility of this consensus network and a newer generation that joined to understand the earning potentials of the bitcoin or earn a few bitcoin in this forum. And the people with trading mentality are really in risk of getting scammed and announcement of so many scam ICO is a proof that scam is still paying very well.

I will support my thought of the advisory in Altcoin might be in same line that currently exist in Gambling section.

Quote
Warning: You are in the Gambling section. You are likely to eventually lose any money that you gamble/"invest". Additionally, moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Do not gamble more than you can afford to lose.

Quote
Warning: You are in the Altcoin Announcement section. No coin announced here is endorsed by this forum. Additionally, moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Do not invest in any coin before thoroughly researching them. You can follow guidelines stickied here but all investment made will be on your  own risk.

I will say again that there is no harm in repeating a useful advisory.
1514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing in ICO tokens on: September 05, 2018, 05:47:35 PM
I was wonder why so many people invest in ICO when they don't know the actual token price,

It is a human nature , the prospect of earning very big amount in future  make it neglect every logical fact  and every advisory that is present. We just try to console ourselves might be others were unlucky but everything will be good for us.

If you believe in the success of ICO, why don't wait and buy directly from exchange at lower price?

Exchange listing take times and if it is really a good ICO then I do not think that it will be dumped that hard. Everybody has a "FOMO" and marketing peoples are expert in cashing these emotions.
1515  Other / Meta / Advisory for Altcoins Boards and request for sticky thread on: September 05, 2018, 05:38:13 PM
While visiting the the Altcoin Announcements (tokens too), Bounties and Service Discussion , I noticed there is no warning thread pinned that warn the investor that nothing in this board  (or any Altcoin) is endorsed by this forum and everybody is free to announce their altcoin here without any restrictions. Forum do not give any kind of advisory that Investment should be done after "DYOR". I think even it is not binding , but forum should put advisory thread in all the boards where monetary transaction can take place or threads created for investment and monetary gains.

I saw many users like ICOEthics and Coolcryptovator are doing a very good job in exposing scam. I agree scam accusation should go on scam accusation board
but I like to request a sticky thread  in Altcoin/Token Announcement board with title like "ICO tht are accused of scam" where user can put the name of ICO and their link to their scam accusation thread. It will really help everybody in searching  the name of scam ICO easily.

Coolcryptovator also created a guide but I do not for how many days it will come in first page Guidelines, how to spot a scam ICO & report effectively. ✔  so I like  to request for the sticky for thread like this or create a very generic thread as a sticky where we can put link of all these tips and technique for busting scam ICO.

Hoping a positive response from mprep  and Welsh.

1516  Other / Meta / Re: Scammers entering on the forum without obstacles on: September 05, 2018, 05:05:20 PM
My suggestion is to prevent scam;

Means everyone will able to reply, but below Full Members will not able post new topic. So scammers will not able to post directly above boards unless they bought account.
On that situation ICO team will try to hire some one from higher rank. Obviously higher ranked members will investigate minimum before take a project due to red tag from DT. Because no any higher ranked managers expect red paint on his profile. Also we can ask a manager to delete or lock the topic if there is enough evidence against scammers. But if a topic posted by scammers, we can't force them to delete or lock the topic & moderators also not able to do it due to scam not moderated by forum.

Will not help a bit. There are many Full member and above  will gladly do the work for few bucks. Check the red tags earned in this forum most of  themju got red tag for scamming few dollars or doing something unethical. Red tag does not stop from posting so what about the users who already have read tags? It means just opening a economic opportunities for red tag as there is no rule that say Bounty cannot be manged  by the user having red trust.
What do you think of this legendary bounty manger needmoney? look like he is now managing the bounty outside the forum effectively shielding the participant list too.

The solution is already presented by you earlier by writing some of your tips on how to check for scam ICOs, Hope you will share more of those tip and technique that will be really beneficial for all of us. If investor do not fall for scam then people will stop scamming automatically and we need a well aware investor/community to stop scam.

I think best way is to collect the tips and technique for how to identify the scam ICO and get it pinned in Altcoin Announcement, Bounty and Services sections.
1517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Intro to bitcoin on: September 05, 2018, 04:18:52 PM
If somebody is not finding not any mean to get into BTC then he/she can try faucet. I have installed ad blockers so no faucet work now.
I made account in faucet hub and tried many sites for it in Dec -2017. All are running coinhive and very annoying but there is difference in coinpot faucets as they are not for claiming but they have some survey offers and promotion offers that sometime amount to $5 but all these offer are very hard to find and more hard to complete successfully. After wasting 1-2 week everybody get the knowledge that there is no free money as such.
1518  Other / Meta / Re: Who behaves the most like the forum-police? on: September 05, 2018, 06:50:43 AM
I find Vod most consistent in his outlook/feedback while red tagging any one.
LoyceV already have a thread to get the user banned for copy pasting.
iasenko is also coming with new ideas .
Look like mdayonliner is now sulken with his initiative (I think after red tag)
coinlocket$ is always busy in busting alt accounts here.

The Pharmacist is a good choice but I personally believe sometime he/she is in a hurry to give tag or already decided on it.

Everybody is volunteering in this forum so picking anyone over the other will be some kind  of injustice to other. Feel free to add others if I forgot to add them.
I did not add Lauda and actmyname as they do not look active here (atleast in Meta)

1519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What bounties are attractive? on: September 04, 2018, 05:41:03 PM
Hi,
I'm on my way of creating a bounty campaign for my game related project.

What bounties are attractive for audience? I mean rules and conditions for participation and rewards

I saw a lot but they are the same. Anything new?

Bounties that paid in bitcoin and ethereum are actually attractive to the participant. You can limit the top percentile (like top 50 ) for this category. you can put some merit requirement for to participate in it.You can couple both your token bounty as well BTC/ETH bounty to get the quality and quantity.

But the most important thing that you did not asked is the selection of the bounty manager. I am not going to recommend you any single name but a list of name from which you can select a one.
