1521  Other / Meta / Re: The most IMPORTANT post you will read this week. Let's get off this path now... on: December 24, 2018, 11:13:38 AM
mikeywith probably said everything that needs to be said, but if certain people are causing you so much annoyance it's probably best to just ignore them and your problems will probably go away. Take a few days off for the holiday if the board is getting to you but things aren't that serious and there's really no grand conspiracy here.
1522  Other / Meta / Re: I've stopped reporting posts on: December 24, 2018, 11:09:53 AM
I think I've only reported about 100 posts with 97% accuracy, but I see that as 3% failure. If I fail. then I like to know the reason for the failure so that I can improve my performance. I was going to report the thread I mentioned because of the title, and the lack of information in the OP. Normally I wouldn't have opened the thread, but I was in one of my "Lets improve the Internet" moods. Smiley

Did I read that it is now possible to view a listing of our post reports. If so, that would solve the problem for me.

I think you need to have reported a minimum of 300 posts or something before that becomes available. Don't be disheartened by one bad report. They help us out and I think pretty much everyone gets them. Just learn from the mistake and if something has a source link then it's probably best not to report it.

Quote
Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.

You reported something as plagiarism but the person provided the source link so that's probably why it was marked as bad.
1524  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: December 23, 2018, 11:19:12 AM
I wonder what attire is required? Black tie and tails?

Username:andulolika

address: will be posted if accepted.

also, Its second time I try to join but my message was erased by a mod, so if im accepted let me know and I change my clothes.

Or perhaps this person will be so shocked if they get accepted that it will require a change of clothes after they soil themselves.

I was just about to post this. Maybe he suits up everyday for work as a sig campaigner. I know I do.

Saw this one today:

Does grooming lead to sex, or does sex lead to grooming or neither?

Who knows. I  can’t tell from this.  I mean, it makes sense that if you groom you might think about sex more, and thus have sex more often.  It also makes sense that if you have sex more often, you might want to groom to make it better.  Or, if you aren’t having sex, why bother grooming, because it doesn’t make a difference.

Except that it kind of is the only *populated* forum related to cryptocurrency. (Unless you count Bitcoin.SE, which i would say isn't a forum.)

I'm pretty sure OP got banned for these sorts of posts:

Bitcoin (BTC) received another negative assessment from central banks, this time Benoit Kerere from the executive board of the European Central Bank (ECB), calling the original cryptocurrency “an evil offspring of the financial crisis,” reports the Financial Times. That can be found on the network recently. Bitcoin fell and fiat experts immediately started a new wave of hate, do you think bitcoin will recover soon?

This might be a hint. The FT has a paywall. So if the OP is copy-pasting from there we won't find it via Google.

Financial Times wouldn't refer to themselves like that. It's likely from another article quoting FT.
1526  Other / Meta / Re: About the ban. Help me please! on: December 22, 2018, 03:25:45 PM
The reason sounded: "For plagiarism, or spam from the account." There was definitely no plagiarism, all this is personal thoughts about certain events. If this was regarded as spam, then I would like to find a solution.

It says probably banned for plagiarism as that's what most permabans are issued for, but probably is the keyword here. I can't find any reports on you in the report queue but there was a post in the staff forum about spam on the 12th of December and I'm guessing that was what you were banned for seven days for. Maybe contact a Russian mod and see if they can shed any light on it.

I wrote this for a reason: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0

Seems to have mostly worked because these sorts of threads used to happened every day and now I hardly ever see them, but congrats on being the anomaly.
1528  Other / Meta / Re: My account seyola89 permanently banned! on: December 20, 2018, 08:48:10 PM
Plagiarism:

LendsBay Credit ecosystem is a system for trusted financial transactions between people based on transparency and blockchain technology.

Interestingly enough the account below that post is doing the same. An alt perhaps?

Lendsbay is normalising this informal lending market would reduce the risks for lenders and improve the terms for borrowers.

1529  Other / Meta / Re: Craked5 is a hacked account on: December 20, 2018, 03:25:03 PM
Is it possible that the guy got rid of posts where I've put my address? It's strange that I havent posted anywhere... I even participated to the Bitmixer campaign because there was a time where posts in Politics&Society were counted so I could enter the campaign without changing my post habits. Don't know if there is an archive of this though as enrollment was automatic. Maybe Lauda has a file somewhere but I doubt it.

Yes, hackers often remove addresses from posts but admins can restore them. PM theymos and cyrus to see if any of your posts have been removed containing addresses. Lauda probably didn't keep records of payments, but if you can find those addresses maybe they'll help. You can always try googling them to see if they've been indexed or saved on any of the several bitcointalk mirrors.
1530  Other / Meta / Re: Craked5 is a hacked account on: December 20, 2018, 03:00:00 PM
That account should probably be banned for pure shitposts.

You posted a dogecoin addy here:

Can you sign a message from that?

Did you ever send money to this guy:

And I'm asking for you people to stop wasting our time when you know what you did, because it's tedious. If you're so confident put your money where your mouth is. Donate what you think your account is worth to any legit charity of your choosing that accepts bitcoin and post the proof here.

Here's a legit one if you want to use them: https://rnli.org/support-us/give-money/bitcoin-donations

If it's a mistake I'll personally send you your money back and unban your account. Deal?

Not that I want to start pissing off global moderators on my fav forum directly.

However.

1. why not show him the post and put him out of his misery. It also gives confidence there is fair chance of appeal and fair decision as the vast vast majority of appeals have actually demonstrated... which Is a credit to the board.

2. Do you have the power of unban? or just theymos?

3. Are you the same person as hillariousetc?

1) Why ask why they've been banned when they know what it's for. Every day it's the same. They're just hoping we've miraculously screwed up or can't find the evidence but they know what they did. I'm tired of having to waste time searching the report queue, or meta or the staff forum to find out why they've been banned when the answer is usually copy and pasting. In fact, I should be getting paid for my time that I have to waste on this, but let's make it fairer and the money goes to charity if they want to appeal. Many of them play naive but if they were asked to put some money upfront as a bond first they'll soon drop the naivety.

2) Yes, I can unban people. I cannot reinstate accounts that are hacked/lost though.

3) No. Never heard of him.

Have a guess.

Players, ready your bingo cards.
Judging by the number of locks for plagiarism, the reason is plagiarism. But I ask you to point specifically to the post you call plagiarism. Thank you!

Why are you asking a question to which you already know the answer? You know exactly what you did so stop wasting everybody's time hoping that it might be a mistake. It's not.

Oh, what a coincidence:

Firstly, I don't think everyone that comes into crypto should be a blockchain tech person but should be able to understand the basics about the blockchain and trading. Also, if most actually left crypto because of the Bear market then, they didn't actually deserve to be in crypto cos you don't expect the market to always be bullish and while the market go downward, this is some good time for you to invest more in some other crypto you believe to be good. As you said, the bear market is a blessing in disguise only to those that understands that this the time to invest against the coming bull market and you most be prepared to be patient too.

So yes, your "friends" accounts were probably banned for plagiarism.

Well I'm guessing it was probably for copy and pasting, but I can't be sure without knowing the names of the accounts.
1537  Other / Meta / Re: Access to the forum in Vietnam on: December 19, 2018, 02:13:51 PM
What sort of restrictions? You mean their accounts are banned?
1538  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP] Recovering stolen account: signed message on: December 19, 2018, 12:40:45 PM
The account is locked. You'll probably have to wait for the recovery tool that theymos is working on to get it back.
