1521  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Blog - Buy And Sell Bitcoin By Connecting Any U.S. Bank Account on: October 26, 2012, 07:13:18 PM
Great initiative, but I think it will provide greater convenience for botnet operators, who supposedly already have the required info to confirm a bank account, with the gathered info from a victim's computer  Undecided

1523  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: German should recommend your Government buy bitcoin as a reserve on: October 26, 2012, 11:58:30 AM
They want to bring the Gold back to Germany, sell it and then by Bitcoin's with this money. That is what the "Deutsch Bank" told me. Wink

confirmed. they told me the same.

Check your sources, I've been told Bundesbank wants the FED to do that for them, so they can save on shipping the real gold and get bitcoins instead across the Atlantic.
1524  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Ukash and Paysafecard vouchers purchased in Germany? on: October 26, 2012, 11:35:35 AM
Ukash imposed restrictions on German vouchers so they can't be converted to other currencies or redeemed in other European countries, like Spain from where I do business. Here is the ukash announcement link that I have, thanks to one of my customers

http://www.ukash.com/de/de/alerts/waehrungsumwandlung-nicht-moeglich.aspx

Yes, this has made Ukash vouchers purchased here in Germany practically worthless... (Thankfully I live in Berlin, so I don't have to go too far out of my way to obtain Polish vouchers.)

Are you still able to accept Paysafecards purchased in Germany, or do they suffer from the same regulatory problems?

Yes, german paysafecards could suffer the same fate, as currently my provider has some temporary issues dealing with them, so I cannot exchange their vouchers right now. I will see if it can be solved real soon.

You're not required by any law to pay income taxes.

I've reached a point where I respect every word you say in this community, but here you take something for granted and not even question it's legality

That wasn't the claim. Your statement was "you are not required by any law...".  I showed you the law. Wink

Now you can argue the law is unconstitutional and there is some merit to that argument but that is different statement than there not being a law.  Then again I thought the mandate in the HCR law was unconstitutional and the Supreme Court disagreed with me (no they didn't ask my opinion).  Ultimately in our system of government, Congress can do whatever it wants as long as the SCOTUS gives it the constitutional rubber stamp.  At least so far all attempts to avoid, evade, or opt of the income tax system using arguments like the above have failed.  Collectively "tax deniers" have had hundreds of millions of dollars seized with little to show for it.

Your only other remedy is revolution and at that point the constitutionality of the law is kinda a moot point wouldn't you agree?

BTW: I oppose the income tax system but I also understand it exists and the penalties for non-compliance can be severe.

You got point, so there is a law. Now people that comply with it is another issue altogether.

Direct Taxes Under the Constitution: A Review of the Precedents
http://www.taxhistory.org/thp/readings.nsf/ArtWeb/2B34C7FBDA41D9DA8525730800067017?OpenDocument

Let's not forget the "Sixteenth Amendment" was ratified on February 3, 1913, and is the only thing supporting a direct tax on Americans
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

A few months later Federal Reserve Act was enacted, December 23
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Reserve_Act

The rest is history, and here we are arguing about direct taxation and doing the job easier for the "government" and declare our income voluntarily. Of course they would want to know about your every move, but in the end it depends on every person to discern and act accordingly to their values and beliefs.

Why anyone would report anything they do to the IRS is beyond me - they're an illegal outfit themselves aren't they? I certainly wouldn't. But then I don't live in the US...... Grin

IRS, DHS, CIA, FBI, NDAA etc, etc etc........so many criminal organizations with fancy initials you got over there.....

Peace.

Many people havent reported to the IRS for the same reason as you said. MAny of them end up in jail because they dont pay.

BUSTED - OP accidentally used the American conversion rate to bitcoins instead of the UK conversion rate.  OP probably lives in the US.

He claimed he had invested about 1700 pounds in his business, or 150 bitcoins.

150 bitcoins currently equals about $1700 US dollars, but only 1100 pounds!

Too easy.   Smiley

5) 80-90% of YOUR money has drugs residue on them. that is plainly obvious by your drugged paranoia and blatant ignorance of what is wrote. you obviously did not read the answer to the capitol question about MY 150BTC (£1700)...

I feel like I'm a high school student sitting in a 4th grade class.

All of these companies are trying to solve problems that are causes by the problems in the old rails systems.
So essentially, they are just adding layers and middlemen and painting over to create solutions to the problems caused by the crappy monetary and fiscal system we currently have. However, they are not even seeing the inherit problem which is what Bitcoin solves!

Is there a browser that shows active audio on internet tab?

I'm tired of having 10 tabs and all a sudden audio starts playing and have to go on a treasure hunt trying to find where the audio is coming from.

Google Chrome, try with Mute Tab

Interesting, have you tried obfsproxy yet?
You could set-up the exit point on a VPS and then have the traffic disguised as normal http packets with this tool. Btw, you can hide the wifi AP transmitting of the SSID in the configuration, but it will still be visible to any wifi scanning tools and probably taken as rogue a AP.
