1762  Economy / Goods / Re: 1TB New Western Digital Internal Hard Drives - 8.5 BTC + shipping on: September 16, 2012, 12:57:03 AM
Looking to sell brand new factory sealed 1TB hard drives.  Model I have 9 more left, willing to ship anywhere that the USPS ships both internationally and in the United States.  They are selling for 8.5 BTC a piece + shipping.  PM me if you are interested.

I run a technology business (www.agnqtech.com) and I am looking to expand into selling computer hardware for BTC.  PM me if there are other parts you would be interested in buying for BTC.

I would like to get out of here as well.

If you want proof of who I am, you are more than welcome to google my screenname.  You will notice that at my home forum, I am a high level moderator there.  No, I am not here to spam my home forum here, I am here because I would like access to the marketplace.  I saw a seller (via google) selling Borderlands 2 for BTC.  I have some BTC I've been building up, and I would like the chance to use it.  I tried to withdraw it via another website that I was shown to use, and put it as cash into my bank, but that other site...well, the 20+ different forms of ID they require is silly.  So I figured I'd try to find another way to make use of my BTC instead of cashing it in.

Thank you for the chance,
~pio

Welcome, can you make a post or new thread there? With "Bitcoin FTW" in it for example http://www.overclock.net/

I was looking on Google for someone selling Sonic Generations for Bitcoin, and I found a thread on this forum (specifically https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=106491.0), but I can't PM them because I'm still a "newbie". I know about Bitcoin, I found out about it months ago (Late 2011) and made an account here at some point since then, but never used it. I mine Bitcoins with deepbit, I have my Bitcoin client set up and I know the basics of how to use Bitcoin (creating addresses, sending money, receiving money). I mainly want to access the rest of the forum so that I can buy things in the marketplace. I don't have much in the way of "proof", but if you were to Google my username then you would see that I've been a member of many communities and while I'm usually not particularly active, I'm a legitimate user.

Can you tweet something like "Bitcoin FTW"? http://twitter.com/Frogging101

Done.

EDIT: Sorry it took so long, I was away from the computer for a while.

Hope you enjoy being part of the community  Smiley

If bitcoin did gain moderate adoption and the powers that be ...

Stopped reading there, and who that "powers that be" are in reality? Could be people like us which are appointed to do certain tasks by me an you?

1768  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use Coinbase on: September 15, 2012, 11:39:43 AM
They have some problems at the moment. Outgoing transactions are not relayed to the network.

You can make a json export of the transaction, but I don't know of any websites where you can paste the json export. Is there an easy way to convert the json export to a raw transaction we can paste at blockchain.info?

They had that problem for the past month...
1769  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use Coinbase on: September 15, 2012, 10:56:29 AM
Ok... I guess maybe there are some people who have good experiences with Coinbase, but I seriously wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

First the only reason I joined was the bonus program... And the only reason 90% people joined is the promised 0.01 bonus that you can withdraw any time. Now you can see many complains on their support site from people who did everything and just didn't receive the bonus. An example:
http://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/questions/455288-no-bonus-bitcoin

I think the goal of this kind of website would be flexibility, credibility and instant payments. Fast and simple money transfers are the point of Bitcoin.

On coinbase any transaction you make, stays "Pending". They say for an hour, but that is not completly true. After waiting for few hours people will just lose their patience. Very interesting thing happened to me: yesterday I sent some amount to my local wallet. Today when I woke up I checked and money did not arive, and the "Pending" transaction on coinbase was just gone and the money was still in my coinbase wallet. Like I never sent it. When I get this 3BTC out of there I'll never use coinbase again.

So again: I don't recomment using Coinbase at all.

Same thing happened to me but with only 1 btc, wish they tested the thing on the bitcoin testnet before launching to public. I think will stick with blockchain.info wallet

I agree to pay 3.1 BTC for a 1Oz sunshine mint .999 Fine Silver bullion bar to Bitcool. Bitcool has agreed to ship first, and the 3.1 BTC payment is to be sent immediately after receiving the bar.

Short, simple, and no MNW clauses in there.
read and agreed. Receiving btc address will be sent to you via PM.

This can be interesting for taking some advices Smiley

Interesting article and eye opener at the same time, thanks for sharing.

Will have to see if Rugatu happens to fall onto the same pattern, given it lacks the social network feature Quora has, and its main incentive is economic. Experimenting based on another one, which is bitcoin.
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin -> MasterCard (or any credit card)... who cares? on: September 13, 2012, 10:12:42 PM
Anywhere with Canadian support?
I would love to be able to fund prepaid credit with bitcoin

Would you be willing to sign-up with a service that already provides this?

1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is going to succeed, ... on: September 13, 2012, 05:08:23 PM

i first saw that video on Trace Mayers site RunToGold.  as i've said before, he played a significant part in making me first invest in gold and silver back in 2005.  i love that video.

I thought the vid was rather dopey to be honest.  The tone of the narrator made me want to puke, and I've always felt like dancing makes it appear that a person has some sort of neurological disorder.  Bah, humbug I guess.  My nature is to turn in the opposite direction of any crowd and keep going so such a situation as demonstrated, however illustrative it might have been, was bound to induce a negative reaction in me.

btw, i also enjoy Stephen's posts.

I as well.

Don't feel bad; it just means that you are the lone nut :-)  Hey, somebody's gotta do it!  Grin

I really enjoyed that video Stephen Smiley and have to agree this community needs leaders easy to follow
