or the Doge Road logo, that one is funny as hell Cheesy

What's funny about the dogelogo? It's just the doge meme with a crappy font over it.

wow. such cliche. much annoyance.

 Grin

Ha, that doesn't surprise me. I guess that was got before the coin?
15202  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anonymous exchange of cash. on: February 09, 2014, 01:22:53 PM

If you want to buy btc the following method could be used:
---
1. You gather the amount you want to use in USD, let's say 1000 USD. You put this in an envelope, and then put it somewhere hidden, let's say in a hole in a three in a park, or beneath a garbage bin behind a cinema. Just use the imagination, and put it where the probability of someone finding it is low. It could also be rolled up, or camouflaged in some other way. The point is that you leave the cash somewhere, and that you can give complete specific instructions as to where to find it, you might even be able to observe from a distance and verify that the cash are actually received by the person you're trading with.

After the cash is retrieved, it will be counted by the btc seller, and the btc-seller will send the btc to the designated address and the trade is completed.

You delivered the cash anonymously, the seller does not know who you are or what you look like. The point here is the randomness of how the cash is delivered in the first place. There can be no stakeout, because there's no fixed meeting point.

I don't know what you've been smoking or whether your trolling,  but what's to stop the BTC seller just taking the cash and running?

Somebody else got this exact one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=455097.0

Except Karpeles doesn't exactly look like that.

How much for shipping to poland?

I might make some orders.

I was gonna suggest adding it to your cart and seeing how much shipping was, but the cart doesn't seem to be updating. Just keeps saying nothing to see here.
15206  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggest me a book! on: February 09, 2014, 12:47:25 PM
I would gladly recommend Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Great finance guru. As well as building up your portfolio and savings. - Well it's in fiat but concepts are still applicable to cryptocurrency.
Thanks for this recommendation.  I have read this book a few years ago and it was helpful when starting up my second business.

Anyone else have some recommendation.  Doesn't have to be related to cryptography.
Thanks

Recent book recommendation thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=441362.0

Not any Bitcoin/cryptography-based stuff though.
15207  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.8BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: February 09, 2014, 12:41:59 PM
Hey where is the breakdown of the monthly post counts and payment amounts? I thought it was in the OP, but i dont see it anymore
It was changed to a simple 0.0002BTC per post. Smiley

That requires a lot of posts. Has anyone ever gotten the 0.8 in one month? You would have to be posting all day long for the whole month

The 0.8 max was upped for this term. Previous max payout was 0.4 for 1200 posts I think, and a few people achieved that.
15208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep Calm And Switch on: February 09, 2014, 12:13:57 PM
I don't get why, for some people, Apple is such an important part of life, that they dwell upon their blockchain removal for days.  Huh

How long should people dwell on it? I guess it's bound to be a hot-topic around here, plus I think there's a lot of probably justified Apple haters.

But saying that, do we really need another one of these threads?
15209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time for a Bitcoin hodlday... on: February 09, 2014, 12:10:13 PM
If Bitcoin has taken over your life and it's negatively effecting you, then just take a break. If you are infact holding/hodling your coins then it doesn't really matter and you don't need to stress over the price.

what is this new hodl craze?

if you cant spell 'hold' please don't try turning it into a craze where others end up following.
the reason i think its a failed craze to start, is firstly you don't hold bitcoin as its not physical. you can:
possess
own
control
hoard

so the hodl word which i have seen over a dozen people now use in the last 48 hours, is a total failure

It's a joke/meme. I think you need to learn to learn to not take things so seriously. And you can hold lots of things that aren't physical, like an opinion.

15210  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Cocks on: February 09, 2014, 11:59:01 AM
Not sure if you all have checked their twitter account it looks like Mt.Cocks is in its death throws.....want to watch a company die?

https://twitter.com/MtGox
Mt Gox has been in its death throes since 2011, yet somehow it manages to stick around.

It has continually baffled me how it's managed to even stay in business. Never heard anyone have a good experience with them.

They are probably half way to the bahamas right now.   Does anyone know where the higher ups from Mt Gox are from.  Not that race has anything to do with it, but Japanese people are typically people of honor, and would never screw clients out of money.

That's a bit of a mas generalisation, but Mark Karpeles is their CEO, but they're owned by a Japanese company. Whether it's owned by actual Japanese people I do not know.

15211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: amir taaki on bbc :( on: February 09, 2014, 11:53:12 AM
It's just ridiculous that some people waste time worrying about what other people are wearing, it seems that they are locked inside this tiny box being tought worthless values. When I see a bunch of people going to work in suits, I picture a bunch of sheeps.

He can wear what he wants or go dressed like a drug-addled tramp, just as long as he doesn't come off as one. It's not how he looks or what he wears but the the way he acts and the content of his words. If you had no idea what Bitcoin was, you still wouldn't after watching that and the few other videos of him I've seen.
15212  Other / Off-topic / Re: 11 year old attempts suicide after bullying over my little pony :-( on: February 08, 2014, 07:59:54 PM
No there doesn't, compulsory education needs to be abolished and clear self-defence laws made >_<
This might be the stupidest thing I've read in a long time

You could explain that maybe? Smiley And lol I hope you guys have actually tried reading the self-defence laws out there but if I go into detail with that I'll derail this whole thread.

You can always start a new one.
15213  Economy / Economics / Re: eBay UK to Allow Sale of Virtual Currency from 10th February on: February 08, 2014, 07:36:23 PM
As a buyer you still have the sellers Feedback score to go on with the Classified ads though - that has to be a big bonus.

It's not really the buyers that need to be worried but the sellers. Buyers should still be covered by paypal if anything goes wrong.
15214  Other / Off-topic / Re: Iraq vet shot by police at occupy Oakland on: February 08, 2014, 07:32:29 PM

Why was there any need to use any sort of grenades?
Yeah that is the question. People have the right to protest whenever they want. If they weren't violent police had no right to use force. I heard, unlike in the communist countries, you actually have some rights in the USA, but it appears you can be killed for showing discontent.

Yeah, I don't get it. Those type of weapons should be used as a last resort and only if things are turning violent. This just seems like a bunch of dick cops looking for an excuse to start firing shit.

TAT - Pessimist

Wow do people know this band? Or do people actually listen to recommendations on this thread?
Anyway it makes me happy that people are listening to this band, iv been a fan for a long time now and they should get alot more recognition for their work, heres another song,

Champagne, Cocaine And Strawberries:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf-8JASmz7s

He's probably a spambot just copy and pasting responses from this thread. There was another bot a week or so ago who copied that exact song.

Are Tat still actually going? Was never a big fan but they used to play their videos a lot on Kerrang back in the day.

Awwwh dammit that probs is what happened Sad I saw the other post aswell *sigh* so much spam
And yeah they are still going, mostly just seem to play in america now but in the 10+ years they've been going they have only had one full album =/ still amazing tho imo
And did they get alot of Kerrang play back then? Thats good, I never saw them on it, the only time I saw them on tv was on the xtream sports channel when they hosted a wakingboarding fest (i think) years ago, that was the first ever time heard of them and never saw them on tv since

Yeah, I'm a big fan....

I think it was either Kerrang or Scuzz or some other rock channel. Although I think I might be getting them mixed up with another similar band called The Fight who were out at the same time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThB6UQC32K8

Ah yeah it could be The Fight (I have that album lol), think I discovered them on one of those channels, not as good as TAt though Tongue

I used to flick through those channels all the time to find new music and occasionally there'd be some gems. I wasn't a big fan of either bands but they played their videos quite a bit.
15216  Other / Off-topic / Re: Destroying apple phones. on: February 08, 2014, 07:27:36 PM
There is no point in destroying Apple phones. You will not gain anything from it. Use your brain.

Here is the idea: Sell them. And use the money which is earned from those sales to advertise against Apple.

This, exactly. I would simply sell my products (if I were so inclined) and buy BTC with it or something.
Same here, when you destroy something you paid fore you're hurting yourself. He could've just taken bills and cut them with that machete, same effect. It reminds me of those muslim fanatics burning flags of countries they don't like and posting it online.

Maybe they stole the flags? Or buy them in bulk so they're very cheap  Grin.
15217  Other / Off-topic / Re: Child pornography is evidence of a crime on: February 08, 2014, 07:26:41 PM
What I am getting at is that things like the Tor network and a DNS system that is based on bitcoin will make things like child pornography impossible to stop. "think of the children" is one of the things often said in going after certain technologies. Child pornography should be illegal and the makers of it and anyone who profits from it should be pursued and brought to justice... but the pictures themselves are evidence of a crime.

The way you make your argument makes it look like you're defending child porn. It's always gonna be impossible to stop, but people who try to shut down technologies because they can be used for illegal means are just being pretty ignorant and are not solving anything. Do we ban digital cameras and the postal service and paper money when they're involved in the making and distribution of child porn too?

Child Pornography is made to stimulate and profit from paedophiles. Pictures of murder scenes aren't, but I'm not exactly sure what your point is here.
