1541  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 12, 2023, 04:05:07 AM
We're just on the tipping point between sideways confusion back and forth and actually acting negatively.  There is both a negative regular price move downwards on daily bars but also now a close below a long term average the 200 week.   If this week doesnt alter those movement with some positivity to muddy that negative tone then it might develop into a proper trend not just a suggestion or speculation of one.   I presume sideways but June could move down properly perhaps, break the repetitive range of prices thats been in the wash since March just going around again and again.
1542  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: June 11, 2023, 11:59:11 PM
This idea should be viewed like stepping onto an untethered boat from dry ground, you can easily find the boat moves and you end up in the river as the situation is not static.   The reason the trade goes wrong is for fundamental reasons, we have two asset types with varying dynamics to their peak and lowest prices; this difference can bankrupt you.    You could remain correct to be bullish on BTC but end up in trouble anyway as the price is varying so much and they will call in loan if a security is not paid or made up on the daily basis not the final price you had anticipated.
This mistake happens every day in finance, there alot of amazing assets very profitable out there that people borrow to invest in and it can go wrong from lack of foresight or experience basically.   Dont feel bad in the mistake as people who won the Nobel prize for economics have also failed in this way before, to the tune of billions lost (potentially) it occured end of the 90's but the mistake is timeless.
1543  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: June 11, 2023, 11:47:42 PM
Arguably we have stopped rising with the loss of the 50 day average and now a weekly bar closing below the 200 week average it could be said to be seriously challenged.   We may be at a standstill if not a proper decline over more then just the short term.   I'm waiting for it to play out but we're seconds away from the daily and weekly close for those bars and we remain below about 26.3k for the longest term estimation of BTC momentum the 200 week.   So very challenged and not near to a rise currently, unfortunately quite clearly the case.

According to Travis Brown, there were 444,435 paying Twitter Blue subscribers by end of March 2023. That is around $42 million per year.

Reminds me of a little study I did years ago on Newspaper advertising, after all these years the same rule of commerce over consumer direct revenue would seem to apply to even the cutting edge tech development.
Adverts are king, nice he got some revenue but this ship sails or sinks on its ability to integrate advertising profitably.  They thought the same of Facebook at one time, on IPO it halved in value on doubts any mobile usage could work out but it was not well founded.  If Twitter has users it should be ok longer term in much the same way, equity values arent hard ground to judge actual viability on.
1545  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: June 11, 2023, 10:44:42 PM
Throwing marbles in a game is gambling, coins against a wall is gambling also even if its just expired coins used.   We used to play cartoon card games where you lose the card if you lose the game, again no money but the card has a value of some kind from almost zero but tiny amount to much more maybe a months wages in equivalence so that too is gambling.

A few times we can say the tokens only have worth because of the gambling game, its a chicken and egg scenario.
Theres no way to shut down gambling only be obstructive in some way but people will bet on camels if they want to and win or lose coconuts its a human right to do so imo but not everywhere.
1546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: June 11, 2023, 07:07:25 PM
There is some ban for advertising or sponsorship of football teams being rolled in which might promote this alternate field of esports with even more sponsorship, can only be a good thing for teams and the health of the leagues overall I think.
Heroic vs Vitality about to start, Imperial beat Vitality but I dont know that means anything more then Imperial will always be a threat to any team with Fallen's guidance.  I will just go with the simple idea of 3 maps occurring in this matchup.

Its possible there alot of fear in the market for anything non BTC related and that would help to bring down the FUN token price.   If thats a reasonable premise and it doesnt have to be true just thought to be true then it seems best to scale into any position.    I dont mind adding here but I'll do it over some time not all at once, I think I have that advantage of being able to do that so I will. #   Also if I do go up a tier at present, it doesnt really help me especially till like half a year from now so no rush for me.   Some will have it differently, also it makes it an easy decision to lock at present I wouldnt want to sell here so no need for a shorter term lock as I might have done at other points with any excess holdings etc.
1548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto experienced bloodshed on: June 10, 2023, 11:41:09 PM
Deflationary events in the fleshy parts of crypto is not new, this is dollar based regulation which is a regular point of 'interest' over many years.  Central banks arent in conflict exactly but if people step on their turf they will frequently clip the wings of any entity using dollars I think thats not just a crypto thing its anywhere anyone that falls into the targets.  Its obviously important because the dollar is a behemoth in anything finance related but its not new thats governments cast a long shadow over anything within their reach, I only wonder about non dollar stuff some places its a question is anyone allowed to do anything not beneficial to a central entity.   All kinds of tremors are going to occur if a large amount of change occurs, so disruption cant be too unexpected imo.
1549  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chat GPT do a TA about bitcoin on: June 10, 2023, 10:42:44 PM
Automation efficiency can be exceeded by a bot over a human but not conclusions formed, the bot is just searching for answers to similar questions to the one you asked.   When it finds relevant information which is a useful task it will format and present that to you but its made quite clear its just a reformulating the search data afaik.
Theres no comparison between the person and AI to me, the person is aware of the knowledge its collating far more then the AI which is doing a good job to categorize in various ways so thats everything is related.  The conclusion is really still left to the person and often it wont be an immediate logical answer given but hopeful of some help in the pure data presented easily and while in a background window especially this kind of multi tasking is always going to be useful as a tool.
Its good they have give some autonomy to the computer to decide no your question is not correct, here I have found a direct contradiction that proves the answer is no.  Thats useful but it has to be quite clear and plainly obvious for the AI to be answering fully yes or no I have found.  It can be a learning aid I think, really awful when used to prove an essay answer etc.  it would reflect badly on the student.
1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 10, 2023, 05:16:15 PM
Its usually the money which is a problem.   Allocate a set amount for playing the game, stop telling yourself anything about winning back money lost.  Its a game not work and not there for earning money like a job.  Just separate those two events in your life, a job can earn money a game will not.   Part of the game is winning some  money maybe but you need to literally write down that fallacy and then cross it out, once you recognize its a spending event for entertainment I think its alot easier to handle any addiction.
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 09, 2023, 11:59:00 PM
Snopes declared this a false news report, Sweden has not declared this so I doubt any bets will placed on anything especially unreliable.     Guinness world records stopped recording anything where the participants could suffer injury especially so I would extend that logic to the idea of this as a sport.   Its still possible it could cause unexpected consequences not just the obvious, I think its really unlikely to anything regular for betting purposes.
1552  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: June 09, 2023, 11:51:15 PM
FTX back in operation (properly) is a good thing if it can manage to do so sensibly.  Whats more surprising is they dont change their name, the brand name apparently is worth something still in recognition and that is probably unique to crypto.  Anywhere else in business, the accounts and standing business left in FTX would be absorbed into another company.   JPMorgan just recently took over another bank and presumably they will cease the use of that former banks name etc.
I think its a positive because its what would normally happen with any business, you dont throw it away anymore then you have to.   Thats a positive going forward because it encourages investment to reduce the losses from prior attempts to invest in this space.   The fact they were not BTC based but other blockchains and so people disapprove of that, thats a separate line of criticism.  Many wont separate crypto generally from BTC its all the same sector to them, I think in terms of innovation to address the public thats generally how I would view things too.
1553  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your bitcoin May/June price analysis? on: June 09, 2023, 11:09:02 PM
Spotting a trend on daily bars to observe in continuation or hopefully a break back upwards at some point.

We can see the price range since March bullish action was mostly 27k or above.  Recently, we have failed below that, keeping it as a rough ceiling to price action apart from a few days end of last month.   That will be price level to beat for a switch back to positive action and a hopeful a break of this negative price channel, also the 50 day average in blue is about that area so a couple of reasons to maintain above would likely reflect positively.
1554  Economy / Economics / Re: Dedollarisation fails before starting, Russia and India halt rupee trade on: June 09, 2023, 10:44:17 PM
Its not new, that idea of cross trade excluding Dollar could be said to go back to the 1980's if you wanted.  The idea back then was silver backing trade in some avoidance of the Dollar losses to inflation at that time, it worked till it didnt and the silver price collapsed.  Before that Charles De Gaulle the general from WW2 and also leader of France till 1959 complained about the Dollar failing and demanded as was his right at that time gold instead so that was only about a decade after the global reserve system had first formed post war.   Its been limping for a while with many objectors especially recently because its decline is accelerating if anything.
Dollar has the most liquidity, its the most widely accepted for the greatest variety of goods, I will even take some dollars if you want  Cool.   If Russia has too many Rupees I wonder why they cannot find things to buy in exchange for that money, its a big country but I guess its possible they already have a source for everything India might offer hence the trade exchange is jammed and not liquid.  Also a false exchange rate will create this problem anywhere as markets must be free and able to settle prices for deals as they wish or they are obstructed and society becomes poorer for it.
To this day France and a couple other countries retain large amounts of gold because Dollar wont last forever.  China is one of them starting this century with no gold its been the biggest buyer and producer for a long time.  However gold is harder to transport and so possibly less liquid then dollar or a number of alternatives in terms of settling trade regularly especially under any imbalance.
1555  Economy / Services / Re: 🟣 Twitch Subscription Gifting 1 SUB = 1$ 🎁 Fast Delivery on: June 09, 2023, 09:57:22 PM
Prices in Turkey and Argentina are both unbelievable.   Could you supply gifted steam games also possibly or is that barred trade, can I add you on steam for future maybe?  I often have people in a rush buying games together for multiplayer and theres always one person who doesnt have the full price available to spend which spoils the evening schedule etc.    The massive gap between countries for the same exact product has to be some kind of opportunity but also I doubt its too easy exactly because its so obvious.

A sub is for 1 month, I think thats not too risky a purchase and alot of games are variable in price and next Steam sale is this month I think.
1556  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: June 08, 2023, 11:56:08 PM
Debt default is bad for everyone, a bad event happening to a neighbour is still a bad thing overall for everyone in that neighbourhood.  There isnt too many circumstances that people can suffer to that extent that somehow leaves your outlook sunny and better off, it will effect everyone.   Thats how I view an economy, a reflection of society not separate or isolated.   The main thing to note is the ongoing debt situation is already a negative, its already distorting free markets with this overshadowing effect from central government and endless new money printing to serve that debt above all others.
Crypto is really in that comparison about mitigating a negative, clawing back the losses from the abyss by avoiding leaning on something you know is rotten and soft ready to fall over.   Who wants to put all their weight onto something already known as a negative, people naturally want to distance themselves from that potential loss and the already ongoing loss hence crypto has its uses in many ways but I dont think it can possibly perfectly counter act and save the day largely because many arent involved.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: June 08, 2023, 09:43:52 PM
Hit the jackpot and stop is more sensible then alot of plans and at least it is a plan.  I think the worst actions would be completely unplanned, unscripted and not remembered even.  At least you can learn from events you remember clearly, its all just reactionary then nothing is learnt just repeated.  The worst mistakes are repeated, always try to gain something even in loss that can be valuable I have found thats small but some consolation.
1558  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: June 08, 2023, 09:34:13 PM
Go on time more then price if anything.  The price can vary within a range (box) of prices for various almost random reasons positive and negative and we bounce around in that box for a certain amount of time like popcorn cooking.   Until we gain the energy to leave the box its not actually so interesting and its more related to time then price or even the news events.
How long we been cooking, are we ready to serve or enter the final stage before its good to eat Tongue   I think the finest meals arent rushed, buy a little over time regularly is the best advice & nothing wrong with buying today imo.
1559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: June 07, 2023, 11:59:22 PM

Bitcoin heading to the $40k range is not happening anytime soon.

It can happen, never say never because we all know BTC can move like a locomotive with good momentum.   However right now we have to say BTC and crypto in general is lacking that kind of inertia to break down any barriers to higher prices.   Theres no threat higher and imo I dont really expect much lower either, the support from prior highs is likely enough to keep us in this area for a while.
Overall the market may be more stagnant over the months till we reach the end year quarter where traditionally markets can be more active.   There are expectation that various central banks will transition policy to develop into better trading opportunities till then its all speculation which means sideways in sum total is the most likely path for now.

the Chinese government strictly implements the bans, their people still quietly use cryptocurrencies and even still mine bitcoins.

Their whole society is like that, Russia also.  You cant stop people doing what will work for them, a nation shouldn't even try to do this yet this is the basis of dictatorships a weakness not a strength.   Of course it will carry on the country is gigantic and wherever else is similar the world and nations generally are strong from their people not vice versa.    China banned BTC and the price doubled as I remember it in 2017.    Similarly now apparent negatives are headlines not necessarily actual ongoing impairments to BTC itself.
