1544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merged Mining Question: BTC & NMC on: March 26, 2013, 03:55:15 PM
Zif you are wrong.

You can mine btc AND nmc. And no you won't lose hashes, merged mining produce exactly the same btc than normal mining. It just also use the same hash for nmc  Smiley

Can I point my current BTC setup through cgminer at the BTC Guild Shared Pool then, without needing to configure anything special for NMC?

And without hash loss... I like it. Thanks Gabi.
Yeah. That's how most pool work. The merged mining is done on the pool side, not on the miner side, you just mine and gain BTC and NMC. No hash loss of course.

1560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC power in a graphics card on: March 23, 2013, 05:14:39 PM
It is not BONIC, it is BOINC

He is speaking about distributed computing for science research.

BOINC https://boinc.berkeley.edu/ it let you crunch work units from projects like World Community Grid https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/

FAH is Folding@Home http://folding.stanford.edu/ Oh and no, FAH does not use BOINC. Why? No idea.

Someone understand what he is saying? Is he speaking about optimization? Well, i suppose ASIC blueprints were optimized in a decent way before starting to make chips  Cheesy And there is  no way a graphic card will crunch like an ASIC, a 1300$ ASIC is like 150 ati cards
