1541  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Accepting BTC for NYSE NASDAQ AMEX Equity Stock Trading on: February 07, 2013, 11:40:26 AM
I like the OP of MPOEs Bitcoin business topic, but I wasn't expecting anyone to follow it! Thanks for your great introduction.
I almost feel bad that I'm not into trading on traditional exchanges.

MPOE put in effort in that post.  We heed his words.

Just wondering but do you really have any thing to backup that your real and wont steal our money?

Also do you plan to lower the limit for BTC? I was thinking about putting some inbut 500$ worth is quite a large sum for just some random site

Your first question does not have an easy answer because it is true, we are at this point just a random site.  I believe a good way to satisfy your uncertainty would be to apply what you have suggested: start with a lower threshold for BTC funded accounts.  Let's give this a try at $100.  Seems like a nice round number.

Are funds kept in Bitcoin denomination (as profits and loses) or do you just convert to BTC to fiat? Not really an advantage if so.

Yeah, no stock will outperform Bitcoin.

Since BTC is relatively new.  Funds are not kept in BTC denomination.  Our back office technology does not support BTC currency at the moment.

Are funds kept in Bitcoin denomination (as profits and loses) or do you just convert to BTC to fiat? Not really an advantage if so.

Yeah, no stock will outperform Bitcoin.

I think you miss the point, this is actually a huge advantage because you can diversify money you make with Bitcoin into stocks without having to go through an exchange, then a bank account.

OP, will you be converting BTC to fiat?

Also, will we be able to withdraw in BTC?

What's minimum account size?

Awesome, we see eye-to-eye on this.  We believe an integration with BTC can be a great channel for users to diversify their BTC into: Stocks, Commodity Stocks. ETF's, Currency Shares.  The advantage would be: less hands involved in the whole process.  Basically, exactly what Luceo said.

Based on the market rate, we can convert BTC to USD and we can allow users to withdrawal their USD back to BTC.

By popular demand, $100 USD is now the minimum account size

I think you miss the point,

If the point is having your shit tied to fiat money, then yeah, I am missing it.

Or if you just have way too much BTC it would be a good way to hedge yourself against a falling BTC, not that I am saying BTC will fall, but its always good to spread your risk.
okay cool 100$ ill probally sign up and start tonight. On a side note for deposits/withdrawls are they instant or nearly instant? For example If i deposited lets say 10BTC today and bought lets say google stock and it went up could i sell tommarow or even the same day and withdraw to BTC?

Also do 100$ for acccount mean that the account must always have 100$ or just to start you need 100$ in it

Luceo if you check the site minium account size is 500$ but it also says a normal US $ account minium is higher
"Limited time offer for BTC users……Start trading with as little as $500 USD…. our non-BTC clients typically start with $2500-$5000 USD"

1546  Economy / Services / Bulk Bitcoin Buyers/Sellers Matchmaking on: February 03, 2013, 01:19:15 PM
Hello, So for awhile now I have been matching buyers and sellers together to sell/buy bitcoins in bulk*. As I get more buyers I need more sellers and visa versa so I am posting here to hopefully find some more people. I am looking for people who will buy/sell often(once a month or more) versus just selling 10,000BTC just once. All bitcoins bought or sold will be traded using only non-reversible methods. For example, Liberty Reserve and bank wire***. Right now everything is handled by me over email,Skype,IRC, and bitcointalk Pm's but I may eventually put up a site. I will advertise all trades on a Freenode IRC channel and if you are interested you will PM me.

To start using the service either PM me on IRC or bitcointalk with the following info and I will then tell you the IRC channel
Name:
Email:
IRC Handle**:
Type of trades: BTC Buyer|BTC Seller|BOTH
Typical Amount in BTC:
Typical Rate: for example mtgoxlast - 5%
Frequency:Once a week|Once every 2 weeks|Once a month

My IRC Handle is starsoccer
*Bulk orders are for 2k or 100BTC and up per transaction.(This may raise if there is a big demand)
**Must be nickserver registered(if you dont know how i can help you do it)
***All Fiat Currency is sent first while I hold all BTC funds in escrow

1548  Economy / Services / Re: PAY FOR INFORMATION - 600 BTC REWARD FOR IDENTITY OF HACKER on: January 27, 2013, 04:00:43 PM
I would just like to claify the following things for a few people, the 600 btc reward isnt a 1 person reward it is a multi person reward given to the most helpful hints. The 600 BTC are also not given to anyone until the scammer is taken to court and looses. Weather he pays or not does not affect the reward. As far as the most helpful hints go, currently as per my talk with mralbi, danny and maceij(yes the bitmarket owner who stole/lost users bitcoins). Also As far as escrow goes it is not an option. i would recommend it as after speaking with mralbi his story changed multiple times but this seems the be the final view of how everything will go.

This isnt meant to rip mralbi just clarify what he conveniently seems to leave out as after i contacted him willing to provide him with info and link the people and he basically quickly changed how the reward went multiple times.
1549  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox API on: January 26, 2013, 03:11:20 AM
I am so happy someone brought this up. It pisses me off that certain sites for example like mtgox, clarkmoody, or even bitcoinity cant handle large request of people using there site. They only have one job todo which is to make sure there service works. Personally I dont blame clarkmoody and bitcoinity as for one they both are free to use and dont really have any income to upgrade there servers and second is that they use mtgox's api.Mtgox makes millions im quite sure, so youd think they could afford to upgrade there servers to support more capicty.Instead they sit on a high chair and dont quite care what happens

1552  Economy / Services / [SEEKING]Developer to program Game on: January 20, 2013, 07:20:19 PM
Hello, I am seeking a developer to program a game for me. The game is tron inspired, if you dont know what tron is basically the game is dodgeball with frisbees or boomarangs. I dont really have a preference as far as what lanague it is made in. It would be a plus tho if you could make it for xbox as well as pc. I will go into more detail over email or skype.

Payment will either bye a percentage of the profit from the game or it will be put in escrow until project is completed.

1557  Bitcoin / Project Development / New way of mining(Looking for partner/investors) on: December 27, 2012, 02:01:11 AM
Hi, so with the recent splitting of the reward mining is slowly becoming less profitable. Then with Asics coming out soon people who mine on computers are gonna be making nearly nothing. So I  thought about it for a while and realized another way that one could make money in a pool. The basic idea is to offer distributed computing to users and companies. You could rent out a portion of the grid or the whole thing. Then when no work is avalible for your computer it will revert to mining until more work is avalible. Yes it isnt a totally new type of mining but it could increase the profit of gpu/cpu miners.

Right Now I have talked to a few people about the idea but it is quite costly to program the whole the thing and the site, and not knowing how to program my only option is to really hire someone to make it well. If your interested in helping and becoming a partner or investing feel free to PM me.

I will make a donation if you can change the app so it does the following

Instead of using abe(or with abe), also try to use bitcoin-qt blocks to check
Save all Privite Keys with balance to .txt file in selectable location
Make the program runable in the background like a bitcoin client
