Litecoin use a different algorithm for mining, not the one Bitcoin use.
Oh and cpu mining is wasted time and energy

4 days to get the blockchain? I suppose you are not using the bitcoin client version 0.8.1, am i right? Also, there is a way to throttle it and tell it to not use more than some bandwidth, but i dunno how About lightweight clients, try Multibit or Electrum

Once a hard fork happen, it is totally unrelated with the old chain
I just wanted to clarify for new users that if you fork an already existing chain (as opposed to starting from scratch like litecoin), the history of both chains will be exactly the same, but they will diverge from the point of the fork forward. In other words, if you have pre-fork coins, your coins will exist on both chains. As Gabi said, those coins will only be useable on their respective chain. Yup. And the new chain will NOT need 100% or 51% to be used. It will become Bitcoin2, unrelated from Bitcoin

Small request:
On the "Choose Your Wallet" page, put the name of each client underneath each icon.
It is annoying to hover the mouse over each icon, just to find the names.
Definitely this! At first i tought they were just icons, i was like "nice, and where are the links?" Put the name of the clients, their description and the link in the page, without having to hover the squares. Omg, i just noticed that the squares with the ? aren't "new, still to unveil clients" but warnings, important warnings. Nonono, not good, why are they so hidden? And well, fix the problem grue reported, the three squares going outside the white background. Is it intentional? Well anyone looking at that page will think "oh look they misplaced the three buttons, they go outside the white background

Oh yeah, and the whole "change" thing i wasnt aware of 'til now. That will be a big stumbling block for newcomers i think. Will there ever be a time where security advances to the point where 1 address can be used constantly to receive and send bitcoins ?
It is already doable, but the bitcoin-qt client and some other don't have an option to do that Some clients allow that.

This 100 or 51% thing is wrong in case of a hard fork. Hard fork=bitcoin and litecoin. Do litecoin need 100 or 51% or something to work? Nah Yes but you wouldn't be able to be the longest chain And? The forked chain is no more the original chain, it is something totally different, like the litecoin chain. Once a hard fork happen, it is totally unrelated with the old chain

Yeah blockchain.info is pretty good, I actually was looking for something similar but as a software and not as a web application
I've been pretty happy with the blockchain.info web application. As far as I can tell it is just about as secure as Electrum and MultiBit. Only if you backup the wallet!

Bitcoin is still a very small currency, it fluctuate a lot and of course it is easier to compare it with another one wich everyone know. Once it will become worldwide, it will be much more stabler huge decimals 0.00352 can easily become 3.52 I don't see the problem. Open your bitcoin client, setting->options->show, you can set it to show your bitcoin total in mBTC or uBTC. See? Problem already solved

Wouldn't it be possible to argue (lawyer to lawyer) that sending bitcoins to the app editor cannot be considered as a "payment", since it does not involve "money" ?
Apple or Google TOS aren't the law, they can change them and do what they want
