So what do I have to delete in .bitcoin to get the latest release to work?
Not sure if this is mentioned, but if you need to preserve coins, could you not send them temporarily to another wallet, then delete everything from the old version, then download the new binaries ? After blockchain is synched, move the coins back to the new wallet ? You really didn't read anything in this thread, did you? ignore function ftw

just found out the scrypt cgminer crash, if compiled with -O2 the optimations lets it segfault, with -g it works fine. gonna send u the core + binary per PN.

Im looking for a download link to 0.35 ufasoft miner. Any chance anyone still has the files on their computer?
It looks like the latest one I have is .19. Have you checked with killer or ufasoft? Try posting in the ufasoft miner thread. Sam Thanks for the suggestion. I tried contactinf ufasoft, but he said he will not give me the older version of 0.35 because of coder ethics. Which I do respect, but I will continue looking for the version on my own. may i ask u why it has to be exactly 0.35?

It works for me.
Ah, it supports the raw plus sign but throws up when quotes and spaces are involved. I guess this issue is closed. Regardless, it seems like a terrible idea to verify email addresses. If this is to prevent SQL injection, I'm sure there are many other ways to do it. Hmm? Email address can have spaces? I'm not an expert on this, but AFAIK anything before the @ is good as long as @, ", and \ are backslash-escaped and spaces are between quotes. However, it is extremely rare for email addresses to have @ or \ in them. "John Doe"@john.doe.com is a valid email address format though, so it makes little sense to reject it. no, this is against the RFC

I still have an -addnode in place for you, maybe if you stop and restart your daemon this time I will connect?
As when I used -connect to connect a spare copy it was doing the dropping of the connection over and over until I restarted my main node (the one it was trying to -connect to) whereupon it did manage to connect and update its blockchain.
Did both you other people already have a blockchain? Maybe one that was already up to that last-year checkpoint? Or did someone manage to start from scratch and still get caught up?
I have three active connections at the moment.
-MarkM-
i got 3 connections, almost synced

I connect, send you a version message, then disconnect.
same for all other nodes i connect to, as soon as im at the checkpoint-1

could this be the problem? im stuck, cant find a public node which isnt faulty. care to add me? <edited out, send by PM>
Okay, I have restarted with your node added. -MarkM- seems like the newest bbqcoind from ur site seems bugged, every node fails at the checkpoint, so i think its mine. which one r u using?

Looks like someone started mining way back in the past, that checkpoint is from way back last year, current block number now is 283878

well, syncing is hard. alot of ppl send only orphan blocks or even worse: received block 5bb676c3ea2d9cdc2589 ERROR: AcceptBlock() : rejected by checkpoint lockin at 86425 ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED disconnecting node 173.70.3.38:51833 Disconnected 173.70.3.38:51833 for misbehavior (score=100) LOL

Actually some machines have firewalls on the machine itself too, so as well as checking router there can also be a need to to check the machine's own firewall o allow connections to the port.
Trying to find out the port number is getting annoying, in most coins I just grep for "fTestNet" and find a C oneliner conditional statement of the x ? a : b form that checks fTestNet and sets one port number or another. For some reason I am not finding that or equivalent in BBQcode so far.
I did getnewaddress to get a BBQcoin address for myself: bSPSqjm3PyjXoaGhBthbTTSjxMySUXMLrx
-MarkM-
--help I already wrote earlier that although the help output lists port 59333 that nubmer is not actually found elsehwere in the code, thus presumably it actually uses some other port and who-ever changed the port did not change the help text to match. -MarkM- it trys to connect to other peers at port 19323

Rucoin has 51% defence built in and can be mined with both SHA and Scrypt, so you get the best of both worlds.
fairytale about the 51% prove it bitcoin fork, no source, russians, security by obscurity. proof enuogh!
