1581  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: April 26, 2023, 12:14:58 AM
Its strange in crypto that they might restart under their own name, if this was plain finance the accounts would be amalgamated under a more trusted brand possibly non customer facing but which was able to secure funding and trusted by other banks as reliable in their accounting etc.

The brand name in any way now being worth anything after being so unreliable in their dealings just seems extraordinary.
1582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: April 25, 2023, 09:50:53 PM
Good reaction to the 50 day average, positive while we trend in this way

Resistance above is not major but not lingering here and moving upwards is by itself a positive and stops the possibility of developing further downwards.  Just trading in this area or higher will look much better on the daily bars from year start to now it will show as a higher low and helps us consider trading all of the 30's in BTC price, positive progression.   The longer we continue in a similar positive way the more it helps 200 day average and similar start gaining with good momentum on multiple time frames.
1583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Possibilities and chances ! on: April 24, 2023, 11:50:09 PM
All currency is related to the wider world, every commodity every resource is altered by markets far from here in that the world can produce more or less which makes what you have worth more or less.   I just heard they have an excess of wheat stores in east Europe which means some markets are protecting vs imports from that market.  Its good if you are consumer of wheat in that the price is likely low but bad as a producer.   For BTC sometimes the lower price needs to be seen as a positive thing but not a reason to fear exactly, just be glad in its ongoing usage.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 24, 2023, 11:43:20 PM
Size of the bet doesn't matter beyond bragging rights and flashing the cash, its the same win big or small.  I get it matters more to people when its enough to buy big things but I imagine when rich even big bets lose that appeal just for the size of the bet but the pure luck to do so I can appreciate.  Everyone can appreciate the extreme luck possible in some wins, from poker to slots thats something to respect in a big win ie its super unlikely but they pulled it off not the size of the dollars etc. imo

And that's why casinos continue to operate for a long time making crazy amounts of money, and people end up in financial ruin, everywhere in the world.

One doesnt imply the other, people can bet within a budget just like they do any activity.  Most crypto casinos allow really low bets compared to a normal casino it can be far more modest and in no way a threat to your wallet.    Also its better to have more customers then over use the few you might have who cannot in the long term carry on gambling that much, a profitable business will go for the long term objective not aim to exhaust their customer base in any unhealthy way.

statistically predict the outcome of a game
That can be done and it will say the house has an advantage.  How to give yourself an extra advantage is much harder to observe then implement successfully, in most games I dont think its possible especially though I dont blame people for trying.   AI will be most useful for reducing the homework and legwork to any task, if they are easy to use then only the user and their imagination becomes a limitation but mostly I see them for automation and facilitation of existing tech.

How about payment for duties, clearing and other documentations that require money to be sorted out, do you still think $200,000 will buy a brand new Lamborghini Huracan and still take care of all this other expenses?

Take Singapore as the extreme, they have giant taxes for the privilege  to own a nice car.  Just annual tax and car parking charges will be about $12,000 but to actually own outright including the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) would be $860k  apparently.   For this price I would recommend buying the car and keeping it at a foreign holiday home and actually save money including the extra cost of buying the additional holiday home and driveway lol Cheesy

Im not sure if the T&C were altered from terms originally offered so that the troubles of transporting the prize and ownership such as the Singapore problem is all on the winner.  I would guess so, I much prefer the free and clear prize money type option but in some countries they would also want to tax the winnings but not where Iam luckily.

Apparently an impending resolution towards 25k or in my view some level just above 24k is looking more probable the longer BTC hesitates in this area rather then recovering back its prior monthly highs.  The trading lows at present match the 50 day (moving) average BTC price.
1587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we now on Crypto bull run? on: April 23, 2023, 11:59:21 PM
Shame the OP got banned for spam I guess but the plain question was well timed if you consider the macro picture then it was fair.   Since start of this year BTC has done well and it wont always be as easy but I think its a valid call,  my rating is something closer to neutral but I wouldnt confine myself to an annual account exactly.   Some of the 2022 losses will be regained this year which makes it appear much more positive for registering that gain now, a tax year would be another way to view any set of gains or losses or some in crypto would look at BTC by its halvening schedule.
I wont label it an outright bullrun, I think revision and consolidation is required.   We dont have a clear track to take off on, if this was a plane take off there is still alot of debris from 2022 left over lying in the way.   All this old volume must be met, examined, traded and absorbed into the current meta and old volume, old orders on the books much be handled in the current price.  Somebody out there bought BTC at 40k, held and now wants to sell simple as that and we will match that old seller with a new buyer with varying success.   When enough of that work is done then you are clear to call out a bull run or whatever analogy, imo we are not clear work is ongoing.
1588  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina Central Bank Running Out of US Dollars. Bitcoin as a Solution? on: April 23, 2023, 11:49:40 PM
They have a fixed exchange rate I suppose or fake artificial politically forced market which will struggle because its not true, not a one off as it happens in alot of countries.  On the black market you will get dollar exchanged for their currency but at a different dynamic rate set by actual buyers and sellers who decide what they want.  Thats how capitalism works, the power is with the holders of the currency hence why any country where a central body is deciding for the many its not really capitalism in action; including when it fails but tell that to millions who blame the wrong things for failure.

After WWII quite a few countries had capital controls I think which is where you dont allow people to use their own money freely.  I think China is still doing this now yet its not in a war or recovering from one but it is injured from the burden of their dictatorship, so the people must pay.  Argentina needs more freedom, people are always the true source of growth and wealth in a country.
1589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 23, 2023, 10:47:58 PM
I agree dont chase losses but also expect to be playing for slightly longer then you intended, make sure you have a plan that covers not just instant success.

I like knowing one machine, one game well so Iam perhaps too predictable but also I like to think I know when the game is more likely to pay out and give me a profit for the session.  The biggest tip as I see it is to make sure you pace yourself and your rate of play so that you are able to end as and when you wish.  If you only stop playing when losing money then you may end up just paying into the machine and not getting it back in a series of wins that sometimes happens.  So this kind of mystical type of timing is the elusive prize I usually chase and end up obsessing with one game usually.

Thats a decent free roll, not everyone will have that as they are not betting enough but the long term multiplier and reason to bother with it is BTC itself.   I think we used to get hundreds every hour, I forget and I didnt screenshot it but seems correct because BTC itself used to be one or two hundred dollars per unit and people were scared of it selling off and that being the top price for the year forever even Cheesy
So my point is things can change, all the figures quoted above could be ten times higher and I dont expect that but it might be the case.   Certainly mainstream currency is very weak which makes me think alot of things could happen that in normal times would not be so dramatic.

I guess we will see 50 again in the upcoming days,

Maybe but I was thinking we can also attempt upwards some.  My very rough quick analogy is this, price is a ball bouncing off the boundaries of a cardboard box.  It can bounce back or it can knock that cardboard wall down, is price action in its attempts to sell stronger then prior volume (walls) basically.   The old breakout game basically, nobody will get what I mean but basically I would expect BTC as always to go in some irregular orbit never just one direction.
1591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: April 23, 2023, 12:46:54 AM
Positive reaction to 50 day average is occurring now and something to watch develop till end of month.    My thoughts are BTC price action could brush past the 50 day to visit either the 200 week or the 200 day which for the moment is much lower.   That'd be a harsher pullback but might be necessary to strengthen performance on longer term time lines and ultimately the larger bars like daily or weekly far outweigh the trades viewed every week on 4hr bars or smaller.
A more positive scenario is the 27k area is found as support and we challenge 30k and resistance until we can recover the full range of 2022 prices and without ever losing this area.
1592  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think of gold price in long term? on: April 22, 2023, 11:56:31 PM
Hold a bit of both, theres an advantage to the physical value and the parts they cannot just remove from your possession so easily.

if energy became cheap enough

Dont worry too much about that outcome, if this occurs all commodities and prices will be rerated.   Most likely that would be a bigger change then moving away from undefined economy that industrialization bought about.

Gold has lost it down trend of the previous decade, it should do far better this decade and at present monetary base has expanded faster then the price of gold which means its cheaper then it was previously even at 2000.
1593  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if BTC won't see ATH again? on: April 22, 2023, 07:48:58 PM
Its not just inflation is a thing, some currencies are going to zero worth which causes entire nations to lose their cash in hand.  Its not a one off event, its continual failure and corruption of currency by politics and military dictators etc.   people at present cannot trust any type of currency in the world as all of it is centralized towards a political master at best and at worst egotistical fiscal diversion and loss.
BTC very likely is of increasing worth in a world where normal exchange of currency involves losing some of it almost always, I'd rather have the chance of gaining something; most at present choose investment in shares or similar to make gains but BTC is valid also so most of the world has yet to hold a small amount.

It would need to rocket back to get over 30k, it can happen I just reckon not in the next week or so till month end.  I dont think its got the energy waiting to expend, what I've heard is Dollar index has some support here, usually that means some retraction in speculative trades such as BTC.   Not that my only interest in BTC is that speculative dollar type leveraged play but it is something which moves the price and can do fast, if its absent then it represents as some weakness or in this case lethargy maybe and we languish at 27k area.
We could also return to the 200 week average, thats got some gravity but imo we're stuck in the weeds here.

Congrats for those who thought wheel spin reward would appreciate slightly and saved, I didnt bother to do that this time.   Will it max out is the question now and where is that because I lost track of the pivotal price.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: April 22, 2023, 06:08:27 AM
Think I was close enough in my guess, though it meant each map was close and that only counts with a handicap round bet which I didnt do so no cigar :p     But speaking of special bets, I think Heroic with a 2-1 win over Navi would be quite possible and also high odds it appears over 4 to 1 so seems worth taking, these two teams are not far apart at all.
Endpoint win their game or should do and Vitality vs C9 I do prefer to put on as 3 map bet again.
1596  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to buy one time off bitcoin. on: April 22, 2023, 05:20:48 AM
I think the biggest most obvious test would be to retract and reconfirm the break above the 200 week average.   So we beat that inertia holding us back and once again as is true for most of BTC history the 200 week average lies below us.  However we might revist that area, for now we are at the 50 day average and I think thats enough for this month at least and we'll find some positive action here.   All we can do is judge the price as it occurs relative to historic volume but my most bearish view is along the lines of returning somewhere to the 200 week average and establishing the bottom pricing there as a higher low then we progress.

Vitality BIG is a 3 map series I think, seems possible both can challenge and win either teams map pick and cause 3 maps to occur in order to win.   I dont think Vitality win in 2 maps and if BIG do it will be very unfortunate for the team more then 10 ranks ahead of them.   Vitality have two 30 year old players, they will need more energy drinks for the win Smiley

I will bet 27k area for end april, reason being the 50 day average is there and also prior support.   We could catch the top end of that possible support which would be 1k or more higher but thats the same band I think anyhow.   I'd also guess though we could rebound after a pullback it will still be below 30k before end month.     If I'm wrong then the bet will not pay out but the BTC holding will be worth more, no downsides then.    If it fails to catch the 27k area that'd be significantly outside expectations I think, more then a pullback.
1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Progression in price on: April 20, 2023, 11:51:02 PM
That'd be the price only moving in one direction and thats not what a free market is doing or trying to do its really about aiming to balance out buyers and sellers and price is only derived as secondary to volume.  The price is there to achieve the highest volume really, the most agreed price between as many people possible or a smaller amount of people but with larger volume also can be the case of course.
There has to be a time when we chalk out the previous observed price range and call that as a good guide to the future, it wont always be moving on to something new it'll just run that range in both directions for as long as need be.   The OP scenario requires great imbalance or volatility, it would reflect a problem so far as I know not a good thing ironically.
1600  Economy / Speculation / Re: 27k> on: April 20, 2023, 11:25:52 PM
Is sideways too boring to say, the velocity could be zero and yet the journey not unexciting.    It doesnt seem we will be too negative imo but clearly some will be disappointed and aspirations modified.
Most likely target or simpliest view is a trade down to the 50 day average and then some recovery from there.  Of course we can better judge the outcome after the quality of recovery is observable.
