1582  Other / Meta / Re: TIL Activity does not work on precisely 2 week intervals + interval timings on: December 09, 2015, 08:01:52 PM
My activity didn't update today...can anyone offer an explanation? What questions do I need to answer? Feel free to PM me too. Thanks!

Edit: Is it because it's still within an hour of me posting in this new period?
Most likely. The activity usually takes a few hours to update.

The activity updates every 1 hour (I suppose).

1585  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] New "Ancient" ranking / higher than Legendary on: December 06, 2015, 07:12:02 PM
"Activity" is a good name because it shows how many days you've been active on the forum. If you created an account in 2010, used it for a week, and then returned in 2015, your activity (including potential activity) would be pretty small.

I agree that it'd be better to look at the quality of your posts and things like that, but this can't be calculated automatically.

Why do I have 250 more activity than hilariousandco, someone who has posted [been active] twice as much as I have? Because my account is a bit older? People could have less than 10% of his posts and still have a higher activity, it doesn't make sense.

My point is is that there should be a much higher standard than 1 post a day, even if it only becomes active at higher ranks, which would give a greater quantification to "activity" on the forum.

Because you've been here much longer than I have. Activity is a good indicator because you can't just spam your way to it as activity takes into consideration age by how many two week periods you've posted in. It's also not necessarily one activity point per day but 14 per fortnight. You can get the same activity by making one post in each period then making up the rest of the posts at a later date.

Yes, definitely activity is not the correct name (or it should change the calculation of it).

Maybe not but it's too late to change it now but what else would you call it?

Would you to receive an honest answer ....  Grin  ?

I don't have in my mind any valid substitute to 'activity'.

Kraken ... il migliore !

red,

I think the max. bitcoin that I owned in my wallet was ~125 btc, now I have ~20 on an offline pc and the rest in fiat ( € and $) on the various exchanges.

It's your 'money' and you can do whatever you want... why are you asking here what should you do with your BTC?
1600  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] BTC for PP on: December 02, 2015, 07:38:23 PM
I don't suggest you to buy btc with paypal, you can easily reverse the payment.

More info here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14632.0

I'm aware. That is why I only send payment as a gift in PP. It's non reversible.

With some SE you will be able also to reverse a 'gift' payment with paypal Wink.

Paypal is not a secure method to buy bitcoin, that's all !

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks. What's SE?

SE = social engineering
