1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Culture Around Bitcoin and Liberty on: June 13, 2021, 11:11:53 PM
If you face the reality: No...

Libertarianism is similar to anarchism and there are definitely not many people here who adhere to this political philosophy. You only need to look at the user's speeches to see that.
Although it was the motivation in the early days of Bitcoin, the mentality has faded away. There is now a very small minority who actually have that mentality. I concur with @20kevin20's opinion.

And its quite known that this probably is the most skilled community in the world, concerning informatics, bitcoin and technology

No doubt when it comes to Bitcoin, but when it comes to informatics or technology, not at all. All you have to do is to get used to surfing forums on the web.

Most of the persons you see in the crypto world are only interested in money and speculating. Bitcoin is considered as their cash cow and anything else is not interesting. I take BTC as an example but it's the whole crypto market. If a day BTC goes down to $10, they all will leave.
Paying people to learn about cryptos is something <eird for me. And seeing the mentality with money we should not worry. When it's about making money people learn without being rewarded.
1582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What prevents someone from "giving" themselves more Bitcoin? on: June 11, 2021, 09:12:30 PM

There was one network hack back in 2015 that I can remember which involved a double spend.
Um, what? Can you provide a link?

He's probably confusing with https://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2015-07-04-spv-mining
But it was rather just a risk of double spend after a bitcoin fork when a few miners generated invalid blocks and it was considered valid by some wallets and explorers

Donc je me demandais juste

@SFR10

Because you need to click on the conditions terms button. (Acepto el/la términos y condiciones andpolitica de cancelacion)
I tried myself and have been redirected to Paypal

Then I checked the ToS and there is no mention of Bitcoin. I suspect @OP has no interest in Bitcoin and only wanted to throw a backlink
1585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I get a loan? on: June 11, 2021, 10:55:11 AM
That's crazy. What about if you are never able to reach the break-even point?

I still consider it irresponsible to borrow money to invest. Especially in a market as volatile and unpredictable as cryptocurrency. It's a bit like asking for a loan to buy lottery tickets. If it's to buy a car it's something else, but to gamble? it's very risky in my opinion.
Nobody talks about it but the advantage you have is to go through your family, what if you embarrass them in the case you are not able to pay on time? Who knows if they could be in trouble caused by your wrong decision.

I hope at least you will be able to use your current portfolio to refund in case something goes wrong.
I once met a person who invested in something crazy online ("a semi scam"). He had even had his house mortgaged. Guess what, he lost everything

1586  Economy / Exchanges / Re: P2P Exchanges and vendor country location on: June 10, 2021, 08:07:06 PM

So (being in the Eurozone) would you avoid all "Five Eyes" nations i.e. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States?

Yes and No

Yes, because I've enough opportunities and I don't need to look somewhere else. And secondly, because the countries you mention do not use EUR currency and I can't receive anything else than EUR. Or I would need to open another bank account and then I will pay an outrageous FX fee
It's not so popular to sent money overseas so I prefer to stay in Europe to stay 'under the radar' if I can say.

Just to tell you a story. The last bank account I opened, with IGN, the first question they asked me, even before asking my name/last name, was "are you American?"

No: if it was my only alternative, I would jump on it
1587  Economy / Exchanges / Re: P2P Exchanges and vendor country location on: June 10, 2021, 05:19:37 PM
I guess their country location shouldn't be of any particular concern; particularly if paying by bank transfer?

It can be, to the contrary. Especially if you pay by bank transfer.

Some people do not want to have to make transfers to foreign countries and therefore prefer to trade with people from the same country.

- This way, there is no doubt in the bank's mind. There is no risk they will ask you how it is that you are sending money to another country. (It happens).
- Some banks require authorizations/confirmations in order to make a transfer to a foreign country. So you can easily waste a week with this process.

Others want to avoid specific countries. Personally, in my case, there are some I don't want to deal with. I stay in the EU, but I don't want to deal with some countries outside the Eurozone

Yep, I saw your comment on their thread yesterday.
I visited the site a few hours later thinking it might be a server propagation problem, or due to the massive worldwide Internet outage but no sign of life, even a ping.

It's the second day today. I will wait two more days to see if it comes back otherwise I will update the original post.

edit:

The site is back online now

Hi

1) Your website is not using the HTTPS protocol which is a standard nowadays. You may think it's not important if the data between a web server and a web browser isn't secured, but you should know that some browsers block websites without HTTPS.
It means that you can promote it all the way you want, people cannot open it.

2) You posted the wrong referral links for a few websites

3) I checked one of the websites and it's using a nulled script. And I'm 200% sure since I talked for years with the original dev, I know pretty well the script myself, and I know the owner has no reseller plan.
If an admin can not buy a legit script, do you think it can pay the members?
1590  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for a list of crypto friendly banks on: June 09, 2021, 09:28:54 PM
hi, thank you for your reply

I saw all these alternatives but it does not accept my country iam french but i live in Panama, I find an alternative with Advcash. i had tried wirex, i can open an account but i can't get a debit card, if i made a deposit i couldn't use the money .... The only viable alternative i found is to use Binance, sell my cryptos in euros and make a withdrawal with Advcash on binance. Even if they are not a real bank, they are the only ones who can provide me with a debit card, without big restriction, just a few fees you use it.

wow a French in Panama, you're a whale  Grin

Alright, I checked Wirex and for Panama, you can have an account but not the card.
I suppose you already checked this list? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280997.0 There are a few supposed to be available worldwide.

No need to tell you to look at feedbacks outside here since some of the cards listed are unpopular in the crypto sphere

1591  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for a list of crypto friendly banks on: June 09, 2021, 07:49:11 PM
You may take a look at Bitwala and Wirex. Since their activity is about blockchain banking services, there is no way for them to be 'anti-crypto'.

Otherwise, there are also Fidor bank, Revolut, Changeinvest.com, or Dukascopy but I'm totally unsure about the citizenship to open an account with Dukascopy (only from Swiss or foreign countries too).

The SEPA transfers between Fidor and Kraken used to be instant. Kraken's bank account was with Fidor.
Revolut has some crypto features, hence my suggestion but I never used it.
I only remember the name of Changeinvest.com but never looked at it seriously since I didn't any more to do it

Hope that help.

As long as a certain business or even a small establishments accepts it as a mode of payment, convenience and taxless experience is guaranteed.

Total shit! Have you ever used Bitcoin or have any ounce of education?

Since you talk about Tesla, do you think if a day you buy a car and pay it in Bitcoin you won't have a tax to pay?
Hello! Did you know there is something called VAT?

Do you think if you're paid in BTC you don't have a taxable income to pay?
Santa Clauss isn't real FYI.

Do you think if you invest $x,xxx and make a 200% ROI you don't have a tax to pay?
Did you know there is something called capital gains taxes?

You're born yesterday, or? Nah I know it's all about cheating taxes by not reporting any income/capital gains, etc related to crypto.
It's always funny to see people complaining about how their country is bad in economy, has shitty infrastructures, not enough hospital, and complaint about it.... But love to cheat the money needed to run their own country

=> Et?Huh ca nous avance à quoi.

Ah... je sais!

Le Bitcoin a pris 14% en 24h!

Quel rapport vous allez me dire.

Ben quoi?

1597  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What do bitcoin ATMs do with your phone number? on: June 08, 2021, 05:25:29 PM
Normally, you can not use the free numbers that can be found online to receive SMS, so forget this suggestion given.

Not to mention that some ATMs send you the SMS containing the transaction détails and private key. So imagine everyone having access to it...
You may need to provide your birth date with the code received by SMS and since you'll be using someone else number, it won't match.

You also can't use Viber, textnow, and similar apps. Their system detects and refuses such phone numbers. It can work with some but it depends on the manufacturer and you can't really know that in advance...

And yes, asking for your phone number is a legal obligation to control the money laundering risk.

Get a paid SIM, or at least dedicated to you. You get one for free with lycamobile

1598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about bitcoin taxes and signature campaign payment on this forum on: June 07, 2021, 03:33:30 PM
In the case you're describing, it will be considered as an income and so you will have to pay the same taxes rate as if you work IRL.
Usually, I mean for most countries, you do not pay a tax if you haven't sold your bitcoins.

It's the sale that triggers the tax event. For example, you receive BTC today and later you sell on December when the price is $40,000. You will be taxed on the base of $$40,0000

Increased in value or not doesn't really matter. What matter is its value on the day you sell your BTC
1599  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-06-05] El Salvador to make Bitcoin Legal Tender on: June 07, 2021, 02:24:58 PM
@Carlton Banks

I'm not sure I understood your message.

Did you want to say that given the size of the country and its economy such news is insignificant?
Why is that?

Even if this is true it is a good start. It shows that it is quite possible and could serve as an example to others. The country could serve as a 'laboratory' for this kind of experimentation. We could see a snowball effect afterward

With all the shit E. Musk has been saying recently, such news isn't bad. (I admit: it has zero results on the Bitcoin's market lol)
1600  Economy / Exchanges / Re: PayPal and BTC on: June 07, 2021, 02:02:08 PM

It's not related and both are different services. You're talking about Coinpal.eu (a scam) and the link of the topic you posted is about coinpal.ndrix.com.

Contrary to what you may think, it is not so easy to buy or sell bitcoins through Paypal. And due to the nature of the risk of using this payment processor, sellers often charge an exorbitant price. Like 20 or 30% above the market.
Yet there is not thousand of place to do it

A Bitcoin mixer isn't going to help in his/her case since none deal with Paypal.
