162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: May 30, 2018, 06:58:36 PM
I think this is possible only if all GPU's are installed into x16 slots, but I have not heard about the existence of motherboards with 6x PCIE x16 slots.
The best result I saw using I7-8700K and  1x1060 was 500KH @PCIEx16,  420KH @PCIEx4 and 230KH @PCIEx1.

I7-8700K. 1060@PCIEx16 + 1060@PCIEx4:
Quote
0-509.1 1-412.5 Total: 921.6 H/s  2018/05/30 11:36:13 0 - Yay, solution found!
G3258. 1070@PCIEx16 + 1060@PCIEx1:
Quote
0-492.3 1-223.7 Total: 716.0 H/s  2018/05/30 13:37:15 1 - Yay, solution found!
I7-2600: 1060@PCIEx16 + 1060@PCIEx1 +1060@PCIEx4
Quote
0-350.3 1-235.5 2-306.7 Total: 892.5 H/s  2018/05/30 13:38:43 0 - Yay, solution found!

Can you make test with I7-8700K and 1070@PCIEx16?

Once the miner is optimised in the next few months it will be able to run at full speed on the GPU with low cpu load.  It's just the way the miner is currently written thats making it cpu / pci-e bus bound.

If you have the hardware and you don't mind swapping the cpu on then it makes sense to do a swap and mine at the best hash rate.

It's a combination of Cpu speed(DDR3 ram cpus take a big hit) 80% x pci-e width 15% x 5%GPU.

So with 2x GTX 1060 on a i7 you get more hash than 4x1060's on a i5 2500s . ~700h/s

More than 3 cards and the performance gains are reduces too..

I'm getting about 8 btm a day on i5 2500s with 1060 x 4. More profitable than most on crypto coinz.

So I have the option of getting a i72600 (max supported by Mining rig) or using two cards on 16x and 8x mode on a i7 3770. To get 700h/s. What's the best watt/hash? As I doubt my i7 is very efficient

Cheers

Are your 1060 connected by risers or on MoBo's pcie x8 and x4 ?
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - GPU miner upgrade to V2 on: May 29, 2018, 05:54:30 PM
nice to see a v2, i was already using an 8700k, so this miner makes no difference to me : /

hashrate seems the same as v1 Sad

This version made a lot of difference as others have reported. Were you running single or multiple instances with the previous version ? With V2 you have to run only single instance to get max hashrate but maybe for some reasons like me you are not getting maximum hashrates. I am too getting same hashrate as before.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - GPU miner upgrade to V2 on: May 29, 2018, 04:03:36 PM
is it stable?
Kind of. It becomes stable with i5 processor. It puts a lot of load on cpu. G4400 can't handle it.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - GPU miner upgrade to V2 on: May 29, 2018, 09:37:52 AM
I am getting same hashrate as before while other are reporting more hashrate. Getting approx 400 h/s for 4*1050ti in single instance. HiveOS, G4400, 4gb ram.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.9e: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: May 28, 2018, 07:06:23 PM
Asking again- My temperature is more when mining with Phoenixminer and Win10 then they are with HiveOS and ethminer or claymore(on HiveOS). Temp increased by 7-10C. Is this normal or is this some settings problem.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: May 28, 2018, 04:49:20 AM
So you mean 5gpus running two instances is the best choice in your case?
I read the whole thread and see that 1050ti is the best p/p vga for this bytom mining, right?
Correct 5gpus and 2 instances was best case scenario for me. 1050ti and 1060 3gb are the best as they are both cheap and as the miner is not optimised the big gpus don't have any hashrate advantage. I think with a professional miner, this problem will be solved.

Just the news I needed to start my day. Thanks.

B3 will go down in history as the ASIC killed by the smallest of gpus. Let's mine the hell out of this coin before Bitmain releases the real deal.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AVALON (Canaan) $1 Billion IPO to manufacture ASIC's - NOT ICO... It's "IPO" on: May 27, 2018, 08:05:39 PM
NEVER EVER invest in anything crypto related that comes out of People's Republic of China. A whole article needs to be written on this topic.

For a private company in PRC it is compulsory to have party members in it. Every big company in China weather foreign or china based have to have party members on executive position. The corporate law stipulates that companies, villages and schools with three or more members should set up party organizations. Time and time again CCP (Chinese Communist Party) has showed us they will take over any company no matter how big or small if it doesn't play by their rules. Any ICO or crypto related project that comes put of PRC is directly under guidance from CCP- world's most powerful totalitarian regime. CCP has already done their maths, this is all in their plan to control west and the world, centralise and control the democratically desentralised systems.

Technologies like TOR, Cryptocurrencies, VPN are most useful and used by people living in these totalitarian regimes. If you support these projects and companies you are only making CCP more powerful which will inturn hurt the people of China. CCP won't be able stop the next revolution. Just look at Tiananmen Square massacre, this is what these crony capitalist companies support.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate and Estimate mining profits explanation on: May 27, 2018, 04:42:07 PM
I have 4 Sapphire 570 Nitro+ 8GB and indicatively I have a hashrate for CryptoNight algorithm of 4900 h/s, consumption of 330w and an energy cost of 0.28$.
How are you getting these high hash rates on Cryptonight ? These almost match the vegas.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits? on: May 27, 2018, 04:06:12 PM
Thanks to gregory021998 for helping me get it running.

On G4400, 4 gb ram and 12*1050ti HiveOS rig, I found out that I can't run more then 10 gpus. With 10 gpus I can only run a single instance. Hash rate - 600-750 h/s.

Only with 5 gpus I can run two instances. Hash rate approx 300-400 h/s per instance. So hash rate of 5 gpu is same as hash rate of 10. I can only run 3 instances with 3 gpus only. Hashrate was 125-140 h/s per instance i.e. 125-140 h/s per 1050ti. Cpu load was high with 3 instances. No OC.

I will test it again when I get an i5 cpu.

There is a lot of hidden potential with GPU Bytom mining and if the miners are optimised, I am sure it will be the most profitable big mcap coin. Sharing is caring guys, so please share if you discover something about Bytom gpu mining.

EDIT : After some messing around, I am able to run all 12 1050ti on single instance. Hash rate 600-800 h/s. Can't run second instance with G4400, it freezes. Neither I am able to increase hashrate with more instances like some of the guys here. My hashrates gets divided if I open more instances so Hash rate remains same (or even less). It puts a LOT of load on CPU. So yeah powerful CPU is needed.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.9e: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: May 27, 2018, 03:10:59 PM
Hello, today i first time switched from HiveOS and ethminer to Win10 and Phoenoxminer.

I have one problem, the gpu temp. Is high compared to ethminer in hiveos. 10C high !
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: May 27, 2018, 11:05:17 AM
Don't waste time. Hurry up and make Bytom miner. The mining profit is 20BTC everyday. It's a big business, better than selling boards here.

It won't be 20BTC/day if 10000 people are mining it with the same FPGA you are.

shitman's ASIC miner is 1KH /400W
GPU miner 6x 1060, 1KH/300W
bytom global hashrate is about 20MH,that is 20000 miners
let's see you beat the GPU
I am mining it at 700 h/s with few 1050ti. Are you personally mining it too ? I can't good performance out of it. 10*1050ti gives same hash as 5*1050ti. Can't open another instance with more then 5 gpus.

Yes. This is normal.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can Algos and/or ASICs be patented ? on: May 27, 2018, 08:53:33 AM
Can a algorithm be patented ? What about ASICs ? Can Bitmain patent a particular ASIC so that others can't manufacturer an asic for a particular algo without licence from patent holder ?

 Yes and no.

Anyone can create an ASIC.  Most ASIC manufacturers use chips and components from other vendors.  The only way Bitmain could patent their ASICs and benefit from it is if they developed the chip themselves and didn't license it to anyone else.  If this chip warranted a patent then it the answer is yes.  This scenario only works though if only their ASIC could run a particular algorithm.

However, if they buy the chips from someone else they still may be able to patent their ASIC, but that would not prevent other companies from buying the same chip and making their own.

It would not be in anyone best interests to let a single entity control an algorithm and the hardware that hashes it.  I think you would find that no one would buy it.

The reality is quite different. The most centralised cryptocurrency has the highest market capital and volume. Also it is mined by patented ASICs only. Just look at how powerful Bitmain has become. If what you say was true then this would have not happened.

Mine is stuck at "New job received from stratum server" for last 20 minutes.
What should I do ?

I have not registered at Upool or anything

All i did so far : download and extract in HiveOS- change wall address- Run *run.sh     this what it's showing
https://ibb.co/kwVLqo

https://ibb.co/g0cN38

https://ibb.co/iKpDAo

i restarted the rig and now it is stuck at last gpu with "No work ready" message.

Edit : restarted again. Now again stuck at "New job received from stratum server"
Please help.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Deception & Misdirection by ZEC co. Forking ASIC Resistance Bitmain Antminer Z9 on: May 26, 2018, 04:26:50 PM
I support FPGA mining not cause I can jump early on it (I am a small scale miner and I can barely afford one $6k FPGA).
Heck, I could've even jumped on these ASICs.  I knew about them and could've ordered in the first batches itself.

FPGAs are much more power efficient and may or may not be faster than a GPU (price to performance ratio).
People who own mining farms would be interested in getting 1k of these instead of 10k GPUs.  In case of FPGAs there can always be some xyz person who can bring out custom implementations (binaries) which perform better than competitors.  The cost involved is much lower than a competitor who has to compete against a giant and manufacture a better ASIC.
FPGA mfg are two (Xilinx and Intel/Altera) and they are not mining crypto with their FPGAs.  They have a much larger customer base to meet their targets just like for NVIDIA/AMD crypto is not the bread and butter.

The problem with ASIC is one entity is producing, mining and selling them.  It's not the ASIC itself but this particular entity.
If I was a money printing machine manufacturer and that's the only thing I do why or when should I sell it to others?

Yeah keep repeating SIA founder's words. Everyone have read that article. You blame bitmain but protect underground FPGA mining. Yeah no word on that. That's been going on for quite some time. What about their retail availabilty ? Are they available for sale as gpu are ? No, only big guys with big money will benefit from them. You must be blind as a bat if you can't see this as a small scale miner. They are more powerful and more scalable so farms will be even more powerful and efficient. Meanwhile they are available to only handful of people. Just have a look around. You are waiting for some guy on the internet who might deliver them to you. Some middle man. Power in the hands of only few here. What's stopping them from mining with those FPGA's before delivering them to you ? Meanwhile the big guy are already mining with them for more then year and the big guy who missed out before will now be the first one to get their hands on them, then only you will probably get one delivered to you. It's the same as ASICs, once every big guy has eaten the meat, then they will throw the bone to you and you will be excited like a dog. When I first heard about them I was also excited but the more research I did about them, the more I found bad about them. You should change your mind too, just think about it, I was also thinking like you earlier.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can Algos and/or ASICs be patented ? on: May 26, 2018, 04:07:44 PM
How do big companies protect their software and hardware then ? That too at an international level.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can Algos and/or ASICs be patented ? on: May 26, 2018, 11:53:52 AM
Even if you own a technology of 10 nm for the production of a chip, then you need to build a plant worth several billion dollars, you need qualified engineers.
Software is very hard to protect.
In most cases, software makers want a lot of money for their products. For example, the average salary in the USA is 3000-4000 dollars per month, the average salary in Russia is 500 dollars Smiley So the idiots from Microsoft sell Windows in Russia at a price of 120-300 dollars and an office at the same price or subscription for 50-60 dollars a year.
The most ridiculous thing is that in the USA it costs much cheaper.
Yes and this is what leads to piracy but also cost of living is Russia and asia is cheaper compared to US. I just download full softwares from torrents. I bought a pirated pre-activated Win10 ultimate for 1$ lol.

I was asking the question because we are working on a brand new algo.

@gameboy266:
We have a small power station, support up to 300 rigs.
Do you get your electricity from government or some factory ? Is electricity constant 24/7 ? I mean that is not possible with govt. electricity or you would need backup generators. Can you elaborate about this power station. Thanks.

My friend is running 100 rigs but as power is not good here he has to connect one 2.0KV inverter with two batteries to each of his rig.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My Farm in Vietnam on: May 26, 2018, 05:44:38 AM
Do you use ups inverter or generators for small power outs ? Nice images.
