161  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: December 02, 2022, 02:57:53 PM
The idea of a centralized exchange already tells you that it can't be safe forever. I mean there will always be attacks towards them so even if they are legit and not scamming website, they may get hacked eventually and that would be the problem for them.

I personally believe that DEX will grow bigger in the future because of this, because people can't really deal with this kind of behaviour forever, they need to realize that they can't make any problems with how it is and need to be a lot better in the long run and DEX is the way to go if you want to be more safe. That way, there is no funds in a centralized location to be hacked, and that's a better than right now.

Always be careful with everything, it should be noted that there is no concept of absolute safety in the market both CEX and DEX. DEX is also less secure than you think, once using a DEX, you also have to accept for your wallet to connect to the exchange and give permission to them. What if they intentionally want to take our property? Everything can happen. DEX or CEX will both have their own pros and cons, protect yourself by not trusting any exchange too much. Always withdraw everything to your personal wallet after completing the transaction.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 01, 2022, 10:12:04 PM
It's more like a Pakistani problem tbh and it's quite new as well. They just don't have confidence in their bowling and batting against BIG-3 ( in that case Aussie and Poms) They give spicy wickets to every other team like windies, Ban, SA, SL.

You would never see this kind of pitch in India, last time India prepared a flat deck against England (their last tour), the curator got fired unofficially. There is a reason we didn't lose a single test series in the last decade. This might change in the next 6 months or so tho.
Agreed. I don't remember seeing a similar track in India since long time. And this is one of the reasons why test cricket is so boring. Who is going to watch such one-sided matches, which will almost certainly end in a draw? This is one of the most efficient methods to drive fans away from cricket. A few years back, ICC had this suggestion of doing away with the toss and giving the option to the visiting team whether they want to bat first or bowl first. That was a good suggestion actually, and would have prevented matches such as this one being played.

Pakistan has got the chance of hosting international events, and international cricket events after a long time. But right now I just think that they are only decreasing the quality with these types of things. And if these types of things continue to happen, I think it will not be long before other teams lose interest in playing in Pakistan. No one wants to see a one-sided match, everyone wants to see competition. The Pakistan cricket board, however, does not seem to be taking the competition seriously, they are just trying to take the easy way out.

The current test match that is being played between Pakistan and England, is probably going to be one-sided because I have not said anything about the bowlers yet. And I don't think it is going to change even on the fifth day.

Quote from: Velvet78
Osimhen is drawing the attention of other teams by a consistent performance this season for sure. He scored 9 goals in 11 games he played in the league already. As far as I know he doesn't have any release clause now which is good for Napoli. Because if he had that the amount would have been quite low compared to his value right now most probably. It would have been similar to Dortmund's losing Haaland to Manchester City for only 60 million euros.
Napoli would like to extend with him to fend off the interest in him. They might like to add a release clause worth no less than 100 million euros as well. But I have big doubts about Osimhen to accept this. He might be willing to sign for a bigger team in the future.
I don't think, Napoli manager will release Osimhen now, because they have seen what happened to Dortmund and Liverpool that sold their potential strikers with a huge amount of money that is causing the team to experience poor performance in this season. Osimhen has showcased some skills that is making other teams to use any amount of money to sign him into their team, because he is a young talented striker that has more strength to play very well. I think, Manchester united will like to have striker like Osimhen to replace cristiano Ronaldo so that their performance will remain stable after the FIFA world cup.
It is not up to the manager, it is based on the offer they get. If they get an offer like lets say 80 million or something, they would not be able to reject it, imagine him getting injured and a big one as well later in the season, that is not money they can gamble with. The whole teams salary is less than that, they would be losing a chance to make so much money and they would take that deal. It's up to the management to decide to sell him or not.
In this case, it's worth selling him and losing the title than keeping him and get the title with a possibility of him injuring himself and they end up losing the title anyway. That risk doesn't worth the possible reward.

I think that the Napoli coach should understand that if they let Osimhen leave Napoli right now, they are very likely to regret that very soon. He is sure to become a better player by moving to other elite clubs. And by that time his transfer market value will have increased as well.

The most critical thing is if they do let him depart right now they will probably lose track of winning the league title which they are trying to do right now.
Rght now I think they are on the right track to winning the Italian League title.
Probably one move from them is going to be selling Osimhen and getting Cristiano Ronaldo. But I do not think that is going to be an optimal move for them.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: November 30, 2022, 11:54:02 PM
It surprises me that the rumors about the transition of Mbappe to Real Madrid are again intensifying. He performs well in the World Cup and he is a good player, but in my opinion he already overstepped the bounds when he played his dirty game trading between PSG and Real so I would be happy if Real just ignored this player. He is too expensive and is too risky a purchase. He is not worth his money.
I think those rumors ended last season after Kylian Mbappe rejected Real Madrid's offer and agreed to a contract extension with Paris Saint Germain. Or is there an offer for the second time?
Besides, Real Madrid doesn't seem to need it because with the combination of Benzema, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, they successfully won several titles last season, and this season Real Madird still looks confident with their main squad.
Real Madrid are confident with their current squad. But they now need to find a suitable replacement for Benzema. This is why they will be looking to bring in a talented young striker this season. And so it would not be surprising if Real Madrid became interested in Mbappe this season as well. Their squad is strong, but they need another talented striker.
Benzema is also injured. His fitness is deteriorating. Also Rodry and Vini are talented no doubt, but they are not experienced enough. It is difficult to do well in serious matches without experienced players.

Honestly, I think Real Madrid is going to feel like it will hurt their ego to chase after Mbappé right now. This is especially true when Madrid was willing to pay a lot of money for this player previously. Now it will be a weak point for the club if they continue to chase after him. But at the same time, it is not like he will have a lot of problems if he cannot move to Real Madrid.

I am sure he will get a lot of offers from other teams if he does decide to move. But honestly, I do not think he’s willing to give up all that money and power position PSG is giving him right now. It is nearly impossible to downgrade yourself when you have tasted the sweetness of money Smiley.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETHW still survive? on: November 30, 2022, 10:15:48 PM
I don't dare to make any statements about what ETHW will look like in the future but I don't think it is outdated, it is still a representation of the ETH POW version. Many people love ETH but they are disappointed with ETH upgrade and they decide to stay to support ETHW, that's why ETHW is still being built and developed more than what ETC did. Currently, ETHW holders are mainly miners and exchanges as most of the investors sold when they received the airdrop. In my view, there is still future for ETHW as they are backed by old ETH miners.
I think it's safe to say that it is outdated because there is a new version that is out already and the majority have moved with it. For those who can't moved on and like the old eth well what can we do?

They are free to stay there if they want to, but for those who are truly a fan of eth, they will accept its new form because this is what the founder wants for his coin. They are willing to show their support until the end. If there are people who got disappointed then I think it was mainly about the price. They expect eth price will pump high right after the upgrade but that wasn't the case that happens though there is still a chance for eth price to increase in the future.
I'm also one of the ETH supporters, but we're here to make a profit, so I won't pass up any opportunity if I see it. ETHW is not comparable to ETH as the founders no longer support it, this is true but does not mean that it is outdated and unlikely to be pumped in the future. The miners are considered the biggest sharks on the market, so with their support, anything is possible.
166  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC, more closer bullish days ahead. on: November 30, 2022, 10:01:45 PM
As far as I understand what he means, bitcoin is not the main investment which means we need to diversify our investments. Diversify not with altcoins but with asset diversification in gold or real estate. There is no such thing as an absolute safe investment, so you need to divide your eggs into several baskets.

Bitcoin is not the best asset but the one that gives the biggest return and we should take advantage of the drop to accumulate it as much as we can.
That is not a terrible idea, I will not use it but I wouldn't be against people who use it neither. I feel like there is a good chance you could make a profit if you keep investing into multiple different sources of assets. There are a million different ways you could use your money and if you do have that much money then you could do it.

I believe that it's better to just buy bitcoin and a few others for a smaller amount, and that's my personal one, and I agree that not many people could possibly see that, but if you invest and diversify, that's not a bad idea neither and I feel like it should be quite entertaining if you know what you are doing.

For me, even though bitcoin can be very profitable, it is still risky so I don't want to risk my entire fortune on bitcoin. I like to diversify my investments, maybe investing in gold is not as profitable as bitcoin but it is safe to some extent. I can sell them when I need cash and easily buy them back later because volatility is not high, I prefer investing in gold because gold is safer than depositing it in the bank. As for real estate, it's an investment no longer for myself but for my children.
As a married person, I cannot risk my entire fortune with bitcoin, the future of bitcoin is still a big question when compared to other traditional asset classes.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 28, 2022, 03:46:44 PM
I think Bayern Munich are actually finding it difficult to figure out which player they need. Because they will be missing Sadio Mané for a few matches after the World Cup as far as I know. And they have not brought in any player in his place. In addition to this, I have seen that Bayern Munich always likes to keep an eye on their young players who are in the process of developing their skills. Because obviously, they are going to be the future of the club. Generally, Bayern Munich are a bit sceptical about older players. However, when it comes to younger players, they are very helpful and generally push them to do better in their games.

It is possible for some people to say that I am wrong and that Bayern Munich treats every player the same way. But that is not the case. We have seen multiple times what happened when players got older, even though they were playing very well.
This is a prediction snippet from a news site that I took because Sadio Mane and Lucas Hernandez were injured.
Quote
So, most likely the Bayern Munich line-up when they return to the Bundesliga Matchday 16 against RB Leipzig could be like this: Neuer – Pavard, Upamecano, de Ligt, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Gnabry, Musiala, Sane – Choupo-Moting.
Mane will definitely recover from his injury and Bayern doesn't need to bother thinking about that, but I'm still wondering whether the speculation about Bayern having a big interest in Kane is still true?

Bayern Munich is in need of a striker. It is no secret that Harry Kane at the moment is not happy with the way he is being treated by his own club. There is no doubt that he is a magnificent striker. However, I honestly don't think he is capable to win anything with Tottenham as a result of his presence.

As a result, if Bayern Munich can get Harry, it will be a tremendous opportunity for the club. However, I was wondering what would happen if they brought in Cristiano Ronaldo for a short period of time? He might be offered another extension if Cristiano Ronaldo performs well in the upcoming season. In any case, they can say that Cristiano Ronaldo is free to leave and that they can start pursuing Harry Kane if he leaves. How about that?

If we have assets with large values, of course we are always worried when we see prices, I suggest making bitcoin an alternative investment and never make it as a main investment, if the price drops like this it certainly makes us stress, limit the bitcoin balance so that it makes us enjoy enjoy life.

But bitcoin is already one of the biggest assets right now and will be in the future, so I will disagree to make him as a alternative investment. If there is, it should be the altcoin market, (hence alternative coin).

The thing is that there are investors that just put their hands on the proverbial cookie jar, and then when they are caught they don't know how to react.

Bitcoin again is the best asset, we just have to be mentally tough and hold and accumulate when they are cheap, specially in the bear market.

As far as I understand what he means, bitcoin is not the main investment which means we need to diversify our investments. Diversify not with altcoins but with asset diversification in gold or real estate. There is no such thing as an absolute safe investment, so you need to divide your eggs into several baskets.

169  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is likely to head towards a price of $13,000 on: November 28, 2022, 01:19:43 PM
Seeing conditions like this of course always makes us worried, especially if we have large assets, a year ago I have assets of around $30k which I think is large, this make me difficult to sleep and every day check prices at least 3 times, this makes me uncomfortable so I sold about $25k and left $5000 and due to the drop it's now around $2200.
You are the type of person who panics and cannot manage your emotions because the steps you take to sell when the price drops indicate you are panicking. Even though with assets that big that you have, you have the potential to get big profits if the price increases significantly later. My advice, never panic when the price of cryptocurrency drops. It's better to hold assets in the long term and don't always check prices on the market because that can make you panic and unable to manage your emotions.

But I see he made the right decision to sell them, if he didn't sell them maybe 30k dollars now only 15k dollars and that's a huge loss.

@Semar Mesem, I don't know what coins you've held but if it's bitcoin I also see you made the right decision. Bitcoin is a good investment but if you buy it at the wrong time it is no longer a good investment, a good investment only if it gives us a profit. If you are worried, it is due to your lack of knowledge in investing, I advise you to do thorough research and analysis when investing and only invest with the amount you can lose. Do not invest with the above amount if you are not ready to lose it.

171  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: November 28, 2022, 04:05:40 AM
Our love for money should be moderate ...

Most people will realize this when thinking about it, but when we see a lot of money in front of us, we forget it immediately. We have a saying "money makes you blind". I can say that we won't stop loving money because nowadays even love will be measured in money, if you don't have money, no girl will love you no matter how sincere you are. Money can be the root of all evil, but it can also be the cradle of happiness.
172  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: November 28, 2022, 03:52:04 AM
Paper money has existed for thousands of years, first widely used in feudal China, although continuously improved and renewed, they have not disappeared a single day in the past 1000 years. So thinking about a future without paper money isn't going to happen anytime soon. CBDC will soon be created and adopted but it also cannot completely replace paper money, there are still many places, and many people still don't know how to use the internet as well as the phone, how can they use CBDC?

It's hard to make people change their use of paper money, when it's been around with us for thousands of years. If credit/debit cards didn't manage to replace paper money, then how would CBDCs succeed? Yet, I think this time will be different as the pandemic and certain other factors will force us towards the complete digitalization of our society. Phasing out paper money would bring many benefits to the government including (but not limited to) reducing waste, eliminating privacy, and having better control over the money supply.

I know the world is going to abandon paper money at some point in the future, especially when central banks are announcing their intentions of launching CBDCs to the public. But this is going to take quite some time to achieve, as there are a lot of people who won't abandon paper money that easily (especially old people). We already have Bitcoin anyways, so there's no need to wait until Fiat becomes fully digitized. Just my opinion Smiley

I also believe that paper money will be phased out in the future but it won't happen anytime soon. As you say today our aging population still makes up a significant portion and access to technology faces certain obstacles so the elimination of paper money in this century is highly unlikely. But just look at the development of the world today, it happens because we are moving towards a digital world. And I am concerned that without paper money, our privacy will also completely disappear with paper money.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 28, 2022, 03:14:01 AM
Group F is very interesting. In the first round, Croatia failed to beat Morocco, and Belgium, with a lot of luck, won undeservedly against Canada.
As far as I can see, Belgium is still struggling today against Morocco and Croatia also has a very difficult match against Canada.
Croatia played very well in defense against Morocco, but the attack was almost non-existent.
I heard rumors that today, instead of the first striker of the national team, Kramaric, Livaja will play. We will see if it will help the Croatian national team.
Favorites Croatia and Belgium are struggling a lot in this group.

Among the teams in Group F, I believe that Croatia is going to be the one to advance to the next round. It is not clear to me why Belgium is playing so poorly in this tournament. Even though it has only been two matches, I think Belgium should have been doing better. In the match against Canada, Croatia had a favorable result. It is now up to Belgium to perform better in the next match.

In addition, Croatia will also need to continue to perform better in the future. You know, Croatia did not win both of the matches. Thus, it is also clear that they are not 100% free from any kind of danger at the moment. The first two positions are expected to be occupied by Croatia and Belgium, respectively, assuming there is no surprise in the outcome.

About the new players, I think even though Bayern Munich is a big team with good management, they have their own standards in signing players. That is, even though Bayern Munich has money, it is not easy for them to buy star players, because they really make a good assessment and selection of players to be recruited.
At least that way we can see how the purchases made by Bayern Munich so far haven't had too many failures, because most of the players that Bayern Munich have recruited, almost all of them can adapt and contribute well to the team.
As for players, the coach will know better what kind of characteristics they need, it's very clear the coach will have a standard for every player he chooses to be part of their squad, whichever team it's not just Bayern Munich. It's just that good management and finances will make it easier for them to bring in the players they are after, because they will have no difficulty in terms of the player's contract value.

I think Bayern Munich are actually finding it difficult to figure out which player they need. Because they will be missing Sadio Mané for a few matches after the World Cup as far as I know. And they have not brought in any player in his place. It wasn't really Xavi that signed Memphis,  I think it was Koeman who did. So, I don't blame Xavi if Depay doesn't fit into his pattern of play. Meanwhile the same Xavi is struggling to use Lewandowski and Rephilnah very well. It is not a matter of parking all star players together, but knowing how to use them resourceful will pay off.
It's true, Memphis Depay was recruited by Koeman to Barcelona but he has done what is best for Barcelona when Barcelona are still having trouble scoring goals in various matches. Barcelona lacked strikers before they bought Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and Adama Traure last season, but now they have many reliable strikers like Lewandowski and others.

If Barcelona's performance can be maintained in the second half of this season, then they will always lead the standings until the end. But it's difficult because the competition in Laliga is very uncertain.

It is obviously going to be difficult for Barcelona to continue performing like this. There is one thing they will have to ensure that they do, and that is to make sure that they are able to win the game against Real Madrid. You know, the team has already digested quite a lot of goals against Real Madrid so far this season.

So, Barcelona will have to continue to stay ahead of Real Madrid. They cannot make a single mistake. Otherwise, they will not be able to stay at the top of the table. It is inevitable that Real Madrid will win the title at the end of the season. But Barcelona does not have any pressure from the Champions League right now so they should be able to continue performing well.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins safe? on: November 27, 2022, 10:24:51 AM

Storing USDT or BUSD in any wallet we can control will be safe.

It's not as secure as you think, USDT and BUSD are centralized, even if you store them on your non-custodial wallet, they can freeze your coins at any time. Currently, we only have one decentralized stablecoin, which is DAI and it is arguably the most secure.

But I do not have the plan to hold stablecoin for the long term instead trying to buy bitcoin when the price is down. For me, a stablecoin is just a temporary place to save the value of my crypto assets before I convert it into bitcoin.

That's right, during bear season stable coins are a safe haven for us, they are still essential for them but as long as we never hold them for long we should be fine.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine the condition of people today if they had invested on Bitcoin in 2015 on: November 27, 2022, 09:35:41 AM
You don't have to regret missing out on bitcoin in 2015, as I can assure you, you wouldn't be brave enough to buy bitcoin if you knew bitcoin at the time. Simply because you know the result today you feel regret but if you don't know then you will never buy it. Currently, investing in bitcoin is still considered very early because many people think that bitcoin can still hit the $1 million mark in the future. If you really regret missing your chance in 2015, you can correct your mistake now.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Education on: November 27, 2022, 09:18:24 AM
Do you know that it will be very difficult for a country to decide this time not to embrace the adoption of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin to be mentioned, because i believe that the regulations of cryptocurrency is everywhere across the nations, but the only thing you should understand is that cryptocurrency government don't have the right of controlling a cryptocurrency in her nation irrespective the commands of government
Regulations are only in discussions now and very few governments are actually trying to control crypto because the people who run such governments know that it is not possible.

If there are regulations in place in future, possibly education about crypto will be imparted to the growing generation as well. Because with the rise of something new, scams related that also flood the system. Then awareness and learning how to avoid getting scammed would mean a lot. Still it is in the future and for now we should educate our near and dear ones if they are getting involved in cryptocurrency from whatever we have learnt.

Don't underestimate the ability of the government, they don't have crypto regulation yet because it really hasn't had too much of an impact on them yet. Although the crypto market has grown tremendously over the years, the number of people participating and knowing about it is still very low. But with the recent collapse, they will no longer be silent to let us free, regulation is inevitable.

Currently, cryptocurrency is just an investment and does not have any utility in life so it is not knowledge that everyone needs. So it doesn't make sense to include crypto in education, knowledge about crypto we can easily find on the internet and it doesn't take too long to learn them.

Napoli did have a bad experience when last season they had to be knocked out of the competition due to their own mistakes. They must use it as a whip so they don't repeat the same mistake. AC Milan, who are chasing with a distance of 8 points, also still have time as long as they can play by gaining 3 points from each match, while hoping that Napoli will make the same mistake again as last season. But I don't think Napoli will be stupid enough to miss the golden opportunity that is coming their way now.
The golden opportunity that has been held by Napoli this season will not be let go, because a good opportunity will never come twice at different times. So for this season it is clear that Napoli will really try not to make mistakes like before in order to get the Scudetto this season. There are a lot of teams in Serie A who are trying to catch up on points from Napoli who are currently leading the table and I think Napoli are very much aware of that now and obviously will always avoid making the slightest mistake this season.

Napoli has screwed it up before. It is obvious that a lot of people are very doubtful about their ability to claim the league title this time as well. However, I think that this time they will probably be able to actually win. They have all the advantages that they would have needed. If they cannot win the league title this time, I don’t know how they can.

As long as they win against weaker opponents and do not lose against tougher opponents, they will be in pretty decent shape. Can they do that, or will they not be able to do so? Furthermore, the coach will also have to make sure that the morale of the players remains high throughout the game. This time they have a really good chance and I hope they do not throw it away.

Since they filed for chapter11 I don’t think it will be operational again. If he never filed and managed to somehow get the lost funds back, then maybe it would of worked out but it’s out of his hands now.

Issue is this is going to be an expensive bankruptcy and lawyers will end up benefiting the most in this situation and not the users.

There are people buying claims on accounts for like 5 cents on the dollar, because that is how bad it looks.

There's still a chance FTX is back up and running, that's why they filed for chapter 11. According to chapter 11, FTX will have a certain time to settle with partners and customers and during bankruptcy, no one can enforce FTX's assets. If FTX convinces customers or any partners to agree to sponsor or buy back all of FTX's shares, they can return to normal operations. This has happened to traditional companies after filing for bankruptcy, but it has never happened with crypto companies. The possibility of FTX success is very difficult but there is still hope.
