And Oscar Dela Hoya continues to troll Canelo Alvarez with this poll,

https://twitter.com/AccordToBoxing/status/1777450073456267291

I think this will be bad for Munguia if his promoter as going to wake up the animal in Canelo. Oscar even poses a picture with Benavidez if I'm not mistaken. But I think this is jus to test Canelo in like a psyche war. But then again it could backfire big time, IMHO.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: "Various aspects of Bitcoin and crypto economics" on: April 08, 2024, 09:42:40 PM
For me though, I don't like to overthink and complicate things with regards to Bitcoin.

If government accept it as money or legal tender then good, just like what El Salvador has done, and they have reserves too. And with the incoming bull run, they will pose to make a lot of money.

If other doesn't want to accept it, authoritative government, then so be it.

We can't force Bitcoin to everyone, if you want to used it as hedge, store of value, sound money, it's up to you.

I'm just interested to see who will win the 3 ETH as I wasn't able to see it live because of timezone difference but here it is,

~snip~

And it will be awesome if he is a member of our community.

In any case, congrats to him, value at $10,000, that is a huge win and we also have to thank of course Metawin for another successful promotion.
Someone called Nobody.eth won 3 Ethereums. This user is a member of metawin since 2022 and I can't find anyone with this name on Bitcointalk, so I think he is not our community member but there is a chance he is our member and uses a different username.
This is event's link - https://metawin.com/competition/26835/

Yeah, probably, and that name looks or sounds familiar to me, I can't recall when I see that name. But I also search the forum and can't find that username.

Maybe he is a member, but chooses to a different user name. And not that he/she won, we will not known the individual, but it's good though, we want privacy and the winner will got it.

So next is SOL, I do agree that it's on the current hype as one altcoins that could give us a good return this bull run. And what a way to earn $500 worth thru Metawin's event.

I just search it on google but to many recommendation show so I maybe there's no exact way to track the winner and for sure he would choose to be anonymous since there are people don't usually brag their current achievement especially for the price he won in the contest. If he's here in forum then its good since for sure he's enjoying his winnings from metawin.

The hype on SOL is so huge that's why its smart move for metawin to ride with the hype since for doing such actions maybe they could attract a lot of people are now following the developments and latest happening in the ecosystem. Then maybe by doing this to many people will get attracted on their casino.

Yes, and that might take Metawin to the next level, as they are one step ahead of the competition by having SOL and so this is the results,

https://twitter.com/Meta_Winners/status/1777371382705270818

And that is huge money there.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: April 08, 2024, 08:46:33 PM

Until Canelo will be back to his old self in terms of taking risk against a strong opponent, people will continue to criticize him.

I don't think he will go back to taking risks after his loss to Bivol which is very ugly, I don't think he wants a repeat of that loss and the one that will likely give him another humiliating loss like that is David Benavidez, on his first loss against Mayweather his excuse is he is still young and learning but on his loss to Bivol he doesn't have a good excuse.

I agree, I don't see him going back to his old self of risking everything in the line, he is not getting any younger and probably that is the perks of getting mature in boxing. You know that you just have a couple of fights inside of you so why not go for the biggest paycheck with less risk and less damage physically? Specially when he lost to Bivol, he might not want another L in his record.

If he loses again to Benavidez that will ruin his legacy and will stop his claim as the greatest Mexican boxer,
Canelo doesn't want to lose to another Mexican he prefers other nationalities than to his fellow Mexican boxers.

I think Mexicans still consider Chavez Jr as their greatest Mexican boxer. Canelo could be on the top, but him not fighting Benavidez at 168lbs or 175lbs, will really hurt his legacy and even if he said that he will not be affected by what fans and analyst are saying.

166  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why not create a Gambling platform on Market narrative? on: April 06, 2024, 11:32:07 PM
A few years ago, NFT was launched and it set the market ablaze. Many NFT projects emerged at that time, which left investors confused. They began investing in new NFT projects without understanding them, resulting in significant losses. To this day, these investors have not been able to recover from their losses unless they sold their NFT.

Currently, meme coins are gaining popularity, with a new coin appearing in the market almost daily or weekly. The prevailing belief is that meme coins offer the highest ROI, which they are delivering.

Then, why not create a platform for predicting the performance of any cryptocurrency or a platform for predicting future trends in the market or both?

What are your thoughts on this?

Yes, as others have said, there is Futuur.

But I think the closest that we might get into this kind of prediction is Binary Options? Remember that time around 2014-2017 there was a signature campaign about this kind of platform? Secondstrade.com, but then again, it could be different from what the is trying to come up with.

168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing poker online better than offline? on: April 05, 2024, 09:15:15 PM
That's a hard no.  You have no idea who is colluding against you when you are online.  I was around for the whole full tilt debacle where there was cheating happening where people could see everyone's cards.  In person you can get an easier feel for tells too.  I'm a player who needs to see people's reactions, I don't just play the cards I play the people too.  In person is way better.

I think that's one angle to look at, and if I'm not mistaken, there are casinos that have been accused of colluding or at least you don't know that you are playing against a bot so obviously you will lose the game.

So for me, it's better to play offline, I mean that's where you will get the experience to become a good poker player. In online, you can just hide your face and think that you are good. But in face to face, sitting with someone, it's very different, lot of tension specially if both of you have a good hand and going all-in.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: April 04, 2024, 10:40:19 PM
Fundora’s freakish height caused this to become a really messy and bloody fight after Tszyu’s head clashed with Fundora’s elbow. I expected this fight to be stopped by the ringside doctor or the referee but the pace slowed down significantly and the injuries on both fighters didn’t get too much worse.

Despite the height difference Tszyu was still able to hit Fundora cleanly and it looked early on like he would get a clear win. Unfortunately, the cut was affecting his vision. This allowed Fundora to jab his way to a close decision victory. The situation with the titles now becomes complicated because Crawford successfully petitioned the WBO to become mandatory but PBC had other plans involving Errol Spence. Tszyu also deserves a rematch against Fundora.

I would agree, the referee should stop the fight as obviously that elbow really did damage to Tszyu. But they let it go throughout the next 10 rounds and we can that if affected Tim in the fight.

I think it boils down to Fundora's decision, he is the champion, so he can either go with the rematch in Australia, or fight Crawford as per WBO. So let's see what his decision is. But for me, I wanted a rematch for Tim, I think he deserves if after what happened in this fight. And Fundora should be all-in to settle this score. He will have to travel though to Tim's Australia.

It's one of the bloodiest fights I've seen, both fighters soaking wet with each other's blood Tim Tszyu loses his focus because the blood is dripping in his eyes and he doesn't want to slug it out with Fundora because the punches might aggravate and worsen those cuts.

I have it drawn in my scorecard, but it can either way, but both fighters deserve a rematch Fundora proves he is ready to become a champion.
Checking the poll I created no one among us voted for Fundora, so we can call this an upset?

Tim Tszyu by KO   - 8 (100%)
Tim Tszyu By Decision   - 0 (0%)
Fundora  By KO   - 0 (0%)
Fundora  By Decision   - 0 (0%)

Yes, we really didn't see that Fundora will win this fight. But then again, the elbow was really a big factor int his fight and it's just not the way we wanted it.

And so it looks like we will see Fundora vs Crawford, next but there are news that it could be delayed as Crawford is asking too much or demanding that he will get the lion share of the split. Also, Fundora will have to take a rest as he himself is injured with a broken nose I presumed. But it could happen at the end of the year, most likely November-December if both parties have agreed.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias VS Liam Paro IBF Super Lightweight June 15th Manati, Puerto Rico. on: April 04, 2024, 10:15:22 PM
A couple of years ago Paro was already ranked #1 by the WBO. I thought he was going to fight for the vacant belt when Josh was thinking of moving up in weight. But later on Teofimo replaced him at #1 and then fought and won the belt. Paro is fucked up in the rankings and even dropped outside the top 10 in the WBO's March ranking. Now he is finally getting his title shot but in an odd way, he is travelling to Puerto Rico where it is rare to see travelers win. I'm rooting for him but I guess he will get KO'd here. Hopefully, there is no Rican official in the fight to make it fair.

If my memory serves me right, he suffered a injury for more than year, then come back and fight Montana Love late last year. And so with that win, he is line up to fight Matias for the IBF title and it's good to see him back and given the chance at the belt.

Going to be a great fight, Matias name is hype right now, but this is going to be a big test for him as Paro is also a heavy hitter with more than 60%+ knockout ratio. I guess his team is willing to travel to PR not known to be a hostile country though, so I guess the risk is worth for Paro.

It's always great to see fights between undefeated fighters challenging for the title, I became an instant fan of Subriel after beating Ergashev I thought then that Ergashev was a better fighter and was more powerful than Subriel but it turned out Subriel is the strongest.

I like Subriel's style he is a pressure fighter who loves to take just to give his own, he will dare you to a slugfest, and then leave the better man the last man standing, this is the kind of style the boxing community wants to see.
I think he can take Paro, and since it's going to be held in Puerto Rico that's additional motivation for Subriel to beat Liam Paro.

It's Matias style, unconventional, has a relentless pace and there are times that he won't throw many punches and preserve his energy, but when he smells blood he will go for it. Another thing is that he is a slow started and so Paro should look at that and take advantage of it.

But it's Matias homecourt so expect that he will want to go for a knockout and impressed his fans here. No odds yet listed from our favorite sports bookies, but I'm seeing that Paro will be like 3:1 or 4:1 underdog is this fight. And I would agree if that is the odd as Matias will smoke Paro here.

174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin breaks 2021 ATH and hits $71k! on: March 31, 2024, 09:20:09 PM
As Bitcoin smashes its previous record highs even before the halving, it's a time of excitement for many. But let's not get too carried away. With the market becoming more unpredictable, we need to tread carefully. Some big players, like investment funds and ETFs, seem to be buying up Bitcoin aggressively, possibly to create scarcity and drive prices skyward. While this may seem like a good thing, there's a chance it's all part of a larger game they're playing. We need to keep our eyes open and not be blinded by the euphoria, as the market might have some surprises in store.

What do you think will be the larger game that they are playing? I mean the rules have changed since 2017, and that's where the time that we have seen that and so we obviously have adjusted already, we've seen what institutional money can do to that market.

But this is different, we have reach new all time high prior the halving and I think everyone is prepared already. If you are thinking of a dump, the price went to $62,000 and for me this is the lowest price already pre-halving, in my opinion. So the best thing to do is just keep on accumulating and look for the long term prospect of the market which is the bull run till next year.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: March 31, 2024, 08:25:40 AM
2 title fights in the undercard. Not bad. Hoping for Briedis to get back his old belt but it's a mission nearly impossible since he is inactive and is also nearing in his 40s. Beterbiev, if he becomes undisputed with a clear win over Bivol should move up and face the winner.

I wonder if there are also odds for Fury to make another excuses to cancel or delay this fight. Cheesy Anyways, he gets what he wants. He has a lot of time to train while trimming down in weight to become faster. But I am not counting out yet on Fury making another drama to get out of this unification if he performs bad in sparring sessions.

Not sure Fury wanted to make another excuses mate, I mean if he did then more than the belt itself, his will lose the respect of the biggest boxer broker right now which is HE Turki Alalshikh. And he might not get a chance to step on Saudi if he will do that.

So for me this is a go already and Fury even if he gets injured or what, should proceed.

I would also agree that the undercard is pretty lame, but I guess this fighter is willing to go to Saudi now and make their bones.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report: ExxonMobil Running Pilot Project to Supply Flared Gas for Bitcoin Mining on: March 31, 2024, 08:02:16 AM
I am just wondering why they are doing this? Is it for PR?

If it's for PR stunt then we should have heard news from them from time to time. But they started like 2 years ago and we haven't heard if it is a success or not or if they continue to. I assume they are as they have excessive supply and they don't want to waste it.

Reason being is that this is a extremely rich company and they don’t really need any of the bitcoin profits. I am guessing perhaps they did this project to see how it would go. If it lead to stable mining conditions and decent profits, they could say that those profits would all be donated to environmental charities.

Since there was no report since then, I am assuming it was very difficult to get a stable miner to function and they called it quits.

What do you mean? even rich people will go for free money whichever way they can. And so it's shooting two birds with one stone. They will look good from the environmentalist perspective as they recycle everything and then getting profits at the side, regardless how big or small it is.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navarrete Vs Berinchyk Vacant WBO World Lightweight Title May 18 2024 on: March 31, 2024, 07:37:10 AM

Fight is still far though, we haven't seen the kick off press conference yet, but for sure Navarette is very happy in moving up in weight as he will not have to drain himself again and have that chance to crack for another belt.

That was always the issue when he was in the Featherweight division and surprisingly he still performed better than expected, with Navarrete's frame and builds he can go up further but the higher you go up the more challenging opposition you're going to face.
He is still good in the Lightweight but he will be facing tough opposition trying to unite it, with Tank Davis and Shakur you'll have a very tough challenge ahead.

And the higher you go up, most likely you will lose your power as well, his frame is somewhat in between, but we have seen the he indeed has problems with making 130 lbs. Although he could have clean it up the division at Jr. Lightweight and fought O'Shaquie Foster, the risk is very high for him.

So better move to the new division Lightweight become a champion with his chance here, then maybe fought rank boxers. But it will be very difficult for him as we have Tank and Shakur as well or others as this division is pretty much stack up. However, he was given a chance by the WBO so why not take advantage of that.

As we have seen, Navarette cannot easily stop his opponents lately unlike when he was at 122 and 126. He's got a huge frame so he can move up. But he will becoming slower.

It would've been great if Navarette tried unifying the belts at 130 first before moving up into another division. But his team also knew that he seem to have reached his limits already and is becoming beatable lately. So it is better to lose trying to get a belt in another division than lose to another champion at 130.

If Navarette becomes the WBO champion at 130, he might only face the IBF champion since Kambosos and Loma are with TR. WBC champ Shakur already said that he will not renew his contract. While the coward and cherry picker WBA email champ Tank Davis keeps hiding under the PBC umbrella. Cheesy

Yeah, it was really a good decision by the team to move him up, and he admitted that he has time making the weight that's why there is sign like in the Wilson fight that he is vulnerable already.

So he is really stepping up the plate and the competition here starting with Berinchyk. And he will be the favorite here and becoming a champion here will open doors for him and obviously bigger paycheck as the risk is going to be bigger as well as he will face bigger names.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 31, 2024, 07:16:51 AM

179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 31, 2024, 06:55:05 AM
I only get to see the highlight of the fight it is a massacre of Isaac Cruz on Rolly Romero, Isaac Cruz is unstoppable pummeling him with a barrage of punches.

Isaac is very motivated to hurt Romero right from the start because of the insult and Romero thinks that he can hurt Isaac but the Pitbull just eats up his punches.
This is the second loss of Romero and the second stoppage of his career maybe this will end his bragging and insulting his opponents.

It's just so funny that the two fighters who stop him are small guys who he insulted, I guess this is the end of the road for Romero.

Yeah, that's what really happens when someone underestimate his opponent, they are going to regret it later. So the hype of Isaac Cruz is for real, he is now at the top of 140 lbs and a champion and so he also take notice to the likes of Subriel Matias or even Teo Lopez.

But I wanted him to defend it first before going with the big boys, he needs to proved that it's no fluke winning against the overrated Romero. As for Rolly, well he needs to go back to the drawing board but I do not see him as the top tier 140 lbs.

^ Interesting as well is the fight in the women's division, Seniesa & Valle. This is for the undisputed minimum belt. Both women make the weight, Seniesa Estrada 104.2 lbs vs. Yokasta Valle 104.3 lbs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z7KK9l_kdM

Here is the video where they exchanges not so pleasantries.

And as per the link given, both are in total shape.

And this lady put up a good fight as expected, it went to the distance though, as Seniesa Estrada outpoints Yokasta Valle, 97-93 from the 3 judges scoring at ring side.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UAcmIJ2WvI

I agree with the winner here, as I have said, it's close by Estrada has more pop from his pump and good techniques throwing it. As compare to Valle who I think is just throwing everything and his punch doesn't have that snap that Estrada has.

Maybe we will see a rematch?
