We should call them keychains.  Wink
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we now charge blockstreamcore for the next MTGOX case because tx not done? on: June 16, 2016, 08:36:45 AM
Core developers do not have any responsibility in this case, there were/are options to increase the block size people didn't adopt them, people chose the 1MB limit, bitcoin has the same transaction capacity since ever, you can't blame it for being what it always was...
1603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here - few questions about purchasing Bitcoin on: June 16, 2016, 08:23:54 AM
1) He cannot, unless you give your identity or he is able to get it from someone you gave it to.

The best thing to do is to lose your coins trace in the blockchain, you can 'mix' the coins or just send them to some place that has a hot wallet, like a casino, an exchange, a wallet like Coinbase or Xapo.

2) An email address is as anonymous as a bitcoin address.

You can also make a QR code with your address and seller just scan it and send you the coins. Smiley

3) You probably don't need that kind of anonymity, but you can use Blockchain.info through TOR:

https://blockchain.info/wallet/anonymity

Never use shady services, you'll lose your coins.
1604  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WB21.com - Free bank account with also deposit in Bitcoin on: June 15, 2016, 05:22:42 PM
There's no fee for debit card cash withdrawal, that's interesting...
1605  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need help recovering a .file on: June 15, 2016, 04:50:49 PM
Handy Recovery and GetDataBack, these two "saved my life" a few times.

You can also try TestDisk and PhotoRec, although I haven't see .file in the list of file types to search in PhotoRec.

Good luck.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you "manipulate" the price of bitcoin? on: June 15, 2016, 03:42:55 PM

Never forget, RIP Bearwhale 2014. Cheesy
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you "manipulate" the price of bitcoin? on: June 15, 2016, 02:10:30 PM
The only case I know is the Willy Bot pump, and even that I have my doubts, check it out:

https://willyreport.wordpress.com/2014/05/25/the-willy-report-proof-of-massive-fraudulent-trading-activity-at-mt-gox-and-how-it-has-affected-the-price-of-bitcoin/

Other situations, like you said, people will end up losing money.
1608  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency? on: June 15, 2016, 08:24:20 AM
Everyone would like the bitcoin is accepted in all online and real stores and, as as mentioned in the title, what would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency?

Bitcoin is a legal currency, at least where I live it is.

It cannot be accepted everywhere because it cannot handle that kind of transaction volume, bitcoin is more suited for a store of value asset, like gold.
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmations are getting faster ? on: June 14, 2016, 03:10:01 PM
We cant all fit in to 1mb anymore.

"We" won't be able to fit into 2MB either. Like I said before, your logic involves infinite, unrestrained block growth, which damages decentralisation.

This is a problem that requires careful thought, not the first idea that comes into some amateur's head. If Satoshi had thought like that, he would never have come up with Bitcoin in the first place. Innovation required, not kicking the can down the road.

The possibilities here are not just 1 or infinity, there are a lot of numbers between those two...

But if I get rich without bitcoin actually being used by a lot of people I don't really care, I only have to make 1 transaction, to the exchange. Smiley
1610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmations are getting faster ? on: June 14, 2016, 02:51:37 PM

Now 21 fees have moved up. From 50 to 70 sat.
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

All the 50 sat payers, who paid the recommended fee half an hour ago are now stuck, underpaying.
Spam to you?

You're full of problems, and not interested in credible solutions. Constant negativity only attracts negative people, do try to come up with something more appealing, it's possible someone might even listen to you

I'm not seeing how this increases transaction capacity...
1611  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Alien Faucet - 4010 Satoshi an HOUR (limited) on: June 14, 2016, 02:48:36 PM
today I didn`t recive payment from aline faucet, its say that have been sent but no money on my wallet?
Why is that, are they gone to scam?
Last time I got money

1612  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoin Market Capitalization (newbie) on: June 14, 2016, 02:43:39 PM
The big jump you see is probably Ethereum.

I don't think you can say there's a bullish altcoin market, some altcoins get popular and its market cap increases a lot, like Ethereum, but if don't bet in the right coins you will lose your money.
1613  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most useful strategy in trading? on: June 14, 2016, 02:33:19 PM
Buy low, sell high.

Plus:

Realize your gains, don't realize your losses.
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmations are getting faster ? on: June 14, 2016, 02:01:59 PM
i still have 4 transaction waiting for confirmation.. just suck they are 4 hours ago.

You'll probably need to wait a lot more if you paid less than 50 satoshi/byte.

Newer transactions with bigger fee will take precedent, if transaction rate doesn't go down your transactions will never confirm and eventually will get drop.

1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a long-term strategy to deal with "lost" bitcoins? on: June 14, 2016, 01:26:36 PM
That's the plan, they get lost, more valuable the rest of our coins are.

Think of it as a donation to the rest of us. Wink

1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmations are getting faster ? on: June 14, 2016, 09:47:06 AM
If you pay high enough fee you always have fast confirmations.

BTW network is going shit again, 20 MB unconfirmed transactions:

1617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fucking Chinese! on: June 13, 2016, 01:56:36 PM
Yeah mate Bitcoin has been acting absolutely crazy the past couple of days. I don't know what's going on but it seems the price hike is due to the Chinese buying up tons of coins but I am really concerned with what will happen to the Bitcoin price when they start selling.
I think a panic sell by the Chinese will create a domino effect that could crash the price back to the $250 realm. I am going to sell when it gets to $1000 because I think this will be the tipping point.

Just a small story from 2013:

Quote
I sold my entire lot at $200.
Last time is was the Cyprus effect. Now I see many threads on here talking up the China effect. Baidu alone cannot justify the price rises we are seeing. It's not 'different this time'. Baidu is just one small step of many, and the price should increase a bit based on this. But exponential growth - come on, really?
It'll come back down just like last time, then I'll buy back in.
Update: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oz6x9/long_term_holder_why_i_sold_all_my_btc_200/ccx9cpz

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oz6x9/long_term_holder_why_i_sold_all_my_btc_200/

This was the last time bitcoin was that cheap.

And the update:

Quote
Ouch, I'm getting a lot of hate on this thread.
I bought a lot bitcoin in March as an investment at $80. To my astonishment it went up to well over $200, then all the way back down to $80. I kicked myself for not selling at $200 as I was only looking to make some money. So I forgot about it and waiting for it come back around, and then sold at the target I always had in mind - $200. Took the money, thanks very much.
I'm not a bitcoin evangelist. I'm a speculator, and I did alright (eventually).
If it takes a big dive, sure ill buy back in. Otherwise I'll take the cash. Either way I'm happy. I'm not going to cry if it goes to $1000 or whatever. I took a healthy profit. I'm not chasing losses.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oz6x9/long_term_holder_why_i_sold_all_my_btc_200/ccx9cpz

And guess what, a month later it really went to $1000.
1618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Over $700 and $11,000,000,000 market cap. on: June 13, 2016, 12:58:59 PM
End of 2013/early 2014 bagholders are beginning to breath again, finally they'll get their money back after all this time. Smiley
1619  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quick Survey: When will you Sell your Bitcoin? on: June 13, 2016, 09:44:11 AM
Only at some new all time high, if it gets to $1500 I'll sell a good percentage.

I think it's risky to sell now, this bull run will go for quite a while.
1620  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before and After the Halving. on: June 06, 2016, 05:05:49 PM
Stay away from mining, buy bitcoin and hold until you think the price is right to sell, or to spend.

Don't give too much attention to the halvening.
