Be careful with DOTA2 today guys, there is a new patch out there today and there is no telling how well/quickly will the teams adapt. That being said I am following your pics for today so hopefully not much surprises.

What is in a patch? bug fixes? or new characters, items and spells and things?

1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: April 22, 2020, 08:10:59 AM

Sure, there is no problem with what Globb0 is attempting to do here, which is

To see what we can learn over time and when we were right or wrong.

This is a learning thread from my point of view. and then a record so you cant mysteriously shift to the opposite all the time (like all the fakers) or forget the wrong calls.

Im bringing in a post from elsewhere this morning....   thanks Toxic

Shall we talk about....bitcoin?   Shocked

The Corona crawl continues...

Bitcoin still seems to working...not much other than that to report today. The consolidation between $6.95k and $6.75k is showing us some resiliency as legacy markets continue to take a beating.

I think we will see some acceleration in movement as we get closer to the end of the week. Orca in the waters brings change.

Looks to be a little bit of a spinning top forming, usually a indicator signaling traders are unsure which way the market wants to go. #dyor

Definitely getting this feeling.

I suppose it will go and catch a lot of people out 1 way or the other.

A high number of deaths has been reported in the last 24 hours in the UK. The season will be completed but it’s going to be at least 6 weeks before a ball is kicked & 100% it will all be behind closed doors. At least it’ll be on TV for us.

Nowadays, It's nothing but lifescores instead of Livescores as I've been familiar with for the almost the entirety of my adulthood, Honestly, It's tiring!!!

Ozil's has been receiving massive criticism from various parties the latest being Piers Morgan 1, after Ozil along with a very few Arsenal players refused the new 12.5% pay cut proposed by the club 2, The players initially rejected the trending 30% pay cut and the 12.5% cut is the lowest I've read about from a club and I believed shouldn't have been a problem for any of the players, at least not the club's highest paid player.

For some people a contract is a contract.

Would they have added 10% if it was some amazing thing instead of a disaster? unlikely

Footballers still need to make all their career in a few years also.

1604  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk SwC Championship Poker Series(50 mBtc added by SwC) on: April 21, 2020, 06:48:45 PM
multi-tabling can be good too. playing only one table (especially full ring) can feel super slow online.
Multi table is a disaster for me. I can not focus in either table LOL
In this short period of my poker experience I learned that waiting for the good card and then hit is the best strategy unless you are too unlucky. Whenever I lost my patience I ended up giving away all my chips but there are also times when I have waited patiently, I was running out of chips but one good hand got me back everything with a very strong candidate in the table.

I had like a mental overload from multiple tables.

A real meltdown and I messed up- all the games at once.

[DOTA 2] My picks and predictions for today:

Virtus Pro - Team Spirit: Team Spirit 1.5, 2.25 @ BetOnBit

All matches are best of 3 series and betting risk is normal to high. The biggest risk is on VP vs Spirit match. VP did beat Spirit 2-0 in the ESL One last weekend, however i expect them to be a little bit relaxed now after their big win, and in this situation i see a opportunity for team spirit to take 1 map. I think VP are big favourites here, but Spirit showed us in ESL One that they could surprise us. Hopefully they can finally take a map off VirtusPro. Amazing odds ~ 2.25 odds on that. I'm willing to do a big risk here.

~snipped~

Really digging this pick. As what others called this scenario, this is a typical "letdown" spot for Virtus Pro. Don't get me wrong, they'll still win this series but I don't think it will be a 2-0 scenario. Team Spirit will try to win at least 1 game after the last time they got rekt by VP.

Ohhh, it's here guys. And to be honest, that subscription fee is very fair and would be a great source of information regarding Esports betting. Grab your spots now guys. So, just to be clear, we still have the rest of April to signup for it, right?

I think it didn't work out. Blown on all the bets for today. Spirit ruined the bets I had

Who are the main competitors to Monero? I mean technology wise. Is there another crypto with a better privacy technology?

Well mimblewimble protocol coins are, but not those little scammy "projects"
hope you know, about who exactly im talking about

We have waited so long for the scam project to fail.

I wonder if they will ever?

Perhaps there will always be a bigger fool and they will get away with it. At least the scammers will be rich and gone by the time people notice

1609  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: April 21, 2020, 04:26:37 PM
The daily does look beary right now.

RSI continues to look flat in the middle

Looking in the hourly there is almost an essence of a head and shoulders pattern.

Hmmmm

1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: April 21, 2020, 12:12:52 PM
Edit: -35$! now. Didn't expect that.

Damn i went way to far with this off-topic. Its BTC TA thread not oil thread. Sorry for this. Back to BTC. RED ALLERT.

You will get payed by buying crude oil
And hold for long time and then sell it
Twice profit Cool

I don't know if you will, what does the negative number even mean? how can something cost less than 0 in the future?
1611  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: April 21, 2020, 12:10:50 PM
You're a real glass half full kind of guy, eh? Smiley

Only when i'm talking about bitcoin Smiley

Meanwhile OIL price.

link

You still call it "real price"? Its contract price for delivery oil in May it may even go to ~0. This price shows not only shortage of oil demand but also short term shortage of storage and no trader will buy it now because he has to sell it today/tomorrow and a bunch of guys who bought month ago at 20$ are saving money selling now. I might be wrong (not the first time Smiley ) but it will close and next contract will open at ~20$ range.

Edit: -35$! now. Didn't expect that.

Negative interest rates, now You pay me to take oil? wtf?

I definitely failed in the predicting the future sweepstakes 2010 I got none of these right.

Working at the moment I will get to the charts later, I fear mor of the same old side rumble though ofc

Thanks for this, I have backed the top 3 shit or bust. Lets go.

You mentioned squads, "the second VirtusPro squad"

I have noticed lots of teams playing multiple matches in different competitions. Does this mean they have a much bigger squad like a football team?

Do they pick a team for the competition? or do I need to watch out for accidentally betting on a "b team" who aren't very good compared to their "a team"?

Thanks for your patience, I'm way more bought into the esports idea now.

1613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 21, 2020, 11:19:04 AM
Here is just the compliance talk portion from the Moneroversary stuff:

Thanks for the link, an interesting talk.

Also some potential good resources for people who may need them.

1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Corona Virus Scams on: April 21, 2020, 10:43:09 AM
And a lot of negative reviews.

Good point, I search out the reviews for everything I ever do on the internet these days. Lesson learned.

What about the older and more gullible people though? they are an easy mark.

Plus no one can see what's going on and step in, like in real life.
1615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 21, 2020, 08:49:03 AM
I have got the hang from Rand of using handicaps like +1.5

Underdog handicaps are best way to be in profit over longer periods of time. That way we actually bet against the herd and negate low odds problems. That is my favorite way of betting in Tennis and now in Esports. Odds on favorites are often very small and real difference between teams is rarely that big.

Seems like today we don't have much too bet on, slow day at Esports.

Thanks for affirming that Trofo

Why don't you upgrade to 15.0.5  Roll Eyes
Didn't know there was a new version!  Thanks for telling me, upgraded and running 15.0.5 now.
I guess it wasn't publicized because it's not a hard fork?

You are welcome  Grin
Just drop by on the official homepage ones a week and check for updates, respective to the githubrepo, that's always a good idea  Wink

An perhaps someone who is keeping up to date wouldn't mind a post here to alert people.
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 21, 2020, 08:27:25 AM

And these are the reasons why we still bet on it. Right?  Wink

Yeah and favourites don't pay even worse if it was all certain.

Ill look closer at the underdogs vs return.

I have got the hang from Rand of using handicaps like +1.5

Yeah all sorts in there lots of talks of course.

But also a quiz and some other happy birthday bits.

That's a Nepalese flying donkey. It is in fact carrying the soldier who has just has his legs blown off by a landmine.

The highly intelligent flying donkeys helped people much in the way dolphins shielded people from sharks.

1958 Algerian war.. and donkey was dying from the starvation so soldier rescuing him.

Very interesting story indeed: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/soldier-carrying-donkey/

Quote
Nineteen fifty-eight proved a very successful year for the Legion in another respect — it was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Distinguished Service by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and a similar recognition from the RSPCA in London, after a legionnaire of the 13e DBLE [13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign Legion] rescued a starving donkey and returned it to his base where, renamed Bambi, it served the unit as a mascot. Interest was pricked among the “Anglo-Saxons” after London’s Daily Mail carried a photo of the donkey being carried on the back of a legionnaire. Attempts to award the Certificate of Merit to the generous legionnaire foundered upon [his maintaining anonymity]. However, the Chief Secretary of the RSPCA was informed by the Legion that numerous mascots, “running from the bear to the lizard, passing through monkeys, sand foxes, storks and other birds, hedgehogs, without forgetting of course the multitude of dogs and cats [that] follow each unit in its movements. In certain [units], the number of animals is greater than the strength in manpower.” Especially gratifying was the knowledge that Bambi “at the present time is enjoying an enviable destiny and that he is sharing the life of our legionnaires and even … their beer.”

Would be great to see a picture of those animals following the units.

While the point of the mis-captioned picture is still true I think, it would carry a lot more weight if the story had been true. Thanks for sharing that, I guess I'm part of the fake news problem, lol.

At some point when supply comes cheaper than extraction they will be shutting down operations and switching to buyer mode.

Relaxation of quarantine and unjamming of distribution systems would likely case a resurgence in oil price.

The top point was the same at some points in BTC history. Buying directly was more efficient than buying mining equipment and then mining.
