I was thinking something similar like a coin that could be mined on mobile devices and cell phones only, so that anyone could participate and earn coins for helping the integrity of the network. Not sure how practical it would be but it would be awesome to enable anyone worldwide with anything to be able to mine, earn coins and improve their lives

Will pay 8 LTC per 1000 FC or 0.15 BTC per 1000 FC
Open to negotiation.

I've moved it back to mainspace as I think (with the new sources) it's now notable enough.
Great start - I will have it up to 1000 words by Monday. It's coming!

Since when shooting oneself in the foot is a good business strategy? Any kind of strategy for that matter?
I'm not so sure the shooting your own foot analogy applies. Bitcoin could save WU millions in infrastructure (if they discarded their incredibly antiquated network and switched over to the blockchain, for instance). And the overwhelming majority of the population of the planet does not have access to the items necessary to obtain bitcoins themselves (access to the internet, the ability to transfer money into and out of an exchange, a way to securely hold the coins and so on). If you assume that Bitcoin isn't going to die any time soon, piggybacking onto it might just be the smartest thing Western Union and Moneygram could do. Yes it would be a way to future proof themselves for sure.

If they provided physical locations worldwide (Western Union offices) where people can buy and sell Bitcoins in person, and send them to another BTC wallet (like a family member on the other side of the world), if they wanted to as well. There are plenty of ways they could integrate BTC into their busines model. In fact I'd say the first business to enable walk in purchases of Bitcoin at physical in-store locations around the globe (making BTC far more accessible to all) will make a killing.

I think it's awesome Bitcoin is at least on the radar of companies like this. When the price stabilises more (at $1000 , and as adoption keeps growing, it's only a matter of time until one of these companies adopts BTC and the market cap soars.

Thanks to all for the help and the patience!! The final version of my logo: Do you like it or you prefer the previous ones? Wow I really like this one as it shows how Devcoin is all about creating - with the pixellated coin. Somehow it captures the hackerness of the whole thing.

I'm mining in the client itself (but I set up a my .conf in appdata)
Is it normal to see nothing at all but the client tells me I'm mining?

It was warmer 10k+ years ago. And really warm in the distant past. The concern is about now.
Which is my point. You're looking at the last 6 hours and screaming "Crash!" We're actually still recovering from the "Little Ice Age" No one is denying that but anthropogenic climate change is also scientifically proven fact according to current laws of physics and models. Both truths exist at once it is not an either / or proposition. Might be time to dust off the tin foil hat

and all those scientists got nice big research grants out of their findings.....
So do scientists who are researching cures for cancer. What's your point?

Why don't you actively promote these solutions in other places and do something about it instead of bitching about environmentalists and scientists who actually made us aware of this problem in the first place? You do realise true environmentalists are looking at the solutions too? What is this bs.
