Write up a support ticket to MtGox with as much detail about the transaction as possible.  Hopefully they can verify it and correct it on their end.

You seem to have a significantly lower number of players right now than you did earlier on (3-4 tickets played at once vs 16-20).  What do you attribute this to?

Wink I see your fractal snake oil and raise you my Heisenberg compensators.

Sig worthy Smiley
But not sig worthy enough to put in your sig.

@ OP - My question is, what happens when the Gallipian indicator reaches full capacitance with regards to the most recent price drop?  Wouldn't that cause alleminasion of the tangent clauses?
1644  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CASASCIUS PHYSICAL BITCOIN - In Stock Now! (pic) on: March 06, 2013, 07:10:59 AM
They would have no security features like my other coins (so they don't have the same utility value), but many times you don't need that utility.

So these would be intended for single use?  e.g., If I gave it as a tip, the server would either keep it for saving, or redeem it or would send it to a cash-out/exchange service?  (i.e., rather than spend it by handing it over to someone else?)

Yes, if I can do them in a laser machine and not have to put a sticker on them, I can crank out thousands of them in a single morning.  I can write software to run the laser... and make it so I lay out 150 coins flat, hit start, and it engraves them all with unique private keys in a single batch over the course of several minutes, as well as issuing a script so I can batch-fund them.  If I sell the whole thing as a single pack and don't have to deal with stickering or data-entering each coin, the price can come way down.
That sounds awesome.  Smiley
1645  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 81btc on: March 06, 2013, 07:09:20 AM
Regardless of how badly he has harassed you, it doesn't change the facts that:
1) He paid you for silver
2) He didn't receive said silver

If your insurance is bad, that is YOUR problem, not his.  You should have reimbursed him immediately, and then attempted to collect from your insurance to recover the funds for yourself.  Offering to reimburse him for half of what he paid and expecting him to be thankful to you for it is absurd.

You complain about thin margins - well, that's the game you play.  It doesn't matter how many similar-sized orders it would take to recover the loss, the onus is on you to do so, not on your customer.  If you want thicker margins, then increase your prices.

The only exception I see here is if you believe the customer is scamming you.  Are you making such a claim?

Sorry Coinabul, but you're in the wrong on this one.  The customer deserves either a full refund or the correct amount of silver re-shipped to him.
1646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Auto-sweeping new funds that show up at an address? on: March 06, 2013, 02:50:06 AM
Cool!  It's not perfect, but certainly a better solution than what we have now.

To be clear, this fee would apply to both MtGox-generated addresses and user-imported addresses?

Nope, only to user-imported addresses. For MtGox-generated addresses, we assume the private key is secure.
Thanks for the clarification.  I would definitely like to see an optional fee feature implemented...!
1647  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: March 05, 2013, 10:46:57 PM
I love the early comments in this thread...

Will this eventually become the world's first million-dollar pizza?
Erm, yes, yes it will.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upgrade bitcoin.org on: March 05, 2013, 10:38:13 PM
This is amazing, well done.  I've been waiting for an update like this to the bitcoin.org page for quite some time.

When can/will it go live?

Thanks!

It's up to the developers I guess. So far, this project gained their attention and I've adapted the content to a lot of feedback already. I think it's just a matter of time before it is considered mature enough to be used.

As Mike said earlier, this is only a starting point. We are probably not going to wait for the FAQ to be complete before publishing the first version.

At least two issues that remain are :

1. The design (many people seemed to say that the current design needed improvement, but didn't go into details).
2. Blockchain/my wallet (there is so far as many people that wants blockchain in the "choose-your-wallet" page then people that wants to remove it)
I think the design is excellent myself, but I don't really have an eye for graphical things.  I would add that I am a huge proponent of blockchain.info, and definitely would like to see it stay as a wallet listed on the site.
1649  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 3D Printing Service for BTC http://www.3dp4btc.com on: March 05, 2013, 10:35:13 PM

So, you would be able to print based on the .STL file?

Yep, as long as the surfaces are well oriented and it's without holes.  Some scanned objects can have artifacts which need to be cleaned up prior to printing.  In general,  STL files are the only thing we currently accept as a data format, though it's a pretty common export format at this point.   IF someone has an OBJ that they REALLY want to print, we can probably help them out if we have to.
Neat!  I am very likely to try this out once I have some more coins on hand.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Auto-sweeping new funds that show up at an address? on: March 05, 2013, 10:33:20 PM
I think it would be a good addition.  If an address has been compromised, it might be well worth it to a person to automatically add a small fee to process any incoming transactions and have that much more of an edge against whoever else also has the private key.  I think to avoid spending extra Bitcoins, simply disable the fee if the incoming transaction is smaller than the fee is set to.

Thanks for the extra information.

I believe if we add a 0.0005 BTC fee for any transfer below 0.01 BTC but > 0.0005 BTC, it should speed up things a lot.

We'll add a setting to enable this soon. Problem is this will be enabled account-wide, and not per address (because there is no way to modify an address afterward).

For transfers <= 0.0005 BTC, I guess the only solution is to wait for multiple ones to appear until sum > 0.0005
Cool!  It's not perfect, but certainly a better solution than what we have now.

1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Auto-sweeping new funds that show up at an address? on: March 05, 2013, 10:11:06 PM
Mtgox doesn't pay fees for the sweeps or wait until there is an adequate balance, they send transactions out that have little hope of block inclusion if you send the address a stream of satoshis.
Thanks.

Is there any service or application or method to auto-sweep funds with top priority as soon as they arrive?  If not, how difficult would it be to build such an application?

Maybe I'll ask etotheipi if he wants to include it in Armory.  Wink

We could add the ability to have a fee added, but it means that you could end spending bitcoins without warning, which is a bad idea.

For information, sweep happens as soon as we see a non confirmed transaction for your bitcoin address.

It would be cool if you could scan shapes with a microsoft kinect controller and get them printed out.

While feasible, this would be beyond the services which we are currently willing to offer.  If you have something in particular which you want we might be able to find something similar or design it from scratch.

I do know some folks who 3D scan things - it can be a big pain.    I'm personally waiting the development of open source photo-based scanning software which will stitch together images and export STL files, at which time we will be set. (You will find that there are a number of efforts on this front currently if you search around.)
That sounds like 123D Catch (more or less).  Because I took pictures of a kleenex box, and it auto-generated an STL file.  These are my export options on autocad's website:

Hi gents,

We're trying to start a service like this, please check here for more information:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=148902.msg1580372#msg1580372
Excellent, thank you!
1654  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: March 05, 2013, 09:59:56 PM
Feature request!  I'd like a feature where Armory auto-sweeps arriving funds from an imported private key to another known private key.

Potential use-cases include:
- The private key related to a publicly published donation address has been stolen.  The legitimate owner of said private key would like to sweep any newly-arriving coins to a different address.
- A Casascius coin has been redeemed.  Just in case more coins are sent to the address in the future (accidentally or purposefully), the owner of the coin would like to sweep any newly-arriving coins to a different address.
- Someone purchases a premium Bitcoin address, and to limit potential liability, would like to sweep any newly-arriving coins to a different address.

Obviously, those who work to compromise other people's private keys could use the feature as well, but I think some of them have probably already programmed their own sweeping mechanisms, giving the average consumer a disadvantage without any such tools available to them.  Releasing a feature like this in a manner easily accessible to the public would help to level the playing field.

Ideally, the feature should include functionality to set the transaction fee on a per-address basis.  For example, a high-profile donation address might warrant a fee of 0.01 BTC per transaction to be sure all transactions are forwarded properly.  An address that is expected to receive only small amounts might warrant a much smaller fee.

Thoughts?

I remember back in 2002-ish buying hamburgers at McD's for $0.39/ea.  Now you're lucky if anything labeled "burger" can be found for less than a dollar.
1658  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Butterfly labs refusing escrow for $300k order on: March 05, 2013, 08:52:31 PM
Just got off the phone with butterfly labs and they refuse to give a discount or do escrow for 10 mini rigs worth $300k.  There is no way I will prepay that money while praying for 4 months. The guy was also extremely unfriendly.
I'm sure BFL is happy to let you wait until they fill all current preorders and you don't have to wait 4 months anymore.
