1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now PayPal is getting a patent on Bitcoin stuff on: May 27, 2016, 10:07:12 AM
Indeed they are maybe gonna do this so this is a good and nice thing if you ask me, a lot of people are thinking that paypal is hating the bitcoin but this is not true.
Well,I'm pretty sure they're "hating" the bitcoin as they are the first ones to impose anti crypto buying/selling through paypal. Since they have realized its unstoppable and only after seeking the benefits of the revolution, they have no other option but to support it.Its profitable for them, that way.Let's just hope ,no service taxes are charged for use of coins while trading with merchants [in regards to patents].There won't be any point of the patent otherwise.

FYI, Paypal is doing bitcoin payments for quite a while:

1642  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $475 on bitstamp!! on: May 27, 2016, 10:01:12 AM
It will cool off when transactions don't go through, it seems to already start happening, unless all the action happens in some exchange.

Also, volume is still very low...
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Gambling" VS "Hyips" what is the difference? on: May 24, 2016, 12:55:05 PM
Gambling sites can be honest businesses, HYIPs will eventually scam everyone left, that's the difference.

Is there any source for this?
1646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin again mentioned at TED (climate change related) on: May 24, 2016, 10:08:44 AM
I think he is suggesting the IMF should start a "global" digital currency that is regulated by IMF. However, I think this is very different from bitcoin which is not regulated by anyone.

It's "regulated" by the development team, or the most influential members of the development team, one even wants to start destroying bitcoins...

If you want speed and reliability then bitcoin is not what you need.

Buy low, sell high, realize your gains, don't realize your losses.

1653  Economy / Economics / Re: I have 12 BTC in my Account, How should I invest this?? on: May 20, 2016, 08:08:18 AM
You should not invest!

In bitcoinland "investing" is pretty much the same as losing your coins.
1654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~$10,000 in cryptos stolen off my desktop from an encrypted folder, how, why? on: May 19, 2016, 01:02:56 PM
You are the second person in the last couple weeks that has had btc/crypto hacked out of a desktop wallet.  How can this happen to an encrypted wallet?
does this prove that desktop wallet is not too secure to save a lot of bitcoin? whereas a lot of people already say that the desktop is already very secure wallet for storing bitcoin
then why are there some people who lost their desktop bitcoin wallet ?

It's as secure as you can keep your computer secure, if you use Windows and install all kind of crap you find around the interwebs you gonna have a bad time...

Well, does it work?

If it does, for how long?
1656  Economy / Economics / Re: How many % of your portfolio is in bitcoin ? on: May 18, 2016, 02:01:11 PM
In crypto-currencies around 50%, in bitcoin less than 10%.
1657  Other / Archival / Re: Do you have paypal account even though you have bitcoin? on: May 18, 2016, 12:51:50 PM
Not mutually exclusive.

Paypal and bitcoin serve completely different purposes, Paypal for safe and fast online shopping, bitcoin is an investment.
1658  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchaim deducted $100 fee for $112 transaction on: May 10, 2016, 01:38:47 PM
I think if it is a huge amount, usually the miner who found the block will kindly return the fee to the sender. However, since the amount is less than 0.25BTC, the miner will just assume it was just normal. I guess it has already been distributed evenly to the pool.

That may be a lot of money to the person who lost it...

So, what if it was already distributed, can't they take it from new funds?
Of course they can. However, the pool has no obligations to do so. The pools and its miners are looking for profit and not running a charity. It is just absurd for them to take responsibility for a user's mistake while losing out on the profits. If it gets distributed(after a few blocks) for BTCC, there is no reason for them to refund it.

You do realize it's not 'honest' money...

When someone messes up your change and you end up with more money do you take the money and think you deserve it because the cashier is too stupid to handle the money?

And also because you're not running a charity...

Fuckin' poor excuse of a human being!
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anatomy of the Bitcoin scaling debate, Part II: Bitcoin Core development/develop on: May 06, 2016, 02:30:07 PM
Transactions have been fast as lightning lately. Faster than they have ever been actually.

Can any of you developer guys out there confirm whether or not scaling has already taken place?

I used to wait several hours for a transfer to confirm on LocalBitcoins. I specifically remember waiting more than 6 hours back in november.

Over the last month or so all of my transactions have been confirming within 10 minutes

Anyone have any insight into this?

No, nothing happened.

https://btc.com/block

Just people making less transactions...
1660  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Debit/Card to Bitcoin Processor? on: May 06, 2016, 02:11:06 PM
Hey peeps,

I'm interested in knowing whether there is such a processor, which allows me to integrate a payment button on my website, that allows customers to pay via debit/credit card, before converting into bitcoin.

Thanks!
