1661  Economy / Speculation / Re: High tx fee has historically marked the sell-off. Is this time different?? on: May 13, 2023, 11:59:20 PM
Good data to consider and cross reference but its probably most relevant to volume occurring in that sell.  The spike in 2017 I think forced prices higher ironically, reason being a lack of liquidity was caused by high fees meaning less sellers to feed demand and spiking the price in a feedback loop type effect.  That was my take, I think the excessive rise in transactions then was artificial as a kind of malicious attempt to show other blockchains with larger capacity for transactions as superior.
We cannot say all points on this graph are equal as BTC has adapted over time and become more capable of carrying transactions in a variety of ways such as LN.
1662  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 13, 2023, 11:56:24 PM
The problem with security of the bank vs the gold is that the most common storage of bigger amounts of gold is within the vault of a different kind of bank able to store gold, silver and all the precious traded metals.    That security and ease of access could be equal in both cases, gold price moving around so much could cause upset and mean pressure of the vault to comply with new laws that cause their customers problems.  For example from my own experience I have had gold withheld that I owned from September to March before I was allowed to access it, if I had been especially desperate for liquidity that would have caused me great trouble.   The gold was fine in theory but theres always paperwork whatever you own it seems, someone wants to double check everything and it can take forever it seems a problem all assets have.

My basic guess would be something along the lines of a planned email containing a code went out too soon to at least a few people, not exactly impossible just unfortunate in the mixup.  I send scheduled emails all the time and I presume any large firm would be layering their special offers in all sorts of ways, surely an error could occur.  Bank error in your favor as per Monopoly rules Tongue  Hanlon's razor
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ridiculous Bets that disappointed you on: May 13, 2023, 11:44:42 PM
Crash is the most bonkers games for extremes, most of the time its low but it does have that ability to go far past anything people thought possible.  I'm not quite sure why it does that because I would like to figure out mostly when it can occur, however it does appear random and so just luck.
I always like to kid myself there is a way to possibly guess, just from simplicity of for example betting after many low multiples have occurred in the hope 'its due for a big one'  seems fair ; never quite that easy however.
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc price preeiction on: May 13, 2023, 11:41:12 PM
The extremes of BTC tend to exceed expectations often, even while saying that I would still expect to be wrong as most times it does appear 40k would be correct.   But the ability for BTC to go further in both directions then people thought possible is frequent and repeated, so by that reckoning we could go as high as 60k I guess.   Close to the ATH, I do think it would resolve downwards from that peak before year end.  Basically if we repeat 2019 in being positive but losing that peak it'd be what I expect roughly.
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 Bitcoin can take a position discussion. on: May 12, 2023, 11:59:51 PM
2023 is a flat year in summary, we can rise plenty in bursts but its only going to meet prior volume which must be digested and revised before we can move higher from that.  All that equates to is time to move, the whole of this year imo is easily how long it takes to get back to even a modest target such as 40 to 50k.   If we were to end on 30k or even less I wont take it too negatively either, its time spent and BTC doesnt care about your December or year end calendar for its conclusion.

So the position is sideways,  look at this daily bar view since mid March.   All this time we just following our own footsteps and thats how its going to be, consolidation is not a negative but its not the grand gains some had hoped for either.  Trade it imo is probably best, dont get too carried away on either sentiment extreme.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 12, 2023, 11:43:17 PM
Exactly, and when it comes to addictions, gambling addiction is one of the most deadliest and dangerous addictions one could ever have,

Im very lucky in that I grew up with maths bias, learning statistics and probability theory even when quite young.  So this is how I view the world on just about any subject there is a relevance to a range of outcomes always possible in varying degrees with various bias applicable.    This structured view of event outcomes helps combat addiction repetition or excessive risk taking in alot of subjects especially involving money and bets.
I would recommend if someone is really struggling to reset their thinking and outrun a bad habit involving money, doesnt have to be pure gambling people can waste money on lots of spending activities but my idea is to learn the structure beyond what you are spending on dont be blind to risk vs reward and the maths behind a product.  I do think that could help fix the view of the world, its never just purely random theres always some pattern to recognize imo it will help addiction. Write down bets, compare contrast should have build up more of a considered view some games are better suited then others to revision and thought but to process better the game you play I believe it will help in progression.
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed on brink of fifth(?) round of quantitative easing on: May 12, 2023, 11:23:05 PM
Printing more money while raising rates in theory to combat inflation is going to quickly become nonsense.   Japan is already further down this road and well aware they exist in a ruined landscape financially that government is broke though the country could do well without them it hardly bodes well for the health of an economy if the largest issuer of debt is unworthy via its endless refusal to settle debts.
Can any major debtor modern nation now settle their debts, what happens when this is called upon with reference to our knowledge of how bad effects easily spread globally & with a domino effect of losses and decline in trade.   I almost hope they get away with their nonsense as it will be so troublesome in conclusion when it topples.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 12, 2023, 08:30:57 PM
One good reason not to blame others for your decision to gamble is that it will continue the losses, in a way thats repeated for hundreds of years it has to be recognized that the weight of your actions and bets are in your hands.  If you dont fully weigh up and take responsibility for your own gambling win or loss then your own estimations for gambling in any game will become off-set and inaccurate, you will tend to lose more is something that should be realized.

Some risks we cannot avoid in life and must be undertaken to prosper but gambling for a game is personal choice; reduce your bets if you are not especially involved & in a bad mood in this way, until you fix your feeling etc. it will put off your game easily imo.

Satoshi reward going up how I take the move overall, its not all bad as price must match market interest & stir the fire or embers might die.

2000  spins holy smokes, we are approaching your ideal max payout scenario perhaps.    Im not much of an all or nothing scenario type person, its more an adjustment over time I think.   How I view this current movement is we definitely lost the 50 day average and right now we are sitting atop a whale which is the 200 week average, which is a very large great inertia measure of movement in price action.   200 WMA will keep going up here doesnt matter what we do this month or next, it'll rise but if we fall below that many might turn negative on BTC prospects.
MA isnt active resistance but actual trades done in this area will be and we're now near to peaks of last August, the start of this year closed weekly bars here and our more recent months this is the lower boundary.   So that matters, its actual trades, people business etc. so I'm looking for a bounce here tbh if it doesnt occur or is weak then have to presume 2023 progress is turning more negative; as I summarized before I expect boomerang pathing I need to duck Tongue
The FUN token bet for me I think will be a hedge, so I win a bet if it goes down though Im hardly happy about it.  If this area is pivotal we at least get some directional certainty, we have been drifting imo.

Yet again big number on the faucet, I just need that little bit more for the bigger win.  All numbers are equal , I spun over 10k times it has be an event outcome in my favor any day now :p
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 11, 2023, 11:59:18 PM
Gold is long term money, you cannot really pay bills in gold.  Also the variance of gold price can be upto 50% decline in a year which would make it appear worse the inflation losses to currency at times.  Gold might well be superior to cash but also its been held back in its liquidity by the modern system of exchange based around government promissory notes.
Ideally for gold buying you say to yourself do I want to hold and retain this gold for a decade, till 2033 am I comfortable holding this elemental asset regardless of price.   The price can go and do whatever, you will keep that same amount of gold which is its strength and drawback in that it has no yield.  So the very hard questions is required to limit your aspirations, dont over speculate dont hold a hard asset when you require liquidity in your ability to pay cash bills regularly.
The basic rule of course is never more then 10% of your total wealth should be gold, its risky otherwise which is the opposite of why to buy gold hence dont.  You must continue to have cash and gold for now.
1672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time for me to buy on: May 11, 2023, 11:48:28 PM
BTC seems likely to spend some time pulling back to 26k or maybe lower but even with the low price going even lower its still probably a good time to buy into.   The appreciation from year to year is harder to evaluate and view then the short term view of it being negative which is quite a minor effect right now.
I think if we look on weekly bars then the closing highs of Feb and AUG last year was about 24k.  Thats quite a solid ledge and normally where I would presume we rest on if pulling back, reason being a move can get weaker as it progresses and in combination this amount of resistance or higher volume at 24k is quite apparent and would likely prevent movement easily occurring there.   Buying into that point now to balance against a possible recovery of prior pricing upto 50k or more seems reasonable to me though the situation is changing every day there is no certainty.  I dont think we're going to repeat the lows, this is a pullback that fails to lose prior gains which would make it positive in a larger view.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: May 11, 2023, 09:34:29 PM
Another decline today brings us closer to precipice, we will we tip into negative or are we just exploring the full range of prices observed for months now.   Quite notable on the lower boundaries of this 'upper range' area is the  200 week average which is an extremely long term measure for BTC and always it is rising but we have fallen below that measure for quite some time due to the extreme decline of 2022.   This would be the marker for me negative or positive, if we dont maintain this average roughly as guidance of BTC progress long term then its time to recognize larger challenges then previously thought in this year and maybe next.
1674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: May 11, 2023, 12:02:44 AM
Its not a bear market right now, we havent pulled nearly half enough to negate the gains since year start.   You will get thrown from the horse if you let every bump in the road upset you like this, tough luck this is how BTC is and it will decline in this way or even greater even during a period of good gains.
Today is volatile movement but its not failed yet to keep the 27k area so yet again its remained within range of the same prices seen for last couple of months.   We just doing loops, cant be labelled negative while in summary we go sideways.
1675  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is Poses a Great Challenge for Delayed Gratification on: May 10, 2023, 11:45:43 PM
Saving money is a depreciating asset worth so what happened is the value of the money saved declined vs a fixed cost (commodities even plain metal will retain its value in general though erratically, a working asset etc. is superior to plain cash imo).     What could work is you decide to buy the 2020 year model of that car and buy it second hand, the devaluation of car value after being used is greater then even cash inflation loss of value so you would get what you want, but if you want new every time without compromise it doesnt especially work for you.
Your premise is somewhat correct, inflation ruins order flow in the end because prices are uncertain and eventually all business is impeded by the volatility.     A car program I've seen which is also relevant where they try to trade up cars by fixing minor problems on each model and selling it on, eventually they get to trade upto the wanted model.  Its quite funny thats possible but I've heard of it being done realistically if not easily.

Decent promotion for sure.   The multi bet failed on not seeing ENCE beat Faze, but I should have bet 3 maps there.  Mouz I skipped which was good because they did upset again like the old days.   I bet Grayhoundz rightly despite flailing and appearing weak somehow are enough of a threat and beat Mongolz; they shouldnt beat Nip today.

Multibet I went with is Faze over forze and Col to take it to 3 maps vs Liquid; they are both american teams and should be more familiar and possible to counter for that.
Mongolz and monte 3 maps, bit of a guess but its nice odds and playing in just a few minutes, OG over legion which I would hope should be simple enough for them.  OG did lose last month on ancient to legion but they can ban right.
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: May 10, 2023, 02:47:34 AM
BTC is always going to be making some kind of low, however it doesn't have to matter especially so long as the low now registering is still higher then the prior low seen in a good sequence.  BTC has stayed above 27k roughly and is still fitting into that definition of a positive trend which is higher lows so BTC remains positive and cannot yet be concluded as acting negatively despite some negative expectations etc.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 09, 2023, 05:46:17 PM
Anything to excess will destroy you in the end whatever positive it appears in a moment.   A person could be totally peaceful just constantly eating candy bars and they will maybe end up dead that way if they cannot control the constant urge to eat unhealthily.
A person who drank coke, nothing added just fizzy pop ended up dead thats because caffeine in the very extremes can cause death and it is a drug.  She drank from the moment of waking and 2 litre bottles to herself all day, the caffeine causes heart irregularity which means a medical team to restart the heart was required at one point and she did not make it to the hospital and died.
The excess of almost anything must be seen as a vice and yes always be careful with money, reduce your bets to relearn a game if its not going your way.   The luck of winning a game should be a thrill not just money.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: May 08, 2023, 11:54:43 PM
Day 1 Major CSGO results.   Monte outperforming but is it fair guage for future performance or noise, I didnt even know Monte was anything but now I think they are worth watching thats a good close match they had vs Faze together with their more obvious win vs the Brazilians.
BO1 matches in the morning tomorrow and BO3 afternoon, think I will opt for just BO3.

Apeks is confusing, not a single round lost in their game vs Grayhound who already won vs Forze, a good result & it was Mirage on both Grayhound's absolute loss and their upset win.  Apeks beat Liquid,  maybe Liquid slipped on countering tactics due to unfamiliarity or maybe Apeks is the best underdog of this major.  Mouz used to be a good upset bet, a giant killer at times but have not thought that recently..

Mouz, G2, Liquid to win as a multi is my first thoughts and maybe 3 maps for Faze game.

1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 08, 2023, 11:45:28 PM
In 2020 I remember it was quite lethargic post halvening, its really not obvious or deliberate effect at this point the alteration to block reward is only alongside other factors.    Biggest clue is take both components of the price as relevant to direction so BTC but also Dollar, we must look up DXY and its direction.   The ideal is DXY is weakening and comparing to 2020 that especially occur until July of that year, BTC did respond and outperform in July 2020 I remember much surprise into just the last couple weeks closing out the month.    That drifted back until autumn and then really took off,  my clue is something like that but also a pattern of the lowest prices rising consistently over months; that would reference 2017 also a large gain started small.
